With Stealing Natasha coming,i decided to re-read Breaking Donatella.
I enjoyed that rollercoaster ride the first time,and this time was just as good.
If you think the title says it all,you’re in for one hell of a surprise!
Mind you,it is a good one.....a véry good one....
Cristian Moretti had a plan. A very good one,that would crush his archenemy.
You see,he knew Guiseppe Rossi’s granddaughter was still alive,even though his own father ordered her,and her mother’s murder.
He would take the girl,living as Ella Rose,and marry her.
Getting Rossi’s empire,and merging it with his own,would make him the strongest and biggest don.
He’d break the girl and mold her into something he could keep under his thumb and play with as he pleased.
Taking her went smoothly,but what happened when she woke up,that was another story.....
Ella Rose led her life to the fullest,traveling the world for her series Ellavate Your Destination.
She tried anything and everything interesting,and daring,in the places she visited.
After her mother died,she had no family left she cared about,but she had friends.....
Until she was drugged and taken by her family’s archenemy.
Finding he dídn’t plan to kill her was surprising,what he wanted from her instead was.....something she had no words for.
Her first attempt at escaping ended in disaster,but that didn’t mean she’d give up.
Left with no choice,but to go along for the moment,she tried to make a deal with him.

I loved these two!

Both headstrong and determined,ready to do anything to get the life they wanted.
And in Cristian’s case,even though it took him long enough,ready to do anything to get the woman he couldn’t live without....
And in Ella’s case,she taught him how to treat a woman with respect.
Even if he’s still that dirty bastard in the bedroom.....YUM!

Nope. Breaking Donatella is not exactly what I expected. It is not really breaking into my heart and my liking. I do not like Donatella herself. This is my first read by Miss Greywood.
The writing is choppy. The character development is not consistent. I do not feel any chemistry with the characters.
Not enough background story to develop the plot further. There is no tender or vulnerable moment either. Everything is rushed. Even the conversation is cold and choppy.

What a great story, when I started it I thought it would be a forced marriage fall in love plot, which it was but boy it was so much more. Ella was an amazing heroine, strong, feisty, smart and kinky. Cristian was on the surface a typical mafia don who expected everyone to fall in line with his wishes but he certainly changed with Ella’s influence. This is a love story for sure but it is so much more. There are moments of extreme violence, moments of humour, sadness sweetness and some steamy kinky sex. The story does not go where the reader expects and that keeps it fresh, interesting and page turning. All the characters are interesting and it is interesting which ones die, not who you might expect. I hope there will be books about some of them as there are teasers throughout this story, especially Nicolo Bianca, Daniel Peterson and Vivia. There is so much to like about this book and although I loved the ending I was sad it was over. A truly wonderful read.

This book is brutal. With well-balanced characters and a brilliant storyline this book is very well written. I really enjoy the dynamic between the main characters as the female lead was not a pushover like in so many books. A fantastic performance from both narrators.

This is a new author to me & If you like reading dark mafia romances with a strong emotional undertone then this outstanding romance will definitely captured your attention within the first few pages. The plot is highly intriguing, interesting & easy to read with good world building & some splendid scene descriptions. The two main characters (a determined mafia don, Christan Moretti) & (a very feisty young woman, Ella Rose aka Donatella Rossi) are extremely strong-willed individuals with opposing personalities. In particular, I really enjoyed how Christan gradually changed his attitude towards Ella & how the relationship developed between the two of them.
There is: family issues, twists & turns, various crime syndicates, mafia, rivalry, adventure, action, humour, drama, intrigue, suspense, deceit, betrayal, secrets, mystery, threats, danger, enemies, violence, conflict, murder, abduction, distrust, confrontations, defiance, disagreements, discipline, spankings, attempted escapes, manipulations, ultimatums, devious plans, compromises, steamy scenes, love, contentment & a hard earned, happy conclusion . I look forward to the future books from this author with great anticipation.

OMFG. I want to give this 10 stars. It was freaking fantastic. I am totally crushing on Ella, and I think that I want to be her when I grow up. I definitely don't want to mess with her, because I'm pretty sure that she would crush me down.
I think that the way that this author writes her heroines is pretty awesome. It's like she gives them an added edge that you don't see until boom, it smacks you in the face. Ella is strong, fierce, determined, and will take down anyone and anything in her way. She's not about to let Cristian's plans stop her, even if she has to work around them somehow.
I didn't like Cristian at first. I thought that he was an arrogant jerk and needed to be taken down a bit. I did end up liking him, but it wasn't an easy journey.

