Dr. Brandt is trapped—trapped and tied to a chair in a dark room by the mysterious Shadow. To survive, he needs to solve three mysteries before the lights turn on. Can a series of e-mail messages lure an investment banker into a life-ruining gambling addiction? Can the hacker, who took over Lissa’s computer, win her to his side, and then infiltrate and take down the world’s largest publishing company? Can Martin, who is attending a fiction writing workshop with a world famous author, survive an armed assault by secret agents of a hostile foreign power? The doctor will be freed by solving these three perplexing puzzles—puzzles that seem completely independent of each other. Or, will he remain trapped as a prisoner of the darkness? Will Dr. Brandt sacrifice his dreams for reality? And will Shadow give up on reality to follow his dreams? Perhaps every unsolved mind room will build new rooms. This story has been adapted from an event that can happen at any moment.
This book had me hooked from the first page forward. Who is this dark figure who calls himself Shadow, and why is Dr. Brandt pursuing him? There are really three storylines here that suddenly converge in the last few chapters. This novel is a literary version of a Rubik's cube. It's a very satisfying when the last block clicks into place. "Mind Rooms" will keep your mind engaged both before and after you finish reading it. Well done, Cem Gulbent!
