How the hell I went from the fall harvest to secretly writing an online dating and sex advice column for the males of Mudville, I can’t figure. All I know is I blame Harper for it. Apparently dating a writer for two years has done something to my brain.
But that’s not the worst of it. Oh no. My bigger problem is that my youngest brother is sprinting to the altar, intent on a Christmas wedding with a woman he’s known for barely a year. Boone beating us to “I do” is not going to sit well with my girlfriend. It should go over about as well as the news that I’m the author behind the column she loathes.
What will happen when I finally confess that I’m secretly Mr. Naughty, the man she’s declared her arch enemy? Hell if I know, but I don’t need any advice column to tell me that my holiday this year is not going to be merry.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.
We're back in Mudville with Harper and Stone. We all remember them from book #1 - Kissing Books He's the oldest Morgan Farm Boy and she's the romance author who was house-sitting her aunt's old mansion in town. And now, two years later, things are pretty good. But they could be better. Why is Stone's youngest brother Boone getting a Christmas Wedding? Harper wants one too - but Stone hasn't asked yet. But more important is that horrible Mister Naughty who is giving relationship advice in the town's online forum. She hates him - not knowing that it's her poor boyfriend giving all that advice. And he accidentally forgot to mention that. Just like he is now accidentally running as mayor, because he feels guilty for not telling the truth! LOL!
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!

Adorable!
Just like the first books in this series, this one was adorable and funny and small-towny and just so sweet and holiday-ish. I loved reading it. We meet ALL the people again - plus Aunt Agnes's house pig! We kind of feel very sorry for poor Harper - she's a tiny bit crazy at the moment. LoL! It's all very funny and a tiny bit ridiculous - but in a good way. I just adored this story. Can't wait to read more about this adorable town and its crazy people!
I also really need to see this on Netflix one day!
MiSTER NAUGHTY was an adorable + funny + holiday-ish small town rom-com! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Stone (and all the others) - these guys are MINE!
We are back with Harper and Stone, our lovelies from the first Mudville tale.
I love going back to see where couples are down the track. We are two years from Kissing Books, and it is wonderful to see them when the flush of first flirtations and love is gone.
Harper is a little bit bonkers in this one, and I love her even more for it. In fact, she drove me a little nuts whilst reading too, but that is the woman we all like her to be.
This is a little bit Christmas, a little bit ridic, but it wouldn't be Mudville if we weren't taking a ride on the crazy train at some stage.
We got to see all the couples and characters from previous books, and my favourite pig can't miss her time to shine!
I love this town and this series, and I hope we get plenty more in the future.
DNF. I read the first book in the series and liked this couple well enough. There were moments that they got on my nerves in the first book but I could overlook them. In this book, I found Stone to be recurrently obnoxious and overbearing. I found Harper’s upset about the youngest brother’s engagement to be really petty. Stone was a misogynistic man boy.
There is no more entertaining place to be than in Mudville, and I was so excited that Cat Johnson has brought us back there for the holidays. This is book 6 in the Smalltown Secrets series. It centers on the characters of Stone and Harper, who meet and fall in love in the first book of the series. I think you can read and enjoy this as a stand-alone, but when you meet all the amazing characters in Mudville I feel confident saying you’re going to want to read the whole series. I’d love to live in Mudville – it’s that great!
In this book, Stone, the eldest Morgan brother gets unintentionally drawn out of his usual role of farmer and into being an anonymous poster on the local Internet chat board. Simultaneously, his romance novelist girlfriend Harper, is dealing with writer’s block and anxiety about life and their relationship. As they navigate their issues individually and together, the quirkiness and the humor are contagious.
This is an easy read with an effervescent feel that will leave you bubbling over with smiles. I’m very much looking forward to the next book in the series.
This book was like the train wreck that you new was going to end badly but you couldn't turn away. You had to keep reading to see how it all turns out.
Stone and Harper are a couple we have watched fall in love and have their ups and downs. Now they have been together for two years and according to Stone everything is going well. However the surprise engagement of his younger brother turns everything upside down.
Stone is a very laid back man where Harper is not. So when she gets angry at the Mr. Anonymous and us as the readers, know its Stone, you know the longer Stone takes to confess the more interesting it's going to be.
There were times I wanted to shake Stone and tell him to confess before things spiral out of control further.
