This is the first non fiction book I read in English. It is a nice fascinating book that (as it appears from the title) talks about world history from ancient civilizations to the modern world in 60 chapters consisting of two pages in average. The good thing about this book is that although it is not detailed, it covers world history in a good way as an introductory book (Timeline of world history), besides the authors try to be not biased and to be less eurocentric to some extent.Overall I recommend this book to anyone wants to know a brief information about world history and I think he will like it because it is not just text , there are images, charts and in context box that will help the reader to understand the topic of the chapter even if he is unfamiliar about it.

Read this book on and off for 2 years, in between books. Quick bursts of history, broken down in easy nuggets of info, and super clear timelines. I didn’t pay attention to a lot of this in school 🤣 so was a good refresher and (still very current).

Although the title says "Little book," it provides detailed explanations of the history and themes (religion, ideology, important people, etc.) of the East and West.

It is a DK book, the images are black and white, not color.

4.5/5, very concise and eloquently written. My only complaint is that the formatting was a bit irritating due to the flowcharts, graphics and pictures being poorly placed most of the time so that they end up breaking the flow of writing and pull you out of the reading experience. Other than that, it's a great taster into history for anyone looking to gain more general knowledge or gain a strong basis to work off of.
