December 15, 2023Please don’t tell readers this book is fine as a standalone, it clearly is not. There are hundreds of references to different characters, back stories, shared history, etc.
“At least you don’t have full-blown amnesia like Emily’s brother Jake had to deal with,”
Who? What?
Liam’s wife’s brother had temporarily lost his memories a few years back, and it’d been a lot worse for Jake.
Umm ok, but who is Jake? The hero in this book is Roman.

When his hands gently captured hold of her arms, at first, she thought he might shove her away. There was a slightly angry curve to his lips as if he were on the verge of snapping.
This was a look she could read easily. And it was rare. Only when someone or something threatened her or the team did he become this fierce. The look of a warrior in the midst of battle, fueled by adrenaline, honor, and patriotism. Not necessarily in that order.
“What is it?” she asked, somewhat breathless, as he held her captive, her hands still splayed on the hard wall of his chest.
He growled out something indecipherable. Low and deep, so raspy it lit a fire in her stomach and traveled south. When he physically removed her hands from his body to walk around her, she closed her eyes and set her palms on the wall and tried to get a grip.
“Zack wasn’t thrilled we hijacked his case,” Roman said.
Work talk, of course. Maybe that was a good idea. Trying to dive into Roman’s mind in hopes she’d come out with some type of truth from him was mission impossible.
“It’ll be better without Zack here. I wasn’t a fan of having to play his girlfriend.”
“And I wasn’t a fan of his hand on your a*s.” There was a definite sharpness to his tone now, the heavy blade of a Tier One operative that time.
She turned abruptly, shocked by his statement, and found Roman leaning against a different wall, this one by the closet, a hand massaging his hip. Did he realize what he’d just said, without so much as a blink of regret or flinch of uneasiness?

Number 9 of the Stealth Ops Series and you think what else more can happen or can there be more chemistry? The questions to that is there are LOTs more can happen and the pages were burning with chemistry! Roman and Harper skirted around their feelings long enough. Roman made a decision that would affect both of them and he chose to not tell her to try and protect her. Harper had her own ghosts but these ghosts really didn't prevent her to pursue what she wanted.Only time will tell when you read their story how they end up!
Love that Echo and Bravo are back in one book and band together as brothers to eliminate the threat on the team! The story ebbs and flows so smoothly you don't realize how quick you can read it.

I can’t do this book justice with my words but I’m going to try. Roman and Harper’s chemistry literally sizzles off the pages. They’re both harboring secrets not allowing them to love each other like they want to. But an attempt on Harper’s life brings out the best/worst in Roman. He’s an enraged warrior ready to put himself in the line of fire willing to lose her and love her from afar. Those secrets that were making them stay away made them stronger than they thought and the team (his brothers) who he thought would not sustain his betrayal come through in a way he never saw coming. This story is about redemption and second chances.

This book is all the things. The intensity of the relationship between Roman and Harper leaps off the pages and slaps you right in the heart. I cried, I got nervous, I seethed, I wanted to jump through the book to join the fight... I wanted to scream to the characters like Bastian from Neverending Story in hopes they could hear me and heed my advice. Roman is constantly tested by just what all physically and emotionally people will go through for those they love. Our families are many times those we choose, and those who stand beside us in spite of all our failures and shortcomings. They stick by you regardless of our past sins.
Holy moly I was not expecting their adversary able to contrive such an elaborate plan to try and tear our favorite Bravo and Echo teams down to absolute tatters and ruin. Probably the most emotional battle to date The Teams have faced. Thank goodness our boys have the help of the brilliant women on their team, ones who love them and willing to sacrifice as much for them, too.
Slow clap, Brittney. I am absolutely in total awe of your written word. Roman is by far the most passionate and intense character in the series.

My god, the anticipation leading up to this book and this couple was astounding and Brittney did not disappoint. This had absolutely everything you could hope for; incredible flashbacks of Harper and Roman’s relationship and how it built, action with the teams, swoon worthy current story line and so so much tension and angst. I absolutely adored this couple and what they went through. I think this couple went through maybe more than any of the other Stealth ops couples and I couldn’t have been happier to finally have their story wrapped up! Bravo Brittney on yet another amazing novel. I can’t wait for Finns story, and the Bama story line and others!!

