It's paranormal women's fiction for lovers of magic, mayhem, and a solid afternoon nap (when they can squeeze one in.)

Katherine wasn't looking for anything extraordinary in her life. She had a job she loved, a husband she adored, and a home in the beautiful seaside town of Moonstone Cove.

Okay yes, she worked too much and had fallen out of touch with all her friends, but that happened to everyone, right? And sure, she was feeling a little creaky in the mornings and couldn't drink coffee after noon, but that was just life in middle age.

Four minutes was all it took for fate to run away with anything that resembled normal.

Now Katherine is trying to place mysterious psychic visions into her previously ordered life. She's playing referee between a displaced Southern mama and a sarcastic mechanic with a chip on her shoulder. And her quiet life has been upended by a mysterious rash of violent acts by students at her school.

Thankfully, her new friends have powers of their own, and together they just might discover who or what has it in for the quiet citizens of Moonstone Cove.

Runaway Fate by Elizabeth Hunter
Book 1 of the Moonstone Cove series, a spin-off fro the Glimmer Lake series. Paranormal women’s fiction. While the characters from Glimmer Lake make an appearance, those books do not need to be read first unless minor spoilers are an issue.

While Katherine is at her gym working out, she experiences a vision of a student pulling out a gun and shooting people. Suddenly he’s there and reaching into his jacket. Katherine and two other women in the gym prevent the shooting and subdue him. But it’s not over. Katherine and her two new friends investigate another “worst nightmare” situation and find more than one connection and more than one student who doesn’t remember how they things went so wrong.

A strong and smart heroine with a successful career and a supporting spouse. She’s not sure why she’s getting visions suddenly but she doesn’t hesitate to act. I loved the building friendships of the three women after meeting at the gym and each manifesting some psychic ability. Just like in the Glimmer Lake series. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Immediately engaging, quick moving and fascinating.

Another PWF home run! For those that absolutely loved the Glimmer Lake series, get ready to dive into the perfect book for you. Where there are similarities between the two series, there are so many surprises waiting for you in Moonstone Cove that will keep you burning through the pages well past bedtime.

Nerds, pay attention. Seriously, this book will give all of the science nerds something special! Kathryn and her husband Baxter’s relationship is it’s own unique character in the story. Certainly something that should be swooned over, but in a very realistic way. There is nothing unattainable about what they have and the authenticity of it, the hard work and communication, it made my heart so very happy.

Right from the start we are thrown into the action and the mystery begins. Kathryn, Toni and Megan are all very intriguing women, but they have never met until they are all thrown into the middle of a situation that has more questions than answers. It was so nice to have a small tie in to the Glimmer Lake women and to get to see them for a moment or two on the pages doing what they do best, lift up and support other women, and help kick a$$ when it comes to paranormal mysteries!

You won’t want to miss this book and what these 3 strangers can teach all of us about life, new friendships and kicking butt after 40!

A professor, a housewife, and a mechanic walk into a gym…

Sounds like the beginning of a joke but is in fact the beginning of a fantastic, one of a kind book. I loved the angle that was worked here. It is unique and Ms. Hunter brought a lot to the table.

Katherine our professor, Megan the housewife and Toni the mechanic meet in a gym have one of the weirdest experiences in their lives and come out different then they are. These ladies are from different walks of life yet they soon become insperable.

Katherine a forty seven year old professor was on the treadmill waiting for her yoga class to begin when she has a vision that someone in the gym will pull a gun. She starts to navigate her new power with her life but more odd occurances start to come to light.

The idea behind what was happening is fantastic and so refreshing as it was something I had never read about or even thought about. There is suspense, it is witty with great indepth characters and I just love the feel of Moonstone Cove.

When I'm forty seven I want to be like Katherine, who is smart as a whip, has a some social anxeity (yes I have that as well) who is loyal and one of the most genuine person. She totally changed in this book and has great character development.

Women's Paranormal Fiction is a great new genre where strong heroines who are already established in life get to live it up. However for me personally I know that I have to be in the mood to read this genre and it doesn't always hit the spot and I don't think that it is the age of the heroine's more the person and character of the heroine.

Bonus is that we get the Glimmer Lake Ladies as side characters.

Another great addition to Ms. Hunter's already awesome catalogue of books.

I still feel honoured every time I get an ARC from Ms. Hunter. So thank you so very much.

