Pytania i trzy odpowiedzi.

Ciekawostki z tego rozdziału to m.in.
Osoby praworęczne – 90%.
Osoby leworęczne – 9%.
Osoby z dominacją niejednorodną (jedne czynności wykonywane prawa, a drugie lewą – 1%.
Osoby oburęczne – mniej niż 1%.

Granica wytrzymałości człowieka, czyli jak długo wytrzyma bez:
Jedzenia 6-8 tygodni.
Wody 3-4 dni.

Polecamy całym sercem i jestem ciekawa, jakie rozdziały Was zainteresowały.

Is this book aimed at kids? Yes

Did I read it anyway because I am a sucker for lists? Yes

Did the fact that it was aimed at kids really make any difference to the reading? Not until the very end so it was an overall entertaining experience.

Am I still freaked out about space? Yes. We are tiny, tiny, tiny little itty bitty things balanced on a not really big planet in a HUGE UNIVERSE. Sometimes I fall into the void of thinking about how small and insignificant we are on the general scale of things and terrify myself.

Anyway. Fun read. Illustrations are fun and the lists, the facts and the format are fun too.

Where are my young curious readers at?

Here’s an ultimate list of lists of all the things you could think of (and probably some you haven’t yet😛)

The people who brought us the new Britannica Children’s Encyclopedia last year have now produced Listified, an illustrated collection of a massive number of facts distilled into lists, upon lists.

Depending on whether you’re obsessed with space, nature, or the human body, Listified will get you covered with the most obscure (the five types of nebulae) but also the most interesting (nine things that could happen to an astronaut in space) factoids.

I’m amazed by the scope of this. It makes me feel both very tiny and insignificant, based on what scientists already know of the universe and the exoplanets. Yet it makes me feel how extraordinary humans can be, the way mere teens invented things (Braille and the ice lolly) and how automatons were built in the 18th century.

I seem to reading a lot of these types of books of late. Perhaps it is because I like a bit of reading time in the evening as I finish my day, but I do not want to invest in a book "I cannot put down." Did you know a bolt of lightning is but the width of your thumb? You would if you chose this book to explore. The book is designed for young readers (upper elementary to early middle school age), but we all can learn something new each day. Keep the brain sharp. And, perhaps, when you are that awkward Christmas party, you can amaze a few of your fellow party goers with these tidbits.

My favorite kind of book, one you can pick up anytime and dive in where you left off. Full of oddball facts such as the 2nd person/group to summit Mt Everest, the most remote islands, bugs, the universe, languages, you name it.

Full of great illustrations to boot.

I did get the impression that it was dated at some points, but then would see an entry that contained grumpy cat or a mention of COVID-19, so not so dated after all.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lists abound in this book full of facts. It is a book of lists, which is such a fun way to organize all of the information crammed into this thick volume. Earth's seven major tectonic plates, fastest and slowest dinosaurs, most commonly broken bones in the human body are examples of lists included. For kids who like to know random facts this would make an amazing gift.

This book was fun. I enjoyed reading about all the facts in the book. My favorite facts were the funny laws that some cities or countries had.

The type of book that I'll booktalk for summer reading, but personally would have preferred more engaging illustrations and text for all the cool facts and lists.

My 8 year old and I enjoyed reading parts of this book together. I like that you can go to any page to find fascinating information about a certain topic.

This book was quite good. The lists were entertaining and educational and the illustrations were fun. It’s a lot to read though! It took me 28 days.

‘Listified!’ by Andrew Pettie, illustrated by Andres Lozano, is a fascinating addition to the Britannica Books. There are 300 lists in the book to engage anyone with interest in almost anything. Some pages detail odd jobs, such as teddy bear surgeons, dog food tasters, and professional sleepers, while other pages go into detail about dinosaurs, planets, animals, babies, machines, quotes, and so much more!

Coupled with illustrations that are great for kids and adults alike to further explore the facts in the book, this is a perfect addition to anyone’s library, especially lovers of trivia. You can read the book in any order, as there are lists for all different sorts of topics; however, the book is separated into chapters, including space, nature, dinosaur times, animals, the body, being human, inventions, and game changers. It also contains an eight-page glossary and an index to help find whatever one might have the urge to learn more about at any given moment.

Great for anyone of any age to explore facts and figures, bust myths, and quiz oneself, this will be a book to be picked up time and time again.

This is such a good book for the fact-obsessed child (or the child within). It isn’t just a list of black and white facts, rather a mix of the fun and the weird. My kids loved it.
