The Killer and The Assassin #1

Releasing The Silent Killer: Davide and India's Story

Rate this book
I am Davide Russo, Don of the Russo crime family. Some say I’m cocky, arrogant, and quick-tempered, and I own all that shit. Many don’t like me, but I could care less. In my business, you’re not in it to make friends, just money. You might be lucky to call some friends, maybe even associates.
When a business deal goes wrong, I’m left with no choice but to take matters into my own hands. What was supposed to be a simple kidnapping of a rival’s daughter has turned into something much more. I don’t know if I will be able to let her go when the dust settles. She brings out emotions in me I never knew existed.
It took a lot for India to see the good in me, and I’ll be damned if I let anything or anyone come in between us. People on the streets know me as The Silent Killer, and if her father thinks he’ll be able to take her away from me, there won’t be anything silent about what I’m going to do to him.

It can't end like this. This book just gave me life and done ended it in one breathe. I need more. I love Davide. Him and Axl neck and neck for me, but I got a feeling Vasily gonna be the front runner. They better hurry up and find Dominique before Don Russo Sr. comes out of retirement. 💙💙

Soooooo Good!

Y'all better get this book quick, fast and in a hurry! It is so awesome. Sonja B. did her thing with this one. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but baybeeee, get it soon. This read has great character interaction, a great plot that flows and pulls you in so deep that you forget about everything else to get to the next chapter. So, I'm off to read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything. Again, pick it up NOW!

Exciting and to the point

This book was to the point, nothing was long and drawn out. I did enjoy it and of course....i hate cliffhangers unless the other book is one click away.
However, at this point I'm ready to read about Dominique (ghost) and Vasily. This story hints at being an interesting one.
This book was also recommended to me by Unique Words, LLC. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did

Davide's 👼 Angel

Just when Davide and India were getting things together her father has to make his self known again.
I'm glad India stood up to her dad but Okoye has taken the wrong woman now or should I say the right way because once Dominique wakes up there's going to be trouble.
I just hope Maxillo and Dominique comes out of this intact because I believe she truly loves Maxillo and Vasily was just a man in her past she had to be with so she could find her future with Maxillo.

Oh Sh*t!!! Cliffhanger

Davide is handsome, rude, arrogant, and confident. He studies people and situations which makes him a formidable opponent. India is beautiful, feisty, sassy, and graceful. She turns heads wherever she goes. She certainly turned Davide's head when he saw her and as fate would have it, he gets this prized posession, much to her father's chagrin. King Okoye of Nigeria, India's father isn't an honest man. His attempt to trick Davide works only for a limited time. When all is said and done, Don Russo, Davide's father, is threatening to come out of retirement to wipe the Okoye family off the earth, because his baby has been kidnapped. Davide's sister Dominique is dating a man, but another is claiming her. Who will rescue her, or better yet, will she rescue herself? Her kidnappers have no idea they took one of the most deadliest assassins in the world.

Davide & India's Story

This story has left me with a lot of opinions, good and bad.

First thing first, this story was not really my taste.
This was the first time I've read any of Sonja B. Books, and I got this book off a recommendation.

Actually I was recommended a different book, which comes after this one, name "The Assassin and the Russian." Which has to do with Davide little Sister who he calls; Brat, aka Dominque. I started reading that book, but I was confuse since you are jumping right into a scene, where something big just happen. So I decided to back up a bit and read the book before that one, and here we are today.

Davide and India has a good story Plot, I really enjoy the back ground history we get about Davide. The change from him being a little boy growing into the future Don, to actually becoming the Power Don he was suppose to be. You really get a taste of how he look up to his father, and feeling about changing a lot of their traditions and rules. I also enjoy his friendship with his right hand man Piero. He really did choose a crazy and loyal friend.

I can't really say I enjoyed India's character. She left me with a sour taste in my mouth and I fund myself not really wanting to be bother reading about her. At first when India is introduce I was interested in her character. I like that she understood when she was at an disadvantage, and needed to keep it cool, until she can escape. And I really enjoy when she stood up for herself and slap the taste out of a disrespectful person.

But other than that her character just started going down hill for me. First it was the respect part. She expected respect from others, and not to be looked down upon or treated anyway. BUT could not do the same to her trashy, disrespectful father. The fact that her father was basically selling her to the highest bidder, and already put hands on her is outrageous. Yet, you did not really get a lot of that anger or resentment towards him from her. I kind of was expecting a bit more, but that did not happen.

For example when it was mention that they wanted to kill her father, her response, with some concern was "
Are you really going to kill my daddy?"

To which my response was
"You CANNOT be seriously worrying about someone that gave ZERO F***s about you?!? Other then as a thing he owns and can sell to the highest bidder. Are you SERIOUS right now??"

I think she is the 3rd FL that I've read in a book, that I've actually said this about.
How? HOW are you worried about someone that doesn't give a damn about you?? HOW???

My second biggest peeve is how she just falls right into Davide arms and want to be with him all of a sudden. There NO friction in there love story. There's only a hint of it in the very beginning, but after that nothing.

I wish Sonja B. would've added a bit more fiction to them, before they get to happy ever after. I mean come on he kidnaped you, and threaten to end your life?? Hello? At least fight back a bit more before you fall for the guy!

Then we're not even going to speak on Davide parents situation. Because how are you going to.... Nope, never mind. You can read about it, because that is another story.

But fair warning, from reading this book, there was a lot of events that happen, which was briefly mention. It was enough that made me want to read the previous books before this one, so I can find out what happen there. It look to be very, very, VERY interesting. So fair warning you might find yourself confuse, but also curious as to what has happened. If your like me, your going to find yourself looking for the other books to take a look.

Overall the story plot between the two is a really good one to read. I just don't care that much for how it was delivered.

There were a lot of mistakes I found in the book, and I kept finding myself rereading it so that it made sense. My biggest suggestion is for Sonja B. is to maybe re-edit the book and fix the mistakes that is in it.

I would Recommend this book to anyone that is interested in a quick, and easy love. I would also recommend this book to those that do not really like conflict between couples. A love story that the ML & FL gets together and have a HEA. This book will be just up your alley.

I hope everyone have a good read, and take a look at some of her other works. I, plan on jumping right into the next book, The Assassin and the Russian.

Just no

The only reason I gave the book 2 stars is because of the action which was good. However the level of disrespect was just too much for me. The whole 2 families was bad but I just couldn’t get over how confortable Davide was over his dad humiliating his mother. It’s all great to say that she could have left but as she pointed out, where would she go with no money and more importantly she couldn’t leave him behind as a child. His father was and still is in a position of power. Building a relationship with his sister fine but out of respect for his mother he should have never behaved as if being with his father’s second family was normal. If his father didn’t have the decency to live with his choices then it’s on him. Nothing against Dominique but there’s no way I would have been cool with her being in my house without being consulted first. Same thing with my son. My dear husband would have had to assume his choices and take me to court for shared custody. By saying I’m neutral Davide is actually making a choice. Then the whole romance felt forced to me. The bashing of arranged marriages was irritating. I didn’t find India sassy I found her rude. Why on earth was she at the warehouse? Apart from being a distraction what purpose did she serve? It’s all great to say you’re a great Don but actions. Knowing that India’s dad escaped it was ridiculous to prance around (same for his mother) without tons of security. He should have been alerted as soon as Okoye stepped foot in Sicily. I also didn’t enjoy the sentences construction. The change in narration style in the middle of a paragraph was distracting.

Recommended Read

So this book was recommended to me by UniqueWords,LLC and because I’ve actually never had the pleasure of reading any of this artists work I was very excited to dive in. I won’t be revealing any spoilers in this review but what I will tell you is that for me, the book read more like a soap opera or screen play for a soap opera than an actual book. There were times when I felt like there was too much detail or rather the detailing was maybe not in the right place, and then there were times when there wasn’t enough detail. The author definitely did her due diligence on giving us a back story and insight into David’s character at the begging of the book, but when it came to the romance part eh.... they went from zero to a hundred in a matter of hours. Which normally I don’t mind but I just had a hard time feeling the chemistry between the two characters. Anyway the story was well planned and thought out so that attributed to a star for me, the spelling/editing errors were minimal and characters were well developed, so that earned it two more stars. Where it fell short for me was the flow of the story (ie all the detail at the beginning could have been written within the story at different places), and the chemistry between the two main characters seemed forced to me or fake almost. I would probably read this authors work again simply because her characters are developed and interesting.

I gave it a 5! Sonja B you did it again! I can't wait for the next installment of this book.

Davide and Dominique relationship moved quite quickly. Davide was drawn to her the first time he seen her with her Father Okoye. Davide and Dominique made a well couple. They both were alphas and had a take charge personality, neither tolerates disrespect. Davide was determined to have a relationship with someone that he really cares about and not a relationship that was arranged like his parents. This book was full of action and hot love making. Hopefully Okoye Dominique's Father gets what he deserves in the next book. Davide finds his sister as fast as he can. If Don Russo comes out of retirement alllll baby! He will take the whole Okoye Family off the map! Oh boy He will not play behind his little one ( Daughter). I feel for Okoye or his son whoever took Dominique because they just kidnapped the world's dangerous assassin and will Dominique wakes oh so will Ghost come out to play. I can't wait for what happens next. It's a must read. Whoever reads this fire story will not want to stop reading it that for sure.

