Everything at Last ( Magnolia, #2) by Kimberly Lang is a 2016 publication.

The romance is a little understated and while there are adult situations and innuendo, the door to the bedroom is closed.
However, I did pick up on some important points in the story I feel are worth mentioning--
With women, the struggle for independence can be a hard fought battle and for Molly it is especially important, as is her privacy. However, in our ‘strong woman’ society, we sometimes forget that accepting help is not a sign of weakness. That’s what friends and family do and that’s true with our romantic relationships as well… we take care of each other, have each other’s back. One can still take care of things, fight their own battles, and yet lean on someone for support and allow them to help carry the burden. Yet, trusting someone and letting go or backing off is also a part of making relationships of any kind work.
Overall, this is a nice, solid, sweet contemporary romance, which adds some subtle life messages, with shades of chick lit or women’s fiction as well. This is a story most anyone can enjoy.

Loved it. I received an Arc of this book for an honest review. It gets a definite 5 stars from me.

I want to leave here in Magnolia beach. Kimberly made the characters and place so real that you felt you were there and I just love small town romances. The story is about secrets, attraction. hot alpha men, friendships, jealousy, and of course love.

Molly Richards owns the Latte Dah coffee shop, she has been hurt in the past and stays clear of the men in the town and she keeps herself to herself. One day her landlady has to leave town for an emergency and asks Molly to take over the organizing of the Childrens fair. Molly is left with no option to say yes even though she knows she is in it over her head and starts to freak. Helena Mollys friend tries to calm her down and invites her over to her grandmas house for tea.

Vet Tate Harris is also one of the single men in the town but stays clear of the local ladies as he hates the feeling of awkwardness when a relationship break ups, he however can not help himself in helping a damsel in distress. So when his friend Helena asks him over to her Grans for tea,and when he gets there, he sees Mollys there too -it is only then during conversation that he realises when she tells Molly that he knows how the fair works that he has been head worked. Of course he offers his help and this is the start of a beautiful story.

You are swept away with this story and it is great to see Molly start to trust herself with the fair and her attraction to Tate. Tate is definitely a true alpha hero and I can not wait for more Magnolia Beach.

Review:

Everything at Last is the continuation of the Magnolia Beach series. This second book in the series is such a delight. I get caught up in the small town drama and felt as though I was a resident listening to gossip about people I know; a very engaging story.

Molly Richards is the owner of Latte Dah, the only coffee shop in Magnolia Beach and has been for just over two years. She has a secret (of course – who doesn’t?). Molly is sour on love as a result of her marriage to an abusive husband and has run away from Fuller, Alabama (on a mere six hour drive from Magnolia Beach), but far enough for Molly. She knew that:

“Eventually she’d have to go back-her day of reckoning would come-but until then, it wa easy for forget Fuller even existed. This was where she wanted to be.”

Molly’s landlady, Mrs. Kennedy, has a family emergency she must attend to and therefore leave town. Giving as Molly is, she offers: “Please let me know if there’s anything I can do.” Mrs. Kennedy asks Molly to take over the organizing of the Children’s Fair on the Memorial Day weekend. This is a big event which marks the official start of the tourist season…so it is a BIG deal. Needless to say, Molly does not want to mess this up.

Tate Harris, local veterinarian and hot single guy as well as best friends with Helena Wheeler (also best buddies with Molly Richards). Tate also has “let me help a damsel in distress” syndrome. He definitely is skeptical about dating from the pool of eligible women in Magnolia Beach…after all….coming in frequent contact with an ex can be awkward.

While Molly is visiting Helena, she brings up her fears with respect to organizing the Children’s Fair. Luckily, Helena knows that Tate has experience so she quickly gets him to drop by, thereby officially introducing Molly and Tate. There are definite sparks between them, but they each hold themselves back to the friend zone until……..late one evening a crisis arose in which Molly needed the veterinarian. After that, their attraction sizzled.

I came across a number of humorous moments throughout the book. I love the dialogue surrounding the topic of therapy. Tate is questioning Helena about Molly when he indicates that Molly is giving Sam (his sister) self-help books to read:

“Oh, that’s good. I wish I’d thought of it. I think Sam will really benefit from them, especially if Molly’s loaning the books I think she is.”

“You read self-help books?” His jaw felt a little slack. Helena would probably be the last person on earth he’d expect to put any faith in self-help gobbledygook.

“Yeah. Why?” There was a challenge in her voice.

“You just seem…” there was that eyebrow of doom again. “I mean, you are…”.

