Is it really a dream come true if it means losing the one thing you never knew you needed?

Willow Parker is excited to move to Podunk, Nowheres-ville. That’s what she’s telling herself, but it’s not working until she meets a dark-eyed, honey-voiced cowboy.
That’s when her new small-town life starts looking a lot less temporary.
Bobby is a big-hearted storyteller, wrapped in a sexy, gruff, hard-working, family man package that makes Willow’s pillow-soft heart race and body hum.
She should’ve known love’s never that easy though.

Bobby Tannen knows exactly who he is – a farmer, a brother, and last but not least, a singer-songwriter.
He’s made his peace with his biggest audience being the folks at the local honkytonk, and knows his future lies in the dirt of the land he’s worked his whole life.
With beautiful Willow at his side, he’s one step closer to a happily ever after he’s only written songs about.

Until a hotshot music executive comes to town and offers Bobby everything he’s ever wanted. But it may come at too high of a price… his new relationship with Willow.

Who truly holds Bobby’s heart – the bright lights of Nashville or his sweet Willow?

As the end of the year approaches I decided to finish at least one the series I've begun to read in the past... so here we are. On the second try. I made it. First time around I dnf-ed this book because it was too slow for my liking, but as it turned out, the time was not right then. I really enjoyed it now, these two characters were just amazing. Some aspects of the story are a bit predictable, but there are also some really wonderful and heartwarming moments, full of feels, a rollercoaster of emotions. Some angst but not over done. And it made me a little bit sentimental too, to come back to the three brothers and their stories... this was a great addition to the series.

Wonderfully Corny and Cute 🥰

I’m a sucker for small town romances and cowboys, so I loved this! Bobby was a hot, rough, dirty talking cowboy with the voice of an angel, and Willow was a cute, shy, city girl who comes to country and unexpectedly finds love. Their story was super cheesy and corny, but that was part of the charm!

I usually like my books with a healthy dose of smut; this was a little bit of a slow-burn and some of the smexy scenes were fade to black, but it was still pretty good, and Bobby made up for that with his incredibly hot dirty talk! I will for sure read the rest of the books in this series and also the Bennett Brothers.

Rough Country (Tannen Boys #3) by: Lauren Landish

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rough Country puts a catchy tune in your heart that quickly seems to go to your head. Landish drafts an inspiring message of hope. When life knocks the world off it's axis, it's the music from within that points emotions in the right direction. Bobby and Willow are dreamers. They never lose sight of the dream, but are at a loss when it comes to carrying it out. What ensues is heartwarming chaos that will sweep you off your feet and run away with your heart.View all my reviews

Bobby is a rancher on the Bennett/Tannen farm whose dream is to sing country. He performs at Hank's bar and there meets Willow, Hank's niece who has just come into town to help her uncle out with his bar. It's lust at first sight for Bobby but Willow worries that he's just a player. Bobby pursues her and eventually gets her to agree to a date and soon the two of them are falling in love with one another. Everything is going great until Bobby is offered a record deal and the catch is he will have to give up Willow for it.
I loved Willow and how she had such a kind, big heart. Helping Hank out even though he was too stubborn to ask for help. I love how much Bobby and Willow support one another. Bobby with Willow's photography and Willow with Bobby's music. I also loved seeing all the Tannen and Bennett women together spending time together. This whole series was great and I'm going to miss the Tannen/Bennett clan.

Book 3 in the Tannen Boys saga sees the youngest brother, Bobby getting the spotlight, literally. Our guitar playing cowboy is the performer in the family, lighting up Hank’s bar every other Saturday. The ladies love him, but he’s not interested in their flirtations, he’s not looking for love, until that is, he sees the new bartender, Hank’s niece, Willow Parker, and it’s pretty much love at first sight. He’s caught hook, line and sinker, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to woo her. Willow’s not having any of it though, she knows his type, and she’s not going to get played again. He’s not the player she thought he was though, and soon they start making their own music, and oh my, the dirty talk, I loved Bobby’s dirty mouth, and secretly so did Willow. A sweet, sexy and completely addictive small town romance (I swear if you sneeze in Great Falls the whole town knows about it). I also shed a tear or two when the going got tough. I blooming love this rowdy bunch of brothers and the women that captured their hearts, and I’ve got to say I’m going to miss them and all their wily ways. I am however looking forward to seeing what Ms Landish sends our way next. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I’m so awed by the way Lauren Landish has created this quiet laid back country town. This I think is Maybe the best of them all. I don’t know if it’s because this is the end of the series, or if it’s because this book drew me in hook, line and sinker. Bobby Tannen is like all his brothers with the dark, hot, hunky body and the new girl in town is Willow. She’s used to be all in the shadows. That all changes when Bobby gets the first look at her from across a crowded room. I’ve felt the jitters along with her how getting to know someone your deeply attracted to. I’ve rode the highs of their relationship and have shed a few tears at the low points. There’s plenty of emotional feels in this story along with lust, steam, love of a family and love for your soulmate. I don’t know how she created this wonderful town underneath that mountain but I’m really glad she did. This series will always hold a special place in my heart.

Willow, a self proclaimed city girl, finds herself in Great Falls. She has family there, but this is no family reunion. Willow quickly begins work for her uncle at Hank's, a local bar that features Bobby Tannen a few nights a month.
Bobby's smooth singing and guitar playing swoons, but tonight Bobby is the one swooning when he sees Willow. All the flirting in the world still doesn't crack her exterior, but Bobby isn't finished trying. Bobby is nothing if not persistent. He's determined to make Willow his. Soon they become each other's everything.
Problems arise when Bobby is offered a once in a lifetime chance to pursue his dream. His music. Willow is his once in a lifetime dream, right? Bobby has to choose which dream to chase and which dream to crush and leave behind.
I loved Willow's sweetness and her reluctance to give in to her feelings. She's reserved and cautious, especially around Bobby, where Bobby is not. He's barely hanging on and his composure is definitely slipping. He wants Willow. All of her.
BOBBY'S WORDS, THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS, I LOVED THEM ALL😍 SUCH AN AMAZING STORY WITH SECONDARY CHARACTERS WHO HAVE ALL HAD THEIR STORIES TOLD IN PREVIOUS BOOKS ! I LOVE CATCHING UP WITH THIS AMAZING, EXTENDED FAMILY !
A VERY EMOTIONAL AND SEXY READ ! I LAUGHED AND I CRIED, AND NOW I'M READY FOR A BENNETT/TANNEN MOVIE ! ! !😁

I love a hero whose world is turned upside down by his girl, and that’s exactly what happens in this one. It’s sexy, sassy, and wastes no time getting right into the romance. There’s a fine line between instalove and insta-attraction, and this one crossed it a few too many times for me - but I can’t fault either one for being so smitten! It’s a solid addition to the series and showcases the softer side of this gruff cowboy.

The story follows Willow, a city girl who comes to the country for semi-mysterious reasons. She’s not sure what to think of the town, but loves being about to help out her aging uncle. When she meets Bobby, it’s lust at first sight. He’s the kind of guy who gets a lot of attention, and his singing certainly doesn’t hurt his appeal. Bobby is smitten from the start, knowing right away that he wants to spend as much time with Willow as possible. As the two dance around their attraction, they connect on an emotional level - and then it’s on from there.

I loved seeing Bobby’s reaction to Willow; he’s a bit of a troublemaker and can be intimidating, but she brings out a whole other side to him. It was also incredibly refreshing that Bobby gets attention from women on a daily basis, but he only has eyes for one girl. This one definitely felt a bit too much like instalove - it was a lot - and the length could’ve been shorter, but it makes a nice addition to the series. Whether you’ve been reading from the start or are just getting into it, this is a sexy, STEAMY read that never gets too heavy. I received an ARC via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review of this strangers to lovers romance.

Rough Country by Lauren Landish is the 3rd and final book in the Tannen Boys series. This is Bobby Tannen and Willow Parker's story.
Willow moves to town to help her estranged uncle out. She's a quiet girl, shy and she meets Bobby at her uncle's bar. They have this instant chemistry that sends sparks flying. Bobby is happy working on the family farm and singing in Hank's Bar. This story has everything- shy girl, handsome cowboy, possible life changing decision, rollercoaster ride of emotions , full of feels and great HEA. Liked Bobby and Willow's story! Great flow , liked the plot and the ending.

Rough Country by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will win your heart. This is number three in the Tannen Boys series, each can be read as stand-alone, but as a family they are the icing on the cake, and well Bobby Tannen you just beat all the odds, you won me over big time, I could listen to you sing me to sleep each and every night and never get bored. Throw in Willow and her sublime pictures that are so well described you can see them in your mind like they are on your walls. This is of of my favourites of this author, and I have a long list of past hits, so its not something I say lightly, as the Tannen and Bennetts are like children you can’t truly have a favourite as they are all amazing, but there is something about Bobby that makes my heart sing.

4 star Review Rough Country (Tannen Boys #3) by Lauren Landish

AUDIO REVIEW:

This is Willow Parker and Bobby Tannen’s story and what an entertaining listen it was. The narration from Tor Thom and Carly Robbins really brought the story to life for me.

There is so much more to Bobby than meets the eye. A talented singer, he performs in his local bar, happy to entertain the locals, knowing that is as far as he will go. When he meets the latest bartender Willow, he is attracted to her.

As their relationship progresses outside influences will impact. Will the opportunity to go to Nashville as a performer bring them together or rip them apart?

This was a steamy, heart warming story and one that I loved particularly the ease of the narration made it an enjoyable listen as this team blended so well together.

The secondary characters made me smile and added an additional layer to my listening pleasure.

One of the things that I have loved the most about this series of brothers is the slow build-up to a love story. There is a depth to the world-building and characters that I appreciate. Even if the story happens in a relatively short time-span it feels like time stands still.

Loved seeing the old characters and seeing this whole family heal and move forward. Loved Bobby. He is my favorite of all the brothers. And his relationship with Willow was special. I wanted something more from her, I don't know what, but something about her blog bothered me. I wanted more. I loved her character and heart though.

Rough Country is the third and final book in Landish’s Tannen Boys series, since Bobby the youngest brother is the last to find his H.E.A. Youngest sibling sister Shay found hers in the Bennett Brothers series that led into this series. If you haven’t already, even though this book can be read as a standalone, I recommend you start with the Bennet Brother’s series and then this one in order. If like me you’re a fan of both series, this final book includes plenty of appearances by both the Bennett and Tannen brothers and their significant others. I’m hoping that this being the series finale I’ll get to see the Tannens get the deed to their farm/ranch back from the Bennetts who financially rescued them when it was discovered their late father had used the farm as collateral for his gambling debts. I like how Landish includes the rest of the Tannens and the Bennetts in this story as much as can be expected. Actually far more than most authors do. If you haven’t read their books you get to know each of them just a little bit. The romantic in me is also hoping that maybe oldest brother Brody and his significant other Rix will tie the knot and maybe there’ll be another baby or two in the works. But that will all have to wait until the end of the story to be discovered.
Bobby works the farm with his brother Bruce (Brutal) and performs at Hank’s Honkytonk on Saturday nights once a month where he regularly draws in a big crowd. Willow is Hank’s great niece (her mother’s uncle) who hasn’t seen Hank since she was around fourteen and he had a falling out with his brother, her grandfather. Before that they apparently had a close relationship in which she affectionately referred to him as Unc. Willow has been sent from the city (we’re never told which one, just “the city”) by her mother to help Hank whom she somehow knows needs help. We don’t know if Hank has serious health issues or is just slowing down with age now that he’s in his seventies. Willow is an experienced bartender as she’s done that to help support herself along with her photography, her true love for years. Ironically Willow is an introvert by nature, a shy person who has always felt unseen and living on the periphery of everyone else’s lives. She hides behind her camera always watching other people live. But when she’s behind the bar she’s everybody’s friend and confidant with a little bit of sass thrown in.
I really liked the fact that Bobby is smitten with Willow from the moment he lays eyes on her from across the crowded bar where he’s performing and she’s serving drinks. It’s a serious case of insta-love for our hero. As much as I enjoy contemporary romance, I’m not a fan of watching the guy spend most of the story denying his feelings for the girl. I like that Willow is attractive in her own way but not Kate Upshaw pretty. I like how she struggles to believe the handsome and hot Bobby can really be interested in a shy average looking woman as she sees herself when beautiful women are throwing themselves at him. Because of that and because she doesn’t want to be just his flavor of the week or month she makes him work for it. Part of me is anxious because it’s so early in the story and Bobby and Willow are already falling in love. There’s too much story left for these two to walk off into their H.E.A. without having to deal with some trials and tribulations. I know it’s silly because I know eventually these two will get their H.E.A. but if I’m really into a story and care about the characters, I suffer right along with the couple when they get their hearts broken. Although I know it’s a necessary part of the story I don’t look forward to it. Logistically I’m struggling with how a farmer who has to be up before dawn each day can date a bartender who works until 2 a.m. six days a week? How long can Bobby go without sleep and live on love? Do Willow and the rest of the bar’s employees (who are great secondary characters, especially Olivia) really work sixty plus hour weeks? There are other questions swirling through my head at this point in the book. Will Willow eventually take over running the bar from her aging Great Uncle Hank and if so what happens to her photography career? And how will she and Bobby ever find the time to be a couple working such disparate hours? Will Bobby get “discovered” and have to decide whether to pursue his music career full time and leave Great Falls, Willow and his family behind? Like me, you’ll just have to read the book to discover the answers to all of these burning questions. I will tell you it's well worth the time. This is absolutely one of the best series closing books I’ve ever read the way the author includes all of the other previous couples, ties everything up in a neat bow and gives us a peak at what the future holds for the Tannens and Bennetts. There’s even an extended epilogue from Mama Louise’s P.O.V. you can download for free.

I read an advanced copy for an honest review.
As usual, Lauren Landish saves the best brother for last!

In the previous Tannen brother books, all we knew about Bobby was that he played guitar, but he really was not forthcoming with sharing his music. In this book, he has opened up more and is performing standards and original songs. He has women throwing themselves at him, but he's not interested. One night he's performing at Hank's (the local hangout), he looks up across the bar and it's as if he's been struck by lighting! It's instalove with the woman working behind the bar!

Willow Parker is Hank's niece. She has come to town on a secret mission. She knows how to tend bar and convinces Hank to let her work for him. The night she sees Bobby, she feels a connection, but based on the way the woman are behaving at the bar, she thinks he must be a player and shoots him down.

I loved watching the connection, chemistry and tension wind up between Bobby and Willow. On paper, there are some ways they would make sense and other ways you would figure it wouldn't work in a million years! It feels organic and sexy and makes you cheer for them every step of the way.

Yes, some aspects of the story are a bit predictable (no spoilers from me), but there are also wonderful pleasant surprises and perhaps because I am a bit musical and artistic, I found Bobby and Willow to be my favorite couple of the clan.

