Once they have you, you don’t come back…

They say it took one hundred magical beings to defeat the first Arcanist. Great care was taken to ensure the secret to his malevolent power died with him. Now the brutal reign of the Arcanist has become little more than a scary bedtime story. And yet, the descendants of his loyal followers are sworn to find a way to bestow his dark magic upon another. If they succeed, they’ll unleash a new terror upon an unsuspecting world.

Every six months a seemingly random group of magical beings go missing from the same location and are never seen again. If an investigation doesn’t begin now, it could be another six months before there is another chance. Consumed by the hunt for a cult of dark witches and their impossibly powerful leader, Jen and her friends are hesitant to take on yet another mystery, but if they don’t, who will?

Magic Conquered is Book Four in the Urban Fantasy series, Rise of the Arcanist, featuring vampires, elementals, witches, and more. It is a New Adult spin-off of USA Today Bestselling author Elizabeth Kirke’s award-winning More than Magic series. If you like your paranormal with a dash of mystery and suspense, make Magic Conquered yours today!

Elizabeth Kirke wanted to be an author before she even knew what an author was. She used to say that she wanted to be an artist, but that was only because she was too young to write and had to tell stories with pictures instead. She hasn't stopped writing since she learned how. It wasn't long before she dreamed of becoming an author and couldn't be happier now that that dream is a reality.

If she isn't writing...well, let's be honest; if she isn't writing she's probably on Facebook thinking that she should start writing. But, if she isn't writing or on Facebook, she's probably doing something involving books, baking, gardening, or yarn. In an ideal world, she'd be reading and knitting while something from the garden is in the oven. Then again, in an ideal world, she'd have a flock of ducks and a couple of goats.

Like most slightly-nosy, avid readers, Elizabeth can't resist trying to catch a peek at books she sees people reading when out in public to see if she can figure out what it is. While doing just that one day, she realized that it would probably be the coolest-thing-ever if she caught a complete stranger reading one of her books. That's her new dream.

This installment of Rise of the Arcanist had me on edge from start to finish. I had hand cramps from the death grip I had on my kindle. The fight scenes in the arena are so intense. I swear the author gave me a few more gray hairs. There are only two more books left and honestly, I am a nervous wreck how it is going to end.

This is the fourth installment in the Rise of the Arcanist series of new adult urban fantasy by Elizabeth Kirke. It’s best to read the entire series in order.

This episode really keeps up the suspense. Danio and Thomas have gotten themselves in quite the jam. Will they survive long enough to escape or be rescued? You’ll have to keep reading to find out.

I love the portrayal of diverse paranormal creatures and the unique mythology developed in this series. But even more so, I love the main characters, who are all smart, resourceful, and quirky. Their banter is often laugh-out-loud funny, and the love and camaraderie between these friends is touching.

I was given a free copy of this ebook by the author; I volunteered to provide an honest review.

OMG, that ending was unexpected!!

The characters are still amazing. I loved reading and following Thomas and Danio. Danio is still my favorite character and I always get excited to read more about that particular character.

The storyline was phenomenal and so edge of my seat scary. So many new unimaginable twists and turns left me screaming in my head that things would turn out better than what was currently happening. And that ending, yeah I didn't see that coming!! I need to read the next book!! Highly recommended this read!!

Evil is on the rise!

Tom and Danio are in a nasty place with no way out. The rest of the group are frantic. This is a heart pounding episode with lots of danger, battles to the death and bad people spilling out all over. I need a nap after this one!

Ramping it up

The tension keeps getting thicker in the on going investigations of the weirdness at MES. What I did love the most was not just learning but feeling the bond between Danio and Thomas.

2 more books to go, and I feel like I'm trying to hold these characters tighter.

Dani and Tom find themselves in the middle of it all. I am loving (and hating) where this series is going. I need to know how it ends!

This book focuses on Tom and Dani. You see a little bit from the others, but 95% is them. I also feel like the next 3 books could have been 1 book, not 3 novellas.

So many feels.

Wow another rollercoaster of an emotional ride from beginning to end. Dan and Thomas while chasing up the missing vampire lead end up being trapped in a castle with no idea where they are or how to leave. The pair have more than one brush with death. Plus there a huge twist at the end I didn't see coming. Can't wait for the next book in this series
