not quite intense or well developed thoughts here to be honest. there are some remarkable words about meditation tho, but you can see this type suggestions in every influencers story in this decade. also the illustration style is soo 2017ish.. also f the racist english prof but why you dedicate this cute book to someone like that it felt ironic to me

3.5 ⭐ It's nothing new, not new knowledge, but I needed that right now. I LOVE the illustrations, they just make my inner child happy. Since I've been through a really rough time in my life in the past few days, I needed some grounding, and this was what I needed. Yes, I would not like this the same if I read this when I was in a good mood, it might not even count as a self-help book or guide or whatever, but I needed it when I read it, so I'm glad I did. My favourite part about this book was the dedication. "To my college English professor, who told me that I should never write because it was obvious I was the daughter of a non-native English speaker." Now how cool is that? Overall, it's nothing new, but it's what I needed.
It's a cute book to flip through! There are some nice drawings and thoughts on being your own best friend by taking care of yourself. While it's not super deep, there are some helpful short pieces on self care and mental health. Overall it's a short and cute read.
