Sita Ram Goel (16 October 1921 – 3 December 2003) was an Indian religious and political activist, writer and publisher in the late twentieth century. He had Marxist leanings during the 1940s, but later became an outspoken anti-communist and also wrote extensively on the damage to Indian culture and heritage wrought by expansionist Islam and missionary activities of Christianity. In his later career he emerged as a commentator on Indian politics, and adhered to Hindu nationalism.
These kind of books you will hardly find in school, college or academic studies because pseudo secular and communist don't want you read these books instead they will distort the history. The author of this book Sita Ram Goel is amazing, he write books with facts and reference. No nonsense. I am not surprised why these kind of books are not in main stream or even famous.
If you believed that Hinduism remained only in the area where India is represented in the map, you'll be in for a surprise. More importantly, if you have believed that all through the history, Hindus have been mute scapegoats getting sacrificed in masses, then this book is for you. It's a small book of 54 pages. It leaves a huge impact on the mind of a reader. Summary of 600 years has been accommodated in this book. Every Hindu will certainly feel proud after reading it.
A question which has long troubled me about Indian history is how such a great civilization could not resist against the Islamic invaders and surrendered meekly. The usual explanation I came across was that Hindu kings of the time lacked unity and thus were easy targets to be conquered. This explanation never quite sat well with me, and thanks to doyens like Sita Ram Goel and Dr.Ram Gopal Misra, whose book he reviews in this book, I have uncovered the layers of truth buried deep under Marxist and leftist perpetrated "history" which we learned in our history books and which continue to dominate our media and academic circles.
This book is short but packs a punch with every sentence. We are given a point by point overview of the history of Arabic and Turkish invasions in India right from the death of the Prophet and how they rapidly expanded their military might throughout the Middle East swiftly but failed repeatedly at the borders of India, which then extended all the way to Afghanistan. We are given accounts of many Hindu kings who both individually and as confederacy's with other kingdoms (thus debunking the claim that they lacked unity) successfully thwarted the repeated attacks of the invaders and protected our territory.
Even the oft-touted invasions of Mahmud Ghazni and Muhammad Ghori were wrought with struggles and failures and loss of thousands of enemy soldiers. The very fact that the Islamic invaders converted every inch of the lands they conquered within a few short years but faced a prolonged resistance of around 600 years before they could establish a dynasty, and even then, India remains a majority Hindu country is a testament to the fighting spirit and the need to protect this civilizations strain of Sanatana Dharma, which was beyond any physical frontier they tried to protect as it encompassed an entire social, cultural and spiritual order.
How often have we heard of Ghazni, Ghori and Qutubuddin Aibak in comparison to Shahiyas, Chaulukyas, Chauhans, Chandelas, Maukharis, Gahadavads and so many other dynasties whose kings and soldiers put their lives at stake in order to protect our ethos?
The author signs off grimly by claiming that it is this rot in our civilizational awareness and self-confidence which has led to the severe dilution of India's heritage and that a spirited renaissance in all fronts with an aggressive forward policy is required in order to face the threat which the enemy state continues to pose up to this day.
You keep on swelling with pride as you go through this book. The story and the events flow so smoothly through this that you can picturize what all had happened.
This book is highly based on Dr. Ram Gopal Mishra’s monologue. The author analyzed Dr. Mishra’s contents and put forward his own analysis at the end as well.
Islamic invasion in India had always been taught to us in so many words and chapters and yet this book explains us much more in more details, yet in lesser number of chapters. The names of the kings and the rulers that the author talks about were not even slightly mentioned in school history books. Islamic invasion in India had always started suddenly from western India and what happened to Afghanistan and how, had never been mentioned.
All through these years, I kept on wondering how could Gandhar (as mentioned in The Mahabharata) is in Afghanistan! The author finally have put my restless mind at ease by detailing it from the point to where my knowledge had left me.
These kind of books should always be encouraged by parents to be read by future generations alongside school books - as it doesn’t matter in which language or system we had been schooled, real Indian history had always been hidden from us.
What strikes most is that, this book doesn’t only mention the actual history and doesn’t only stop at pointing out the barbarism and problems of the past but also ends up in arguing on the flaws Hindu front had in coping up and also ends up nicely with how to tackle forward. This is something many historical analytical books miss out on.
It re-ignites the hope that there could still be a Hindu way of solving the crisis.
I have to wait for nearly three decades to know names of Lalitaditya, Pulakesin Avani-Janasraya, Chaulukya Bhimadeva, Naiki Devi etc. who gave thrashing after thrashing to Arabs, Turks and Moghul.
From the day when Marxists started controlling all top post of educational institutes of India, "India’s history has become a history of foreign invaders - Aryans, Iranians, Greeks, Parthians, Scythians, Kushans, Arabs, Turks, Persians, Portuguese, Dutch, French, and British."
