Pirate's Gold

Rate this book
With Earth far behind her, Terri is certain that space is the answer to every desire she’s ever had for an adventure...until she realized just what being mated to an overprotective, territorial male meant. One small incident and Veral has kept her hidden away in the safety of their ship. For the months that they have been traveling to their salvage operation therefore has been a very long, boring trip, that is suddenly made a lot more interesting when they find themselves at the mercy of space pirates who are also in search of the ship. Life is suddenly becoming a lot more adventurous than what she asked for!

Veral does not trust any male anywhere near his mate. As a species unheard of in space, she is exotic which makes her desirable to many males, and he will not risk her for anyone. When space pirates hold her hostage to ensure his cooperation, he is determined to stall for time to give an unlikely source of help time to arrive. Discovering that the lost ship, Evandra has dangerous secrets makes the situation all the more complicated than he anticipated. With a world fraught with dangers, Veral is certain of one thing—Nothing will come between an Argurma and his mate.

Rereading this book was pure delight. As many knows, I have a soft spot for this series and I don't think this will change anytime soon. Before I start with my review, I think it's important to mention that this book is the second installment in this Argurma Salvager trilogy, and I would recommend to read Broken Earth before picking it up.

This book sets the story about five months after Veral and Terri departed from Earth to pursue their adventures as salvagers. Being of an exotic nature in space, Terri attracts a lot of unwanted attention which only increases Veral's protectiveness of his mate. On their way to their next job, they encounter ruthless space pirates who will stop at nothing to get what they want; blackmailing Veral into helping them find the treasure of a long lost legendary spaceship that crashed on a dangerous planet, by threatening his mate's life. But as the Intergalactic Files of Argurma Biology Data warns it best:

⚠️It must be noted to especially avoid confrontations with mated Argurmas, and never get between a male and his mate.⚠️

The best thing about Veral was how he stayed true to who he was from the first book; a grumpy, impatient and irritable loner. He didn't care about anything else but his mate's wellbeing and safety. Throughout the whole book, he was fiercely protective and territorial of Terri, always thinking of her first. The sweetest part about his character was how cold and intimidating he was towards anyone who wasn't Terri, only showing his soft side to her, teasing, caring, loving, with small subtle gestures and glances, truly besotted with her. Devoted to no end.

“I would kill all of them for you and lay them vanquished at your feet that you would be adorned in the glory of the blood I shed in your honor. Never has a mate been more deserving of such honors.” -Veral

“It may be prudent if you stay aboard the ship next time. The males exhibit too much interest in you. I do not mind exercising my right to protect you and detach their reproductive organs from their bodies, but it unnecessarily alarms security and brings attention on us.” -Veral

Terri was likable, once more. She was lively and brave, a little sunshine in contrast to her mate. Her exotic looks and her scent attracted unwanted attention from other species whenever they would stop at outposts which only increased Veral's instincts of protection towards her. In this adventure, she learned how dangerous the space was and how primordial it was for her to adapt to it, and listen to Veral even if he was overbearing at times. She was sweet, strong and loving. The way she understood Veral, his distress, his need for her and the way she would reassure him was precious. The fact that Terri was a few months pregnant in this book wasn't the main focus of the plot, her belly was flat anyways; an argurma pregnancy needing a longer gestation time. Other than the food cravings and Veral being more territorial and guarding of her, it was almost easy to forget that she was pregnant.

“I am not required to be ‘nice.’ My interests do not extend any further than my mate. You would do well to remember just how little my sympathies stretch beyond that. Do not get in my way again.” -Veral

Their chemistry was off the charts, they both cared so much and would think of each other before anything else. Even if there weren't many romantic scenes due to the situation they were in, the moments that we did get were sweet, hot and heartwarming. Veral's attentions, his words, his glances, his discreet gestures towards his mate were adorable. Their forced separation only strengthened their bond and their love and it was beautiful to see. There is just something about them that is so perfect, so right and I love them with all my heart.

“I’ll be yours for as long as you want me,” she whispered.
A purr rattled from him, his hands tightening around her legs.
“Never would there be a time or place where I would not need my anastha, or lay my life and honor before you. You may be mine, but I am yours as well.”

Again, the narrators (Christopher Boucher as Veral and Jessica Threet as Terri) did an amazing job at portraying our main characters as well as the side characters. New enemies, new allies. GREAT characters; I'm thinking especially of Azan, a tough Blaithari female, as well as Garswal, a hybrid youngling.