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
I’ve read several books, actually almost all the books, written by Ms Landish. I’ve loved each one, she has a way of taking the reader into the story, and makes the reader live within the life of her characters.
Bobby Tannen is the youngest of the Tannen brothers, a hard working rancher, but above all an excellent composer and singer. He lives the dream of eventually make the big times in C & W music. He sings at Hank’s bar several times a week.
Willow is a young woman who loves to take photos of odd and unusual objects, and posts them on her blog. She comes to help her Uncle Hank at the bar, when she learns that he is having health issues.
They meet one night that Bobby is performing at the bar, there is immediate attraction between them. She resists his advances because she suspects that he is a playboy, but she finds that she was completely mistaken.
Eventually Bobby’s persistence makes Willow realize that she has fallen in love with him. They go through Uncle Hanks improvement from Cancer, a slick city recruiter from Nashville, and their own stubbornness. They finally obtain their HEA and the epilogue ends the story beautifully.
I always recommend any book written by Lauren Landish!

Bobby is a hardworking cowboy, close to his family and he pursues his love of music by singing at the local bar on the weekends. It was while he was performing that he first saw Willow and all it took was one glance to know that they belonged together and now he just needed to convince her.

Willow has recently moved to town to help out her uncle at the bar he owns and to pursue her love of being behind the camera. She is careful about getting involved with Bobby however there is no denying the feelings they have for each physically and emotionally. Just when they think they have their future all planned out an unexpected break could change everything.

This is a heartwarming story about love, family and deciding what and who truly matters in life. It was great to see Bobby and Willow’s relationship unfold as well as getting to catch up with all the other characters we know and love.

I'm so sad that there are no more Tannen cowboys to swoon over. I think the best was saved for last. Bobby is used to working the land with his brother Brutal and the rest of his siblings as well as the Bennett's. In his spare time, he shares his passion for music down at the local honkytonk bar called Hank's, where he first lays eyes on the new bartender Willow. It's one and done for Bobby, he is caught hook, line and sinker at first sight. Willow is a little more hesitant, having just moved to the country from the city, and just as their relationship starts to take off, Bobby gets offered the deal if a lifetime, that does not include him being in a relationship.

It's not all smooth sailing for this country singer. Bobby is tough as nails on the outside, but has a beautiful sweet soul in the inside, his big heart is the perfect match for Willow. I loved these two together, one of my favourite pairings from this series. I have loved getting to know, first the Bennett's and then the down of their luck Tannen's. An amazing country romance series. I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and this is my honest review.

Wow! Talk about saving the best for last. Lauren outdid herself on this one and put a big shiny red bow on the series to boot.

I wish that there were more Tannen boys because this cannot be the end to this series. But, sadly, it is. But, that's ok, I know Lauren will come up with more delicious boys for us to drool over.

He saw her from across the crowded room. Sounds like a cliche' and yes it is, but dang, Bobby and Willow's eyes meeting for the first time just set the room on fire. Bobby saw no one else, wanted no one else and needed no one else. And he slowly woo'd Willow until she gave in. These two were so freaking hot together. I love just how sweet, caring and somewhat forceful he was and the honest dirty talking....whew boy!

I loved seeing the whole Bennett/Tannen family together and Mama Louise is the sh!t. That woman has her ways about bringing the truth out of people and bringing everyone together.

My favorite throughout this whole book is how Lauren dropped lyrics throughout to help keep the music aspect alive and gripping at your heartstrings.

This series and the series about the Bennett's are not to be missed.

Bobby and Willow's story is really something special.
It is one of the most emotional, heartwarming and yet gut-wrenching stories I have read in a while. I love Ms. Landish's characters, I love every facet of her writing. But with this book she has outdone herself by far. She has set a new bar for herself that is so incredibly high that it will be hard to surpass it in the future.
I won't talk about the greatness of the characters, how well crafted they are, how authentic they feel and how profound they are, and I won't talk about the plot or about its twists and turns. You have to read that yourself.

But I do promise you that you will not regret reading this book. You will laugh and you will bawl like a baby, and everything in between. It is un-put-down-able and will send you on the emotional roller-coaster ride of your life!

