Poomani (Tamil: பூமணி) (born 1947) is a Sahithya Academy Winning Tamil writer from Kovilpatti in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.He won Sahithya Academy Award for his novel Agnaadi in 2014.

This time author choose School as the ground for his novel. The novel tracks down the life and characteristics of various teachers and staffs of a school and author weaves the story intricately capturing finer aspects of relations and nuances of life. Particularly I am impressed with Pandian Teacher and his way of managing affairs. This is a too good book which followed conversational writing style and they are very intelligent and witty too.

படிப்பதற்கு எளிமையாக பள்ளி சூழலை கதைக்களமாக கொண்டு சராசரி ஆசிரியர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை எந்தவித மிகைப்படுத்தலும் இல்லாமல் கதை நகர்கிறது.