This book had much more adventure than its precursor, more action, more dangers and it was amazing to see the worldbuilding and imagination of S.J. Sanders. She really impressed me with her attention to details; I'm thinking especially about the planet Veral and Terri ended up on with the pirates, that had many perilous obstacles, hard living conditions and unknown dangerous creatures.

It's hard for me to decide if I liked this book more than the first one. They are both great on their own but together, they just hit differently. The bond between Veral and Terri only gets stronger and sweeter as the story goes and I always find myself longing to read more about them. I know the books aren't perfect but they sure do feel like it. And yes, I will most likely reread this series again and again...

Well this was a fun continuation to Veral and Terri's alien romance saga- and plus love that cover!

description

We start out this book with the couple finally out in space- aaand they are having some growing pains. Mostly due to the fact that Terri is considered "exotic" and every gross alien out there wants a piece of her- thus leading to her being trapped on the ship and hidden away 24/7

That is until they come across a group of stranded alien royalty that is looking for a ride. This doesn't exactly turn out well as these pampered idiots leading them to land of a tropical death trap of a planet.

This ended up being a kind of fun Indiana Jones-esque hunt for the holy grail storyline with a treasue obsessed baddie pushing them into dangers for a prize unknown!

description

Looking forward to seeing what that jerk of a cousin gets up to, and if the next book will be his story or if we'll continue to follow the main couple~

It's treasure hunt IN SPACE.

Again, I quite like it. Nothing is spectacularly amazing about it and yet I couldn't stop reading.

So, we have the pairing from last book, and this time they escaped from the obsolete Earth and become space explorer team. In this one, they got involved in a crazy hunt for gold in a humid, greenery infested planet where you got these flesh-eating insects, organisms and botched experimental creatures.

Again, I like the world building, description for these different type of aliens and the monsters in them.

Onto the next book maybe?

This Is the second book in this imaginative series and events pick up here with Veral and Terri living aboard their salvager vessel together In space. Terri is expecting but with Argurma pregnancies lasting three years, they still have plenty of time to travel and have some grand adventures.

Veral is understandably very overprotective in regards to his mate Terri is like an exotic rare creature that many would steal if given the chance and though Veral knows she is brave and strong of heart she doesn’t have the defences to back this up so he wants to hide her away keeping her safe from all those who would do her harm. There's also the small matter of the council so they also need to keep a low profile not drawing unwanted attention to themselves.

Answering a distress call places them both directly in the path of danger. Now Veral is the only thing standing between his mate and death as an unscrupulous pirate captain
Uses Terri as leverage against her mate

This was packed full of action danger and sheer guts and this chapter of Veral and Terri’s journey does show us just how solid a unit these two are becoming and here they must both now work as a team to stay alive both facing daily peril as they traverse some rough terrain planetside. If the local wildlife doesn’t kill them Then the genetically engineered monsters will as they set off on a cross-country quest to locate a lost treasure buried deep within a crashed starship.

This easily managed to keep my attention and was well written with such vivid descriptions that drew me right in. This one made me love Veral and Terri all over again and I’m now incredibly excited for the final book of the series. So each book in this series is a separate story arc no cliffhangers but it does need to be read in order. It’s an imaginative endeavour with an epic cross-species love story and I definitely recommend this series if you like real aliens it’s such a good one.

Space pirates!!! 😂

The hero had been forced to lead a dangerous mission by bunch of killer pirates, if he doesn’t want to do what he’s been told, the pirates will kill his darling mate 😳🥴.

So, they arrived in that scary planet, and it was very dangerous, one by one those useless pirates got killed and they didn’t know who’s killing them! 😘

More adventures type of story than book #1.

Pirate's Gold is book 2 in the Argurma Salvager series and continues the story of Terri and Veral. While on their latest job Terri and Veral's ship is taken over by Pirate's. I liked this story but I enjoyed book 1 more. What I enjoyed was the growth between Terri and Veral, they are both so protective and loving towards each other. Now while there were parts I really enjoyed overall I was bored. The trek through the planet in search of a bounty of wealth while at first exciting took forever and I lost my excitement pretty quickly. With the Captain's constant threatening of Terri I would have preferred his ending be at the hands of Veral. Now while I had issues I do look forward to more Terri and Veral.

I have to admit that while I still very much loved the relationship between Terri and Veral, as well as the characters themselves, this book just...lacked the desperation that Broken Earth did. Like...I know this probably doesn't make sense since they're literally surrounded by dangerous alien pirates and are on a dangerous planet as well, but the whole treasure hunt plot just made me think of Treasure Planet, and, quite honestly, that's not really what I was going for in reading about a human-alien romance.

