Sometimes it takes a pandemic to take a second chance at love. Caitlin ends up at her ex-girlfriend Dot's apartment door when her flight to Mexico is cancelled and she has few couch surfing options.
This is a short and sweet romance and my first pandemic romance read. Nicely done.
A short second chance romance, of two women brought together again by the pandemic, and it bringing to the forefront what is truly important.
Caitlin had walked away from Dot and their 3 year relationship when she got a job offer in New York. She lost sight of her lover and life in general and what was really important and meaningful.
When flights were grounded and she realised she had burned all bridges and had nowhere to stay, she begged for a couch to stay on from her ex, Dot.
The hurt from Dot was very real and palpable, and even Caitlin became sympathetic in the end.
For a short story it packed a lot of punch in the emotions of them remembering and rekindling the good times, while also feeling the hurt and guilt of their seperation and misteps in their relationship.

A good short story which was free - thank you for that! Enjoyable, read in one sitting. Not quite my experience of lockdown, but very much each to their own. Well written with enough story line to create a novel. Clare never let's you down.
This was a short quick read that I liked. What do you do when a pandemic hits and you have nowhere to go? Dot and Caitlin where a couple until Caitlin decides to take a job in NYC and leaves when the pandemic hits her flight is canceled and she shows up at Dot's door. This was a good read like so many of us living through the pandemic we are stuck in the house for months. Dot is hurt and not sure if she can trust Caitlin again. I really liked both of these characters Dot more because of how she took Caitlin back when she could have refused. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
A short second chance romance during quarantine. It wasn’t bad, it just didn't work for me, I wasn't involved with the characters or their story; maybe it was too short for me, idk.
Clare invited me to a free read for this, so I'll take it as an arc and write a review here. As Novellas go it is a shortish read, less enjoyment than one of her full novels, but the writing is just as good as her full novels. Evidently the Lockdown had inspired her, other than it did for me, I just hated it.
It is a very straight forward second chance story, not twenty years later as some, but only a couple of months after a sad, not well handled breakup. Both ladies characters are well worked out and thoroughly believable, the setting (lockdown) seeminly only a minior inconvenience ... until it lasts and lasts ... giving our two ladies more and more time to question their actions and reactions and if the feelings ever were or possibly still are there and true?
A smoothe read with enough quirky lines to keep the corners of your mouth twitching to grin.
Clare never fails to tell a great tale with perfect timing and good writing. This one is no exception! The pandemic has us all rethinking things it seems and this story capsulizes the importance of new perspectives and re-evaluating what we think we know. In lockdown we have a chance to identify what's really important......and who is really important. Great read, I highly recommend.
This is a very sweet story wherein a couple who should never have broken up get back together. Their reconciliation comes about through a chain of events precipitated by the Covid-19 pandemic. One presumes they will ultimately achieve their HEA.
A short story about a couple and their second chance at love. Caitlin left Dot for a job and now comes crawling back to Dot, asking if she can sleep on her couch? Oh boy...talk about a pandemic nightmare. Then again, as Caitlin realizes she made a mistake will Dot come to the same realization? Glad to say this book has little drama and little angst. Very cute and fast read.
As always, Clare Lydon wrote a beautiful story even if it’s a short one. I really look forward reading her novels. I gave it 4.5 stars because I wanted more of Caitlin and Dot 😅 Thank you Clare Lydon for making this pandemic bearable.
A beautifully written snapshot of love, wrong choices, and second chances. Try me Again is easy to read with the flow and intrigue, while Clare Lyndon uses her humour, stunning scene setting, and insights of human nature to make you fall in love along with the characters.
This was a great read about getting a second chance at love. Gives me hope that people are seeing positive outcomes when faced with life altering changes such as pandemic lockdowns. This book belongs on your must read list!