Kudos to Raisa Greywood for delivering such a unique and original dark mafia romance novel. This is my first book written by Ms. Greywood, I enjoyed her writing style and the storylines and characters she created. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held for the entire book, it is the type of book you can not put down because you need to know what is going to happen next. Donatella Rossi was born in to the mafia world but her mother escaped with her after faking their death. Their life was not an easy one but it was better than being stuck in a life of no choices. They changed their names, after her mothers death Donatella went on to live a very public life, basically hiding in plain site. Cristian Moretti has located the mafia princess and plans on using her to merge his family with the Rossi family to create one powerful crime family. He will take her, make her his wife to produce a heir whether she likes it or not. She turns out to be a handful, very strong willed, but the more she fights him the more he wants to break her spirit. She knows what battles to fight and agrees to go along with his plan on her own terms, and they come to an understanding. She is smart and cunning, Cristian has met his match in her and then some. Everything is going on plan, there is a target on both their heads but the two together are a force to be reckoned with. When opportunity arises Donatella sets her own plan in to action, pulling the rug out from under not only Cristian but others in the mob world as well. This book is full of surprising twists and turns, the story is fast moving and cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and hot romance. Raisa Greywood, thank you for this great story & wildly entertaining ride. I am looking forward to checking out more of your work, hope to see more of it come to audio soon.

I loved how they took each role and made it their own, Tara Langella played the perfect Mia, badassery and all. Jay Adler’s Cristian was the perfect alpha-hole, a dominant mob boss, accent included. Both were great covering the secondary characters as well. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Breaking Donatella by Raisa Greywood is a dark romance set in the Leave Me Breathless world that I listened to on audio narrated by Tara Langella and Jay Alder.
The book does come with a note "The stories in the Black Rose Collection are considered dark romance. Some aspects may be sensitive for some readers."
This is the first book of Raisa's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the chemistry between Cristian and Donatella. Their relationship started on the wrong foot but you couldn't help but root for them.
Tara and Jay did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, captive romances, or romantic suspense.

Ella and Cristian are sworn enemies and will be marrying to prevent a war. Great characters with fun and steamy chemistry. The story is face paced with loads of drama, suspense and twists and turns. An entertaining and steamy mafia read. I loved it.

I swear this man is driving me crazy. How can I want to kill someone and then at the same time do dirty things to him? Because that's the case with Cristian.
He was VERY intense. Like through the roof! He had some really archaic beliefs about women and he really pissed me off because he had some really extreme behavior in the beginning. His lust though and passion..? Fucking hell.. 🙈🙈😈 I was literally reading the smutty scenes twice in order to make sure I was satiated enough to move on 🙈
Ella is a strong woman that Cristian wanted to marry in order for their families' fortunes to become one. They were both coming from important families and Cristian wanted to unite them. But it's not only that. He didn't just want Ella to be his wife. He wanted her to be obedient. To bow. To realize that as long as she was giving him what he wanted, he would take care of her.
Ugh..he was such an asshole in the beginning 🙈 But Ella was so strong! She wasn't going to break no matter what! She fought him, she scratched him, she escaped from him...she made him realize that if he wanted their wedding to work then he had to respect her.
As I've mentioned in an other review of mine, I'm not triggered easily. I enjoy intense and dark books, so as much as I wanted to strangle Cristian for his behavior sometimes I realized that I enjoyed reading this book. It is a page turner and somehow I knew that my girl Ella will bring Cristian on his knees. I knew that he would change...And he did. Because he realized what love is and how much he loved Ella. 🖤🖤
I give this 5 stars because I loved the plot, the characters, the smutt and the escalation. 🖤

The addition starts with the book covers….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!

Cristian Morettie wants to be the most powerful Don in Italy but to be that he must marry a Rossi and that is just what he intends to do by kidnapping Ella. He wants more than just marriage he wants total control; complete submission and he is prepared to do anything to make that happen. He realizes that she is a spitfire which he wasn’t prepared for he just assumed she would submit and if she doesn’t he is prepared to torture her until she see it his way. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the foresight or didn’t realize just how strong willed she was or her fear she feels from her family thus ensuring she fights him every turn so submitting isn’t on the table. It is violent, twisted, rough sex and dark but so delicious will it end on a HEA?

