Two Marines try to pull off a fake marriage. Will their feelings get in the way of their plan?
Caitlin: Slade is my best friend in the Marines. I don't know what I'd do in Okinawa without him. What he doesn't know is that I'm in love with him. And he can't know because it would ruin our friendship.
Slade: The way the men treat Caitlyn drives me mad. I propose a temporary solution--by proposing. It's a marriage in name only, which is the only way I'll be able to convince her.
One problem--I'm deceiving her. I haven't told her the real reason. And I can't let her know how I feel. If she finds out, not only is our fake marital relationship in peril, but our very real and very true friendship.
I can't let that happen. She means everything to me.
So what can I do?

Once again I was hooked from the start! "SLADE: Anchor Me" is the 5th fan-freaking-tastic must read in contemporary romantic fiction with a side of hot military characters! ... But will this slow-burn “friends-to-lovers romance” survive? Especially at a military base where someone else wants Caitlyn & has a hidden agenda ?! ... I was hooked from the start & didn't want to stop reading until I had finished! ... Another fresh storyline, relatable characters, especially the H/h, Slade & Caitlin and with clever dialogue that will keep readers engaged & turning pages like crazy! ... Even tho I volunteered to read this in advance, it was without any outside influences, and I’ve also preordered a kindle book to keep in my favorites :D ... So yes, I can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction & now I can’t wait for more! :D
Slade Caitlyn is in the Marines stationed in Okinawa. Being in a foreign country and being lonely, Caitlyn starts off her three-year tour going out and partying. Sometimes this attracts the wrong kind of attention. Months ago, a fellow Marine broke into Caitlyn’s room and assaulted her. Now he is back to taunt her and cause trouble. Caitlyn does not feel safe in the barracks even with Slade across the hall. Slade Masters is also stationed in Okinawa. He and Caitlyn met at training. He lives in the barracks across the hall from Caitlyn. He suggests they go and explore together as friends. He would like to be more than friends but he knows Cailyn is fragile right now. Slade wants to study Law in a quiet area. Slade comes up with a wild idea: Let’s get married and get an apartment off base. We both get what we want. You get security and I get a quiet space to study. Both Caitlyn and Slade more than like each other. Could this work? What could go wrong? Slade has already given his heart to Caitlyn but he has not told her. Caitlyn loves Slade too but she hates to give up her best friend. This was a sweet journey for Caitlyn and Slade. Their temporary solution just might be a perfect permanent solution. Friends to lovers is my favorite trope. Seriously a feel-good story – Enjoy! I loved all the historical and sightseeing references. The author paints a colorful and thoughtful paradise in Okinawa.
This is both a beautiful friends to lovers romance but also at look at the way women are treated by some military men.Slade is secretly in love with Caitlyn an will do everything he can to protect her.He hates the way some of the guys look at her. After her almost rape by a fellow Marine he comes up with a plan to keep her safe but he's deceiving her because he wants to marry her because he loves her but she friend zoned him an he has to keep his feelings hidden.Caitlyn has a hard time sleeping since she woke up with a fellow Marine on top of her trying to rape her if it hadn't been for Slade she can't even think about it.Slade an Caitlyn spend all their free time together. She's fallen in love with him but he doesn't feel that way about her.Her friend told her to tell him how she feels. Can she keep her heart of she agrees to marry him in name only.?Will these two ever admit how they feel about each other? Will Slade get to Caitlyn in time to convince her he's in love with her too??Or will he find her in time to save her from her attacker out for revenge? There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
I have loved every book in this series and I think this latest offering may be my favourite of all of them. A true friends to lovers story both care but aren't willing to show it
Caitlin and Slade first met one another in training and they have been friends ever since and now they are both stationed in Okinawa Caitlin was assaulted by a fellow soldier and no longer feels safe in the barracks Slade needs a quite place where he can study to get his law degree so he makes a suggestion They should get married in name only she would be off the base and safe and he would get his quite place to study The only problem is neither are been honest they both would like the fake to be real and when her attackers decides to stalk Caitlin again will Slade be able to keep her safe
This is a series which I've found to be one of the most enjoyable military series I've read. This one is about two marines who are friends, one is a man and one a woman they met during their training but meet up again when they are both stationed in Okinawa.
Slade is in love with Caitlin but she's placed him firmly in the friend-zone that is until circumstances change and she needs his protection, but how can he keep her safe from a distance? He needs to keep her close and the only way to do this would be if they were to marry. He now has an excuse to be closer to her but will she agree?
What he doesn't know is that she loves him too but doesn't want to risk their friendship and worries that if she agreed she wouldn't be able to hide her feelings. What is she to do?
Slade and Caitlin are great friends. Slade has been burned by love before so he wants to keep Caitlin in the friends category. That way he won't lose her. Caitlyn is so glad that Slade is her friend and after walking back to the barracks with him she's have conflicting feeling about him. She's just as scared to let him know as he is about telling her how he feels. Will these two find a way to talk to each other and find the love that's just waiting for them? Slade and Caitlin's romance tugs on your heartstrings. I don't believe that there is anything quite so emotional as a friends-to-lovers romance. The combination of all those hidden feelings and the angst and anxiety of losing that friendship for only the chance of something more always gets to me. Each character is very likable, the story is well written and engaging and the emotions are sweet and very plentiful. Another excellent entry in this wonderful series. This is my forthright, volitional review.
Two Marines. Two friends. Two friends in love keeping it from the other.
This might be my favorite in the series (each is complete and can be read alone). Slade and Caitlin had become friends during training. Both stationed in Okinawa they renewed their friendship. Even though she felt for him she'd friend-zoned him.
Slade couldn't help but want the hot Marine but she needed a buddy, not another jerk hitting on her. So friend he'd be. Until...circumstances made it hard to secretly protect her from as far away as her room and his. But if they were married...he found an excuse she might buy to suggest it.
If she agreed they be even closer and it would be even harder to hide her feelings. Could she do it?
If she agreed he'd have to somehow manage to hide his feelings. Could he do it?
The story is sweet, hot, and not without social issues. The author has done an amazing job of presenting a love story with added issues included but not outweighing the romance.
Slade is the fifth book in the Anchor Me series by author Lisa Carlisle. I found this book easy to follow. This is my first time reading this series and I loved it. This is a friend to lovers, military romance with heart and soul. This story is told in dual POV and I found it really worked to be in both character’s mindsets.
Slade and Caitlyn are best friends.
Slade knows Caitlyn is a lot stronger than she appears. They are just friends, and he admires the heck out of her. He wants to protect her from the other people on the base and their leering stares. He had to protect her recently from almost being raped in her own bed.
He has an idea to stop all the harassment that Caitlyn has been experiencing. He just has to get Caitlyn to see it is a good plan.
Caitlyn has PSTD from being attacked in her own bed. The military didn’t really do anything about it either. She feels she can only trust Slade. When Slade proposes marriage in name only she is unsure, she has had some serious fantasies about Slade can she keep the relationship in name only if they were married?
This is a sweet military romance that I could not put down. I loved both the lead MC’s and they made me smile and cheer for them. I need to go back now and read the books I missed.
You gotta love military romance novels and this one is a good one to read. This is not a slow paced book at all. It is just right with an easy flow. However it is a slow burn though. Now lets meet Caitlyn and Slade, these two live on base. So we find out that Caitlyn and Slade have known each other for a while. They met each other while on base. When she first got on the base she did a lot of dancing and drinking until finally Slade intervened. Since then they have been inseparable. What is funny is they both have feelings for each other. Slade thinks he has been friend zoned, but I think he just misinterpreted what Caitlyn was saying. Now these two are harboring secrets and seriously have some communication issues. While they are both stewing about their feelings there is something else that is going on. Something happens to Caitlyn and this causes them to do something crazy. All while they are both stuck in their own heads. So what will it take for them to tell each other the truth. You just need to read it to find out what happens and if they get a happily ever after.
I love these military romances that Ms Carlisle writes, I've always been hooked on her paranormal and now I'm hooked on her contemporary.
Slade Master is stationed in Okinawa, Japan along with Caitlyn a female marine that has been targeted by a sick marine who tries to get in her pants. The moment the sicko tries to rape Caitlyn, Slade jumps in to save the day, but the need to protect her are also for another reason, he has been in love with her from the first time he laid eyes on her, only Caitlyn doesn't know that. She believes he is the only Marine without an agenda, her!
Slade brews up a plan to keep Caitlyn safe but it will also keep her close to him, but he has reservations, what if his plan back fires? What if she discovers his feelings for her and doesn't reciprocate?
Slade is not the only one with a secret, Caitlyn has one too. Find out what the future holds for them.
I love this story, two friends who thought all they would have is friendship but with the secret desire for so much more. When open communication is not their strong suit a temporary fake marriage may help them with new living arrangements, but a honeymoon brings the emotional toil to the surface. The characters were really relatable and strong, but show that on the inside each have their own insecurities which make them personable. A happy ever after is a romance everyone can enjoy.