“I’m what?” Her tone was sweet, but he wasn’t stupid enough to miss the obvious warning underneath. You’re fine. In a not-crazy way”

Seems like Tate is certainly digging himself into a hole! He does do this periodically throughout the story. Definitely keeps him like a real down to earth guy to me since we all fumble at times!

I found the writing style of Ms. Lang certainly made me hope for a successful relationship between Molly and Tate, irrespective of the baggage each was carrying. I felt as if I were another resident of Magnolia Beach, entrenched in the Memorial Day weekend events as well as taking my daily coffee breaks at Latte Dah. I love being vested in a story that much. I can’t wait for the next installment of the Magnolia Beach series. This book works as a standalone title; however, reading the first book in the series will provide more insight into the characters of the town (specifically Helena).

My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2016/01...

Everything at Last is a charming read filled with warm, welcoming characters and a romance that will leave you with a smile on your face. I’m a sucker for a sweet small town romance and Kimberly Lang has delivered an absolutely delightful one.

After escaping a horrible marriage, Molly Richards has built a new life for herself in Magnolia Beach. She adores the town she now calls home, but she still keeps herself set just a bit apart from others, save for her best friend, Helena. Now Molly’s been charged with organizing the town’s Children’s Fair and she’s not only in the limelight, she’s in over her head. Luckily for her, Molly finds a white knight in veterinarian Tate Harris. Tate knows Molly through Helena, but he’s never truly looked at her. But working together on the fair brings them closer together, and Tate starts to see Molly in a new light. Molly’s marriage may have soured her on relationships, but there’s no denying the budding attraction between her and Tate. Both of them will have to face their pasts and take a risk if they hope to have a chance of a relationship.

Ms. Lang makes it supremely easy to root for Molly and Tate – they’re both endearing characters with caring hearts. Molly has been through a terrible marriage and has had to handle an unsupportive family on top of it. It takes a spine of steel to stand up to that and make a new life, and it’s clear Molly has that. Her past has made her wary of opening up, but it was lovely to watch her come out of her shell over the course of the book. Tate is the catalyst for her change in some ways, and he’s also her perfect match. I have a soft spot for veterinarian heroes, so of course Tate won me over from the start. That being said, he’s not a perfect hero. He’s got White Knight Syndrome and this causes him to mess up more than once, but the fact that he wasn’t perfect made the story all the more interesting. It isn’t all smooth sailing for Molly and Tate, but Ms. Lang makes all the obstacles in their path worth it.

Everything at Last is the second book in the Magnolia Beach series but it can be read as a standalone. What can sometimes make or break a small town romance is the townspeople and the residents of Magnolia Beach are warm and inviting. Ms. Lang made me want to visit this lovely Southern town, which means I’ll definitely be going back to read the first Magnolia Beach book, Something to Prove.

My Review:
I have mixed feelings for this book. At some points the pacing, the characters and the plot are great but at others I wasn't sure what to make of it other than Molly and Tate pulled me through the moments it didn't work because Lang has created them as such fantastic characters, and I believed in them as a couple. So regardless of my hesitation over some of the other issues it was the h/h's relationship and their bond that worked for me.
Sometimes when I read books its not the story itself that keeps me interested sometimes its only the cast and this was one of those reads for me.

This is the second book that I have read in the Magnolia Beach series and I loved it just as much as the first. Characters that I can easily invest in. A storyline that draws me in but isn't overly complicated. All in all the series that thus far left me longing to travel to Alabama and have a cup of Rocket Fuel at Latte Dah.

A fantastic series that keeps me up at night to read "just one more page" which turns into the whole book.

This second addition to the series, Everything at Last, is a cute romance featuring a heroine who is starting over in small town Alabama and a local man with his own issues from his past.

Molly Richards finally feels she has found a home, she owns a coffee shop called Latte Dah in Magnolia Beach, Alabama. She moved here over two years ago and although keeps to herself, she has made some good friends such as Helena the bad girl who is married to the Mayor. She knows she has unfinished business in Fuller, a small town six hours away but believes someday she can put her past behind her.

Tate Harris is the local veterinarian who is best friends with Helena, he grew up in the area and knows that small town life is hard, he has had to deal with the knowledge that most people know his father was an alcoholic who took his anger out on his kids, and lately he has put dating on hold until he is not the object of town gossip. Molly and Tate have known each other since she moved to town, but their relationship was never more than friends, until she becomes involved in a Memorial Day event, The Children’s Fair and needs his help.

This is a classic small town romance where the residents are fun, quirky and they know everyone’s business. Central to the story is a huge celebration surrounding Memorial Day and everyone in town is involved, even Molly, much to her dismay.

