The emptiness was always there.

I considered myself decent at hiding it, masking it with normal human emotions. But the darkness, there was no getting away from it. My nightmares helped fill it with what I never cared to elaborate.

I needed to feel something to numb the pain.

Then I saw her from across the room, and her beauty bewitched me. I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

So pure.

So perfect.

So beautiful.

But it was all a facade. When no one was looking, her disguise fell. And I saw a glimpse of the pain behind the beauty.

What a beautiful, emotional and sensual story ❤❤❤
Lym ones again wrote a perfect book about an imperfect couple. You think probably, no one is perfect and you are probably right.
But the thing about Lym's books is, they are hard-edged and authentic written, they touch topics that are not comfortable to read about and create a unique atmosphere of reading a journal of someone's life.
I'm always feeling like I'm middle in the story reading her books and feel the urge to help the characters.

This is a dark romance, that describes the emotional and mental struggle after surviving very
traumatic and painful experiences in the childhood.
How do you overcome a trauma that has been your companion for years?
How do you forget the terrible things from your childhood that haunt you in your dreams?
How do you find your way to normal life when you never learned how to live a normal life?
How do you learn to forgive yourself sins that you cannot undo, that plague you every day and are not yours to blame for?

This book deals with so many complex subjects that have their roots in the childhood and all of them lead to the broken psyche as an adult.

I don't want to spoil this book for you, therefore I decided to write some of the questions that popped up in my head after and during reading this amazing book.
I love these broken characters and their fight for normality and their love for each other.
It's an raw and emotional story.
I was sad when the book was over, I would like to read more about the finally happy part of their life.

This is the 4th book in the Imperfectly Perfekt series.
It's a standalone with an unbelievable beautiful and unique HEA.

5 “We’re all a little broken.” Stars⭐
A Sensual Emotional Steamy story showing the Ups & Downs of Life with Thrilling Suspense. I SAVORED this!
#My 1st By Lym, I'm so going for More! I loved how The author wrote about Sensitive topics. Both of our MCs Went through Abuse (Different types) as Kids. It broke my heart. I'm so glad both Grew into Beautiful (& a little fucked up, but that's Understandable) Souls.

This Story is entirely from Ash's PoV. Ashley (Our heroine) & Raymond (Our hero) are both very complex characters, we slowly saw their different aspects. All Characters had flaws, As the Story progresssed, I fell in Love with'em all, Especially Ash & Ray! AND I hated the Bad ones with a passion.

Ash was born into Money but Currently Works as a Waitress [Backstory ALERT!]. At their bar, a mysterious Stranger, Ray's Regular. He always Ignores Ash, & that intrigues her. She wants him.. She'll Get him.
Fate seems to put their paths together until finally Ray Snaps (At a Pub) & Desire Reigns! Their Coupling was intense..The Connection Soulful. Different.
So he made a Deal: 1 month of Fucking without Strings. (He's a Wealthy Businessman from New York & in California for a vacation.) She's up for it, What can go wrong?

Neither wanted a relationship but as they Spend Time together, their connection grew.
3 Incidents which changed her Forever.
. & As they're Revealed..I absolutely loved how Ray reacted! *Swoon*. The Person who hurt her will Pay..Ray & her Parents will make sure of it.

Ray & Ash didn't want to let eachother go..Cue Holidays time Together!
“What happens after New York?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. But no matter what happens, I will always be here for you, Ashlyn. All you have to do is reach out. Always.”  It was a promise.

Here we find more about him, His Reality, The people in his life. ~Fun, His birthday, Christmas, Fundraiser, Sexy times, Feelings budding..
“There is only you.” Attraction was the magnet that had brought us together. I gravitated towards this extraordinary man who captured my attention, and the more I was exposed to him, the more all these emotions bloomed into something…more.

But then Things happen, She finds about his Painful Past..She doesn't Deserve him, She'll end up breaking him. Cue Her Insecurities & their Break up. ~1st She'll find her drive in Life, Find HERSELF..Then maybe They'll have their HEA.
And 18 months later, She's ready, with a kickass good Plan.. Moving to NY.

Ray'd promised, so he met her, But things have Changed. She Hurted him Deeply, He Won't Survive that pain a 2nd time. But Love deserves another Chance. Cue A Promise to Never Leave again..So They give it a Try.
With us, it was never just sex. It was like our souls were fused together.. I was his just as much as he was mine.

