I liked almost all of this book. Lacey won an intern slot at a billionaire dollar tech company. She caught the eye and other parts of the brilliant playboy owner, Connor. They formed a good working relationship that was heightened by sexual tension. Eventually they gave into the tension and had mind blowing, furniture moving sex. At this point the book became uneven and Lacey turned into an overreacting shrew. She quit her internship and took a job in a diner!!!! What the heck??? Her rationale was silly. She just banged him and spewed some lame excuse and LEFT. Luckily, Connor had more sense. He let her go for about a month and then he contacted her and fairly easily persuaded her to give him a chance. To give THEM a chance. The rest of the book we see the original Lacey...the one with good sense. The two of them start a real relationship. Good thing....she is already pregnant. The story kind of skips over the birth and delivery but they have three beautiful babies. Both of their families are happy and on board and they end up engaged at the end of the story.
First, the name Connor for an Asian man is new. Second, his family's acceptance of an African American woman was surprising. Third, and final is the fact that after skirting around their attraction for each other for so long, giving in and engaging in a sexual encounter scared Lacey and committed Connor to their relationship. Finding out that one encounter resulted in pregnancy solidified their belief they belonged together and having that pregnancy produce three children was a game changer for the hunky billionaire and the beautiful intern turned wife and mother. I like the storyline, the characters and the love story's all over dynamics. I would love to have the respective families developed more but truth is the story was about the love between Connor and Lacey so it fits very well.
This book had a great storyline and I loved the characters. But it seem to just drop like that's enough lets get to the end. The intimate scenes were just a little to much. The chemistry between Lacy and Conner was off the charts but just needed a little more about the pregnancy and birth of babies. Need a little more about both families and more interactions between the families and babies. And why did April do what she did ? But overall it was a good stroy.
I liked the fact that this wasn't a stereotypical BWAM romance novel. Conor found something that he never thought he would find, with someone he felt from the beginning that she would come to mean everything to him and not just professionally but personally as well. I'm glad that Lacey didn't let her fear of their relationship to get in the way of their happiness. I would reread this story again.
You're mine, you're what I have been missing. (WOW)
Story of Connor and Lacey. Connor a self made tech billionaire had never met a woman that could hold his attention. Lacey his new intern was so bubbly, intelligent, driven, and beautiful maybe she is what he's been missing. The sex scenes were scorching hot. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏👏
