This is book three of the Dominique St. Clair Mystery series and sees St Clair having to travel to Denver, to profile a suspect for a series of bombings in Boulder. She ends up going undercover with two other FBI agents to watch a collective home for some suspected anarchist, who may be linked to the bombings. She and two male agents are setup in an Airbnb rental opposite the house and its residents that they need to watch. She is pretending to be the girlfriend of one of the men, who are supposed to be working on a tech setup and use their laptops to watch footage of the house. For me, this story was quite slow to get going and started with a lot of details of the lead anarchist and his unhappiness with life in the town, its university and the large property companies buying up large amounts of derelict housing and pushing out the poorer residents. St Clair has a huge problem with the altitude and finds it difficult to even walk about very far, not what you would expect from a supposedly very fit FBI agent.
She quickly gets pulled into the investigation, finding propaganda on telephone posts and even ones for a missing student, who is actually the daughter of a very wealthy family. The father of this missing young woman owns a lot of the media in town and has a lot of influence with the police and the reaction was very quick with her only being missing for a day! St Clair, calling herself Natalie in her undercover role, is soon brought into the collective by its leader, one of two brothers. She tries to find out information to pass onto her fellow agents, through the coffee shop most of the collective work in, but isn’t always successful. They set up an initiation for her, to see if they can trust her and she could have placed herself in mortal danger.
The group have two separate objectives, one that most of them are following by putting up graffiti and handing out leaflets, and then an altogether more dangerous plot that only the two brothers and their one trusted friend know about, to carry out a series of bombings. St Clair may be inside the house, but she is rarely left alone and there is a basement and an attic to explore and look for clues to what the group are up to. The latter part of the book gets much more involved and interesting, once she ends up in the library and matters start to go awry. This unfortunately was not my favourite book by this author, but that was bound to happen. The latter part of the storyline made up for the beginning, but I almost didn’t want to read anymore at the start. I’m glad I did! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above. One annoying issue was that the title did not matching the one which was finally used, leaving me having to search through the authors books to find one that matched.

College and Domestic Terrorism
Beautiful Colorado. Agent Dominique St. Claire is part of team sent to CO to investigate bombings. Her and 2 other male agents pretend to be in CO looking for start up capital for a new mobile app. While working that case they are drawn into another local case of a missing heiress. Are the cases related? Either way the local law enforcement agency is happy for the help.
This is the 3rd in the series, I found myself skimming instead of reading. Not as impressed with this one as I was with the first two. Lots of moving parts and not much time spent “fleshing” out the characters.

BELIEVABLE GOOD READ...
I loved reading this book. I especially loved that it wasn't "overly" dramatic, in comparison to movies of this genre are. I've known a narcissistic paranoid man such as Jack. For that reason, I knew how precarious the lives of those he controlled were. I definitely can sympathize with his captives. They were all captives, whether they were locked in a room, or not. They all could have benefited from " INTENSE" psychotherapy. In the end, justice is never dealt out as we would have hoped.

The rules are not the same for everyone. The right kind of connections or money might keep some folks available for trouble and others hopelessly mired in it

The Girl in the Barn by Skylar Finn is an amazing story that I have read. This is book number three in this amazing series that I have been hooked on since the beginning. I can not wait to see what this author will write next and I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about mysteries, thrillers and suspense.

This was one of those books that I couldn't put down. From start to finish, it kept my attention. The ending was everything I hoped it would be! I won't say anything more about the plot so there won't be any spoilers.
I'm hoping there will be more novels in this series. My only sadness is that I just finished the last book. Dominique St. Clair is a great character in this series...so on to book #4!

Agent Dominique St. Clair is in Denver to work a bombing case when she uncovers so much more. If you have ever read a book by this author then you know you are in for quite a mystery and this book had me reading nonstop. This well written book is filled with mystery, intrigue, suspense, unexpected twists and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Nice thriller
I loved it. Could not put it down, read the book in two sittings. Unexpected twists and the ending was good. This is the second book in the series that I have read. Looking forward to the next one.

This is another great book by Skylar Finn. The story grabs your interest from the start and keeps you pulled in until the end. The character work is good as well. I would recommend reading.

Keeping the wolf from the door!
Dominique St. Clairs’ job is to keep the keep the wolf from people’s door. She does this in large and small towns, with the utmost confidence. There’s only one thing that frightens her and it’s certainly not bringing down the bad guys!

I have read about 6 of Skylar Finn books and they have all been 5*. FBI St. Clair did a real brave thing to save people.

Good story

Intricate and interesting plot
The story line is well developed and provides many twists and turns as well as glimpses into very complex characters. I highly recommend this book!

One of kind mystery
I absolutely loved the explanation of the airplane at the end. I had never knew and while I understand it's a story, for some reason it made sense.

I liked the story. it started slow. Also way too much descriptive text. But the characters were good and very believable. Would read more about agent St. Clair!

in the beginning, it was slow and took me a while to get into it. But once it hit its stride it got really good. I am enjoying the journey.