There's Drama; Settling in, Sweet Kid Rosie, Family time, Anxiety, Parties, His Crazy Ex, Hard times.. But Ash+Ray handled it all❤, become eachother's Rock. & Finally get their HEA *Yes!!*
The epilogue's Gorgeous (They make a Beautiful Family!😍)
He was my heaven. And I finally realized that I was whole. I had everything I needed. We were intense, passionate, and unforgettable. Ray was my forever.

This story was very emotional right from the start. It touches difficult subjects. However, I think the execution was very well done. I felt myself rooting for Ray and Ash. And their happily ever after was so sweet. They deserved it.

I feel like this author just keeps getting better. Her stories are utterly emotional and this one was no different.

I have no idea how to write this review without spoilers, but WOUNDED touched me. I felt as though I was part of the story. I felt every emotion and the writing was beautiful.

Ashlyn and Ray are a couple that will stay with me for a while. Their story is so painfully beautiful. And Rosie, oh my, that girl stole my heart.

Loved it. Since this is the last in the series, I'm curious to see what the author has planned for the future.

A standalone story that is just beautiful and unique. It has a little bit of everything. Romance, adventure, second chance and touches life in all places. It does have a few triggers in it. But if your into some light bdsm your fine. The other one one is a bit more harder. But when it's talked about it happened in the past (child abuse). The characters for what each went through is horrendous and totally sad. I cried in a couple parts. But was so happy I kept reading to the very end. So if your looking for a unique love story with a ton of twists and turns. This book is definitely worth picking up.
I'm not worth anything, I'm broken and no one wants me, not even my family or former friends. Ashlyn's life has been rough from the get go. She has lots of skeletons in her closet and some that people will never hopefully know about. She just wants to be loved and wanted by someone, anyone will do. Even the handsome man who keeps brushing her off as nothing. Her interest is peaked and she wants to find out why he doesn't like her.

Wow beware of this passionate tale.

This was my first book by Lym Cruz and though this shows in her series it is completely a standalone story.

Its the emotional tale of Ash and Ray who have both suffered in their pasts so are not looking for a relationship. Until they find each other.

The book definitely isn't for those with certain triggers so I would double check before reading if you do have issues with certain books.

I found the book was longer than what I originally thought it would be. There seemed to be bits where it was a little slower than originally would have liked.

It did however mean was able to read the whole way through without having to stop after a particularly emotional aspect of the story as it gave time to process it.

While I felt there was something missing to make it a favourite I would recommend the book and look forward to reading others by the author.

Wounded is an emotionally dark story proving that those perfect outward appearances are often just a mask hiding what’s really happening in an imperfect life.

Ashlyn and Ray weren’t characters that I immediately fell in love with, but as their mysterious secrets unfolded and it was apparent just how broken they were, my empathy ramped up and my heart was invested in their story.

These are two people who are detached, don’t believe in love, and are extremely wounded. They somehow discover a bond that neither of them expected, but giving into the intense feelings between them becomes a battle.

Their story wasn’t always pretty and their happily after wasn’t easy, but it was inspiring because while they may have made mistakes, it got them where they were meant to be.

Another heartfelt and captivating book in the Imperfectly Perfect series!

This story was very different yet even better than what I was expecting. To me Lym has become the queen of dark romance. She takes imperfect characters and makes me fall in love with them while also leading them to redemption. I felt like this book was more a story of healing, forgiveness, self discovery and self love. Ray and Ashlyn weren’t characters that I fell for right away. They were imperfect for sure and boy were they combustible (burn up the sheets, H O T)! It took time for me to allow them into my heart but once they did they took up permanent residence. When I wasn’t reading this book I was thinking about it and even though I’m finished I’m still going over what Ashlyn overcame from her past and how Ray rose from the ashes of his childhood. Such an emotional and inspiring read.

Wounded may hit home for many people. This story could be yours. When things are not what you might expect, you wonder how some people can pick up the pieces and put together an amazing person. Sometimes, it takes the help of another.

Ashlyn and Ray, there fore each other? Or, did they compound the pain, the broken-ness? One never knows what to expect when reading a dark romance. Will an HEA be the ending?

I assure you, if you like dark romance with broken souls ready for some healing, this is a great read!

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Emotional and heartbreaking story!

WOW! This is one emotional rollercoaster ride. Ashlyn has been through so much in her life that her demons haunt her always. But she has somehow remained strong and fierce, not allowing the darkness to take her down.