This book kept me awake WAY after my bedtime. I could not put it down - Hunter once again have created female leads that are intelligent, funny, complex and I want them all to come to my house for wine. HEr ability to transport the reader into the story, hold you there...as keep saying "one more chapter" - is something that has me jump when I see a new release from her.
Katherine, Megan and Toni are 3 incredible woman that come together and form that unique bond that only women have. Something is amiss in Moonstone Cove, and these women are out to get the mystery solved while also figuring out their new gifts.
You will find laughter, heartbreak, tears, heart-pounding moments and warmth in Hunter's latest novel, I cannot wait for readers to get their hands on it.

Genre Women’s Fiction | Paranormal Mystery

Review Snapshot : Elizabeth Hunter is a new to me author and I’m so glad I discovered her books! I’ve been in the mood for paranormal books lately and this one satisfied my cravings! I’m excited to read more in the series.

︙︙︙︙︙︙︙︙︙

I’ve never had a chance to sample Elizabeth Hunter’s novels so when I saw this book pop up on amazon when I was searching for something paranormal, I decided to take a chance and read it. WOW! I’m really glad I did! This book held me captive for hours! I love the idea that three women come together to solve a mystery after learning they each have psychic powers. I also think it’s pretty cool that each book will feature one of the three women from their newfound friendships. I will admittedly miss Katherines POV (she’s extremely sharp and intellectual; made me feel like I did when I was in college for psychology) but I know Toni’s story is going to keep me just as entertained.

Before I end this review, I want to mention that this book is much more serious than cozy mysteries. Sure, readers of that genre will still probably enjoy this one, but the subject matter is much heavier than those in a cozy. This one may contain triggers from some people (gun violence, potential suicide, and harm to an animal). Cozy mysteries are typically a lot lighter and don’t have triggers. This book does!

If you enjoy Elizabeth Hunters novels or are simply looking for something refreshing and compelling, then I recommend grabbing a copy of Runaway Fate! I enjoyed this book way more than I thought it would and felt an easy connection with the characters.

Great start to a new series!

I absolutely love this author's work! I read The Glimmer Lake Series first and I am glad I did. One because that trilogy was amazing and secondly, this series ties in with that one a bit too so it was great to see some of those great characters I loved, as well as falling in love with some new characters and their adventures that will have you up all night to finish the book! I can't wait to read what is in store next for these three ladies of Moonstone Cove and I definitely highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a great paranormal women's fiction novel!💖📚💯

This is why I don't go to the gym.

Katherine, Megan, and Toni are Elizabeth Hunter's newest power trio-a group of 40-somethings who just happen to be in the right place at the right time, even if they don't think so at first. I love the wildly different dynamics of their personalities, their characters, their language...they are so vastly relatable despite the fact that they are now realizing their supernatural abilities.
The women have help from the ladies in the Glimmer Lake series, and I'm thinking that a TV series with Val and Toni might make a network some serious money. I loved seeing their interactions and how well they helped the Moonstone Cove ladies accept their new lives.
I am really looking forward to the next books in the series, as well as how Southern Belle Megan continues to adapt to life in California.
Thank you again, Elizabeth Hunter, for pulling me into a book so completely. But I'm still not going to the gym any time soon.

This book is the first in the Moonstone Cove series and I loved it so much. We meet three new and very interesting ladies from very different backgrounds. They have to come to terms with some serious changes in their lives. I don’t want to spoil the plot at all because it was a truly enjoyable read and an interesting mystery. These characters worked so well for me. Dare I say I loved it even more than Glimmer Lake series...
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book.

Wow! This book just hits the mark. Smart, sassy, and laugh out loud funny. My family looked at me multiple times when a bubble of laughter escaped. Katherine is the perfect heroine, off the charts intelligence, but socially not quite comfortable. Mysterious events are happening on the college campus where Katherine works from unexplained crimes to psychic visions, Katherine is out of her element. My favorite part is how the friendship evolves between Katherine, Toni and Megan as they learn more about powers they possess that they have only recently become aware of. This is a book for anyone who enjoys books with humor, mystery and friendship. I can't wait until Fate Actually releases for Toni's story!

Do you know what I love about all of EH’s books? She makes every single person so damn relatable and real. This book was no different. I loved it so much! The mystery of what was happening in the book just kept me wanting more. The detail in the way it was written was brilliant. I loved the characters, they were all brought together in a crazy setting and they are all funny, and sarcastic and you can’t help, but want them to be your friends in real life. I love the beautiful relationship Katherine has with her husband as well, all their interactions with each other just make you smile. I’m super excited to read the next 2 books of this series. Definitely absolutely recommend!

