Voxeran Fated Mates #1

Her Alien Prince

Rate this book
I was sent to make contact with aliens… I never expected one to claim me as his mate.

What was supposed to be a peaceful mission to find alien life goes horribly wrong when our ship crashes on an unknown planet.

As I emerge from the wreckage with the few other survivors, three things become immediately clear.

1. This wasn’t a peaceful mission at all. The women on board were meant to be sold in exchange for alien tech.
2. There’s no way we’re getting off this planet.
3. Our odds of survival are laughably low.

When I’m accidentally separated from the other women, I’m pretty sure my chances of survival drop to zero. That is, until I fall—literally—into the lap of a gorgeous alien warrior with metallic blue skin and cat-like eyes.

I don’t know who this man is, and I can’t even ask him since we don’t speak the same language. I don’t know why my body craves his touch, or why something deep inside me draws me toward him.

But I do know this: he’s the best shot I have at finding a way back home.

The only problem is, the more time I spend with him, the less certain I am that I want to leave.

Her Alien Prince is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring blue-skinned alien warriors, a heroine who learns what love truly is, and a rebel prince who would move the stars for his fated mate.

If you like sexy aliens, steamy romance, and thrilling adventure, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

Through a wormhole to crash on a prison planet!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📔
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 🙃🥹☺️🤭🥰

The heroine: Charlotte - She is a linguist and the wife of a senator who was caught in flagrante with another man. So she volunteers to go on a mission into space to make contact with Alien life. While on the ship, she and another woman find that the ship is carrying a bunch of women in sleeping pods whom they think are the cargo to be used as a gift to the aliens. Before they can do anything about it, the ship lurches and is sucked into a wormhole and later crashes to an alien planet.

The Hero(es): Droth - He overseas the training of a few of the younger males from his settlement, the males are sons of his friend who passed and whose death Droth feels responsible for. He sees a ship crash land on the prison planet where he lives. On the prison planet, new arrivals aren’t greeted with open arms. Scavengers and raiders sometimes land and attack settlements like the one Droth lives in. Droth is the leader of his group of warriors, he was a prince when they lived on Vox.

The Story: when the ship Charlotte is on splits apart into two pieces and crash lands on the alien planet, she and the other woman, Elizabeth rescue some other women from sleeping pods and check out the area around them. Before long, a huge bird like creature swoops down and carries Charlotte away from the other women.

Droth is out hunting and comes across Charlotte and knows she is his bonded mate right away. I don’t want to give away any more, but I did like the story and it is peripherally related to the Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors series in that the ship and the females were headed for the Orkans who are the bad guys in that series. The other bad guys are the American Government who are trading women for tech and safety from invasion.

The book is told in dual points of view and dual narration. The narrators are C.J. Grey and Kat Arden. They did a great job. I like the way C.J. Grey speaks a bit at first stiltedly which works well for the Alien male. I plan to read more of this series.

Honestly, this was just boring. I would read three pages and get distracted by something else. Read 3 more pages, forget what I just read, and then look for other books to read lol. Too much inner monologue and explaining/over analyzing.

When I was able to pay attention took everything was too neat and clean. If you write an stranded on a strange planet with aliens romance I expect to have some grit to it. Nada.

My Sci-Fi romance obsession continues! Really enjoyed this quick, sweet, smutty read. As the series title indicates, it's about fated mates, so there's an element of insta-love, but I really dug it. The love scenes were hotttt, and I found it such a nice change from the angsty romances I've been reading lately how they just bypassed all the drama and acknowledged their connection from the get-go. I respected the hell out of Droth when we agreed to help Charlotte return to her home planet even though she was his mate! He was so noble and selfless and I loved that.

Not sure why I gave this book 3 stars on my first read a few years ago. I guess my judgement was less critical than it is today. After reading so many books on this genre, I find that Her Alien Prince pales in comparison.

The plot is very simple and nothing really original: Charlotte, a linguist and married to the senator in her state, gets on board of The Foreigner II to go make first contact with aliens. There are many on board but she quickly befriends Elizabeth, a doctor, as the spaceship departs from Earth. They spend a couple days familiarizing themselves with their new routine as they travel but Elizabeth finds something that gives reason to be concerned: She found a cargo of cryochambers where many women are asleep. Both women are shocked and told off by the security guy but at that same moment, The Foreigner II is sucked into a wormhole and the ship ends up crashing on an unknown planet. Half of the ship is destroyed and everyone is killed upon crashing but the cargo as well as Charlotte and Elizabeth survive. They open all the cryochambers to make sure the sleeping women don't suffocate and one of the women causes Charlotte to be swept by a giant bird-like creature who sees her as his next meal. She is then saved by a Voxeran alien named Droth who instantly recognizes her as his fated mate...

