Scottie the cat has a problem; his owner's girlfriend is planning a murder. Scottie has an additional problem; he needs to stop the woman before she kills his main source of food - his owner.

I couldn't muster up enough empathy for any character in this book, including the cats, and I usually adore the little freaks! The girlfriend was cold, hard and manipulative. The owner was a slob who believed that a girlfriend comes with a "maid" tag pinned to her breast. The cats ranged from annoying to self-absorbed to lacking mental capacity. There was no one to root for. I went along for the ride, but couldn't enjoy it.

This is so charming and such a fun read ! This is the debut in the new cat cozy series "Cozy Cat Thriller " series by author and cat lover Peter Scottsdale. This is a engaging fun read that I recommend for all of us that are owned by our cats and love all things cat.

This is told from the perspective of the cat as the protagnist. Scottie is a 8 year old cat who has a pet parent named Jamie. Jamie has a criminal girlfriend unknown to him who plots to kill him with her boyfriend. Jamie has no idea and Scottie must find a way to communicate to Jamie he is in danger while he stops the crime. .He has two other cat companions but they are true cats in nature and not wanting to help. He finds his bravery to stop the evil plot and save his owner .

This is a very cleverly done mystery that was fun to read and had great antics by all the cats. The author clearly knows cats and he writes of them so well that you feel you know these cats. I loved it !!! Review cross posted.

Scottie and Tanzy are two rescue cats who live with their human Jamie, who loves them, and Jamie's girlfriend Lisa, who hates them. Alley, Jamie's daughter's kitten, joins the family.
The story begins when Scottie overhears Lisa planning Jamie's murder to keep his money and his assets. From that moment on, the three clever kittens do everything in their little paws to save Jamie's life.
In this story, the only intelligent and thinking beings are the cats and Lisa, the evil bride. Jamie is blinded by his love for Lisa and the other human character, Bruce, is a hopeless idiot.
The only thing that makes Jamie a little likable is the love he feels for his cats, which he, by the way, adopted from the local SPCA.
I thank the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
The opinion I have expressed above is based solely on what I think and feel about this book.

What an entertaining, cute little book! How novel to have a cat's pov telling the story. Clever little furballs...

Kitties Scotty and Tansey have a problem. Their owner is about to be murdered and they have to stop it.
The author knows his cats well - there wasn't a whisker out of place. Our feline heroes are fully fleshed as cats go. It was fun reading from their point of view.

I look forward to reading another Cozy Cat Crime Caper.

Cat Behind the Curtain

I'll read any book with a cat in it. This is a sweet story of a tabby cat named Scottie who over hears something he shouldn't have. The lady he despises is going to kill his human. She has plotted with her lover to kill Jamie for his insurance policy. Now, Scottie can't let that happen but what can one cat do. Read the book and you'll see how size doesn't matter when it comes to saving your human.

fun read

I have always, in the back of my mind, wondered what my cat would do if there was ever an intruder in my house. I’d like to believe he would be as brave as Scottie is. What a touching tale about the love that cats have for their owners. We are indeed very blessed to have them in our lives.

Honestly, I’m more of a “dog person”, but thought this one might be interesting and humorous…. I wasn’t disappointed. Three cats struggling to save their master from murder and their superior sleuthing skills are put to the test. If you’re truly a “cat-person”, this is one that you don’t want to miss…

I am such a crazy cat lady that i really enjoyed this even though i`m not too fond of mystery and some thrillers, but this one was sort of charming and i adored that the cats were the main characters.

Great Story

Even though you can't "talk" their language, cat's can apparently understand yours. These cats are quite something. I laughed when they started their antics. A great read.

A Good Read

A fun read featuring two cats who's owner is in danger. I liked how crafty and innovative they were. The cats had their own characteristics, and when a third cat joined them, he was very different from them. I'm going to read the next book too.

I had a great time reading this novel wholly, wholly delighted at a cat being the narrator behind the action of other cats. I even enjoyed reading dog-narrator novels as well to be honest evenly, so I would like to go for the next book in this series probably!