Review copy was received from Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I have only read Elizabeth Hunter's offerings in the Paranormal Women's Fiction.  I like paranormal and the concept of older, more realistic heroines.  Her first trilogy, Glimmer Lake   is set in the same world as Runaway Fate,  which is the first in the Moonstone Cove trilogy.  In fact, we get a visit from the Glimmer Lake ladies.

I like Katherine who is our main character and point of view.  She is a professor, very smart and very happily married.   The incident which changes her, also changes what become her two new friends.  It is great to see her develop these new friends. They work on their new skills and their new relationship.  It's all new and uncomfortable but they need each other.

There is a mystery around the situation which brings forth their new talents.  It's tough to track down how and why it is happening. They are trying hard to save lives, but it is also dangerous for them. They do well with sorting out the problem and making a new support group for themselves.

I really enjoyed this and look forward to the next story in December, Fate Actually, which gives us Toni's viewpoint.  It is interesting that it is trios of friends rather than even numbers but it seems to work well.

Elizabeth Hunter might become one of my "let's-look-for-more-books-from-her" authors of 2024. I have re-read her Cambio Springs earlier this year, gobbled up her Glimmer Lake series, and now I'm consuming her Moonstone Cove series. This series has similarities with Glimmer Lake. Heck, it might even have the same blueprint.

Three women over forty, who developed psychic abilities, and then involved in some mysteries in their hometown. The first book has woman with the kind-understanding husband (Katherine here, Robin in Glimmer Lake). The second book has the tough-look woman (Toni here, Val in Glimmer Lake). And the third book has the sweet woman who has challenged with the marriage but definitely more emotionally strong (Megan here, Monica in Glimmer Lake). The difference is in Glimmer Lake the women are long-time friends, in this one they just start the friendship.

But yes, I loved it.

Katherine is a university professor; she develops precognition ability and able to stop a young man from doing mass shootings (Toni and Megan also involved in subduing the man). While Katherine still trying to understand her newfound 'superpower', she realizes that there are a couple of similar situation and wonder whether they are all connected. So Katherine, alongside Toni and Megan, decides to do a little investigation.

I liked the fact that Katherine, Toni, and Megan were strangers first. It is nice to see how the girl-friendship starts for women over forty. They are bonded over that traumatic event and magic. But despite the clash of personality at times (mostly Toni and Megan, Katherine is more chill), they are supporting each other when needed. Like when they find out that .

I really, really liked the mystery too. And Katherine's husband IS a male unicorn that I LOVE(!) reading in a book.

I'm definitely setting up time to read the next two books.

Loved!!

I absolutely loved this new series.

After a traumatic event in a local gym awakens psychic powers in three strangers, they now need to learn how to work together and learn how to manage their new found gifts.

Professor Katherine Bassi, has the vision of the future. Toni Dusi, has the gift of empathy, and Megan Carpenter has the gift of telekinesis ( moving objects.)

Can these 3 completely different woman learn to work together to find out what's happening on the college campus using their new gifts to find out what's causing normal kids to do violent acts of crime?

A must read! Can't wait for Toni's story next.

Runaway Fate is the first book in the new Moonstone Cove series by Elizabeth Hunter. Set in California, Runaway Fate follows the life of a trio of new friends and their newly minted psychic abilities. Katherine the professor, Toni the mechanic, and Megan the housewife and mother are the latest stars of the Paranormal Women’s Fiction (PWF) series. These are 40-something women, strong and accomplished, and closer to my age, experience, and lifestyle. Characters I can relate to better than those in their twenties or thirties.

Katherine, Toni, and Megan are as different from each other as night and day. One life-threatening event at their local gym pulls them together as they seek out answers to what exactly happened that day. Disbelief, anxiety, and denial abound as non-believers are tossed right into the middle of abilities they refused to believe were real. Surprise! The trio also must figure out why there has been an increase in violence by students at Katherine's school.

I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Hunter and devour everything she writes. She has never written anything but the best stories. I’ve been one of her biggest fans since I devoured A Hidden Fire, her first book in the Elemental Mysteries series. All of Elizabeth's novels reach deep within my emotional center and manage to trigger reactionary responses. These types of books are my favorite. The emotions don't have to always include tears; it is just the ability to invoke proper emotional responses to scenarios being played out.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.

AWESOME SERIES!!!