This book. Oh. My. Word.
The depth of the plot, the insane surprises, and the history make for one phenomenal book. I was fortunate to be able to read a hawkeye copy and let me tell you...I wish I could unread it and reread it over and over again as if it were the first time. There are so many scenes where you'll end up reading the sentence at least twice and think, "no...are you serious?!?!".
Brittney has once again done an amazing job at writing a captivating book. The characters depth of emotions, expressive storylines, and passion are so thoroughly captured in her words. Harper is such a badass and Roman...well he's Roman and pretty close to perfection but with dark secrets that help to highlight the fact that he is only human.
I can't wait for everyone else to be able to enjoy this story. While all of her books are standalone...reading them in order helps you to really feel all of the feels while reading Roman and Harper's story. Cheers to you Brittney...well done...again.

Secrets buried in the Shadows always come to light. I didn't think it was possible for Brittney to surpass her previous books in The Stealth Ops series,but she reached a whole new plateau with this offering.
From the very first page,it grabs you by the heart and the throat. The want,the anticipation, the pain,the frustration, the dread,the intensity was so palpable you feel it through the pages.
How many second chances do people who deserve them really get?
The Teams have to rally, to protect their own,and as a former Navy veteran, I can tell you,it isn't the time served or the day to day things you miss,its the camaraderie and the feeling that no matter what, someone will have your six. These people have each others six.
The steamy scenes were off the Scoville chart!!!!!
The epilog......not gonna lie,my eyes may have gotten a wee bit shiny.
So thank you to Brittney, for the opportunity to go on this rollercoaster of a journey. It was well worth the myriad of feelings this book elicited.

OMG!! This book has everything that you want and expect from a Brittney Sahin book. I think that everyone who has read the rest of the Stealth Op books has been waiting on Roman and Harper's story. Let me tell you it does not disappoint. I did not want this book to end, but unfortunately it did. Just to prepare you all it works on all of your emotions every single one. I highly recommend it.

Brittney, Brittney...what have you done! Asher was my favorite! But let me just say this ROMAN! OMG! I never was jealous of a fictional character but I want to be Harper soo bad! This is the first book that was just killing me with anticipation! And let me tell you Brittney did not disappoint with this amazing book. It has love lost, evil family, secrets, lies, suspense and finally true soulful love!
Roman is fighting a battle that no one knows about, not even his brother Bravo and Echo team. He feels like he must suffer alone. And because he has an end date, he feels he can’t be with the love of his life, Harper. Roman quietly suffers while pushing the best thing in his life away.
Harper is a strong woman. She has been through soo much and it doesn’t bring her down. She fights for what she wants and fights for what is right. Harper and Roman are made for each other, they are 2 souls that belong together.
Brittney lets us in to how their love started and grew with flashbacks to the times they were together. This just makes our hearts grow in their love and we feel their pain when they are apart. Their love story is so beautifully written, that I just devoured this book! I didn’t want it to end. The love that Roman has for Harper is pure and forever. These two have been through so much that I feel that they have become my favorite couple ever! (Asher and Jessica are just a smidgen behind them, though!)

Chasing Shadows is book #9 and WOW. My words will not do it justice. This has been one of Brittney's most anticipated books. Readers have been waiting for this dynamite couple for whats seemed like forever!! Let me just say this book does not disappoint!! It is brilliant. I found myself thinking I couldn't read fast enough yet at the same time wanting to take my time and soak in the book. Roman and Harpers characters have a connection that is out of this world. Their chemistry is smoking hot, their push and pull have you frustrated and cheering them on all at the same time. The emotions that these two face has your heart aching for them. Not just the emotion these two face but even what the TEAMS face! These guys are pushed but as Bravo and Echo and proved their brotherhood means everything to them! This book has twists and turns that has you turning the page trying figure out what is going to happen next, and telling yourself oh just one more chapter. Chasing Shadows is the heart racing, gasping moments one min. Laughing at the guys for their banter the next. You'll find yourself yelling at the characters, and then crying 7 pages later. You cannot ask for a better read, don't be surprised when you find yourself wanting to pick it up the next day to reread because you don't want it to end.