I like Molly; she is building a new life in Magnolia Beach and does not talk much about her past, things are not as finalized as she would like and she is hoping to never speak of it, even Helena does not know all. When asked to work on a project for the celebration, she is nervous, she is just getting her confidence back and does not want to ruin it, the last thing she needs is to fail the town.

Tate is a nice guy, your ordinary beta hero who is the local veterinarian that everyone likes. He knows living in this town is a hazard on a private life, and tries to live without scandal; he had enough when he was young. He has known Molly for several years but never thought much about her until they have to work together and he really notices her. Although there is an initial attraction, Molly makes sure that they are only friends, explaining to him that now is not the right time and she would let him know if things changed. But as they start to spend more time together, the attraction blossoms and she is the one making the first move, but her past comes back to haunt her and their relationship struggles because of lies and miscommunication, Tate never wanted to be the reason for gossip again.

Small town romances usually have many characters that play huge roles in the story and this is no exception. I like both Helena, who was the town bad girl that captured the Mayor’s heart and Tate’s sister Sam who is working at the coffee shop and regaining her life after a nasty divorce along with several others throughout the story.

The pace works in the beginning as the two move forward with their romance and there is definite chemistry as they burn up the sheets on several occasions but it stalls a bit when Tate gets angry and feels betrayed by several secrets which he has a hard time getting past in a reasonable amount of time. This can easily be read as a standalone; I did not read the first in the series and had no trouble with the backstory and former characters. This is a sweet, small town romance full of heart and love.

I really have enjoyed the first couple of stories in the Magnolia Beach series, one being a novellas and one a full-length story, so I was excited to get our next full-length story in the series. Ms. Lang did not disappoint with the next installment in her Magnolia Beach series.

First of all I have to say I absolutely loved Molly Richards. Even without know her full history, the fact that she has moved to Magnolia Beach and basically started her life over shows what a strong character she is. I love that she has made a new home for herself and I adored her coffee shop, Latte Dah, and how she had become an important part of the community.

Tate Harris took a bit longer for me to warm up to. I liked him, but only started to really love him the more time he spent with Molly. I loved that he stepped up to help Molly, and liked the slow growth of their relationship. I liked that Tate and Molly truly became friends before they moved their relationship into more. I think since neither of them had really had a relationship in some time, if they had jumped into one too quickly, I wouldn't have bought their relationship as well. They had really amazing chemistry and the slow build to them being a couple made perfect sense to me.

I knew that Molly had come from a bad marriage and there were major issues with her family from the few times she mentioned them to Tate or Helena, but was still pretty thrown when her past showed up in Magnolia Beach. I loved that Helena and her other friends totally had her back, and really hated how Tate handled the situation. I'm not saying he wasn't justified in his reaction, but I expected more from him than what he showed Molly initially. I will say that I loved how Tate made amends to Molly and it helped me get over my anger towards his initial reaction.

Everything at Last was a wonderful addition to the Magnolia Beach series. I'm already looking forward to more stories in this series and have a few characters picked out whose stories I want next. Everything at Last is the perfect romance for fans of contemporary romances. While Everything at Last is part of a series, it can be read easily as a stand alone story.

I absolutely adored this romance. Kimberly Lang has created the perfect little beachside town and filled it with lovable characters. Molly Richards is relatively new in town; the three-year-resident is the owner of the Latte Dah coffee shop (don’t you just love the name?). She is friendly without sharing too much of herself. Even her best friend, Helena, doesn’t know much about her, and she senses that she shouldn’t ask about whatever Molly is hiding. Tate Harris is the local vet and a lifelong resident of Magnolia Beach. He is all too familiar with the downside of living in a small town. Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows your business. You can’t hide your tragic childhood.

I felt like I had been transported to Magnolia Beach. I loved the quaintness of this resort town and the closeness of the tight-knit town folk. I adored the rainy-day board games events at the Latte Dah. Ms. Lang’s writing has me longing to find my own Magnolia Beach.

Molly and Tate don’t fall in love at first sight. In fact, they’ve been acquainted for years, but they are both uninterested in getting involved in a romance with their fellow locals. The particulars of why are tragic for one and humorous for the other. This is a no-spoiler review, so I won’t share the details. When volunteering for the Memorial Day Children’s Faire throws them together, Helena gives them each a nudge toward one another. As you can guess, Helena’s instinct that they’re perfect for one another is spot on…until Molly’s mysterious past catches up with her. I was completely surprised by the big conflict by Tate’s ungracious response. The path to resolution was heartwarming and restorative.

