Penny Lake #3

Marrying Simone

Rate this book
Since her husband passed away, Simone's days in Australia have become repetitive and predictable. Her friends are driving her mad introducing her to eligible men and her busy daughters are no better, always wanting her available for babysitting. When she is offered a house swap, she takes the opportunity to begin a new chapter of her life in England.

Meanwhile, in Wiltshire, wildlife photographer Russ has just taken possession of a new house to enjoy the quiet of the countryside while he recovers from a serious injury. Little does he expect to be so taken with his temporary next-door neighbour from the other side of the world .

Can be such a good storyteller.. can be heartwarming BUT... annoying and consistently repetitive dialogues feature in most books particularly the ones set in present-time.
I mostly enjoyed her books set in earlier times the cliches were more in line with the thinking back then.

N.B. Fantastic Fiction is a brilliant way to check on all authors books. Highly recommend!

Rather repetitive

I don't think these latest series are anywhere near as good as previous ones. The storyline is always the same with a baddie doing ridiculous things and unbelievable plots to fool them and of course always someone falling in love at first sight.
They just aren't enjoyable anymore and so shallow , no depth like in previous books.

I really enjoyed this book especially when it was about living in two countries England and Australia. I recommend this book to my family and friends.

Good story as always

I enjoyed this story ,Penny Lake sounded a lovely place to live the people that lived were all different types but very nice friendly people.Simon's daughters relied on her to much to help them instead of having a life of her own the house swap was a good decision and she got to meet her extended family that she had never met her Aunt Henrietta sounded really lovely and Russ was a lovely man to i liked all the characters in this story and the other 2books in this series i would recommend this author to all readers.

Simone and Russ

I love penny Lake books I want to live there I get involved in the characters and this one was no different simone was fed up of just being a baby sitter to her grandchildren and no life for herself so a house swap comes up from her lovely australia to Wiltshire in UK she had 24 hours to make up her mind she decided to take it and her life turned around but like Anna's books there had to be drama . So yes 5 STARS for a really fantastic book x.

A very good read. I have enjoyed the Penny Lake series. Have picked up an Anna Jacobs phrase of “Don’t you think so “ which makes me giggle every time she uses it 😂

A good read, although I m now finding Anna's books quite repetitive. Would like to see more of the life of Henrietta though in the big house.

A very different but similar story.

I started off quite slowly with this book but it then became a very interesting story about. I loved the part about the intruders.

This was a great book and a great series. Loved the characters and the plot. I must admit though I like her older series better.

Another great story I just had to keep reading. I’m going through so many books each week of this author. Can’t wait to start the next book.

There were parts of this book I really enjoyed - comparing living in Australia and the UK for example and Simone’s family dynamics