I guess I was going for more of THIS

And less of THIS

Even though THIS is what I got.

So yeah, a tentative skim on this one as I lost interest in what was happening. But hey, don't get me wrong--it's not that I don't like a good pirate and treasure plot, but I'd like to know what that's what I'm getting into.

Oh and, uh...it was kind of heartbreaking to have our main characters apart for so much of this story. I like them best when they're together, mushball that I am.

All in all, I might take a look at the third book of the series someday, but for now I'll put it on the backburner.

Pirate’s Gold de S.J Sanders Serie
Argurma Salvager libro 2

Argumento:

I loved the first story in this series, and the second continues on strong. PG is full of fast-paced adventure, space pirates, and freaky scifi creatures, while continuing Terri and Veral's storyline. It doesn't lean as hard into horror as BE did, but there's just enough in the action sequences to keep things tense. Thankfully, there's a lot less gore in this one as well.

Life is pretty good to Terri these days, but she's currently on ship arrest because Veral has decided it's the only way to keep alive all of the curious males they encounter and seem to not understand she's not up for grabs. After a run-in with space pirates gives her a clearer view of just how much of a disadvantage she's at compared to the rest of the universe... she starts to wonder how she'll be able to take care of herself so Veral isn't constantly fretting over her.

Veral has a lot on his mind these days: there's keeping unwanted male attention off his mate so he can function, training Terri to be a valuable salvaging partner, and eluding the Council, who are still looking for him and his human to study. It's pretty full in there. When an uncharacteristic decision has an undesired outcome, Veral finds himself in a situation he's never been in before, and he has to play things cagey and close to maneuver events in a way that will keep Terri out of harm's way.

The main story itself is very enjoyable—with a lesser focus on sexual scenes than books in this genre tend to have—but there are a couple secondary characters who seem as though they may get stories of their own that I'm looking forward to.

Especially a dashing and daring female pirate who has no use or love for men. F/F story, please please please?!

Great storyline and characters!

There’s so much interesting universe building throughout this trilogy. It’s much more than just romance, but of course the romance and mating is what captures my heart.
Veral is so dang swoon worthy with his I-don’t-do-emotions-except-for-her, stoicism. And his desire to protect and fell any enemy to his mate and gift their gilded skull to her is the ultimate heart eyes.
But he’s not all talk like some of these book heroes. No, no. Veral is action. He backs that ott deliciousness up with a cold savageness I respect.
And Terri loves it! Which gives me mad respect for her. I am so excited Terri is absolutely worthy of Veral and brings her very own loyalty and strength to their relationship. She inspires the I-want-her-on-my-team-in-the-apocalypse, kinda respect.

Book one starts in a dystopian earth where alien Veral meets human Terri. There’s a great storyline of fighting against a disreputable gang with a sideline of surprise mate bonding.

Book two leads Veral and Terri to another planet where space pirates and biotech run amok causing problems for the couple.

Book three lands the mated pair on Veral’s home planet of Argurumal, where it seems someone might be trying to end Terri’s life.

Veral and Terri’s story wraps up in this third book, but it’s a great universe and I look forward to reading more from it in future!

You wouldn’t think salvaging would be a very dangerous mission, would you? At least, not usually. This mission moves WAY beyond ordinary into the range of catastrophic.
I’m pleased to be back with Veral and his spunky little Terri. As a couple, they are unique and intriguing. Ms. Sanders has created a wild ride for us - barely room between threats to catch a gasp of breath.

Listennnnnnnn

I was blinded sided by the release of this book, I was expecting it another year or more because Sanders have more series that we’re out before the Argurma Salvager. So tickle me purple when I was browsing Amazon and happen to catch this book out the corner of my eye. I would say I floored but that would be an understatement. I’m not going to go into too much detail. This review has some spoilers.

I NEED book three with Veral and Terri, book three had better not be about Kaylar! Veral and Terri story need to be completed before I can move on. I’m waiting to ‘see’ the baby,
dammit! Terri’s stomach is still flat btw even though she is roughly five months into her pregnancy. If I recall the Argurma pregnancies lasts over a year? In any event she been preggo toooo long for me, lol. AND I suspect the council won’t stop just because Kaylar has the coordinates to Earth, supposedly.

Book two was excellent, slight grammatical errors, but I don’t expect books not to have any. And I wanted this one to be even longer. The story ended with a possibility for more Terri and Veral and I hope so, I can not stress my NEED enough, pleaaaasssseeee let there be a third book for one of my favorite couples.