I started reading Elizabeth Hunters books starting with the Glimmer Lake series and I simply loved it. Now I love this series too. She has an amazing talent of matching the characters in each of her series!! Her books have comedy, suspense, romance and I just love each character and how they learn to cope with their physic abilities. Elizabeth Hunter is an AWESOME author! Please keep writing these kind of books. I can’t put them down, even if it is 2 am. They are this good!!!

What a delighful, well-crafted campus mystery!

Runaway Fate is Elizabeth Hunter’s 4th novel writing as part of the Paranormal Women’s Fiction (#PWF) collective, an association of female writers of paranormal fiction, centering their stories around mature women in the middle of their lives instead of the typically young and clueless heroine. The first three books, the Glimmer Lake trilogy about three long-time women friends in a small town that after a traumatic event suddenly develop paranormal abilities, were quite well-received and successful. This first book in the Moonstone Cove trilogy has a slight connection to the previous books, but it focuses on a new group of women who didn’t know each other before the traumatic event that unleashes their psychic abilities has them bonding. They are from wildly different backgrounds, and normally wouldn’t have struck up a friendship.
The heroine of this book, Katherine Bassi, is a physicist, with a fullfilling career at the local college, happily married to another absent-minded professor. They don’t have children, but are still very much in love and in tune with each other. Although Katherine is well liked by her colleagues and her students, she doesn’t have any close friends. But trying to solve the mystery that surrounds their shared traumatic experience lets these very different women become friends…

I really loved this book, everything from a great (though maybe not the greatest) first sentence, since that distinction clearly belongs to Jane Austen, the superb pacing, to the riveting resolution of the mystery was just so well crafted. I also like how well grounded in reality and well researched this story was; it just made the paranormal elements / psychic abilities of the three women so much more believable, as they appear so plausible. And last, but not least, I also really liked the campus-setting, which reminded me a bit of Gaudy Night by Dorothy Sayers, which sort of was the first campus mystery. I can’t wait to see what the three friends get up to next, what mystery is going to test their abilities and how the dynamic between them is going to develop. Next up is Toni, the mechanic with empathic abilities, and aside from the mystery, we are also teased with more of a romance, since at the ripe age of 41 Toni is still single…

Series Info/Source: This is the first book in the Moonstone Cove series. This book is a sister series to the Glimmer Lake series and takes place after that series, it features a different set of characters but we do get cameos from some of the Glimmer Lake characters. I borrowed this through Kindle Unlimited to read.

Story (4/5): I really enjoyed this book a lot. The story features three women who are involved with stopping a shooting at a gym and as a result of the event find out they develop psychic powers. It is definitely similar in formula and theme to the Glimmer Lake series but different enough to still be a fun read. There is a good mystery here and the story definitely propels the reader forward. I loved how the plot came together, enjoyed the humor, and just had a lot of fun reading this.

Characters (5/5): The trio of women featured here was very well done. This book focuses on Katherine who is a psychics professor; she doesn’t have kids but has decided to focus on her career and is married to the most wonderful math professor. I loved Katherine as a character and could relate to her really well. The other women she meets up with are Toni (a car mechanic who comes from a large Italian family) and Megan (who has given up her job in the South to move here with her teenagers for her husband’s job). They are all fun and engaging characters who have a lot of depth to them.

Setting (5/5): I loved the small seaside college town setting in California. It’s different enough from Glimmer Lake that it has a very different vibe going. I love visiting college towns, they just have such a high energy vibe to them and Hunter captures that feeling really well in this book. I would love to visit Moonstone Cove in person and loved reading about it.

Writing Style (5/5): I continue to be very impressed with how readable and engaging Hunter’s writing style is. She does a great job of balancing an intricate and intriguing mystery with lovable and complex characters. I enjoy the setting of the story and how human all these characters feel. The way the psychic elements are blended into these women’s lives (women who already have husbands, kids, and jobs) is really well done and feels very real.

My Summary (5/5): Overall I loved the start to the Moonstone Cove series even more than the Glimmer Lake series. This book just cemented my love for Hunter’s writing style and makes me want to check out all of the series she has written (and there are a lot of them!). There is a very well done mystery here, some interesting psychic elements, amazing characters, and a fun setting. This is just really well done and I would recommend it to those who enjoy a good paranormal mystery in a small town setting.