The greatness of Shri Sita Ram Goel is that perhaps no one can make reading of history so thrilling. The Hindus thwarted and thrashed barbaric Arabs, which destroyed mighty empire of Byzantine, Egypt, Syria, Mesopotamia, for about 540 years. Whereas, all other empires just islamized within 30-40 years. It is really sad to see the valor, spirit, bravery of Hindus have evaporated and they are just happy to become secular.
This book was based on Indian Resistance to Early Muslim Invaders Upto 1206 A.D by Dr. Ram Gopal Misra.
Summary of 600 years has been accommodated in this book. We need more books like this. Its high time for us to unbrainwashed ourselves. Even though this book is small yet it is powerful. It also teach us the lessons that we have to learn from our history, if not, we would be annihilated sooner or later.
A very short but important book on the continuous and fierce Hindu resistance against Islamic invasions. This resistance was always characterised by a distinct consciousness of defending the Dharma and the Hindu civilization and its way of life against the barbaric Mleccha invaders. Sita Ram Goel ji raises some important points in the analysis at the end that are very important for us today. The need for a Hindu state with a distinctive Hindu consciousness and outlook , and the need for an aggressive forward policy rather than a defensive and passive one that we seem to be embodying even today.
A path breaking book that every Hindu should read. Opens one's eyes to how Islam and its followers tried to destroy our ancient civilisation, and failed because of the heroic fight put up my our ancestors.
This 41 page brief but so aptly summarised commentary by Dr. Sita Ram Goel, on Dr. Ram Gopal Misra’s book titled ,Indian Resistance to Early Muslim Invaders Upto 1206 A.D., MUST be read by each and every true Hindu Indian, as well as a pseudo secular (if at all he or she is interested to know the reality and not continue to be hoodwinked by Marxist/Muslim historians). I have read the primary book by Dr Ram Gopal Misra, a well researched, honest work based on not only easily available Islamic sources but also from Indic Sanskrit inscriptions Which our secular historians have been (even from British times) conveniently ignored or failed to understand.
A must read for better understanding of our true early history when we resisted the early Islamic imperialistic, barbaric onslaughts till 1206 CE, and thereby rekindle/preserve fast dwindling Hindu pride on our Sanatan Dharma Which has reached us in a state of so much of corruption under the influence of alien, barbaric faith & culture, that it has almost lost its original humane/spiritual elements.
Even a fairly well read person like me (if i can dare to call myself so in India) felt ashamed of my schooling after reading this book.
I always thought and have been reading Pakistan education system brainwashes its population with corrupt history. Though that still stands true but how foolish i have been in thinking that India and its education system cannot be corrupt and nation standing with motto of "Satyamev Jayate" cannot be a-tleast teaching false history.
And i am ashamed to admit, i could not have been far from truth. We have been as much brainwashed by out leftist and islamist Historians, as Pakistani counterparts, if not more.
Reading this book has come as a tight slap and i look to read more into books by Sita Ram Goel and RC Majumdar.
Much pride when you read this book to know howuch valour our ancestors had in fighting barberism and the Invaders out India's past. A must read if you want a brief summary of 600 yrs of history in a pamphlet.
Sita Ram Goel in his impeccably straight-forward language gives a review of Ram Gopal Misra's "Indian Resistance to Early Muslim Invasions upto 1206 A.D.", brilliantly highlighting the mistakes committed in the past and the policy to be adopted for the future.
Through this short book of about 50 pages the reader realizes the lapses in the curriculum of the Indian students at schools and colleges. The reader is informed of numerous historical events skipped over (deliberately?) by the historians-in-charge of making our history textbooks.
I recommend this book to each and every Indian and to those who are interested in the history of our great land.
This book is a shortened version of the scholarly book Indian Resistance to muslim invaders upto 1206 AD by Ram Gopal Mishra. Contrary to the historical narrative of stalinist historians that India being essentially a no man's land that only has a history of invasions and failed defence to those invasions, the book informs us about the deliberately ignored and suppressed facet of Indian history, that is the strong Hindu resistance to muslim invasions. This resistance is very important to study if we compare it with the speed at which Iran fell to islam or spain which fell to islam quickly.
This book wakes one up from an induced slumber! never would we have heard of so many leaders and kings who valiantly crushed the invaders and protected this land, There is no mention of a Chauhan king or kings from Assam to name a few who were victorious in protecting Bharatavarsha in our history textbooks, This book is a must read for every citizen of the earth as we get the truth and not what certain political and religious agents want us to read!
Its a very short summary of how Hindus have fought the Islamic aggression during the first 600 years after the birth of Islam. Obviously, this part of history cannot be found in our SECULAR Indian history syllabus of our Indian education system. This book also gives the invaluable lessons to be learnt from that history for the future of Hindus.