Another solid Argurma Salvager book from S.J. Sanders! I think I have something of a soft spot for this series, since Broken Earth was my gateway drug into alien erotica. Terri and Veral are just kinda cute, even with the kinky alien sex and Veral's weird dick (his "civix") that still doesn't make sense to me. At the end of the day, they've got each other's back and cannot be torn apart by petty insecurities or any foe who comes upon them. Picking this up was like sinking into a warm, familiar bath, and I finished it easily.

**Spoilers below**

This book details Terri and Veral's adventures in space, where Terri is woefully under-equipped to deal with all of the nasty aliens who find her an exotic piece of human ass, which means that Veral gets a little eensy bit over-protective and locks her in the ship whenever he goes out. I'm glad that they are addressing the rather obvious power imbalance that's only rendered more noticeable now that they're in space, whereas before, Terri had unique knowledge of earth to even out the playing field.

When Terri and Veral get captured by space pirates, this power balance becomes even more stark when the pirate captain uses her as a hostage to ensure Veral's compliance with his orders as they seek out the lost treasure of Evandra. Luckily, halfway through, they end up encountering a special biotech symbiont that attaches itself to Terri and gives her superpowers. Very convenient. Still, I look forward to watching that dynamic even out, especially since Veral has recognized his overprotective nature by the end of the novel and endeavors to do better.

With the number of times Terri's put into a life-threatening situation, I'm stunned that her alien baby is still alive. She's a sturdy thing, indeed. By this point in the series, Terri doesn't bat an eye at Veral's somewhat violent proclamations of love:
"Perfection," he hissed as he gazed upon her. "I would kill all of them for you and lay them vanquished at your feet that you would be adorned in the glory of the blood I shed in your honor. Never has a mate been more deserving of such honors."
"Fuck, I love it when you promise to do horrific things to my enemies," she whispered as she slid her hands over his taut pectorals.
"I would feed you delicacies from their bones."
"Okay, a little much there... but I can definitely get down with feeding me. In all ways."

How cute. #couplegoals

There were some charming side characters in this one, and I appreciate that Veral and Terri's relationship actually grew rather than staying stagnant. It's not quite a five stars from me because there was room for more depth and complexity of theme, and the whole pregnancy plotline was basically ignored even though I imagine that it should have posed a greater concern than just "I have weird cravings". I also, yet again, had a hard time visualizing some of the aliens and some of the action scenes. There were a few typos, and some scene progressions didn't make a ton of sense, but they're pretty minor.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and I look forward to reading more adventures with these two idiots in space.

Pirate’s Gold, the second installment in S.J. Sanders’ Argurma Salvager series, is a thrilling ride filled with action, romance, and deep space adventure. Picking up where the first book left off, Sanders delves further into the world of intergalactic piracy, salvage operations, and unlikely alliances. This time, the stakes are even higher as the crew faces new enemies, all while navigating personal relationships that add layers of complexity to the narrative.

The book shines in its world-building. Sanders has a knack for creating rich, detailed environments that draw you in. From the gritty salvage yards to the pirate ships roaming the galaxy, every setting feels alive. The action scenes are equally vivid, keeping you on edge with fast-paced sequences that are easy to visualize.

The characters remain the heart of the story. The chemistry between the protagonist and the Argurma alien lead continues to sizzle, balancing the tension of their dangerous escapades. The romance is intense, but well-integrated into the plot, never detracting from the central adventure. Sanders also does a great job of giving her side characters enough depth to make them stand out, even in their supporting roles.

However, some parts of the book feel predictable, especially if you’re familiar with the tropes of the genre. While this doesn’t take away from the fun, there are moments where you wish the plot twists would be less obvious. Additionally, the pacing can be uneven at times, with certain sections dragging while others fly by.

Overall, Pirate’s Gold is a fantastic follow-up that delivers on the promises of the first book. It’s perfect for fans of space romance, adventure, and a good pirate tale. While there’s room for a bit more unpredictability, it’s still an immensely enjoyable read that leaves you eager for more. If you loved the first book, this one will not disappoint!

While I did enjoy this, the first book was better. Terri annoyed me slightly here. The first 20% was meh, but picked up around 30%. Veral as usual could do no wrong, but I was surprised by how easily he was captured along with Terri. Especially once they got to the planet they were forced to be guides on. Veral had plenty of opportunities to take the pirate captain out. I was a bit underwhelmed when he finally bit it. All of Veral's threat's of taking his head did not go down. But overall the story was engaging and it had quite the adventure. Even though the characters here are mates for life it's not very romantic if that's what you're looking for. He's protective yes, but Veral's feelings come from a lot of logic and reasoning. His specie's is bred only to populate and produce strong warriors. Not for love. At a certain age their offspring is taken away from them to be put into their society. Veral is actually considered defective by his people which made the first book so interesting watching as he started to change and fall for Terri.

