This is a Clean Romance, and this is the fourth book in the O'Callahan series. I have not read the other books in this series, but I do not think that took anything away from enjoying this book. I really loved the characters in this book. The romance was so slow moving for me, but the mystery/suspense was everything in this book. The twist was really good. I really loved the end so much.
Lisa Harris has become one of my favorite authors, whether it be one of her longer trade paperback suspense novels, or the mass market Love Inspired Suspense books. This is the 4th (I think) in a series about brothers, and was what I assume is the ending to the series. I always enjoy books where there is a secret kid the father doesn't know about like in this one....it is an interesting angle. As always the suspense was non stop and the book was a great read
This book surprised me in a good way and love when that happens! Claire is staying at a B&B when she wakes up to the place on fire...and she's there to investigate an arsonist! Yeah, this story pulled me in quickly. She is also hoping not to run into her ex who is now a firefighter, I understand how she feels but the plot has other plans for her.
Claire is keeping a secret from her ex, Reid, but I was eager for her to spill it every scene she is with him trying to find this criminal. Reid and Claire are BOTH targets to something deadly going on and I really wanted them to find the bad guy.
I suspected halfway through who the culprit was, but had no idea what their motive was and would never have guessed. LOVED Reid's family, they really enhanced the story. Glad this was in my kindle, there were a few slight mistakes in the story but they didn't distract me. A real pleasure reading this one.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Christmas Up in Flames. I really enjoy Lisa's books and I'm always glad to get one in the mail. This story is well written, action packed and full of drama. I know you are going to love it.
Fire Inspector Claire Holiday is sent to her ex's home town to investigate a serial arsonist. Her first night in town the bed and breakfast is set on fire and she is almost killed. She is rescued by her ex. They soon find out that it was intentional. Someone wants to kill her. What would happen to her son if she were to die?
Firefighter Reid O'Callaghan (her son's secret father) rescues Claire. He is surprised to find the woman he had left years ago. The one woman he hadn't been able to forget. Now he has to work with her to find a serial arsonist. Can he keep her safe without losing his heart again?
A journey to find an arsonist and keep themselves safe. Two brokenhearted souls are forced together in their investigation. God has a plan for a second chance for these His children. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around even in this time of chaos.
This is the last in the series and was lots of fun to read. Harris always has great pace in her stories that keeps you flipping pages. The story is a good one about a serial arsonist who comes to Timber Falls and targets the investigator handling the case. Claire Holiday is the investigator and she has a history in Timber Falls and with one of the O'Callaghan brothers, Reid. Reid and Claire did fireperson school together and fell in love but their relationship ended many years ago.
There's good suspense, a few good plot twists and two strong lead characters who clearly still have strong feelings towards each other.
A thoroughly enjoyable read. I'm sad the series has ended.
I've really been enjoying this series. Lots of outdoor scenes and great descriptions that make you feel present in the scene, intelligent and crafty criminals, likable characters, and a fabulous family ranch at the foot of the Rockies. This one's started with a bang as an arsonist tries to burn the heroine alive in her bed and breakfast when she's in town to hunt a serial arsonist. But as attacks begin to target her, she's got to figure out if it's the serial arsonist or a copycat with a far more personal aim.
Being trapped in her bedroom with her B&B burning up around her is about the scariest thing in my opinion! That would be terrifying! Add to that, she is a fire inspector. Sent to investigate an arson, she soon finds out there is a serial arsonist who is after her now too. In the midst of it all, the firefighter who rescues her is none other than her son's father, only he doesn't know he even has a son. This story is full of twists, turn, and tons of suspense!

Wow! Danger on every corner, Suspense at its finest. NEVER saw the guilty party till it was almost too late. This is also a story of second chances. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
Lisa Harris has a winner in Christmas Up in Flames. From start to finish the story grabs your attention and won't let go. Well blended with suspense, fear, hope, faith and romance but so much more!

First book by this author and totally enjoyed the story which had just the right mix of romance, mystery, as well as great development of all the characters. Want to read the stories of the other brothers now!
I love Lisa Harris’ books. She has me from the first page. My husband will ask “Is that a Harris book” because he knows I will not put it down until I finish. This series was great!
Christmas Up In Flames, the fourth and final book of this series, is the story of prodigal son Reid O'Callaghan and his former girlfriend, Claire Holiday. Reid and Claire were a great couple that the author kept in one suspense-filled situation to the next. Best of all, Lisa Harris used them to deliver a wonderful lesson in love and forgiveness.
Reid left Timber Falls for firefighter training in Denver. There he met Claire, a fellow candidate, and they fell in love. When things turned serious, Reid panicked and told her he was not ready for marriage and a family. Shortly after he broke up with her and returned home, Claire found out she was pregnant.
Six years later, Claire, now a fire inspector, arrives in Timber Falls looking for an arsonist. When Claire becomes a target, Reid, still a firefighter, is assigned to protect her and help identify the culprit. Both having developed strong faith-filled lives, they realize they never stopped loving each other. Claire wonders when Reid finds out he has a son though whether he has changed his mind about wanting to settle down.
