Terrific Story and I liked the heroine!

The setting: Russia
The Hero: Gideon – Alpha male, former spy for Great Britain. He was betrayed and left for dead by the heroine Daphne. Now he wants revenge but also wants to get back at everyone who hurt her in the past (conflicted much?).
The heroine: Daphne (Petal) – I liked Daphne a lot better in this book. We find more about what exactly she is doing with the Sekt. We also find out more about her awful childhood. She is still a tough and dangerous person but much more relatable in this book.
The Love Story: Both Gideon and Daphne never thought they would have feelings for anyone else. They never thought they would have feelings one way or another. However, they can’t get over the fact that they are feeling things for each other.
I just couldn’t get “in” to Savage Kingdom until the last half of the book and I didn’t like Daphne at all. I think it was mainly because she could do something about some of the things she was enduring but didn’t. We find out more about her reasons in this book, but also she is actually doing something to change her circumstances in this book.
To say her background was awful is to say I just sort of like hot guys with great abs. It was about as terrible as you can get without being murdered at a young age, but the fact that she is trying to make things better, not just for herself but for others is her redemption.
The romance with Gideon is hot! For someone who lacks empathy, he turns out to be a great boyfriend to her. I loved the fact that he and Bastian become friends, though he is totally jealous that Bas had been with Daphne in the past. Their camaraderie is funny and the scene when Damien comes to Bastian’s room when Gideon is there, is hilarious. I totally recommend this book (even if the first half of Savage Kingdom is a bit of a struggle as it was for me), it was worth it.

C. Lymari was meant to be a dark romance writer! She wrote some amazing books but when she switched to the dark side and wrote Falcon’s Prey, I was hit with awe! But this series so far has blown me off my feet!!
Gideon and Daphne are a match made in Hell. The perfect power couple that could take over the world if Daphne wouldn’t keep pushing Gideon away. But after Daphne betrayed Gideon and left him to die, Gideon was on a mission to exact his revenge. But Gideon doesn’t know the whole truth. The secrets are vast and mighty and when Gideon realizes what’s happening and what it’s doing to his Petal, will he be able to go through with it? Or will he see Daphne in a different light? The Sekt is still mysterious, they are the definition of twisted and when you think you know what’s happening you might wind up with a dagger in your back.
I am beyond excited for more from C. Lymari! She is definitely a 1-click author for me no matter whether she writes light or dark books, in all in!

At last...I got to read the amazing conclusion for Gideon and Daphne....and it nothing like I was expecting and so much more... This extraordinary series has seriously hooked me to the dark dangerously delicious world of the SEKTEN.
So the Sekten is a secret society who breeds and work with Assasins and Daphne is one of them...-She has gone through soo much to become the monster they all wanted her to be.
The book starts of with where it left you in the last book with the scene of Daphne leav-ing Gideon to die with a kiss of Goodbye and Gideon screaming and threatening her with Revenge if he survives....Well guess what......HE LIVES!!!!
Now, Gideon is thirsty for Revenge on Daphne.He travelled all around the world to confront and in the end to kill her. But when he does finds her.....He finds more than he was anticipating. The lies-... the secrets ..the hidden agenda...all are unvieled and love and hate for Daphne clashed on him...Now, the real question is What will be the outcome of this war of love and hate? Will the secrets finally be revealed enough to see both of them in new light?
I have never loved a Couple more than I do Dapne and Gideon.....A true match made in HELL.
We learned about the inside story of what made Dapne A monster in Book #1 but here we learned more and her story m-akes m-e tear up to think how suc-h an innocent girl was m-ade to go through so much terror and traumatized for life.
LOVE between Dapne and Gideon was always been accompanied with Hate but maybe the scale is unabalanced and love will win?
C.Lymari ..You are made to write dark romance...An absolute brilliant series you hav-e writen And I can't wait to find out what more hapens in this world of SEKTEN.

I am still at a loss for words on writing this review and its been almost 2 days since I finished. It created soooo many emotions just as Savage Kingdom did. C definitely nailed how to make us feel when reading this. She wrote her soul into these words to feel every single thing: failure, betrayal, abandonment, heartache, pain, love and hope.
Cruel Crown is the 2nd book of the Sekten series by C. Lymari. It picks up right where Savage Kingdom left off, with Daphne leaving behind Gideon in the Columbian Jungle.

