Creed #3

Death at Devils River

Rate this book
Serving as the elected sheriff of Mitchell County, Zack Creed, with brother Todd as his deputy, receives a message from an old family acquaintance in trouble. Trying to shrug it off as another person from their past wanting to take advantage of his position, Zack pays little attention to it—until he gets an urgent sounding letter from that old friend, Chuck Lively. No longer able to ignore the plea for help, Zack lets the rest of the family know, including his “take charge” brother Ben. Resigning his office, he and Todd put together a group of local men to ride with them while Ben sends word to other old friends with battle experience.

Riding into the burned-out ranch yard of the Lively’s, the men are astonished to find the Lively’s alive and ready to fight against the Mexican marauders who are determined to destroy anyone in their way and steal every horse and cow—and woman—they can find. Relocating to the abandoned Camp Hudson compound they set their defenses, they are aided by more men as Ben’s friends arrive. When the smoke clears, the marauders are done for—but it takes a bloodbath in Death at Devils River…

This is a fast moving series of one exciting adventure after the other, as the Creed's arrive to assists friends who are being overwhelmed by a group of Mexican banditos! One exciting episode after the other!

Most definitely another outstanding five star masterpiece by Mr. Parks, as the Creed family strives to bring peace to a family who has been befriended by the Creed family years ago! The family's home and out buildings were destroyed by the outlaws, and now relocated to an old abandoned Army fort. This is an ongoing series of unending attacks by a Mexican Bendigo and his outlaw gang, who has been running rampant for an extended period of time! Mr. Park's outstanding storylines are unsurpassed in their respectively descriptive rendition of realistic old western folklore adventures, as the Creed family, friends and a special group of former Army guys, pull no punches in bringing justice to those responsible for their wrong doings! Too, an exceptionally outstanding group of characters were perfectly selected for their commanding assignments throughout the entire story!
This one starts fast and accelerates with each new adventure, once the Creed's arrive on scene. Having an officer of the Civil War in the Creed group gave them the opportunity in asking for a small compliment of troops from another Fort, which was in the process of downsizing! Never a dull moment from beginning to end, and the more you get involved the better it gets! No slow down throughout the entire book!
Definitely recommend this compassionately motivated success story to all readers, but especially to you western folklore addicted fanatics, as you will enjoy riding along with the Creed's, and their hodge-podge group of misfits! Even you non-western enthusiasts will find yourselves completely engrossed within the first few pages of this compassionately entertaining revelation of realistically renditions of our old American western folklore adventures! Really! Do yourselves a favor and follow this group of dedicated and determined, and dedicated, group of frontier people, men and women, dedicated to bringing peace and tranquility to their beloved area of residency. I assure you to be perfectly engrossed within a very short time, as you follow the Creed's, and others in bringing justice to those responsible for their wrong doings!!!😃