I barely know him and we’ve never had a conversation in the same language, but it feels like he’s imprinted himself on my soul somehow.-Charlotte (girl, please...)

Like I said, nothing really original. Charlotte was okay but she didn't have her priorities straight. She instantly feels the pull with Droth and instead of trying to return to the other women, she spends a few days with that alien, getting intimate with him within less than 24 hours. I think overall, she was compassionate and brave but the whole instalust really ruined her character for me. She was pretty immature for someone who is supposed to be a senator's wife. She acted like a horny teenager and regretted her decision to be intimate with Droth, only to go at it with him again right after. I wish she'd been more practical and focused, resisting the pull. As for Droth, it was the same instalust issue. He was protective and kind to Charlotte but he was nothing special. Very bland.

Funny. Some men go their whole lives without being able to find a woman’s clit, and Droth has not only found it, he’s mastered it in a day.-Charlotte (girl, pleeeeease...)

The intimacy upon first meeting absolutely ruined the story for me. There was no development and I didn't believe in their love whatsoever. No chemistry. At. All. They couldn't even communicate properly for more than half the book because of the language barrier. It made no sense for them to just go at it with a complete stranger, no matter that they were fated mates. Unbelievable behavior. The pacing was strange, and everything happened within less than a week. I wish the author had taken the time to lay the foundations, do some worldbuilding and develop her characters more. This is the beginning of a series after all, there is a lot to cover.

It just felt like the author wanted a reason to write smut rather than truly develop the plot. Everything else seemed to be an afterthought.

I will be reading this whole series because some of the side characters caught my attention. And I believe I liked the second book more than this one when I first read it. Also, I bought the whole series a while ago where they were on discount (or most of it were) so I at least want to read them once.

I believe this series has a main plot that will chronologically develop with each installment, so you probably want to read them all in order.

I recently read Prison Planet Barbarian and it put me on a prison planet kick… and I ended up here. The characters are technically on a prison planet, but it’s basically “criminals” dumped on an uncivilized planet minus the actual prison part. It only serves as the setting and has little to do with the plot.

The blurb sets this up, Charlotte volunteers for a mission and soon learns everything isn’t what they thought. They crash and she meets the H, Droth, when she’s separated from the group.

Ironically, it reminded me A lot of Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians. A group of females kidnapped and stranded on a hostile planet with big besotted aliens they can’t communicate with.

My issue was that the plot moved so slowly. The flow was wordy loaded with internal musings and over explaining. It was also loaded down with the introductions of TONS of side characters that I assume will be future H and h’s. This is a pet peeve of mine… the secondary character plot blockers. I prefer series that aren’t so overarching.

Charlotte and Droth were both supportive and dedicated to each other, even from the start before they were more. He was quite swoony when they could finally understand each other…

“If protecting you means throwing myself in front of things that want to kill you, I’ll never stop. As long as I draw breath, I will protect you, and even after that, my spirit will always shield you.”

Bottom Line- It was just ok for me. It was 272 pages but felt like 400 at times. I liked this H and h, but I have a feeling the future h’s will annoy me (my problem with R.D.’s series). I’m all for girl power, but I find it irritating when they need their aliens to pull them through everything but have giant chips on their shoulders.

For example, the men have just fought off a rival clan attacking them… literally saving their asses from being drug off.

Book 5’s h…
“You say that like we need protection.” Raina moves to the front of the crowd, her hands on her hips. “If you haven’t noticed, we’re the ones with the blasters.”

Book 2’s h…
I knew it. I was right. We definitely shouldn’t be going with these men.
This after she’s just deep breathing talking about her anxiety and being helped because she couldn’t open a freaking drawer. 🙄🙄

Needless to say, I’m stopping here. I peeked at future reviews, and it looks they’re (future hs) all resistant to their partner and either being bossy or cowering while being protected. No thanks.