Ugh this was even better than the first book I'm so in love with this plot! 🥰

There was more action & suspense, a new danger met our couple and they had to overcome the challenges while Terri was facing her own pregnancy challenges.

Veral was great in this book but we was somehow less scary and not described as a total murder machine as he was in the 1st book, maybe it was the hostage situation that had him tied by the balls idk but I liked him better when he was more ruthless 🤷🏻‍♀️

The pirates were well written and the descent and exploration of the humid planet was captivating!

This read, to me, felt like watching a movie, it was written THAT good! Details seem to be this author's forte and they're killing it with the sci-fi facts I'm in awe 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars — Alien pirates, strange planets, and relationship glow-ups!

It’s not every day you get multiple books following the same alien couple, and honestly, I’m loving it. Pirate’s Gold lets us see how their relationship keeps evolving—still steamy, still chaotic, but now with that deeper “we’ve been through stuff together” kind of bond.

The worldbuilding stays fresh, with plenty of new adventures on strange worlds, mysterious treasures, and enough pirate antics to make you grin. It’s part romance, part sci-fi exploration, and all fun.

Basically, if you like your love stories mixed with danger, space pirates, and just the right amount of emotional growth, this one’s a treasure worth digging up. 🏴‍☠️✨

Space pirates and treasure hunt IN SPACE. Need I say more??

This book is a continuation of Terri and Veral‘s story and it did not disappoint. Veral was very aggressive over anyone daring to hurt his mate and repeatedly offered Terri the skulls of her "enemies" as trophies lmao. Somehow, that’s a romantic and honoring gesture according to Veral. Terri doesn’t agree 😂

Terri, despite her very sunshiny personality, is incredibly brave and cunning when it comes to the space pirates hijacking their ship. The dynamic between her and Veral is heartwarming and their chemistry is electric.

Also, there were a lot of sci-fi creatures in this action packed story that made the plot borderline horror. Not that I complain –I loved it– but now I crave more space adventure books. Oh well.

While planning their next salvage, Veral and Terri get tricked and taken over by pirates. They use Terri as a hostage to get Veral to lead them to an alien treasure on a dangerous jungle planet.

Lot's of peril with the feel of an action-adventure movie.

Still love Terri and Veral, just not as good as the first book.

It’s wild and exciting!
Hang on!
An excellent, high intensity story, with ‘just deserts’ lavishly administered to ‘worthy’ individuals.

Good story

The story continues along great. My only issue was with the MF. She somehow reverts to acting like a naive little girl instead of a 29 year old survivor. She spent years alone scrounging and sometimes going hungry yet she wants to start stealing and break rules because she's missed one meal?

A great follow-up to Broken Earth, Pirate's Gold shows that you can have a great science fiction paranormal romance AFTER both sides say "I love you". You know what I'm talking about. Why is it that we always see the action before the all-conclusive mating and that's that? What happened afterwards? And it better be more than a few-page epilogue. Well, this is a story that shows there is live after "I love you" alien-style.

Terri, Earther female, is now firmly mated with Veral, an Argurma salvager, when they get a salvaging assignment beyond their dreams! A legendary ship of a now-defunct alien culture that happened years prior has crash-landed on a jungle-like planet, and Veral has been sent to find anything of value. Unfortunately, his ship is commandeered by an ex-pat of royal lineage (a royal bastard of a true blood line) who is greedy for this ancient culture's wealth and technology that he has no problem killing whomever might be in his way. In this case, he holds Terri hostage so that he can "persuade" Veral to assist him. It may look like a dead-end with no life together afterward in their sight, but both Terri and Veral work hard separately so that both can see each other again.

Is this a typical, overused scenario? Not really. S.J. Sanders breathed in new life and new twists in what could had been a boring, plot complication, and I do appreciate that. I also appreciate the continued world-building and excellent, newly introduced characters (other than Terri and Veral) which gave this book richness. There are a few places I felt things could had been further enriched, but in the long run, I liked what I read.

My only problem has to do with the Kindle Cloud Reader. Something has happened, and now it is slower and more difficult to turn pages, and I can't afford this. As it is, my Mac-to-Kindle got corrupted, and all my books I've bought through Amazon are being held hostage. If I can't use Cloud Reader, then what?

