With a concept and story by Fuse, the creator of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Trinity in Tempest is the grand tour of Rimiru's world that fans have always wanted. Through the eyes of three cute little monsters, one from the fox clan, one from the dragon clan, and one from the winged clan, readers will meet the residents of the utopia in Jura Forest, and get a peek at how they live their lives. The little group's leader, Phos, is a fox girl from the Beast Kingdom of Eurazania. But this isn't just a pleasure trip for her... she's visiting Tempest on secret orders from Lord Carrion. What would a demon lord want with Rimiru's monster paradise?
Although Phos, Stella, and Nemu all came to Tempest for their own reasons they have become good friends as they fit into the structure that is Tempest society. However as each of the three gain experiences like combat training, how money works, and the power of team work a dark shadow of war is making its way as word of Milim attacking the beast kingdom of Eurazania comes to Rimuru's attention. As such I am not sure how much longer this series will last considering the news brought up leads to a dark moment in the main series while up to know it seemed to be more of an uplifting learn to work with people not exactly like yourself. Hopefully the troublesome trio will do their part unspoken of in the main series that will prove national boarders cannot define who you consider a friend.
The adventures of Phos, Stella, and Nemu continue. Phos and Stella get some combat lessons from Hakuro. Nemu makes a new winged friend. The three girls attend business school and then get a lesson in combat magic.
Last but not least, trouble is brewing on the horizon and the girls may find themselves on opposing sides in a war. (Please note, this is an arc that begins around That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Vol. 12 so the next few volumes of this spinoff may contain major spoilers.)
Phos, Stella, and Nemu, as characters, are growing on me as they begin to show different aspects of their personalities, but they still seem like basic anime trope personalities.