The universe called. It’s been proven that Harper isn’t actually at the center of it all. Now, I adored Harper in the first book. I even still loved her as supportive sidekick to her besties in the following books. But, the pure unbridled narcissism displayed in this book has driven me right round the bend. And Stone? What happened to the strong noble man I fell in love with in “Kissing Books”? He comes across as a henpecked milquetoast this time around. One thing I can say for certain, the author has most definitely gotten an emotional reaction out of me over this story. Our lovebirds finally talk it all out to get us to a sweet and adorable ending. But holy wow! I felt like I had to work really hard to get there.
What a great revisit of the first couple of Mudville! When Stones brother proposes to his girlfriend, Harper wonders why it wasn’t her and Stone first, they have been together the longest! She is also obsessed with the Mudville Forum and the fact that Mr Naughty has better social media attention than her! This story is quirky, funny and downright sexy! Check out this great second look at a Stone and Harper, see if their relationship is destined to stay the same!
Awwwww! This was fun, revisiting a couple from the Kissing Books! Stone and Harper, together for two years, but, there's secrets. Secrets can be fun, but they can also cause harm. This is one of those books that you can say, "all's well that ends well"! It was fun reading about the solid friendships and family unit! (I love the diversity of the Morgan Family Farm, with the changing of the seasons and how they adapt to support themselves and serve their community!) This has been such a delightful series!
Boone and Sarah plan a Christmas wedding, Stone and Harper have imagined issues, although the Mudville forum is a big issue with Harper and the terrible advice given by Mr naughty, Cash and Red are happy and content with the status quo, Stone confesses his part in the Mr naughty, voted mayor of Mudville and proposed to Harper, beautiful ending and hoping for their wedding, thank you, Dana Zamora
Stone has something he is hiding from Harper and it just might put her over the edge. It seems he has been writing advice on an online forum and she doesn’t like what he is saying. He is worried that if she finds out she will be mad at him. Then she gets a wild idea to run for mayor. Only find out she can’t. But Stone can, so she gets him to do it. Oh the fun in a small town! Again another great book in this series.
Oh Lordy—what a terrific read! A definite ‘must read’ ❤️
Cat Johnson has a real winner with this series. The books just get better and better! You’re going to need both tissues and an iced drink for this one…the storyline is so awesome; the characters more snd more like family members; quirky twists and turns abound; and the HEA—scorching hot! You definitely don’t want to miss this one…so I grab your copy today! ❤️❤️
This one will keep you on your toes and laughing. Harper gets obsessed with the Mudville Forum. Especially with Anonymous. Stone is on the forum as anonymous and is giving advise. When he finds out Harper can’t stand anonymous, he ends up having a hard time telling her. Will Harper be ok when she finds out? Boone announces he and Sarah are getting married. Which sends his brothers on high alert regarding their girlfriend’s reactions. Come on in and see what happens.
This book had me anxious the entire way that there may be true trouble in paradise. I don't know whether to describe the action as a roller coaster or a meat grinder. I'm wrapped up in Stone & Harper's relationship that tightly. I don't want to spoil anything, just want to prepare readers this is a bumpy ride ( to happy). Oh these kids!!
I loved coming back to Mudville to see what’s up with Harper and Stone two years after they got together. I didn’t like Harper at some point this time but I still loved Stone and the read. Not surprising because I love reading Cat Johnson.
I freaking love the town of Mudville!!!! From Petunia the Pig, to the Old Biddies, to the Girls and the brothers. It's small town living at its finest. Being back for Christmas and a wedding to boot was perfect. Harper and Stone are my favorite of the bunch for sure
A look into Mudville and how everyone is settling in has Harper rethinking her life. Stone is making a debut into writing lol, tho not intentionally. Ups and downs of these two after being together for two years.
This was a cute story. Nice to read more about Harper and Stone. I'm hoping Cat will continue this series with more characters in Mudville. Still waiting to hear more about the discoveries in Rose's diaries that we were promised, though. Keep them coming!
Harper is a writer that likes to procrastinate. She finds ways to procrastinate from writing and keep her busy. Her boyfriend Stone is a real laid back guy and they really compliment each other. Sweet little town.
I love reading another Mudville book. It is so exciting going back and reading about my favourite residents and checking in on in old friends and their new stories.
2.5 stars This lacked some of the pizzazz of the other books. It was nice to wrap up the romances of the three Morgan Brothers, but this story was not my favorite.
This book was like the train wreck that you new was going to end badly but you couldn't turn away. You had to keep reading to see how it all turns out.
