For fans of Everyone Poops, a hilariously fresh take on POO! A trip to the zoo turns into a hilarious discussion about poo, as two siblings wonder what sort of poo each and every creature or inanimate object would do.
One day, Daddy Rat announces to his baby rats that he'll be taking them to the zoo . . . but only if they're good, which means no talking about poo! And yet, before the family can even leave the house, the two rascally siblings can't help but wonder . . . what sort of poo would an astronaut do? Shiny, silver, space-age poo! Rocket-powered, weightless poo, and it spins round and round like a planet does, too!
Head chefs, balloon sellers, blue whales . . . everyone and everything must have a unique poo, and the siblings simply have to stop and imagine each and every one (much to the chagrin of Daddy Rat, who is getting increasingly irritated with all the poo talk). Once the rats finally reach the zoo, things escalate, because of course each and every animal in the zoo must do a special kind of poo! Finally, Daddy Rat has simply had enough, and is forced to sit down and explain the facts to his curious kids. And when he thinks he may have gotten through to his youngsters, he encounters a surprising (and smelly) twist which will have little rats everywhere laughing out loud!
This delightful book will be a HUGE hit with kids. It is for fans of "Everyone Poops" and it won't disappoint.
A Daddy rat decides one day to take his baby rats to the zoo and prohibits them to think or talk about poo. Of course that is almost impossible because before they even depart on their adventure they wonder what sort of poo an astronaut would do... perhaps shiny, silver, futuristic poo? Oh my, they seem to be obsessed with the stinky subject.
On their travels the little rats imagine how a tiny French poodle and her master might poo. They also ponder the poo from a head chef, a balloon seller, a man with a tattoo, an ice cream scooper and a variety of animals living at the zoo. Their imaginative speculations are hysterical and very creative. Finally Daddy has reached the end of his rope with this unending parade of poo talk and he takes his little ones to meet the Pookeeper. Daddy rat explains to his pups how the poo is used to help make the trees grow and the fruits and flowers too. Daddy hopes this is the end of their poo fixation but there is one more smelly surprise to contend with at the very end of the book that kids will love.
Kids will laugh at loud as their Daddy ends the tale with two words.... "OH POO!" Whatever could have happened to make him to utter those words!
The illustrations are extremely well done and they go perfectly with the text. Kids love anything to do with gross body functions and they will ask for the book to be read again and again. I highly recommend it.
Always funny to talk about poo, and to watch the dad get angrier and angrier that the kids are talking about it. Fun to imagine the silly-looking poops others might do, and there is a page where kids can match the imagined silly poop to the creature who did it. It's in word bubble style so there is no narrator, giving adults and kids the chance to talk about what's happening in their own words. Not sure if it would work for a storytime, but it would be a riot for at-home reading.
How’s Poo? by Daisy Bird is a hilarious take on poop. Many young children are fascinated with poo and it can be the cause of many giggles. This book will certainly add to the hilarity of bodily functions. I’m not totally sure it would be one you would want to share with a large group of children as it could go horribly wrong but shared with your own children at home you will be rolling on the floor laughing at this hilarious tale.
I received this ebook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a cute little book about not talking about poo, which of course means that they talk about poo because their mom says not to! The two little mice wonder what kind of poo each person or animal would make, and it is a really cute and funny book.
An adorable book that demystifies poo for children. I loved reading about he adventure of Daddy Rat and his little ones who can’t stop marveling about poo. This book is wonderful and also has great matching activities to enjoy with your little one.

Two little mice go on a trip to the zoo with their dad, but only if they're good, which means no talking about poo! (Guess what they talked about the entire time?)
We enjoyed the illustrations, and the story was cute. It definitely leaned into the poo thing, obviously. Benny loved the matching poo page. Overall, not the worst book from this week's library haul.
Although I liked the ending, most of this story was just potty talk. I understood why the parent kept asking the children to stop talking about poo. Two children are on their way to the zoo. They talk about what everyone’s poo would look like on the way. There are lots of oo rhymes. The ending discussed the usefulness of poo.
I tend to shy away from potty humor, and even though this book is basically a bunch of potty jokes mixed with cute perspectives on the stuff, there are some sweet and funny moments and children will eat it up!
Some littles are going to enjoy this imaginative story of poo as imagined by two young rats! Story ends on a really funny note littles will enjoy! Funny! Illustrations were entertaining.
I received a Kindle arc from Netgalley in exchange for a fair review.
Thanks to NetGalley and Tundra Books for a free digital copy for my review.
A gross yet cute book about these baby rats and what they imagine everyone's poop to be like. With the most delightful illustrations, this book was a pleasant surprise. And they learn the lesson that all poo is poo.
While I don’t get the whole poop emoji thing, this book is a laugh riot. Two little mice talk about what type of poo other mice or animals might have. This is not a learn about animals book, this is have fun saying the wood poo book and it works.
A dad rat will take his two rat children to the zoo as long as they don't talk about poo. What happens when you tell someone, especially a child, not to do something? The rat children imagine the poo for everyone they pass until dad rat notices, a little too late.
Surprisingly, we really enjoyed this one! We always enjoy a good rhyme, and while the book maybe borders on icky (it is about poo, after all), it was very silly. Exactly what we needed during potty training, and sitting on the toilet!
Whose Poo? By Daisy Bird is a cute little book about poop. Quite humorous and the illustrations are delightful. I just reviewed Whose Poo? by Daisy Bird. #NetGalley
I cannot imagine any young readers no loving this hilariously silly book about two imaginative baby rats speculating about what poo every creature would do.
This book was funny and a perfect way for my kids to get their potty humor out. The illustrations are very cute, and the book is clever. This has become a family favorite!