Ugh, another insta love. Crashing on a strange planet, being grabbed by some pterodactyl creature and saved by some alien. He takes her back to his camp and bam! Sex scene. (Albeit a very sexy sex scene) Come on! If you were dropped into the arms of some alien, no matter how hot and the "pull" toward him, I dont think youd he eager to f*ck him. Maybe, maybe not.
However! I enjoyed the world building and the writing style. Not so much the insta love

Charlotte and some other volunteers go on a mission to make first contact with aliens but before they can get to the planet they were supposed to land on, they get pulled through a wormhole and crash land on a prison planet. Before she can do much to save the others onboard the ship, she's taken by a large predatory bird but an alien from the planet saves her.

Droth saves the alien female from the bird and then tries to communicate with her. He's mesmerized and attracted to her right away and realizes she's his fated mate. He somehow puts her at ease enough to get her back to his village where she meets the others in his village. She's safe there because Droth is their leader and tells his men that she's his mate. Droth and Charlotte spend time together and can't stop themselves from mating even though they can't understand each other. A day or so later she tries to let him know she has to go back to her ship and he follows her only to find a bunch of women there who survived. The women are skeptical of Droth and his men until someone who means them all danger shows up and they band together to fight the bad guys off.

Droth and his men search Charlottes crashed ship for communicators so they can understand each other and once they are able to communicate things seem to go a lot more smoothly. I'm looking forward to seeing who will fall for whom next because now that they can communicate, it should be fun to see how they interact together.

3 stars. This is pretty similar to Ruby Dixon’s ice planet barbarians. Not overly unique, but still enjoyable.

Safe; heroine is technically married, but their marriage was more of a sham than anything else

Very good

I loved the characters, very well developed. The whole book is awesome I can’t wait to read the next book. I hope there’s more levity in the next one to break up some of the intensity. Droth was a strong proud man. I loved how he’s a protector but not a jerk. He wants her happiness above anything even if it’s at the cost of his own. Charlotte was strong and not whiny. She was scared and not sure about everything that was going on but she didn’t do a whole diatribe over every feeling. I love that she accepted what happened to her between her and last relationship but didn’t put those past deeds off on Droth. He wasn’t the one who did her wrong and shouldn’t have to pay for someone else’s mistakes. I so very much enjoyed this book and I’m excited about this series.

What a great sci-fi romance read! Charlotte, a linguist, is part of an Earth team going off in to space to make contact with aliens. But the ship crashes on a prison planet whereupon the survivors learn of the government's secret nefarious plans. As they struggle to come to terms with their knowledge, she's grabbed by huge bird and whisked away from the other women.

She's rescued by an alien prince exiled for attempting a coup on his home planet. Although they can't communicate, their bond is undeniable and strong, and she begins to wonder if she really wants to return home.

Loved this book. So well written and plotted. Loved the characters and the set up.

I had a chance to read a new ARC by Presley Hall the other day. It was an alien romance about Charlotte Navarro, an ambassador and linguist from earth, and Droth, an exiled prince from Vox. Don’t let the fact that he has been exiled fool you; he is a good guy who has been done wrong by family members. The story is an entertaining tale of betrayal, attraction, passion, love, and danger—all the tropes of a good book. Charlotte has willingly agreed to “make first contact” with aliens as part of a contact group, but the ship in which she is traveling, crashes on a dangerous prison planet. When she gets separated from the other women, she meets Droth, an honorable royal warrior. They cannot understand each other because of the language, but their passion is electrifying. She has never felt anything like it before. When Charlotte rejoins the rest of the survivors, they find useful translators on the crashed ship along with records detailing the true mission of the ship. Droth is not the only person who has been betrayed; Charlotte and the women have too. Now that everyone can understand each other, the Voxerans offer protection for the women until they can decide how to get off the planet. I have a feeling that Charlotte will stay with Droth wherever he lives, but since he is a royal, I don’t think it will be on this prison planet forever. After all, he has a country of which he should be king. This book was a sweet, enjoyable read, and I am interested in meeting the rest of the characters in this series.

This is the first book in the Voxeran Fated Mates series and features Charlotte and Droth and it was a smutty, sweet and refreshing read.

Charlotte is on a mission to find alien life (or so she believes) and when the ship crashes on a planet she realizes things aren't what she thought. So now she is stuck on a planet she knows little about on a mission that is more sinister than she knew and has just been separated from the group that did survive the crash. So what's a girl to do?

Stumble upon a big blue alien warrior that's what! Droth is handsome with cat-like eyes and realizes that Charlotte is his fated mate. However, they don't speak the same language beyond knowing their bodies crave each other in a way that's never happened for either of them.