This. Story. Is. So. Freakin. Tight.
If you’re a fan of Brittney Sahin’s Stealth Ops series, you’ve been waiting on Harper and Roman’s story for, what feels like, forever.
Talk about slow burn.
Since we first glimpsed their stolen glances when they thought no one was paying attention, and as their story slowly progressed from their appearances in the previous Stealth Ops books and most recently, from the Dublin Nights series, The Final Hour, their chemistry is so palpable that, for this reader, they were always stealing the scenes.
This book is a perfect culmination of all their pent up sexual tension we’ve been teased with over the course of the last few books, that I’d be lying if I said reading some scenes didn’t give me butterflies.
Roman is my new #1 book boyfriend. He’s stealthily (no pun intended) gone and knocked all others off the top spot. His fierce loyalty to those he loves is by far his most endearing characteristic.
There’s nothing he wouldn’t do to protect those he considers family.
Brittney writes awesome Alpha males but where I believe she excels is her incredibly amazing female characters. They are strong, independent and such badasses they are women I want at my six in dealing with life.
Harper is no exception. Such a fabulous female character that we have caught glimpses of since book 1. Her quirky sense of humour... gotta get some of those tees she wears!... to watching her flip into operator mode in a nano second is awesome.
Now let’s talk about the non-romance bit of this story.
When I say this story is tight... I mean NO holes at all. It’s so brilliantly woven plot wise I had so many moments where I didn’t see “it” coming. Characters you thought we’d seen the last of, make an appearance. I would think, come on... how’s this going to all come together... and then it does. Magnificently.

Navy SEAL Roman Riviera, as intelligent and honorable as he is selfless and sexy, finds himself caught between protecting those he loves (including his brothers on the Teams) and giving in to his feelings for the woman he has loved since he first laid eyes on her. Team intelligence specialist Harper Brooks is a survivor through and through – brave, smart, tough, beautiful…and completely and totally gone for Echo 4. Their journey toward their HEA twists from steamy, seductive, and passionate, taking dangerous hairpin turns at high speed along the way, to heartachingly intimate and profoundly beautiful. Ms. Sahin has created a rich family of characters and painstakingly attends to the details like the master craftswoman that she is, and it is evident in each and every interaction between the familiar names and faces throughout the story. My heart hurts knowing that we only have one more Team member left in this series, and I find myself at turns excited to see Finn get his HEA and dreading it like the last ride before the amusement park shuts down. There are many scenes that broke my heart and many times I want to shake them to just be. Chasing Shadows is achingly beautiful. Harper is Roman's flame that keeps him burning inside yet afraid to touch at the same time.
I love the Bravo and Echo men. This band of brothers are always there to support even going to war with the devil. Their wives are equally strong and cannot be ignored once they set their minds into something.

Chasing Shadows will surpass those expectations. The emotion, the adventure, and the ride you go on will leave you breathless. This book is amazing. Brittney will surpass your expectations and tgen some. Harper and Roman are truly amazing and their love is intense. I never knew what they meant by book hangover until now!!

These books are so much more than romantic suspense. The depth and complexity of the story and the characters matches or exceeds many of the books on the mainstream bestsellers lists. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

Roman is such an alpha - hot, protective and in control. Harper is super smart, sassy and can hold her own whether in funky t-shirts or a designer dress. Both have pasts that keep them apart, despite how explosive they are together.
This story is incredible. So much action and intrigue that had me on the edge of my seat, I had to keep reading to see what happened next. I honestly could not predict how they were going to get through to their HEA.