Everything at Last by Kimberly Lang is the second book in her Magnolia Beach series. Each book in the series is a full-length standalone novel that features one couple. Everything at Last is a sweet, southern 4-star romance that had me engaged from page one to the end!

Everything at Last by Kimberly Lang is the 2nd book in her Magnolia Beach series. Our hero is Tate Harris, whom we met in the first book, Something to Prove. Tate is the town veterinarian, a far cry from the young wild boy who ran the town ragged with Helena as teenagers. Helena was our first book heroine, and remains best friends with Tate, as well as with Molly Richards, our heroine.

Molly runs the local coffee shop, and is happy that she found Magnolia Beach three years before. What people don’t know is that Molly ran away from an unhappy and abusive relationship, and is always on guard that her ex will find her.

Helena tries to push her best friends to get together, only to create some unintended bad feelings. Because Molly is forced to take over running the annual charity event, her and Tate begin working together. This is a slow build romance, with them both starting off as only friends. Tate is busy in his life, and always worrying about his sisters, he doesn’t have or want to be involved in a relationship. In this case, neither does Molly, who has a past that haunts her. But despite their determination to stay only as friends, best laid plans do not always work out.

I do not want to give spoilers, but this was a sweet romance between two people whose hearts are buried deep. It is Molly’s past that will come forth to possibly destroy this budding romance. Magnolia Beach is a small town, and secrets do tend to be not private anymore. But what are small towns for, other than helping one of their own, which is always fun. Helena and others will play a big part to fight to bring Tate and Molly together. But first Molly must reveal her past, get help to move forward and Tate must also open his heart.

Everything at Last was a very good story, though I did feel the first book was better, but that could be due to the wonderful Helena. Kimberly Lang does a good job in making us part of Magnolia Beach. I suggest you start with the first book, though this could be read very well as a standalone.

Molly Richards run a local little coffee shop called Latte Dah (so cute) that she found a little over a year ago in Magnolia Beach. She’s cheerful to all her customers and a very sweet woman, but what the towns people don’t know is that she escaped from an abusive relationship and still frightened that her ex will somehow find her. When her landlord has to leave town unexpectedly she calls Molly for a huge favor to take over the organizing for the Children’s fair. She agrees to help thinking that it would be an easy job, but she quickly realizes that this job is going to be anything, but easy.

Tate Harris the local vet is single and certainly available, but isn’t interested in dating any of the local ladies because he doesn’t like the aftermath of awkward run ins. One thing that this vet can’t turn away from is a damsel in destress and Molly certainly fits the bill.

When both of them are roped in to helping out with the Children fair and working side by side as they form a friendship, but the longer they work with each other their relationship starts to bloom into much more.

Is Molly ready to let a relationship take place after that past that she’s been through? Will Tate fight for Molly or will he let their relationship fade out?

Kimberly Lang is a new author to me, but I was falling in love with her little town and obviously Molly and Tate’s characters as well. The connection between the two main characters was undeniable and was a nice build up. What I really loved that the detailed setting for Latte Dah coffee shop because that got me thrown into a while new world with this story from start to finish. Absolutely wonderful. The pace, growth development and attraction as you read along with Molly and Tate was amazing. You couldn’t help but feel like you were right there with them. I loved both of these characters and will love to see more of what this author has in store.

Highly Recommend!

Everything at Last is the second book in Kimberly Lang’s series Magnolia Beach. I loved meeting Molly Richards. She has a lot of baggage in her past life and just wanted to move on, but when her landlord requests her to take on arranging a Children’s Fair, she’s immediately thrown into the spotlight.

Tate Harris is thrown into her world not only being her cat’s veterinarian but also assists her with organizing the Fair since he’d already done this before. He has the experience she needs to thrive in her role. Of course, as friends, these characters have their issues but as their relationship develops, we discover Molly’s past life and how her ex-husband treated her. Molly is a strong character that I fully enjoyed seeing grow.

I loved the interaction between Tate and Molly and I absolutely loved the setting of Latte Dah. I love reading small town romance and this is one of the best I’ve read. The characters are fully developed and as I read it, I felt a part of the town.

I haven’t had the chance to read the first book in the series, but was privileged to read the novella, One Last Thing, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Everything at Last is a standalone book but I can’t wait to read the first book in the series, Something to Prove. I thoroughly enjoy Ms. Lang’s writing style and look forward to reading the next book in her series.

I’d like to disclose that I received a copy of Everything at Last in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I was given a copy of Kimberly Lang's Everything at Last in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in Kimberly Lang's Magnolia Beach series but it can be read as a standalone.

