I thought this book was very interesting, I did learn a lot throughout this book, during my class. I had to read this book for my " Classroom Management for Teachers" class. You'll learn a lot from this book.
As a preservice teacher, this book was helpful in thinking of different ways of approaching classroom management and discipline. Sections were short and use of headings and visual hierarchy made it easy to skim when needed. This book did an excellent job of giving teachers a variety of approaches to consider. Burden also discusses things to consider to prepare the classroom for the start of school, things to consider and supplies to buy, how to establish routines and procedures, ways to make the classroom safe and inclusive as well as where diversity comes from and how to teach in ways to not promote biases. Overall an excellent and thorough resource.