Yet again !!!!!!!

Well the plot thickens !!! Davide and India story wasn't what I expected but in a very good way. I can't wait to see what's in store for the next book.Max to me really doesn't seem ruthless e tough for ghost this is twice so.signing has happened ad he not be able to handle it and as ruthless as ghost is to be overpowered is far fetched .This book had good intentions but it just fell short to me like it was rushed to be put out As,I have pointed out editing is very important and unfortunately it wasn't as good in this book which makes me think the story was rushed .I know the potential of this author and her work this book just came short.Even with all that said I appreciate where this book was talking us,I can't wait to see if the following books but the mark better because I really have liked the series so far. This book was recommended by Unique Words and, even tho this could have been better to connect all the pieces you need to read all the books and I would recommend that you do so

***⚠️⚠️Warning⚠️⚠️This Ends On A Cliffhanger ***

I'm glad that we got the back history to how Davide and India came to be and that Rikisi trained Dominique, Davide, and Axl at different points in their lives. I don't like how shady Okoye is and how he's trying to play the victim with India being kidnapped when she doesn't want to be with him anyway to try to pawn her off like a business deal. I can't wait to read about the love triangle between Dominique, Maxillo Axl's bodyguard and brother, and Vasily/Death from the Russian mob. It's funny that she's caught up in a love triangle like her parents Papa Alessandro, Momma Calista, and Momma Aurora. Papa Alessandro ain't playing any games about Okoye kidnapping Dominique but I hope that he doesn't try to hurt India because that will cause a wedge between him and his son. I can't wait to see what happens next with Death, The Snatcher of Souls, and The Silent Killer teaming up to rescue Dominique The Ghost.

Like drugs to a crackhead, this book will have you addicted!!! I need part 2... asap!

Let me just start this review by saying Sonja B has cranking out some bangers! After reading all of her other works I knew without a doubt that I would love this too. The story of Davide and India put you in the mindset of Romeo and juliet...the mafia edition. I loved that from Davide let you know who was and what he was about, no apologies to be made... especially if you step to him wrong. And India, is a woman that no nonsense about her culture or her man. Together they are not to played with... or you will pay with your life. My only complaint and it is minor... there were a few easily missed grammatical errors. But it doesn't take away from the quality of the book. Thank you Uniquewords, llc for the recommendation.

Davide and India where brought together under duress circumstances..He was the DON of the RUSSO FAMILY and fearlessly named the SILENT KILLER...She was a NIGERIAN PRINCESS caught in her father's lies. Davide was ALL about Family and his money, until India was in his grasp and they fell in love. They chose to go after their enemies and set to live HEA...COURSE there are situations before they met..that need to be handled as a DON,along with a sister named Dominique who has a special gift and roll to play. This book gives the Alpha,Sexy,Hot Italian Mafia drama and more‼ You would definitely need to read the Romano Family 1st to get where it's all leading too. Unfinished business must be handled between some old and new key players❤🔥🔥🔥🔥 A MUST READ

A fast page-turner, violence included, mysterious, romance. If you like stories from the Old Country "arranged marriages" this is the novel for you. Davide Russo is being groomed to become heir Don. Ruthless, well trained, has weaponry and armed soldiers at his readiness. Jet Set flies to his other homes in Miami, New Orleans, and Italy on a whim to conduct business. Hence he becomes the Silent Killer. Well if you live by the sword there is doomed to be trouble. Having women at his disposal is given until he meets India. The self-made, independent daughter of a Nigerian arms dealer. Could not put this down and awaiting answers from the cliffhanger. This book was recommended by Unique Works, LLC.

Highly improbable

Ok, so this story had so much potential, but the author did not follow through.

SPOILER ALERT

Besides several editing mistakes, this story was quite unbelievable. Davide kidnapped India as collateral after an arms deal with her father goes wrong. She puts up a little fight, then like Stockholm Syndrome on steroids, she starts having feelings for him in about a day's time, and they engage in risky sex despite knowing very little each other. India seems unconcerned that Davide plans to harm or kill her father for double crossing him. There are a lot more incredible stuff going here, but I won't tell all. And here's the kicker, the story ends on a cliffhanger!

Another stellar blockbuster hit once again, I’m so loving these mafia series... but that ending got me feeling some type away though and I hope Dominique get her own story bc I’m curious who’s she going to choose???? But this is Davide and India story it sucks that her father was using her to pawn her off on men’s or suitors for business deals and then pull out , not good and he can make enemies as well his day is coming.. Davide background shed some light and how he was raise. Props to his dad for treating his daughter equally to his son bc some fathers wouldn’t acknowledge kids outside their marriage.. I’m trying not to give to much away and I can’t wait for book 2 bc I know Davide and Alessandro about to burn some stuff down!!!