Charlotte knows that Droth is probably her only chance of survival so she decides to stick with him but the more time she spends with him, the more attached she becomes. Will Charlotte stay with Droth? Can Droth let his fated mate go?

Overall, a sweet romance with a HEA. I think this is only because I've been in a darker romance binge but I would have liked the steam to be a little dirtier...take that with a grain of salt though because it was still hot.

Charlotte and Droth

Charlotte is on an alien spaceship, repaired by the powers that be in the USA, and destined for a first contact mission with aliens.
Only, the mission isn’t entirely what she’s been told, and when the ship crash lands on a prison planet, everything wrong with their goal becomes worryingly clear.
Droth and his men were sent to the prison planet because they were on the wrong side in a political war. They’ve made a life for themselves, simple but good.
When Droth rescues Charlotte from a giant bird, he discovers that she is his fated mate. But Charlotte needs to get back home to tell everyone what happened...

This is the first book in the series, and perhaps the one issue people will have with it, is that the heroine is married to a man still on Earth. For a variety of reasons, the marriage is pretty much in name only, but some readers make take issue with it.
Nevertheless, this is a quick read, with alien hotties dressed like barbarians but from an advanced civilization.
Earth girls are stranded with them, and you know sexy times will follow!
Recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi alien romance!

So this is the first book/series that I have read from this author. So here we start of the series with Charlotte and Droth. So this starts off different from other alien romance. Here we have the government from Earth send a spaceship into space. Well we find out some pretty interesting stuff about this ship and the government. Charlotte signed up to go on this mission and the reason seems clear but not sure about that. Anyways she discovers something on the ship and then bam they crash on a planet. Dangerous one that is. Seems like not a lot of the crew survived and there are a bunch of pods with women in them. Uh what? Yeah we find out what that is about and oh boy it is not good. Then Charlotte is snatched by this huge bird and is rescued by Droth. Now we have a bit of a language barrier but there is no denying the attraction. She needs to get back to the crash site for the others. All while this is going on, they help each other out in some serious situations. Can they get past the language barrier and help the other woman? Will we be getting a happily ever after? It is a great story and builds up. It also sets the series up real nice.

Well I see that I started to read this book back in 2020 and for some reason gave it 3 stars. Well I’ve read it again and nope, down to two. The story ssssooooooo wordy. one sentence of dialogue followed by one paragraph behind the meaning of the sentence followed by a paragrapgh on current emotions followed by a paragraph on wishes and wants....eeeekkkk I want to pull my hair out. She leaves a ship full of women behind and instead of throwing a tantrum or leading a riot to get back to them she needs 2 days of non stop seek the sausage before she even remembers there are people depending on her....oops.

I liked this one a little better than Claimed from the Kalixian series.
Addendum 7/1/2021: I reread this story and realized that I needed to write a better review. This is very well written. It's the usual trope, human women abducted and crash land on unknown planet in a galaxy far, far away. Humanoid hotties with no women. (Prison planet.) Primitive but still technologically savvy. Fated Mates, Yada, Yada. But there were no typos, the description of the planet and it's inhabitants was detailed. The FMC was educated and didn't get TSTL. There was no forced artificial angst due to lack of communication or stupidity. I look forward to the next book.

Charlotte leaves Earth to make first contact, being a linguist. Only a few days after launch, something goes wrong and the ship crashes. Eventually she meets Droth, an exiled prince. Droth discovers that Charlotte is his fated mate. I love how loving and protective he is. Charlotte is brave and resourceful. This is a sweet, easy read. I’m looking forward to the next books in the series....what a great start!

I am hoping to hear more about Vox, Droth’s home world and his brother.

I reeeeeeally enjoyed this!

After falling down the Ice Planet Barbarian rabbit hole during the pandemic just like everybody else, I took a liking to alien romance novels. However, I figured out pretty quickly that I particularly like the IPB setup: a group of women somehow finding themselves stranded on a foreign planet where they integrate with an established alien people. That just seems to scratch a certain itch for me. But a lot of alien romance novels aren’t like that unfortunately. Most feature alien invasions or take place in futuristic sci-fi universes where distant space travel and regular contact with advanced alien races is already a thing. And don’t get me wrong – that’s cool, too! Personally, I just really like those stranded on a new planet oh but guess what it isn’t that bad after all because there’s surprisingly attractive and gentleman-like alien men who one by one fall for the humans because of some fated soulmate bond stories the best.