I love the small town feel as the main characters Molly Richards and Tate Harris reluctantly get to know each other. The secondary characters truly make this story come to life for me.

Molly Richards left her horrible past behind and moved to Magnolia Beach where she purchased a little Coffee shop called Latte Dah. Although Molly loves her small Coffee shop and the town's people, she lives in fear that her past will catch up with her. One of Molly's friends Helena desperately wants to see Molly happily in love and believes that the local vet Tate Harris would be Molly's perfect match.

Molly doesn't like being the center of attention and kept mainly to herself until she somehow found herself being in charge of organizing the Magnolia Beach's Children's fair. Finding this task overwhelming Molly accepts Tate's help. I enjoyed watching Molly and Tate's romance slowly blossom from Friends to lovers. Molly's past does catch up with her though and Tate struggles with the lies and deceit.

I enjoyed reading this book even though it is slower paced to what I normally read and look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Come and stay awhile...

This is Book 2 of the Magnolia Beach series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. The setting captures the small town feel of the South. This story revolves around Molly Richards, coffee shop owner and Tate Harris, the town veterinarian – friends due to their common bond of friendship with Helena (who was the subject of Book 1).

Theirs is a reluctant romance as both are NOT interested in the other until suddenly they are. It was cute to see their romantic feelings develop as they were thrown together both intentionally and by circumstance.

However, Molly’s past returns with a vengeance and threatens to disrupt her newfound relationship. Tate is slow to forgive and this book will cause your heart to ache for these two lovebirds.

I enjoyed the banter of the main and secondary characters and the overall feel of the neighborly Southern small town.

This is an enjoyable read with romance, drama and an independent woman who is finding her way.

In her latest Magnolia Beach novel, Everything At Last, Kimberly Lang has written my favorite piece of dialogue in a very, very long time.

“I mean, what’s a White Knight to do when the damsel doesn’t require his assistance? he asked.
Her mouth twitched. “He reins his horse in and guards her back until she asks for help. The damsel, of course, promises to keep him informed and accept his support. People shouldn’t have to fight battles alone if they don’t have to.”

Lang nails the essence of every good relationship with these sentences. It takes some time for Molly and Tate to get there, but when they do it is amazing. If you love great stories and want to see this type of relationship in action, this is definitely the book for you. I highly recommend it. It has a place on my year’s best shelf.

The second in this smart sassy and all around terrific small-town Alabama series from Kimberly Lang features smoking hot vet Tate Harris and adorable coffee shop owner Molly Richards. These two are so wonderful you ache for them to get together, but theirs is a sweetly subtle dance of flirtation and attraction nearly torpedoed by Molly's secret and Tate's white knight complex. So when they eventually get to their happy ever after it will totally melt your heart.

I finished this book in a weekend... Could not put it down. I loved these two and the wit and emotional intelligence of Lang's writing. The snippet of the third book, Shelby Tanner's story (who was a particularly hilarious presence in Something to Prove) has me gagging for the next book.

I'm so glad that Tate and Molly were meant to be the next couple in this series because I couldn't see them with anyone else. Molly was keeping a big secret to herself and it ended up blowing up in her face and in front of everybody. Although Tate knew that she was holding back he probably didn't expect to hear her surprising news. Tate learned a lot from Molly's situation and his own sister's because they both needed and wanted to fix their own problems on their own and didn't want or need Tate's help. Take didn't recognize it at first but did in the end. A good little story with different situations not covered before and I like that very much.

This was a really enjoyable story full of interesting characters. Molly and Tate are both determined individuals and neither trusts easily. There is a growing attraction but a secret could destroy what they are building. Great writing pulls you in from the start and keeps you turning pages til the end. Loved it!

Good solid romance but not a good as the first in series. Lang waxes poetically in the first which while reading made me laugh and think she had an indulgent editor but now I miss it. I also miss how sexy the first book and 1.5 in the series was. These two characters did not seem to share that and the secret Molly was harboring seemed a bit anticlimactic.

Everything at Last is the second book in Kimberly Lang's Magnolia Beach series and it doesn't disappoint! I loved Molly and Tate's story! Since I have a friend who is going through a situation VERY similar to Molly's, I can relate even more to her frustrations, because I have heard them from her as well. Book #3 will be out soon and I'm looking forward to more tales from Magnolia Beach!

Tate and Molly

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was funny and serious. It was about a woman who relocated and opened a coffee shop. The local vet was friends with her best friend, who tried to fix them up. There is much more going on than this though.

A cute story. Liked the characters and that the story was told from both the female and male protagonists. Enjoyed the setting which reminded me in ways of Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls but seaside and with tourists.