There were typos and mistakes sprinkled throughout, which got distracting. That the main couple once again stumbled into an easily-avoidable sticky situation grated on me, since I'm not a fan of TSTL types.

However, the adventure portion of the plot more than made up for other weaknesses in it. And the world-building was better than it was in book 1.

⚠TW: Violence, gore, and blood.

Terri and Veral are out in space, going on another scavenging mission for a long-lost alien spaceship that supposedly has a lot of riches in it. But, to Terri's dismay, being trapped in space with nothing to do and an annoyingly overprotective mate to deal with is surprisingly boring. When they encounter the crew of a lost prince, Veral's only choice is to help them - even if he get's very grumpy about it - and let them on board. He doesn't trust any male near his beloved and frail human mate. That's when things go down, they're now prisoners of space pirates and the mission is now theirs. Will Veral be able to protect his mate? Will Terri finally be able to go on an adventure?

I really liked this one, seriously. The story is compelling, the writing is amazing. I'm pleased with everything. Veral was very protective of Terri for almost the entire book, which is not a bad thing per se, but it gave me the feeling he thought she was helpless all the time, and Terri is anything but helpless. I was more than pleased with the development, Veral had problems and was not a perfect dude with a perfect cock capable of swooning his mate at first glance. No. He is flawed, and he actually grows throughout the story. I like him very much. Terri is a force of nature herself, she is strong and easily bored. She is kind of helpless while confronting other alien races but Veral had just the thing to help her with that. I really liked their development, I really liked the story in general.

But it was not a 5-stars story for me, it's a strong 4-stars.

Disclaimer: I'm way more critical with my ratings (one of the things I evolved while reading a shitton of books). And I just wanted to say that while this book is a 4-stars, when I give other 3-stars it doesn't mean they're bad. They just lacked the thing to make it a 4-stars. Just like this one lacked the thing to make it a 5-stars. I also will try to put trigger warnings of the book on my reviews.

I still love how protective Veral is! He does it not because she is weak, but because he wants to protect her. He knows she’s strong. He just does everything in his power to keep her safe.

In this book Veral and Terri are travelling through space, picking up salvaging jobs. Terri is beginning to feel closed in. Till they come across a ship with passengers whose ship is malfunctioning and is low on essentials. Against Veral wishes they allow them to board to take them somewhere else.

This proves to be an unwise choice. Terri is held hostage to ensure Verals cooperation. They are to take them to a planet said to have a ship crashed with riches beyond compare.

Terri is used against Veral the whole time. The crew of space pirates force Veral to take them to the treasure.

They travel through an alien jungle filled with predators who slowly pick off the crew.

Veral had sent a signal to his cousin for his help when they first got kidnapped. The Argurma have internal communication through their implants. He agrees to help to get the earth coordinates.

Terri befriends the pirates second, as she is being forced to be there.

During the trek Terri gets a biotech experiment attached to her, something that was created from the owners of the ship before the crash. This connections to her body and becomes apart of her and protects her.

The owners of the ship have been an advanced species perfecting their science. In their experiments they created something that surpassed their AI implants and evolved into things far powerful than they intended. And they may have been the reason for their crash.

Again I really don't like the book covers of this series- they look like a manga cartoon or and i cannot equate the image i have of veral with that on the cover.

Overall a good read.interesting plot though at times I felt it was silly. Like when veral locked them in the med bay why didn't he just stay there with terri, or leave her safely there whilst he went and killed the pirate captain? It didn't make sense at all and is why I've deducted a star.

A few times veral could have gotten them out of the situation but he didn't.

Additionally with all the technology on their 3 ships not one had the tech to move or raise the ship so they could enter safely the princes vault? Ergo drain the water thereby killing the two shark type creatures.

So they left a princes fortune in the ship and no one thought of another way to retrieve it or the tech?

Didnt make sense.

Still enjoyable though frustrating with the aforementioned.

In this second book in the series Terri and Veral get into a pirate trap. The pirates take them hostage and use Terri as a thread for Veral to do what they want. Together they fly to an abounded planet to search for a treasure.

Once again I loved this. I love the dedication that Terri and Veral have for each other. I love how thick headed Terri is and that with that she makes bad decisions. It’s basically on her that they fall into the pirates trap.

I liked some of the side characters we got to know and I wish we would get to know how their story goes on.

This was once again thrilling and funny and cute and I enjoyed it lots.

I am very much looking forward to book three.