So far, I’ve only found one other series – Fated Mates of the Sea Sand Warlords by Ursa Dax – that gave me a similar vibe (and dare I say, I actually like that one even more than IPB). But as I have already read pretty much all of those books and their spin-offs, I’ve been on the hunt for more which ultimately led me to this series.

AND I LOVED IT! Granted, it’s not 100% what I wanted , but it does have most of the stuff I was looking for. As always with these types of series, the first instalment was a bit rushed: It felt like we went from oh no, our own government is actually the bad guy to fuck, now we’re stranded on this foreign planet with all types of dangerous creatures that could kill us in a millisecond to now I’m unconditionally in love with this hunky alien dude who says I’m his mate, welp, guess I want to stay here and have lots of spicy sex for the rest of my life after all within less time than it takes me to devour a regular sized plate of pasta. But I get that the world building has to be a bit rushed in the beginning since these types of books mostly hover in the 200–350 page range which doesn’t allow for much in terms of proper pacing and all that slow burn deliciousness. I’ve found though that that particular issue tends to resolve itself the further you get into a series since the foundation has already been laid and the relationships between the characters are a bit more established (I must admit, however, that I am still a tiny bit worried in regards to pacing since the author claims that all books in this series can be read as standalones too – but I’ll stay optimistic for now). So I absolutely cannot wait to check out the next book soon! 🥳

I really liked our MCs in this one, too! Charlotte had a good head on her shoulders and definitely wasn’t some damsel in distress (though I do enjoy those every once in while, too). And Droth was just the cutest!!! My heart melted at how lovingly he described Charlotte and Get yourself a man who puts your own happiness first always! Again, I do wish we had more of those awkward first interactions before they were able to communicate properly – a lot of the scenes felt too rushed for my taste – but I enjoyed their dynamic nonetheless. I hope that we’ll learn more about the mechanics of the mate bond in future books, because the concept sounds super interesting and is just begging to be explored in more depth!

Now the only question left is whether I should download the next book already – or go to bed, since it’s already 11pm and I have work tomorrow 😮‍💨

I adored the world building of this book, the scifi elements that i enjoy - the spaceship, crashing, weaponry and learning about other species. The love felt very instant over two days, but I suppose that works with them being fated mates.

Charlotte and Droths first meeting is interesting, they show a lot of chemistry and some tender scenes. Hurt/comfort vibes as check wounds, trying to communicate with each other and trusting despite the struggle.

Especially enjoyed Droths pov as his thoughts are so fun, his admiration for her and thinking she is a royal and warrior. His working with her and protecting at same time, wanting her to be happy. Just so much soft feels, of course he had plenty of steamy thoughts too which were great.

Rather fun together, only wish had been more time for them to actually get to know and fall once they can actually talk to each other. Still they're lovely and an interesting pair, compliment and learn from each other. The steamy scenes are incredible.

Smart and fierce female characters hold my heart! They were stunning and I admire them all, excited to see the rest of the series. I loved that they made defences, didn't just trust instantly until needed and supported their group.

Overall its an entertaining, fastpaced read with amazing world puilding. Gives a happy ending for these two and leaves open for the next book/couple, as continued story arc. 💕

I'm still new to this sub-genre (aliens) under Romance since I've only read Ruby Dixon's "Ice Planet Barbarians" and Evangeline Anderson's "Kindred" series till date. So my review might unintentionally compare this book to the afore-mentioned since I equally enjoyed both series.

But from what I've gathered after reading Her Alien Prince, the first in "Voxeran Fated Mates", the plot seems familiar, to be specific, it reminds me of "Ice Planet Barbarians", but at the same time, not exactly. There are certain elements that differentiate Voxeran Fated Mates and gives it a unique charm. One tag I did not expect while going into this book was insta-love and I'm not exactly sure how it made me feel. After reading the blurb, I went in expecting slow-burn romance and maybe a hint of angst coupled with exciting adventures on an alien planet but what I got was just a sample of everything.

What glaringly stood out to me once I finished reading was the fact that there was hardly enough stuff happening in the one week since Charlotte and Droth met. In fact, I was shocked when it was pointed out later on that a week had passed since their crash. I felt like only four days or so was described and then the plot was rounded up to seven days.

I find myself still curious to see what'll happen next so I'll definitely pick-up rest of the books later on.
