A really good book and a must have for any Marvel lover young or old!
I have totally geeked out over this book. I love Marvel, movies, TV and comics! I am an all round geeky girl. This book is a lovely hard back book and covers all I can think of within the Marvel monster realm, from Gigantus to Groot to Man-Thing. It gibes you the low down and tells you about their first appearance, strengths and abilities, first appearance and sometimes references TV and movies. It has their height, weight, origin, powers summarised and where known a double page diagram of their anatomy!
All monsters are categorised and there is an index at the back to find exactly what you looking for quickly. The artwork is amazing, keeping it mainly retro but also recognising the more modern artwork in places.
This book is a worthy contender for any Collector (he is mentioned too) and is presented well for adults or the younger collector. This is a good introduction to the monster world of Marvel, especially as monsters seem to be the way Marvel films are heading right now. Great buy and i highly recommend! I love this and i will treasure it.
A great book that not only talks about well known monsters like Dracula, Man-Thing or Groot but it also covers monsters that I have never heard of like Titano, the Apocalypse Beast, and Leviathan Mother. I do wished more monsters had an anatomy page since they do reveal a lot of cool stuff about those monsters like how they physically function. I also like that they included teams that have monsters but I do hope they do another volume since they were some monsters that should have been in here like the Brood.
I'm not a huge comic book reader, so most of these monsters were news to me. I did like the blurbs about each one and the recommended reading for their stories. I can see this being a great book to own for Marvel fans who quickly wanna read up on a monster or teach someone about a character that's been adapted for a movie or TV show.
This one was a little easier to understand since it was approached like trading cards-- profiles of the various monsters and where/how they first appeared in comics and what their traditional uses as a monster has been.
Amazing visuals with the biographies of each creature.
Näistähän oli suurin osa unohtunut, vanhana sarjakuvafriikkinä oli hauska kerrata tätäkin puolta Marvelista. Hahmogalleria osin surkuhupaisa, aikansa lapsia.
