Mia is the third in the Lyrebird Lake series by Aussie author Fiona McArthur and this time, the story is about Mia and Angus Campbell. Angus’ father Ned was the founder of the Lyrebird Lake hospital, but twenty years prior Ned and Angus had had a falling out, and Angus left and didn’t return. Now he was back to let his son Simon (whom he’d only just met himself), meet his grandfather for the first time. Angus wouldn’t be staying though…

Angus was a man used to emergencies. He worked for the government, based in Brisbane and was sent to far off places whenever an emergency rescue was needed. He was strong and reticent, and had learned to keep his emotions well under cover. Mia hadn’t been at Lyrebird Lake for long; her so called fiancé had dumped her on learning she was pregnant, so Misty and Montana had intervened – her skills in midwifery were well needed at Lyrebird Lake.

Mia is another sweet romance set in Queensland on the edge of Lyrebird Lake, as the small community supported one another through life’s dramas, and the beautiful lyrebird with its mimicking call, showed itself to those needing miracles. Recommended.

With thanks to the author for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Mia is the third book in Fiona McArthur's Lyrebird Lake series.

In this story we follow Mia as she moves to Lyrebird Lake after a break-up with her fiance. Mia is to start the new supported home birth service attached to the hospital.
We get to revisit some much loved characters  from the previous books and Ned's long lost son returns which gives a love interest for Mia.

I love Fiona McArthur's female characters, they are feisty, strong women with minds of their own. They have a passion for their work and they want to instill that passion in everyone.
Fiona includes the danger of disused mine shafts that are dotted around the countryside and the suspense of a rescue mission had me holding my breath.
As with each of the books in this series Fiona has included a calm, serene and safe birth scene. there is also lots of community spirit with the small town celebrating and supporting each other.

I really enjoy these romance reads and it's always a joy to read a book that you are assured to finish with a smile on your face.

I am loving this series the small town of Lyrebird Lake and the characters are a joy to visit, MS McArthur has written a beautiful story filled with love and emotion as Mia and Angus find their soul mates and the happiness they so very much deserve this one left me feeling very happy, I do hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

Mia has arrived in Lyrebird Lake to join with her friends Montana and Misty working at the maternity birthing unit at the local hospital, Mia is pregnant and alone after her ex left her, she is not looking for love just a special place to bring her baby up with her friends. But when Dr. Angus Campbell arrives Mia is left wondering a lot about instant love she has never felt this way about a man before, where will this feeling lead?

Angus has arrived home with a son he didn’t know he had and to see if he can make amends with his father Ned Campbell he left on bad terms many years ago and has been working in disaster relief programmes all over the world, Angus does not do emotion at all but on seeing a beautiful woman in the hallway of the home he grew up in Angus seems to be fighting emotion from then on, Mia is beautiful and as they get to know each other he also finds that she is good at saying what she thinks.

I loved how Angus and Mia clicked the sensual pull was way too hard to ignore but once should have been enough, should have but it only seems to pull them more together and trying to stay apart is not easy with a wedding coming up. This is a beautifully written story it is witty and filled with emotion, I really loved both Angus and Mia they are such wonderful people even if Angus comes across a bit surly he has a heart of gold. Of course it was great catching up with Montana, Misty, Emma, Ned and Louisa they all make Lyrebird Lake the place to be, the place to find love and happiness especially if they meet up with the lyrebird.

I loved this one and highly recommend it and the series I am looking forward to Emma and another visit.

Thank you to the author for my digital copy to read and review

This is book 3 in the Lyrebird Lake series by Fiona McArthur and it is another thoroughly enjoyable romance about two people hit out of the blue by that spark of love who are both a little jaded by past experiences.

I really enjoyed getting to know Mia and Angus. Angus was a lovely guy, I felt sorry for him, the way his ex treated him but loved how he took on his grown son Simon. Mia’s character was a bit prickly towards Angus to start with, but completely understandable given what her ex had put her through and the fact she’s now expecting.

The dynamics between parents and their kids can be really complicated and it was like that between Angus and his father Ned and Angus and his newly acquired son, but it was nice to see those dynamics change as the week went on.

Simon was a great character, full of mischief and vitality, for a 19-year-old, he gave Angus some good advice as well as not being afraid to tell him how it was.

It was nice to get a glimpse of how Montana and Misty were going, as well as Emma who we met in book 1, I’m really looking forward to reading her story next, she deserves to find her Mr Right.

Lyrebird Lake definitely seems to be the place to find love, if it was a real place, I’d jump on a plane and head there tomorrow.

Thanks to Fiona McArthur for a digital copy of this book in return for an honest review.

The realisation of true love

What a lovely story of redemption for Angus. For many years he had believed himself to be incapable of having and maintaining a relationship. That is until he met Mia. They were both immediately attracted to each other. It did not take long for Mia's personality and love to win him over so that they were able to find their own happily ever after.

This story has a number of different emotional triggers, estrangement of father & son, cheating fiances, pending single parenthood, a child thought to have died at birth and a life threatening cave in rescue. It is woven into a deep and meaningful story that kept my interest to the last page.

Audio by. This series is definitely going downhill. Plot and characters were thin and storyline disjointed