Brittney has been teasing us with Roman and Harper's story for quite a while and she did not disappoint! While this is a standalone book, If you have not read the other books in the Stealth Ops series, stop what you are doing and read them first, you don't want to miss the build-up to this book.
Trying to write a review without revealing too many spoilers for this book is almost impossible. But I will give it my best shot. Roman and Harper tried to be together but secrets and fears forced them apart. Roman feels he has no choice but to break it off with Harper to protect her life, from a man who will do anything to get revenge using him. This book is filled with HOT (and I mean HOT) flashbacks and suspenseful moments as the teams fight against an old enemy and Roman's and Harper's demons. You will want to jump into these pages not only to experience the thrills and chills but to scream at some characters who aren't listening. Grab a blanket, make yourself comfortable, and be sure have a drink nearby because once you start reading, you will not want to stop for anything!

HEART POUNDING!!!
Though I believe this book is a stand alone, if you haven’t read the previous eight stealth ops books do yourself a favor and go read them! Brittney does amazing job of filling the reader in on all the back story throughout the whole book but to appreciate this couple go read the entire series. None of the books will disappoint, so yeah go read them!
Chasing Shadow’s is hands down my favorite out of the nine books. This book will have your heart racing from the first chapter till the very end. One of the things I love about Brittney Sahin as author is she keeps you guessing. I have read to many book and to often know exactly which way a plot is heading. Not Chasing Shadow’s, there are so many twist and turns that will have your heart racing while you read. Very rarely does a book make me cry but this book brought tears to my eyes during certain parts and hit me right in the feels. I feel like I know these characters personally and love all of them.
Roman and Harper....what can I say I think they are my new favorite book couple. Brittney Sahin has outdone herself yet again with Roman and Harper. Ive been super excited for their story as the tension continued to build in the other stories leading to this one. These 2 are my absolute favorite!
I loved how Brittney would go back in time to when they finally gave in to temptation and then of course cursed her when they decided to go back to friends... they were so not meant to be just friends!
Roman's past is a hell of a lot more involved and intense than I had anticipated but Holy hell woman! This held my attention the whole read and I am sad its over now! What he went through just adds conviction to him being my fave of all the guys so far...
I can't imagine what Harper went through losing her parents, how tragic! But I'm also so happy she could be with her family friends and grow into the super smart cyber girl! Love her shirts with the fun sayings and the reason she wears them.
My fave item she has though is the pendent Roman gave her...SO FREAKING SWEET!!

What can you say about this book to do it justice? Not sure I can. Ms Sahin is a master of weaving a tale of intrigue, drama, suspense and love. As we already are familiar with Harper and Roman from previous books....and just to say if you haven’t read the previous books then you won’t get the full benefit of this book and it’s impact will be lost.
The build up to this book has been going on for a while and so we know something has to give but what’s behind their reticence is revealed very slowly in this book. You can feel the love between these two and knowing they face an uphill battle breaks your heart.
Once again there’s trouble afoot in the form of a known adversary although it takes awhile for them to figure it out. The trail of trouble is so tangled and interwoven it’s genius! It’s not until near the end that all the pieces fall into place and it will make you gasp at the ingenuity.
Many times I had tears in my eyes whilst reading this story, the heartache and sacrifice are immense and takes a toll on our guys and girls. Lots of nuggets are there to find for future books too. I’m so excited now for Finn’s book and can’t wait to see what Ms Sahin comes up with as I know it’ll be epic. Fabulous book and series.

With each book in this series that gets released the more I fall in love with each of the characters!! Brittney is making it really hard for me to choose a favourite couple because I can't choose as I love them all. Each of the storylines are different but all the endgoals are the same.. For the couple to have a HEA.
I've been waiting for Harper and Roman's story for quite a while lol. I just knew we'd find out why they weren't together from the past few books. But I knew that once we got their story it would be one hell of a ride. Brittney didn't disappoint either.
Both Harper and Roman are in love with one another but because of each of their pasts they've got secrets, some bigger than others and because of that they just have to be friends. Even though they both want to be together they can't. So they just love from afar.
Brittney gave us all the feels because Roman & Harper just have one of those loves that makes your heart happy. The storyline was action packed to learning about what shadows have been following them both.
I had all the swooning going on whilst reading their story, I cried sad and happy tears, with hand on the heart moments then I was crying some more lol.