Read this on a weekend because you are not going to want to put it down.

I've been waiting for Davide's story. I fell madly in love with him in Axl and Monica's trip to Cefalu. I surely never thought i would live Italian monsters but the love and loyalty they echibitcwith their significant others and their family is the real deal. This story was action, action and adventure from beginning to end with rich character development that had you loving everyone. The backstory flowed beautifully into the present and left you on the life's edge wanting more. The Salvant's story had me rooting for Ghost and Maxillo, but Davide's has me wanting more of Vasilly andcthe flower.

Well the mess just jumped from the pan straight to the fire!

Boy, what else will happen. Okoye wants his princess daughter back so he gets revenge by kidnapping the Russo family princess. They just don't know, they have death on their hands in more ways than one. Dominique, I'm sure will give them hell. Now we have the Russian Bratva in the mix. Poor Maxillo, what will become of him?

Sonja B. has written a story full of drama and with some twist, I didn't see coming. Davide is so smitten with India, that he dares anyone to come between he and her. The arrogant Don has had his heart and soul snatched by the beautiful Nigerian Princess. With the ending of this story, I'm wondering if Momma Calista and Mother Aurora will finally have a showdown in the next installment.

Another really good book 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

This book was recommended to me by Unique words LLC. This is the story of Davide Russo a young boy born into a Mafia Family he's the future Don. We followed Davide until he becomes the Don of his family. This is a well written book that flows nicely and it's definitely a page-turner. There were some grammatical errors that's why I gave it four stars. The romance between Davide and India is what I was waiting for to see him fall in love. It was a pleasure reading this book great job Sonja B.

Yeah This Was Good

This is wonderful addition to the Salvant Brothers series. The writer not gives a good background on the families and main characters but all the supporting cast. This was not only great action, but funny and crazy sexy at times. The story end on a nail biting cliffhanger, but you are going to want this because we just got introduced to Ghosts man! From the looks of it he's not only crazy sexy but the head of the Bravta! Please don't take to long for the next episode.

Ghost!!!!!

All I want to say is.....they better bring Ghost back. We didn't get to see much of The Silent Killer. With that being said, Davide better rearrange some zipcodes about his family. Period. Davide's story seemed to center more on his relationship with India....... his being caught in the middle of his parents marriage and his father's lover. Not much action in this book. Had it been like The Salvant Bros., I would've given this book 5 stars. I'm finished with The Blu Ink Crew so, SB, I'm going to need you to bring it with Dominique's story.

Guess this is just the beginning of the Silent Killer huh?

Will admit I was expecting more of Davide, more of that savage side that was eluded to in the Salvant Brothers books. We got a little but I guess I will have to wait for that heat I know will be coming now when the next book drops. Wonder if we gonna see if India has other skills too. Know she has them hands already, just ask ole girl Francesca...

Wow

Please let their be a part 2, please let their be a part 2. Davide and India’s story was amazing. Now I need to know if Dom gets her story also. I did not like Davide when he was first brought up in book 4 of The Salvant Brothers / The showdown. Now that I have read his story he is now my favorite. I love that India was so real throughout the whole story. She spoke her mind no matter what.

Well we have a cliffhanger with this one. I liked the action that was in this book, also the tie in with Axl and his crew was cool too, but I really didn't care for Davide and India's story. Their love felt sort of forced to me and I cannot warm up to Davide. He's disrespectful to his mother, he is rude and smarmy. Just not the kind of hero I'm into, sorry. Can't say I'm really excited for part 2 but I'll read it, if only for the action and curious to see what happens with his sister and Vasily.

Slow and great!

This book was recommended by Unique Words. I fell in love with Davide, India and his little sister Dominique. It took awhile before the H/h met but was explosive when they did. Davide is cocky as hell and I was there for it. India was sweet and not a hard woman. I loved it. Great book and fiery once they meet. Especially with Davide feeling like a virgin in the shower lol! Loved it!

Sigh... I loooooooove this book. Love luv LOVE this book! Davide, India and the supporting cast are so dang good together.

There is mystery, heat, controlled discord, nasty on a scale I live for and nail biting intrigue. The pacing and tempo moved along effortlessly and my day was well spent to the very last page.

There is a cliffhanger but it is one of the best ones I’ve had the pleasure of being left with 😊. Treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed 🙂.

Davide and India

Little did the Don know that a deal gone wrong with an African king would be the beginning of many changes and the love of a lifetime to his life by the name of India. These two were made for each other. I really hope true will be more to Davide and India's story.