C. Lymari delivered another nail-biting, intense and captivating story in her second book of the Sekt Series.
Cruel Crown starts off exactly where that jaw-dropping cliffhanger from book one left us. There are so many twists and turns that I had to read it in doses because my nerves could only take so much.
I don't think I have ever loved a heroine as much as I do Daphne. She's a monster but that monster has a story. As more of her story unfolds, in both Savage Kingdom and Cruel Crown, I fall more and more in love with her. She is the opposite of every heroine I have read before and I absolutely love it!
The writing in this story is incredibly vivid. It's like I'm there but yet I don't always want to be - especially when it's about the past. It left me mourning the younger versions of themselves.
This is truly a dark romance. It's raw, gritty, and even ugly at times. But it's also incredibly hot, and dare I even say romantic (though I'm not sure Daphne and Gideon would appreciate that).
I can't wait to see what happens next in this series because, well, Bas - need I say more?

'He was a blessing and a curse. So it made baring my soul ten times harder than giving him my body'
I couldn't be anymore obsessed with Daphne if I tried. The chemistry in this book is out of this world and the need for a happy ending was INTENSE.
This book is reckless, daring and FULL of plot twists keeping the reader on the edge of their seat the entire time. I absolutely love C Lymari for her unpredictable stories. Once she had me guessing, I did not put the book down until I finished.
Daphne is one of my favourite heroines, she is fiery, temperamental and untamed and this makes her the absolute best part of this story. Along comes her only weakness and we see a softer side to D which is surprisingly heart warming.
The Sekt is full of secrets, surprises and I cannot wait to find more along this journey of unpredictability.

Dark, twisted, unpredictable, delicious and simply perfect in every single page, this is what Cruel Crown by C. Lymari is.
This is the second book in the series and picks up right after the unpredictable events at the ending in book one (Savage Kingdom). The emotion and intensity of this book kept me at the edge of my sit throughout the whole book.
Gideon wants revenge and he is after Daphne. He will go literally to the end of the world to find her, but he will find more of what makes Daphne this lethal weapon and the reasons behind some of her actions.
Daphne is still on mission with her plan but will be shock to find the one she left behind seeking revenge towards her.
Gideon and Daphne are the perfect puzzle pieces that complete each other so well. Two broken halves
that fit so well in this dark world that is the Sekten series.

I’m not sure this review can actually give proper credit to what I’ve just read, to the talent that is C Lymari.
I never make any secret of the fact that I love this author. Her books are a no brainer automatic one click for me. She has switched from romcom small town romance to dark bully/mafia effortlessly, with Savage Kingdom and now Cruel Crown. Each book is better than the last.
This book might be dark but the heat there is flammable. Gideon, well there are no words. That man is .....
If you are a thrill seeker, this gives you an exhilarating read full of mystery, angst, revenge and all the darkness your soul could desire.
C Lymari ,I take my hat off. This world of darkness you created has got yet another new resident.

Cruel Crown is book 2 in the Sekten series. Book 1 must be read before this one.
C.Lymari has just solidified the fact that dark romance is where she belongs. She was born to write dark romance which she showcases in this deliciously dark duet.
Please beware of the trigger warning at the start because C.Lymari doesn’t pull any punches.
Daphne. Oh Daphne. This woman has been through it and come out the other side a million times stronger and ready to fight. I fell in love with her in Savage Kingdom but her strength and her fight puts her on my favourite heroines list.
Gideon. I have no words for that dude! 😂 he is deliciously fucked up, every girls worst nightmare, yet I fucking love him with all of my heart. Him and Daphne just fit together, even though they shouldn’t.
Their love story had my heart in my stomach, my heart racing and me going out of my mind! The push and pull and the sexual chemistry was nearly unbearable but I was here for it!
If you love dark romances with lots of triggers then read this duet. I couldn’t have loved it more if I tried.

Gideon. I have no words for that dude! 😂 he is deliciously fucked up, every girls worst nightmare, yet I fucking love him with all of my heart. Him and Daphne just fit together, even though they shouldn’t.
Their love story had my heart in my stomach, my heart racing and me going out of my mind! The push and pull and the sexual chemistry was nearly unbearable but I was here for it!
If you love dark romances with lots of triggers then read this duet. I couldn’t have loved it more if I tried.