Basically Slade and Caitlyn are best friend in Marine Base Camp. One dark and creepy night, Slade thought to marry Caitlyn so she can have a peaceful night. Slade stupidly offer despite being in love with Caitlyn, thinking marriage will change nothing. Well, of course he can't denied the temptation.
They had one night, then Slade feeling guilty because he thought what he did were creepy. He felt like he lured Caitlyn into marriage with benefit. Little did he know that Caitlyn is in love with him as well.
I thought this story was well written, flowed well and hat it highlighted some tough subjects well. I wanted to knock Caitlin and Slade's together at times so that they would be honest with each other and themselves and see what they had and could have. I wasn't totally sure how their story would play out so was eagerly turning the pages so I could find out.

Slade and Caitlin's journey of love is a rough one because each of them is in love with the other but neither knew how the other felt. This friends to lovers romance is a rollercoaster of emotions and this author's writing had me riding that roller coaster right along with Slade and Caitlin. The characters are believable, the writing is fantastic and the ending is perfect. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this friends to lovers romance, fast-paced and quick to read. Both Slade and Caitlyn are really likable, they both didn't want to jeopardize their friendship by revealing their feelings for the other, I'm glad they finally got their hea.

Slade is an amazing Marine, and has a deep need to protect his best friend Caitlyn. He comes up with an outrageous proposal and craziness ensues. It was fun watching what they went thru. If you have ever read any of Lisa Carlisle‘s books, this is a must read.
The fifth book in the Anchor Me series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. This is a fantastic fake marriage and friends-to-lovers romance. This is well written and an engaging read. Caitlin and Slade are likable and relatable characters. This has a great range of palpable emotions. This is an amazing read.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
Another amazing read in this series. This is the fifth book and it will keep you interested all the way through. The story flows well, the characters fit well together and have amazing chemistry. You will enjoy this book and series.
It was a cute story. I enjoyed the premise of the book, but the characters annoyed me. I was not a fan of how both of them hid their feelings for each other for so long. It seems much to drawn out and made the plot seem thin by that point.
Really enjoyed this sexy, fun and action packed best friends to so much more fake marriage (so not fake) romance. This emotionally thrilling journey is filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Great reading.
First book by this author, it was a little bit like a harlequin romance. I do enjoy friends to lovers. Two good friends they have feelings for each other but they are both afraid to admit their feelings. Afraid they will mess up the friendship.