Really loving Paranormal Women's Fiction

I am really loving all my favorite paranormal fiction authors who are writing Paranormal Women's Fiction. This genre is written for us women of a "certain age". It's not your usual 20 something female heroine with psychic abilities. In this new collection of paranormal fiction, the women are peri-menopausal or menopausal and already experienced in life. The psychic abilities develop with menopause and /or trauma and cause a whole new set of circumstances the heroines must cope with beyond the usual hot flashes. Often the new abilities have some hilarious results. Who hasn't felt like a hot flash was burning off their clothes? In these novels that might really happen!
I have especially enjoyed the novels , Elizabeth Hunter, one of my all time favorite paranormal fiction writers, has written. I finished her first series in this new genre, and was dying to read more. "Runaway Fate" is the first novel in a spin-off series from her Glimmer Lake Series. Set in fictional Moonstove Cove in Central Coast California, Elizabeth introduces us to 3 new extraordinary women. Each develop unexpected psychic abilities suddenly when preventing a traumatic situation in the local gym. Ms. Hunter has a way of letting you see deep into the minds of these slightly flawed but strong women. Her characters are completely relatable to those of us who have a few more years of life behind us. Elizabeth Hunter allows us to see that life really does get better as we age. Even our weaknesses can help us to grow and lead to experiences we never would have had otherwise. Elizabeth's writing gives me hope as well as respite from my everyday cares. Curling up with an Elizabeth Hunter novel has always been good for my mental health! Since I have begun following her Paranormal Women's Fiction, life really does seem a little brighter! So if you are ready for some fun fiction with just a bit more substance, specifically designed for women in their 40-60's, pick up Elizabeth Hunters "Runaway Fate". If you haven't read her other series, Glimmer Lake, you might want to start there.

Move over Glimmer Lake and make room for Moonstone Cove!
Take three women who are a strangers and put them in a strange situation and what do you get? An awesome mystery shrouded in completely different personalities, new abilities, assistance from our three friends from Glimmer Lake and wine.
Katherine, Toni and Megan could not be any more different.
Katherine is a biophysicist married to Baxter, a math professor at the same university. Nerds unite! Let me just say that the research that HAD to go into some of Katherine and Baxter's conversations is impressive!
Toni is a mechanic who owns her garage. She grew up surrounded by men and tends to be hard to get to know and a little closed off. I will be anxious to see what the chip on her shoulder is all about.
Megan is a new-to-town transplant and is having a difficult time adjusting. Other under-lying issues makes this "Barbie -like" character a multi-layered surprise.
What they didn't know at the beginning, but was such a great part of Runaway Fate, is that all of them need each other in completely different ways. "An accidental sisterhood." I like to think that they are each others anchors. Their evolving friendship is as important to this story as the mystery is. That's what Ms. Hunter does so well. She builds each of her characters with such deft thought and care that you always become invested in them.
The mystery is well thought out: violence in a small town is always unexpected, but when it keeps occurring it becomes unnerving; the secondary characters are meaty; the dynamics are perfect. With all of that said, my opinion is the star of Runaway Fate is Katherine and Baxter's relationship. Their respect for each other should be a goal for everyone. Baxter's unwavering belief in his wife and his tenderness for her well-being is simply swoony.
Kudos again to PWF for continuing with adult stories about adult things. I am always honored to be able to read early copies of Ms. Hunters words. And I'm always thrilled to savor them.
I will close by informing you that, I, too, can relate to "seasonal decorating".
Gah! I love this writer!

Not looking forward to the colder weather? Are the shortening daylight hours getting you down? Are you looking for a good book to curl up with on the next gray and rainy day? Look no more!

I had the chance to read an early copy of Runaway Fate, the latest in Elizabeth Hunter’s paranormal women’s fiction genre, and it is an absolute delight. Much like her Glimmer Lake series, this book is a quick, solid mystery (that certainly kept me guessing!), with enough of a supernatural twist to appeal to my love of the paranormal without ever getting too dark or creepy. That’s not to say it’s all sunshine and roses in the quiet university town of Moonstone Cove, not with a rise in strange and unprompted violent acts amongst the students. Is it all a coincidence? Or is there a more sinister power at work? Katherine, Megan and Toni are going to find out…assuming they can figure out how to work together. And how to work their new psychic powers. And maybe not blow their personal lives out of the water in the process.

Fortunately for Dr. Katherine Bassi, this is all still neither as challenging as her doctoral defense, nor as risky as unexpected brunch with strangers. I loved this heroine, with her tendency to spout paragraphs of science when under stress, and her deep desire for coffee at all hours, despite the increased perils of caffeine after noon. I also loved her relationship with Baxter – whose only true flaw is his questionable opinions about psychology as a science (I say with absolutely no college-major-related bias)—and the presence of a clearly happy, healthy, long-term married relationship. (For fans of Elizabeth Hunter’s A Stone Kissed Sea, a side note: you are going to LOVE the return of the science nerd power couple.)