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown- Henry IV, Part II.
Cruel Crown is the second book in the Sekten series by C Lymari and happens to pick up where Savage kingdom ended. I finished this book about a week ago and have had the hardest time writing a review. My thoughts and comments are all jumbled in my head. I also do not want to tell you the plotline of CC.
Cruel Crown was everything I expected it to be and more. As with Savage Kingdom, Cruel Crown, was full of multiple emotions. Such as haunting, stunning, heated, passionate, fiery, feisty, and of course, the incredible push and pull between Gideon and Daphne.
Gideon was put into a precarious situation, thanks to Daphne, and now is determined to exact his revenge. However, what happens when he catches up with his precious Petal? What happens when they realize, they’ve ‘caught feelings’?
Claudia has written another winner with Cruel Crown. The plot line, story line, and flow were melded so well, they just wrapped you up in all three in sheer perfection. The emotions are all forthright with an undercurrent of “the only one to truly have my back is me”, but, Gideon and Daphne are beginning to realize that they don’t need to be alone and may be able to count on each other.
There is an organization that does not have their back and if you think they do, then be prepared for a whole host of issues, such as a knife in the back, kidnapped and beaten. The organization is the Sekt. They are still greedy and mysterious and very singular. They are all about making the Sekt/higher up members more powerful.
Claudia Lymari certainly knows how to write a fabulous, incredible, dark, and twisted book/series. I love all her books, but I truly feel she has found her niche in writing in the dark romance, taboo setting!!

'Cruel Crown' is the second book of the 'Sekten' series by C. Lymari. This book was horrific is most delicious of ways!
I am totally addicted. I am not even kidding , it just took a few chapters for this book to climb to my top reads! After that punch to the gut cliffhanger in the first book , this book started right from there and I couldn't wait to read it!
Gideon has been betrayed. What hurts the most is that , the betrayal came from the woman he thought he loved. Now he is on his way to revenge , and nothing is going to come in his way. Daphne has finally achieved her goal. But it cost her the man who saw her dark soul and never complained. She had to leave him to die in order to complete her goal. Even after succeeding , happiness is the last thing she feels.
The sekten world is now my top favourite one and I can't wait to read more from this series! There are so many amazing side characters left who deserve their stories and I can't wait to delve into those. A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers, but please keep in mind that this series is dark! The things that were done to daphne were unfathomable and some scenes of the book are triggering. This book takes darkness on an amazing delicious level and I loved every word of it!

Cruel Crown is the second book in the Sekten series and picks up immediately after Savage Kingdom. These books should definitely be read in order. After being left to die, Gideon vows revenge on Daphne, but will he be able to extract revenge on his petal or will his feelings get in the way?
These two understand each other so well because they are similar. It’s not easy for them to let their guard down around each other, but when they do, we get to see a different side of these characters that’s a smidge softer. Daphne and Gideon are pitted against each other, but will they find that they only way to come out on top is to work together?
This book was a rollercoaster ride. It’s dark, twisted, and exhilarating. The Sekten world is not for the weak and it’s truly survival of the fittest. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

If you you have read book 1, you'll understand me how I felt about that ending. I was thristy and Claudia just enjoyed let me have just a taste of that water i craved like crazy. I wanted more. I'll be honest, Claudia doesn't write a book, to have an ordinary type of feedback, such as" oh I liked your book, or that's great". She's that kind of author who wants and majestically knows how to drive you crazy, to make you feel her story through your veins, to possess your mind and squeeze your heart.
It's all about authentic feelings. And that's why Cruel crown gives you more but in a rough way. Even the romantic parts of this story are dark, dense, addictive, dirty, challenging.
This story is an excellent psyco puzzle challenge, always playing between past and present. Always keeping you on edge with a thousand questions on your mind.
Daphne, dear God that woman is a masterpiece, an heartless queen who shine in the dark? Maybe because only G can see her real shine in the darkness. They click? Absolutely, but in their own way!
From the outside, you'll have so many reasons to judge Daphne, for her choices, or way to act, but take a minute and see beyond the superfice. Just like Gideon. Only then, you'll see all of her!