This book was great! I love how loyal Roman is and what he was willing to sacrifice for the ones he loves. I loved how the story showed how even the good have secrets and the strong are also vulnerable at times and that sharing your emotions is not a sign of weakness. I love how all the players are in the story so we see all our favorites and get caught up on everyone. I loved Harper ❤️. I loved all the ways she honored and remembered her birth parents while loving her adoptive family with all her heart. Roman and Harper were amazing together and hot!!!

Britteny Sahin keeps rolling out one 5+ star book after another! When you think it can't get better, BAM, she does it again! Harper and Romans story does NOT disappoint. This book will pull at your heartstrings, make you mad, and everything in between. Some characters you want to hug, and do bodily damage to others (if they existed). You can't go wrong with Britteny Sahin!!

We’ve waited so long, and we are not disappointed! Chasing Shadows by Brittney Sahin is a convoluted story worth reading as it keeps book lovers on the edge of their seats trying to figure out who might be the culprit/culprits leading the Teams on a wild goose chase. The people, themselves, work throughout the tale to determine who is pulling their strings; readers do the same, and it’s not until the end of the narrative that we are all sure. They are well-developed characters with very dangerous problems and secrets. Roman Riviera is in love with Harper Brooks, and she is in love with him. Readers have known it for several novels now, even their teammates suspect; we just didn’t know that the “why” they could not be together was because of Roman’s rich, controlling, treacherous, blackmailing uncle. Roman feels they should just remain friends so as not to put an “uncle target” on her back. Harper does not understand that Roman has committed sins for his uncle to protect her, his family, and his brothers. His secret is finally revealed to all of us, and it’s bad. The powerful uncle, who is worse than the mafia, is a sick human being who owns many of the legal and illegal businesses and people of Barcelona including Roman (for now). But wait, the narrative gets even more complicated as the uncle is being blackmailed by an old nemesis of the Teams. Even after they have enough definitive proof on the revolting uncle to put him away for several lifetimes, their problems continue with this evil traitor, who was imprisoned by the Teams, and who is now trying to destroy them from his place of incarceration. Through it all, Roman and Harper’s devotion to each other is tested many times, but there is something so satisfying when a strong man never falters in his steadfast love for his woman. Roman is that man. The danger, the twists, the secrets, the love, and the shadows combine to create an entertaining, must-read for everyone. It’s such a good story with characters we have vicariously adored for a long time, and now they can love each other openly for the entire world to see. Good versus evil wins again; take that you horrible old uncle!

But Casing Shadows, I have no doubt my words will not be enough to describe the depth, the intensity, the accuracy with which she has revealed these characters. Our Hero and his character definitely portray a hero in ways most would never comprehend, meet Roman Riviera. Echo Team, brother to his entire Team, and devoted father and son. He’s been living a triple life, yes triple, and his carefully constructed house of cards is about to fold. And along with it his future. He’s know all along he could only serve and protect those he loved for so long. It’s time he’s paid for his sins. But his biggest regret is the loss of his teammate and love of his life, Harper Brooks. Harper is our heroine and she’s as fierce as anyone out there. Her mind is lethal along with her government background. But her weakness is Roman. And she’s about to discover just how lethal he is to her heart.

I cried, I laughed, I bit my fist, I squealed with delight... I couldn't put it down. I have (not so) patiently waited for this book knowing it would be epic and was NOT disappointed
What is done in the dark will always come to light and everyone has found themselves chasing shadows.
Power, angst, darkness, intrigue, depth, all of it is so palpable. Brittney takes you on a Rollercoaster of emotions so hang on to the edge of your seat. Harper and Roman's story is so romantic and steamy in the most unique way. This couple go and grow so much from the first page to the very end. It pulls you in and and takes over. These two are pulled in so many directions and yet like magnets bonded so strong.
I am going to be completely shattered when this series ends and yet I cannot wait to what you have planned for Finn! You have truly out done yourself with this book.
