This book is outstanding! I’ve never read a story with so much action. I was white knuckling the book the whole way through, it kept me on the edge of my seat with all the twist and turns. The characters are well written and I loved them all including the town of shadow Gap. I’m hooked and have to read every book In this series. I enjoyed trying to connect pieces of the story and learning of the secrets as Autumn put things together. This is definitely a thriller and would make an incredible movie! Not a single boring second in this book, you will be glued to the pages and thoroughly entertained! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Every book in this series is very good. Plots have deviations from usual stories. Characters are interesting. I highly recommend reading them in order. While I'm waiting for next book in the series, I will read the other books by this author.
Bridgette Cash is at work on a brand new case without family ties.
This is another story that moves quickly, but without the family complications that pervaded the previous novels. Bridgette has an opportunity to work with a new partner, and that provides a substitute for her father's presence in Cold Hard Cash. The sense of movement that I noted in the previous novel is somewhat less, but I finished this novel in a day and a half.
The only quirk I noted was the use of "fortnight", a Britishism that most Americans simply do not recognize. It does mean two weeks, fourteen days, but it clues us into the author's background. In the preceding three novels, I imagined the setting to be in the Rocky Mountain Southwest, but now I can imagine it almost anywhere.
Bridgett Cash is a young detective with an impressive record for solving cases. This book has a lot of intrigue with dead bodies showing up that the records show were previously dead to a killer who manages to deceive everyone and getting away with multiple murders. Highly recommend this series!
I’m loving the series. And it’s different in that sometimes (most?), the killer(s) are identified before the end. This one bothered me a bit because he kept randomly changing the main suspect’s mother’s name from Lauren to Lorraine.

The most predictable book of the series in my opinion.
It also was pretty clear by three quarters of the book that some of the characters (trying to be vague to not do a spoiler) would have a continuation in future stories.
Another absolutely fantastic story. The characters are fabulous and believable and the story is gripping. I am looking forward to the next the next book. 😊
I enjoy the character of Bridgette Cash, however, there was something a little off about this story in the series. There was too much unnecessary details, and information that was already known. The writing wasn’t as tight as it could be. Honestly, I found this story got bogged down, and it was hard going at times.