I don't even have words to explain how much I fucking loved this book. C. Lymari has an insane talent for writing darkly delicious romance, and Cruel Crown is her best work yet.
Gideon and Daphne are fire and ice, strong, badass, sexy characters who I fell in love with even more. I definitely don't want to give away any details that might spoil this story, because it's better to go in blind, but this duet is something that every dark romance lover should read. And the ending is just pure perfection for them.
I cannot wait to see what comes next from this world and this author 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I was hooked from the first page and couldn't get enough of this dark, twisted yet delicious epicness.
Giedon became hotter, how? He just did.
His protectivness towards Daphne shoned through all the darkness of the story and made you fall at your knees for him.
His dominace yet his kindness just had me melting.
I loved seeing the softer side to Daphne even though she was still a bad ass.
These two together. Are just hot hot hot.
Their chemistry, their passion, their banter just has you captivated from start to finish.
Cruel Crown is an amazing dark read with enough passion and sweetness to still have you begging for more.

After being left hanging after book one, was looking forward to getting answers and boy did we get them, just not all were expected.
You'll be sent on a rollercoaster of emotions with no safety bar and be glued to the spot from cover to cover.
I could not get enough and found myself white knuckling my kindle more often than not.
I'm keeping my review short and sweet as I don't want to give anything away.
Cannot wait for more in this series.

Where do I start? This has been the question with this review. Claudia Lymari was meant to write dark. She has this dark twisted side inside of her that was just waiting to come out.
Gideon and Daphne are a perfect match. Both ruthless and cold who give no second thoughts to killing you. The draw between them is magnetic. They cannot help but to gravitate towards each other. Two soulless killers who managed to let one another in.
Gideon wants revenge on Daphne for what she's done to him. The problem is his heart got involved and it wants Daphne. He might just love her more than he hates her. Daphne refuses to allow Gideon to get close. Her heart got involved and she doesn't want him dead. See when you're an assassin you can't do things like fall in love. That person can be used against you.
Cruel Crown is the perfect conclusion to Gideon and Daphne's story. Disney has nothing on this dark, twisted love story.
Lymari has yet to leave me with speechless and wondering what goes on in her head. I was on the edge of my seat reading, and couldn't put Cruel Crown down. The Sekten world is filled with secrets, lies, and murder. These characters have so much depth that I never want to stop reading.
The Sekton series is a must read! I cannot explain what Lymari has done with this book. I will not do it justice. Cruel Crown is a 5 star must read! Gideon and Daphne are just phenomenal characters that hooked me right away.

I want more!! What a great read, it has action, blood, steamy scenes and a kickass leading lady.
Gideon is angry because he never thought Daphne would betray him like that but with the help of someone 😉 he gets better and goes after the woman he hates/love while Daphne is making plans to bring down Damian. I kinda feel for Daphne because she has to work so hard to get free, doing things no one would want to do and she has to leave or destroy anything that ties her down because it could turn into a weakness.
I fell in love with how Gideon is with Daphne and vice versa, they have this cute way of showing they care towards each other with glares and nasty words 😆 is to freakin beautiful!!! They have great chemistry. Both are strong stubborn people result of their past and specially her, she has a tougher core because she was always being used even as a little girl and has never been loved the way Gideon wants to love her but when she lets it happen it’s so beautiful, she changes with him and for the better, she is still a badass woman just with someone by her side.
Another thing I loved was Bas and Gideon, they have a unique bros relationship and their sarcasm is so funny, want to see more of them too.
Over all it was a great read, the characters are well developed and the plot was very entertaining with lots of secrets as one would expect of a secret cult club, totally recommended.

I finished Cruel Crown several days ago and I’m still not sure I have the right words to do it justice. One thing I can tell you with absolute certainty is that C. Lymari has truly found her calling writing dark romance! She is killing it with this series! I love the characters, the writing, the plot twists...I could go on and on.
Cruel Crown picks up where Savage Kingdom left us with that jaw dropping cliffhanger. I was on the edge of my seat, bitting my nails (there’s nothing left to them 🤪) as I walked through the jungle with Gideon wondering what he would do next 😳. Then there’s Daphne, plotting to take over the world, and broke her own heart in the process.
All the secrets that come out in this book broke my heart. The fact that Daphne is still out there kicking a$$ and taking names, tells you just how strong she really is. She is one of my all time favorite heroines to date. She is bada$$ and Gideon is one lucky guy 😜.