This was a great read and I can’t wait to read more by this author. Cristian Moretti wants to be the most powerful Don in Italy. To do that he needs to marry a Rossi. However, everyone thinks the last female Rossi is dead. That is farthest from the truth and Moretti knows the truth. Donatella Rossi has been alive and living in America under a different name. She goes by Ella Rose and is such a strong, vibrant and independent woman. Her mother wanted to keep her safe and Ella has done very well staying under the radar once her mother passed. All is about to come crumbling down in the look of a hot Italian Don. In order to marry her and merge their families, Cristian has to kidnap her. He wants more than Ella to be his wife, he wants her utter and complete submission and he will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Will Cristian be able to get her to submit to him or will he end up losing everything? There is suspense, secrets exposed, drama and some twists that were shocking. Once I started this, I could not put it down. I was glued to the edge of my chair and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. This story just flowed and never slowed down or dragged. These two are explosive together, in the bedroom and out. It was enjoyable seeing them together and the feistiness that Ella has. You definitely need to read this book.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much while reading a dark romance like this one. Ella and Cristian started out enemies with a common goal, even if Ella didn’t know about it. Even with how awful Cristian is at first, I knew that there would have to be something redeeming about him, and I was absolutely NOT disappointed. Ella remained strong and utterly formidable throughout, while Cristian had to come to terms with her strength, as well as how to match her without trying to demand fealty and love. Of course, he’s a man, so he failed spectacularly a few times before he caught the hint. But once he finally figured out how to win the woman, he did so in such a heartfelt, beautiful manner that I wished their story wouldn’t end.
This was my first foray into this author’s world, but it definitely won’t be my last. There was just so much to keep my attention and to keep me on the edge of my seat that I have to have more!

I was so into this from the very first page and I knew it was going to knock my socks off and I was not wrong at all. I loved Cristian and Donatella but I loved Donatella’s no nonsense attitude and the fact that she was tough and feisty. Both the characters were very determined people and knew what they wanted and would stop at nothing to achieve their goals. Add in to the mix some love, romance and the mafia and we have an amazing read by a new author. There were some dark moments but mostly it really is a story of love, honour and revenge between the Moretti and Rossi families. There was a massive twist which only adds to the intrigue of this story. So glad I took the chance and read this book because it absolutely loved it.

Raisa Greywood is a new to me author but since I have been loving the Leave Me Breathless series I decided to give her a try. I am so glad I did because Christian and Donatella's story is dark, twisty, and delicious. The writing is well done, the main characters are strong and have intense chemistry together. This book has it all rival mafia family drama, danger, intrigue, secrets, crazy fun banter, steam, unexpected twists, and a dark romance that had me captivated from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

A new author for me and I absolutely loved it! A very good storyline with plenty of action, humorous moments, suspense, twists and turns, unexpected surprises, hot chemistry, passion that becomes so much more. The characters are intriguing, strong, independent, controlling yet there’s a soft side under all the fire and stubbornness. I highly recommend this book it’s entertaining, exciting and captivating. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Breaking Donatello was nothing like I expected. I went in expecting the usual mafia romance, but that only lasted about two chapters. The rest of the story was completely unexpected. There were so many twists and turns you don’t want to walk away from the story. On top of that, I seriously want Ella for my best friend! She is sooo kick a$$!! I would love to see more books in this world just so I could see Ella and Christian again.

I was hooked right from the beginning and loved Donatella's feistiness. This turned out to be a very different mafia book than what I'm used to with the female lead taking charge and letting nothing stand in her way. Just not sure if a don would really change his tune in regards to business the way Cristian did in the end... but then again love conquers all, doesn't it?

This was exciting, suspenseful, utterly sexy, and so much fun to read. Ella and Cristian are fire together and I loved the back and forth and twists thrown in. As bumpy as their start was, it's perfect for them because we can see their growth as the story progresses. I couldn't put it down.

Love this story.
I loved this book. Ella gave Christian as much sass and back talk as he gave her. This romance happened in spite of them. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this type of book.

Oh, I love this book so much, I read it straight through.

I enjoyed this story. Breaking Donatella had a well written plot. Cristian and Donatella were strong characters, their connection and chemistry was strong, they were made for each other.

I enjoyed this tension packed, dark romance. Drama, twists, steam and emotion are combined into a potent brew that goes down very easily and has you feverishly looking for any spare minutes you can find to read just a few more pages. This is my frank, freely posted review.

This a new to me author and I definitely need to read more of her books. This series was brought to my attention by another author and the premise sounded so interesting I wanted to give it a try. Very happy I did. The characters are well fleshed out and so complicated and I could not stop myself from keeping reading since I needed to know what happened next. It is very sexy (okay ultra sexy) but that isn’t what I really liked about this story. It was the complexity of Cristian and Donatella’s relationship. There are twists and turns that I did not see coming and it was a thrilling read. Never underestimate the determination of a woman!

Raisa Greywood was a unknown author to me , but now after reading this book which is excellent BTW I have a wonderful author to follow. I love discovering new authors. This novel in the Leave Me Breathless Collection will have your mind whirling from the many twists and secrets that slowly make there way out into the open. I highly recommend this book and I personally can't wait to read more by this author.