Read in one sitting

Very good. Author obviously knows cats. Only complaint is how he kept mentioning that Randy loved sleeping in the clothes basket. Once or twice would do. The last time was clever. Will read more in the series

This book was one of the best ones that I have read all year! Finally a book told from the point of view of cats, while also keeping them safe and turning them into heroes. It was funny, exciting and had a happy ending. You honestly cannot get much better than that in a book.

Princess Fuzzypants here: Cheers for Scottie, a brave, loyal and intrepid kitty who owns Jamie. It is a good thing Tanzy and Alley are both feline members of his household because Jamie is not the brightest bulb on two legs. In fact, early in the book, I was getting frustrated with how dense he truly was. Not only did he miss the character flaws in his fiancé, Lisa, he was unaware of her manipulations.

That would have been bad enough but there is worse. She hates cats, especially Jamie’s three and she is trying to kill Jamie for his money and will kill the cats afterwards. Scottie cannot get through to Jamie it seems and Jamie is no Mensa candidate. It is up to Scottie to convince his two female felines to help him thwart the evil deed. What is a cat to do? Turns out quite a lot.

You will thrill to the suspense of the close calls and enjoy as the kitties deal out the well earned comeuppance. Jamie is safe with these three on the job. Five purrs and two paws up;

Thank you NetGalley, Peter Scottsdale and BooksGoSocial for the ARC of The Cat Behind the Curtain. This is my personal review.
Scottie hears Lisa plotting to talking to kill Jamie who is Lisa’s boyfriend. She is planning this with her secret boyfriend, Bruce.
The only problem Scottie is going to have is how to let Jamie know this is in the works to happen soon. You see Scottie is Jamie’s cat.
Scottie tries to get Tanzy- Jamie’s other cat to help stop the murder.
You will have to read this cozy murder book to find out how things turn out. It is a short read but very enjoyable.
This is the first book in A Cozy Cat Crime Caper series.

I have never read a mystery with the main perspective being the cat’s! I loved it. The mystery itself was a good one, credible and suspenseful. But the cat was the hero of the book for me in more ways than one. This quirky way to tell a story really added a sense of fun to the book. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Scottie overhears his owner Jamie's girlfriend plot to kill him and Scottie knows he must stop her... but how, he's just a cat! Can Scottie stop the murder happening? Can he get some help to do so? Or is it a lost cause? A thrilling and funny tale that kept me reading until I had finished it in one sitting. I really enjoyed it and found it to be a very unique book. Recommended! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

Lisa and Bruce decide to kill Jamie since he added Lisa to his will. Unfortunately, Jamie’s cat, Scottie, overhears the two plotting to poison his human and wonders how he can warn Jamie. Scottie tries to enlist Jamie’s other cat, Tanzy, in his efforts to save Jamie and the various attempts make for an entertaining afternoon, especially for feline fans. Only 128 pages long, The Cat Behind the Curtain is an engaging read.

😽😻📚Claire Bear & Mel Mel's Book Reviews 📚😻😽 'The Cat Behind The Curtain - A Cozy Cat Crime Caper.' by Peter Scottsdale.
Genre: Cozy Mystery.

About the book: Scottie & Tanzy live a lovely life with their devoted owner - Jamie. Jamie's cats are an important part of his life and he would not consider making a commitment to his long term girlfriend unless she also cared for his furbabies. However, unknown to him; his girlfriend hates his cats and she has sinster plans to inherit her boyfriend's fortune.

My Review: I loved it! - Fantastic novella full of cats, mystery, suspense and humour!
This book is consice and set at a great pace. There is no over description at all. A brilliant balance of show and tell.
The three cat characters are 3 dimensional and loveable! Even tanzy who can appear fiesty at times.
Peter shows he has a good knowledge of cats. It makes the fictional world realistic.
I was hooked from the first page, such an enjoyable read.

Triggers - Animal Cruelty & Violence.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a cozy mystery - especially cat lovers. I will definitely be looking in to Peters additional books.