OMGOMGOMGOMG C LYMARI YOU ARE SOOO TALENTED , My emotions are all over the place after finishing the amazing book by one of my all time favorite authors . Cruel Crown is boo two in the Sekten series it can't be read as a standalone I also highly recommend that you read Falcons prey before you read book one and two . The characters are just well written I fell for them even more in this one I didn't want to put my kindle down my heart dropped so many times I didn't want to stop reading so me being me sat one the floor while my kindle was charging till the very end well worth it .Can't wait for the next book in the series and I can't wait to read more by the author in the future .

Daphne has been stuck in this world her whole life but Gideon has not. Thanks to a few maneuvers he is learning now. This places them both in danger to say the very least. I couldn't book the book down once I got started. A truly fantastic story. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

I have so much love for this series. It is completely addictive and Gideon and Daphne are two of my favourite characters.
It took me a minute to get back into the story because I have the memory of a goldfish, but after a few chapters I was back to being addicted. This is definitely a series you want to binge read as book two flows on from book one and you are immediately thrown back into the action.
I was 100% invested in Gideon and Daphne and desperately wanted them to get their HEA. The chemistry, tension and push/pull or their relationship had me compleyely consumed.
I flew through this book way too quickly and highly recommend to all you dark romance lovers. The Sekten series is one of the best I have read this year!

Cruel Crown by C. Lymari picks up after the first installment in series and I was so happy to see both present and past work into the story like the previous book!
I loved how well developed the characters became the more that was read, with the first books cliffhanger it was hard to see how Daphne and Gideons relationship would pick up after but finding out secrets and having some mishaps that led them to more intimate settings it was throughly another great read!

ARC Review
A twisted and amazing story that will enrapture your heart from beginning to end and then some!
‘Cruel Crown’ by C Lymari is the second book in the ‘Sekten’ series and it has a very unique format. This book is the ending, for now, to Gideon and Daphne’s POV but not the end to their story nor to their war.
In fact, in this book, sh*t will hit the fan and things are gonna get messyyyy!
Okay so let me start by stating how much I already loved Daphne and Gideon, I fell for them and their unusual and intricate love story in the first book in the series and if I have to be honest, I did not expect nor saw coming the kind of ending we got in this book but I find it very fitting.
This story is a complex one that involves many players other than the two main characters, it will leave you wondering sometimes and completely in shock other times. But overall, it will capture and hold your attention throughout.
I loved every chapter I read, I loved how easily it was to just get lost in the character’s mind and their crazy actions.
I enjoyed their shenanigans and back-and-forths, their off-the-charts passions and their hate-to-love kind of love.
I would’ve liked to see a bit more explanations given but if I have to be honest, I’m not completely mad about it because it is really just making me super excited to see what comes next!
Daphne is a crazy, sometimes impulsive, but always ten steps ahead of the whole world kind of gal.
She is a skilled and deadly Sekt member with her own agenda and her own plans to change things in her world.
She is adaptable and always on top of her game, but on top of being a deadly woman that could bring kingdoms to their knees, she is also human.
In this second part of her story, you will get to see another side to her that will just bring her closer to your heart.
Gideon is a psychopath lone-wolf mercenary who is still trying to figure out how to properly function with emotions and still battling a love/hate relationship.
He is twisted and a bit crazy, especially when it comes to his Petal, but he is also extremely caring and attentive.
He is an incredible man, with a darker side to him that will bring you to your knees from the get-go!
Their relationship cannot be called conventional, in fact, there’s almost nothing normal about Gideon and Daphne.
Their relationship is a one-of-a-kind, I-wanna-burn-you-alive-while-also-f*ck-you-until-the-end-of-times kinda relationship and I gotta say, I am HERE for it!
Seeing these characters grow and evolve despite everything that gets thrown at them is mesmerizing.
Seeing them overcome their fears and doubts, letting themselves just be who they are and especially, seeing their more human side in comparison to their killer side is beautiful.
I also loved getting to know a few new characters that already have me extremely intrigued and just anxiously waiting for their time to shine!
If you are ready to dive into a crazy, dark, twisted, sinister and intriguing world that will consume your soul until all it leaves behind is remnants of who you were, then this is the masterpiece for you!
