A New Adult small town second chance cowboy romance.
It’s been two long years since Jax and Jillian had a wild fling in her parents’ rental cabin over Christmas break, and almost a year since they've seen each other.
Jax and Jillian have kept in touch, but life has taken them in different directions. When Jillian decided to take two more years of college for her Veterinarian degree, and Jax lost his Uncle - leaving him the sole heir to a sprawling ranch in Montana - things just didn’t work out for them.
Recently graduated and with hundreds of hours of interning behind her, Jillian is hard pressed to find a job in the dwindling economy. When interviewer after interviewer turns her away, she fears she will never be able to pay her parents back all the tuition costs, and she's forced to move back in with them.
So, when Jax turns up out of the blue at her parents' house and fails to ask her if she’d like the position on his ranch as full-time head Vet, she decides to take things into her own hands and demands he hire her for the job that just happens to be 1700 miles across the country.
Is Jillian leaving behind family and friends for a job, or a chance to rekindle their love? Find out how their story continues in Chasing Mountains: Country Roads Romance
I really enjoyed this story. This was the first one of this authors that I've read and I will be looking for more. These two were bouncing off each other but with Jillian's twin brother as a buffer they eventually work things out with a few tough surprises in between. A pity I did not read the book before this but I do not want to go backwards, this one was good for me though.

I hope author Bethany Stroble likes this review because I will be going to her author page and find all of her books. I read romance, it is safe, happy, lovey-dovey, with a warm fuzzy feeling at the end. So that is what I was expecting a sweet, safe cowboy romance. My expectations were met and way surpassed. There is everything in this novel!!! Everything!! -family drama -ex loves -tension -suspense -environmental issues -second chance love -beautiful horses (I love the horse Stardust) -beautiful scenery (author paints a beautiful picture) -the absolute best book boyfriend you will find this year. And now I get to look forward to the Ranch hands finding their own happily ever afters in the Next book. 5 stars 5stars 5stars 5stars
Jax and Jillian have kept in touch since they had a brief fling, but they went off as their life took them and have not seen each other. Jillian had taken an additional two years of college to get her Veterinarian degree. Jax’s uncle died and left him a ranch in Montana. Their timing just didn’t work.
Now that Jillian made her dream a reality, she hasn’t been able to find a job! She returns home to her parents to live with them and figure out how to pay her parents back the expense of her education. The best plan she can think of is to demand Jax hires her. Do they still love each other? Is this a chance to start over again?
This is the 5th book I've read written by Bethany Strobel; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
Fantastic story line; when Jillian gets out of college and has trouble finding a job she moves back home with her parents; Jax is still in Montana and offers her a job as head vet on his ranch.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Jillian and Jax who had a thing but parted ways. Now Jillian is unable to find work and moves home to her parents. Jax offers her the head vet job at his ranch. This is their story. It's a second chance romance, moves quickly and smoothly with descriptive and detailed scenes and is a great book. I would recommend reading.

I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it, I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
The great love story of Jillian and Jax continues as they both grow together and learn they can't live without each other. Ranch life is a hard, crazy ride but somebody's got to do it... A Great love story chalk full of adventure and laughter.