She began to work for her uncle who place was called Hank’s On Saturday night Bobby would be the star of the night with his music. It only took one time for him to see Willow and know she was the women for him. They instantly had a connection .There was a night he was playing and he was caught of guard by a guy talking to Willow. Bobby was excited about his music career and that guy could give to him but it would cost him Willow was he ready for that. All the Tanner and Bennett’s were in the story

I've thoroughly enjoyed all the Bennett Boys and the Tannen Boys books and am really sad to see them heading to an end. Bobby and Willow's story is well written, although somewhat predictable. Willow has always sacrificed her own happiness for others. Bobby has always dreamed of music success in Nashville. How can these two make things work between them. The story has great pace, some twits along the way, and plenty of stem I expect from Lauren Landish.

I have enjoyed the Tannen series and well as the Bennett series that the Tannen brothers book were a spin off of. This one was especially good. Not only do we have a cowboy hero in this book in the form of Bobby, we also have a singing cowboy! How can you go wrong with that. Bobby is the one who is able to use music to express his feelings and when he meets Willow he decides he wants her even more. This is such a great read. I love the connection that forms quickly between Bobby and Willow. Their chemistry is great. I also enjoyed meeting up again with all the characters from both series. Ms Landish has written a great book. I couldn't help but be drawn into all the emotions Bobby and Willow went through and found myself rooting for them to be able to find their HEA.

Bobby and Willow are amazing! When Willow comes to town to help her uncle Hank with his bar, she never counted on falling for Bobby Tannen. Bobby loves his family, works hard, plays guitar and sings in Hanks bar. When he lays eyes on Willow there’s a spark that he’s never felt and chemistry is off the charts, but Willow’s not having any of it, her walls are up so high, he’ll never get over that wall, but we all know those Tannen boys they just don’t give up when they set their mind on something they want. Music has always been a dream of Bobby’s and never thought anything would come of it, an opportunity arises and may risk what he’s found with Willow. How do you choose between what you’ve dreamt about all your life and the woman who’s changed everything for you? Amazing read, loved it!!!!

You are the rhythm my heart strings love strumming to - Priyanshu Ishu

Bobby Tannen is the last brother in the amazing Tannen Brother's series. Lauren Landish definitely saved the best for last. Family, farm and singing his heart out at Hank's Bar makes Bobby's world a happy place. But the idea of being more teases him in the back of his mind.

Willow Parker needed a change of scenery, a quieter life when she moves to reconnect with her Uncle. She did not expect to fall hard for Bobby when she hears him pour his heart and soul out in his songs. She was hooked. I have a soft spot for small town romances, and this filled all my wants and needs. A beautiful romantic love story with an endearing and swoon worthy Happy Ever After.

I thought this was such a great story! Willow and Bobby have such a great connection and their feelings for each other were so strong I could not get enough of them together. When an opportunity arises, they both will be challenged to make the right life changing decision. I was on the edge of my seat hoping it would turn out ok. Add in small town living and Bobby’s huge family filled with great characters, I really enjoyed this one!

I have read this entire series of books. They are all great. Best read in order.

This book. It takes the lead on one of my all time favorite books. I can see myself coming back and re-reading this many times over. Bobby has words of magic with his singing and Willow is one lucky girl to be on the receiving side of them. Willow may have come to Great Falls as the quiet, no one sees me type of girl, but she gains self confidence from Bobby and his family. By far these two were amazing characters to read about and the were a perfect match for this story.

Bobby, his guitar, his voice and all his heart is what Rough Country brings!!
I loved everything about this Tannen brother and his gal Willow!!
I love how Lauren Landish develops these characters and families with real life issues and feelings.
Willow comes to town to help her Unc. I loved reading about her family!
The Bennett and Tannen families are the best!! I loved all the girl parts where Willow got to know them and the fun times they had and how they take care of each other!
Bobby and Willow are a beautiful story I could not get enough of!
Another great Lauren Landish book and my life goal is to be Mama Louise with her wisdom and love!