But the very best part of it all? The sequel comes out in two months! Can’t wait for more Moonstone Cove!

This was such an excellent beginning for a new series. Katherine and Baxter are relationship goals. They are so easily perfect for each other. Every scene involving the two gave me a warm feeling in my stomach. When she meets Megan and Toni, it's a little stressful at first, but time and circumstance bring them together again and again. The fall into a fun friendship that I'd like to be a part of. As the mystery of the plot begins to unfold, it's not predictable. It's smart, nuanced, and more than I ever could have imagined. Elizabeth Hunter has such a brilliant imagination, and I always enjoy seeing how her stories are going to play out. When a trio of familiar ladies show up on the doorstep, it really my me smile. I will be happily awaiting book 2, these ladies still have plenty of stories to tell.

Runaway Fate is another home run from Elizabeth Hunter! This is an offshoot of her Glimmer Lake series and while you don’t have to read those to enjoy this book, I highly recommend that you do. This book centers around Katherine, a university professor and a traumatic event that causes her to have psychic abilities. This event also bonds her to two women, Toni and Megan, who develop new abilities too. I loved the very real relationship between these three women who don’t know each other and are thrown into each other’s lives. Katherine has always considered herself different and an outsider and has never really had girlfriends so this new relationship with these women was sometimes difficult for her but also filled a part of her that was missing. What isn’t missing from her life is a wonderful marriage to an amazing man. I adored her relationship with her husband, Baxter, and his love for her was beautiful. There is a mystery surrounding several disturbing events and these ladies come together, with Baxter, to get to the bottom of what’s happening. I enjoyed this story from start to finish and loved the relationships and mystery in this story! I definitely recommend Runaway Fate! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Trigger warnings for gun violence and domestic violence. I was given an arc by the author to read and review.

Runaway Fate is book one in the new Moonstone Cove Series by Elizabeth Hunter.
Meet Katherine. Her life's good. She loves her job as a profeesor at the college, is deeply in love with her husband. The middle agers are settled well into their life.
When mysterious visions show up, Katherine is remembered of a call a few months back, and her life is about to change. Just like her two new friends, the manager at an autoshop and a housewive, nothing is as it was before.
The woman who only believes in hard facts is teached a lesson.
Runaway Fate is a captivating, suspenseful novel, unputdownable, made me read it from cover to cover in one sitting. I especially loved the cross-overs to her Glimmer Lake Series. I loved meeting the characters from this series, just like toget acquainted with the characters in this new series.
I recommend this wonderful, outstanding story, 5 stars.

You're about to meet Katherine, Megan and Toni, and they are a trio like no other. 3 strangers just trying to stay fit at the gym when fate starts laughing and knocks them off their feet. Literally.
This story follows Katherine as she deals with a new talent that has been bestowed upon her. She begins getting visions of the future and she has no idea when they will pop up or if it will be anything of significance. When students at her local college start hurting themselves or people they care about, Katherine tries to get to the bottom of it and stop it from happening again.
I really enjoyed getting to know these new characters and the town of Moonstone Cove. I have a feeling that this is the beginning of something beautiful, and I'm looking forward to reading Megan and Toni's stories next!

I hate to admit this, but every time I start an Elizabeth Hunter book I wonder if this will be the one to disappoint me. Then about two chapters in, I realize that she's amazed me again! Hunter writes the absolute best characters and tells the most engaging stories. Even if I dislike a character, it's because the character deserves to be disliked.

Runaway Fate is Katherine's story in a new Paranormal Women's Fiction trilogy. We get 3 new women, all over 40 and as real as can be, living and dealing with new psychic abilities... and using those abilities to help solve mysteries.

I want to be these womens friend! Sit on the deck and have a cocktail with them! This kind of friendship is honored and treasured amongst women. Ms. Hunter writes these relationships so well that we, the readers, feel like we are a part of them. To the point that we miss them when they're gone.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I simply cannot wait for what Hunter has in store for us next!!!

This was an exceptional first in series. I love how it ties into another series and yet is so different. I enjoyed the characters and the relationship building. The professors marriage was freaking adorable and the friendships were amazing! I can’t wait for the next one!