Ray has just as many demons in his life as Ashlyn does. But they make it work. They fight their demons together and sometimes it’s not pretty, it’s raw and gritty and dark, but they forge ahead and fight for their relationship.

This story had me completely captivated and enthralled with its characters and their intense emotions and passion. I loved every second of it.

There is so much emotion and heat wrapped into this story. I think Lym did an amazing job writing a beautiful story with wonderful characters. Even after everything Ashlyn went through in her life, she is still able to portray the strong woman that she is. She may have erected some walls to make her this way, but it works for her. The amount of turmoil and heartache that she has experienced as a child into adulthood is heartbreaking. It seems like she can't catch a break until Ray comes into her life. Ray is as damaged as Ashlyn and I think that's what helps connect these two characters so much. They both have been hurt in the past and being able to truly love someone and giving all of themselves is hard for them to do.

This is the 4th book in this series and is Ray and Ashlyn’s story. After Ash suffers a traumatic experience in childhood, she is left haunted by demons as well as struggling mentally and emotionally. Ray has his own demon’s, and this couple are not perfect, yet together they are, and their story is painfully beautiful. This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, heartbreaking, emotional, and filled with turmoil, redemption, and love. I was hooked throughout and look forward to reading more from this author.

This one has many dark issues, but the author does a great job in not giving the gruesome details but still making you feel for the characters! It's a complex and emotional read.
It truly is about redemption, dealing with trauma, and finding the light.
The Relationship between Ash & Ray is unusual but is perfectly them. In the midst of all the chaos is a sexy, steamy relationship! They are perfect in their flaws. It a great read that I highly recommend if you are wanting something dark, and moving.

This was an excellent story! I loved all the twists and turns in the plot, and very much enjoyed the originality of the main characters. Their love was so raw and went through a ton of hoops before they got their HEA. The dialogue had some witty moments and the sex was hot!
This is my first time reading this author, and I very much enjoyed her vision for story telling!

Ashlyn and Ray were peas from the same pod they had both known deep hurt early in life but it was like the gift that just kept giving until they found and understood each other. What a read it knocked me back a few times as the hurt became a reality of how Ashlyn and Ray had taken such bad knocks a fantastic story that claims you. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I really really really liked this book up until 80%. 😩
I loved Ashlyn and Ray and how strong they were despite the horrible things they went through as children, there are some serious dark staff that were hard to read. And especially liked how Ashlyn realised she needs profesional help but she specifically tells Ray that she needs to work on herself first BUT when she is ready she is going to find him, so that was not a definitive break up. Then we have 13 months later when she finally is ready and goes to NY to find him and that is the part when I got so annoyed. So he was really hurt and f*cked a lot of random girls, his ex fiance who ended up having mental problems, hates Ashlyn and in the end tries to kill her and decided to adopt a girl when he specifically said a couple of times that he doesn't want kids and even got a vasectomy. I was like🙄 where did this come from. I would loved to watch them maybe together adopt a child when they finally reconcile but that was so unexpected and out of Rays character. And there was too much drama in the final few chapters that I felt so overwhelmed and what I thought was 5🌟 read ended up 2.5.

DNF 40% - I couldn't finish this for one big reason: flow. I felt the story was too jumpy and I couldn't maintain focus on it.

Rating - 3/5

This story has MANY triggers so be very cautious if you get easily distraught on hard, raw and emotional issues. From what I've read, the plot was all over the place. There wasn't enough consistency for me. I appreciated all of the raw and dark experiences the characters face, but there wasn't flow. I could see too many diverting roads from what the main plot line should be and it makes the story too much too handle. I felt that the author wanted to incorporate too many things in a short time span and I just got lost in it all.

The characters also didn't have much depth after reading 40%. I saw minimal growth and couldn't see beyond another "50 Shades of Gray" rendition.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This was in line with the author's previous works. Damaged souls that are able to find love. Ashlyn's story was heartwrenching.

I felt her pain through the pages as I read. So many times I wanted to reach out and hug Ash. Then there was Ray, he's the ultimate book boyfriend.

Also a broken soul who found redemption through it all.

What I love most is that the author always incentives healing by seeking professional help. Like she said in her previous book, love sometimes just isn't enough.

Another amazing book by the author.
I thought the story was very emotional and some heavy subjects were explored. I loved Ashlyn and Ray and I was hooked from the start to the end. I did think the last Katrine scene could have used a bit more build up. But I still loved it.