A short yet riveting read. Sita Ram Goel claims that Muslim invaders who could not defeat Hindu Kings with valour manage to conquer India with perfidy.
Omitting the past records and harsh truths has been the pattern followed in our curriculum. Sanitizing the truth will only lead to confusion. This book is a must read for each and every indian who wants to know about the valour possessed by our forefathers. Accounts of Ghazni to Ghuri is well explained and the tragedy of Nalanda University of Bihar can be visualised.
A brief book but sets the record straight. Makes for an revealing and knowledgeable read. I suggest reading Dr Ram Gopal Misra’s book ‘Indian resistance to early Muslim Invaders upto 1206 A.D’ for a more comprehensive view.
The book is diminutive in size. But it is packed with conscientious research, and is thus a rock-hard and considerable contribution to the history of a moderately incomprehensible period of Indian history.
What is more important is the point of view.
“The present thesis,” writes Dr. Misra in his Preface, “is an attempt to provide a connected account of the prolonged and sustained efforts made by Indians to stem the tide of early Muslim invaders.
The political and military resistance was spread over more than five and half centuries till its final collapse in northern India in the last decade of the 12th Century A.D.
For long, historians have emphasised just the eventual cave in of the Indians, ignoring entirely the resistance offered by them.
It is a fact of history that such sustained resistance as encountered by the Muslim arms in India was not faced by them in any other land conquered by them...
The Indian resistance had another facet, which was the outcome of the unyielding willpower of the Indians to preserve their religious and cultural identity.
While country after country, from the straits of Gibralter to the banks of the Indus, witnessed the rapid
Islamization of their individual cultures, even Northern India managed to survive as a predominantly ‘heathen’ land even after five centuries of Muslim rule.”
The book reveals the untold or hidden valourous history of Hindus offering the resistance to Islamic invasion for 570 years. It points out that the historical text books we read always skipped this part.
The book also states the pseudo reasons imprinted in text books and the actuals for the failures incurred on Hindus.
Lastly and most importantly the lesson that we as a Hindu society to learn is outsed very much clearly! Dhanyavad to the author for summarizing the historical hiddens and the lessons.

This is not an original theory by Sita Ram Goel. Rather it is a critique of another book: Indian Resistance to Early Muslim Invaders Upto 1206 A.D. by Dr Ram Gopal Misra
As the names suggest, both Goel’s and Misra’s books propound the theory that, contrary to what we have been made to believe, Hindus did not meekly surrender to the invading Muslim armies. The North Indian Hindu princes did put up a brave fight against the invaders. It is because of their heroism that Hindustan did not become Islamized – unlike countries like Egypt, Syria or Persia.
Goel (and Misra) have special scorn for the “secular” historians who, they contend, have underplayed the havoc and destruction wrought on the Indian civilization by the “imperialist ideology” of Islam.
If, Goel argues, the Hindus do not wake up to the dangers posed to their civilizational heritage by the forces inimical to it, this ancient country will be lost forever.
Yes, it does sound like “right-wing propaganda”.
But given the state of the world, it may not be very wise to entirely dismiss a book like Goel’s as “Hindu Terror’s” User Manual.
Because, after living side-by-side for over thousand years, the country was still vivisected on religious lines and we are no closer to “communal harmony” than we ever were.
Let’s hope and pray that the twenty first century, that is changing the world beyond recognition, will change the way we look at religion and the relationship between faiths. May be, it will lead us to concentrate our human energy and endowments on the issues that matter most – climate change, burgeoning population, income inequality, onslaught of disruptive technology, breakdown of inter-personal relationships.
This book mainly focuses on the invasion of Islamic invaders, and our ancestral's resistance and to it. It has stated the facts and figures in chronological order. If anyone wants to revive their history knowledge, then this would be the best, Specially those who were under the influence of Romila Thapar.
Our history is not only about foreign invaders, but it's about the rich civilization that existed before the invasions, and about the brave heroes who fought for centuries.Dynasties perished as they fought and sacrificed on the battlefield throughout generations. They adhered to Dharm and never attacked retreating enemies or deceived cunning invaders. By reading this book, you will realize that invading Bharat was not as easy as others claimed it to be. You will feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride. We owe our existence to our ancestors.
This book is an analysis of 'Indian resistance to early Muslim invasions up to 1206 AD'. I will definitely read this one as well.
Concise read of an important inquiry for all Indians.
The history of Hindu kingdoms' defence from 600-1200AD is indeed washed over in our standard curricula and broader societal consciousness & discourse. This book serves as a good starting point for further inquiry.
Prolific reference of a book by Ram Gopal Misra, with last 2 chapters driving key conclusions by the author.
