Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, is on a mission to consume the universe's most powerful energy sources. Thor, the King of Asgard, has reluctantly agreed to serve as Galactus's herald in order to stave off an even greater threat. But when the two discover an extremely powerful, mysterious source of energy known as the Zero Point, it will take more than the mighty Thor to save reality from Galactus's deadly conquest! Prepare for an epic battle that will shake the foundations of the Marvel Universe and Fortnite!
Wow! Thor (T) as the new herald of Galactus (G)! Throw in Fortnite (F) and you have a really interesting concept! This book caught my attention because it was written by Donny Cates. When it is all said and done what DC has done with T will be looked upon as groundbreaking! Fun book - quick read - great art!
The Donny Cates Thor run is one of the few comics I've committed to hanging on to, despite the difficulty of getting the floppies because of the current global situation. I'm finding his take intriguing, with a heavy metal space opera vibe going on. This special issue is purportedly in continuity, but I fail to see how this will add to the current Galactus arc.
A fun little story. I have sons. They love Fortnite because of course they do. Actually...in a time of social isolation, I have appreciate they can use this game to interact with their friends. Anyway, we enjoy Marvel movies together. And I'm a Marvel comics nerd. But they knew of and read this book before I did!. It was fond to bond a bit over this. I'm not a gamer. I don't play Fortnite. But I must add this...in the game Thor also uses a gun. I say the nay...
This small issue sets up Marvel's entry in Fortnite so yeah, it was nice I haven't played Fortnite in a while but will try after some time.
I have always loved comics, and I hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and then just Keep on Reading.
I think the new Thor redesign is ugly and the Galactus redesign is either superfluous or ugly.
And most of the rest of the book . . . . I mean, the whole thing didn't need a book. It just needed a paragraph:
"Thor is trapped in the land of Fortnite and has called forth Marvel superheroes. But they all lost their memories just as a powered-up Galactus comes to dine on the world of Fortnite. Who will Fort? And who will Nite?"
This is basically an intro for the Marvel Fortnite crossover. I've never played Fortnite but know enough from pop culture osmosis to find the crossover amusing (seeing Thor punch the banana guy was funny). The premise is exciting though and I'm intrigued where the story could go.
Good color artwork. Marvel comics freebie. 12 pages. This would be easier to review if it was 32 pages. Galactus tells king Thor of a dark threat. Thor and Galactus travel across the Multiverse having cosmic battles. Just a teaser.Suitable for all ages.
Fortnite is a really simple game with a very bad, and poorly executed, storyline.
This little comic does nothing to improve on it.
We have Thor, now the herald of Galactus, entering the world of Fortnite. Where he meets some of the skins of the game who, like a normal Fortnite player would, try to shoot him on sight. Due to the effects of the place, Thor forgets why he’s even there and magical stuff later, the avengers arrive.
It promises it’s going to conclude in the actual events of the game, but if you played it at the time, you’d find out it played out as nothing even remotely close to what we saw here today.
Best Thor comic I've read in a decade! I'm trying to learn Spanish, so.this was a great learning tool! Thor, while trying to stop Galactus from destroying the universe, suddenly finds himself in a brightly colored distant world far removed from our own. Seeking help from his allies, Thor desperately fights to save this strange new place from the deadly Devourer of Worlds! Great plot, great action, beautiful colors and tons of fun, this comic is great for ages 8 and up who love superheroes and a stompin' good time. The only complaint is that I wish it was way longer! Kudos to the team who wrote the most fun Marvel comic I've seen in years!
I gave this one a bonus star because at some point after I had started reading this I had left it alone and then opened it up without paying complete attention to the title. So I knew I was reading a Thor comic but had completely forgotten that it was a Fortnite crossover so I felt as surprised as Thor when I saw the cat and Peely and other familiar Fortnite characters. I don't know if this story is going to get actually interesting but it's such a weird crossover that I want to give it a chance.
Not a really good combination. It seemed disjointed and didn’t really flow well. Why is a comic character going into a video game world. This shouldn’t even be a thing. So many questions that I have of this comic? I know it is Fortnite a popular video game but this just feels forced. So nope and why does galactus want to consume a video game world? I have no idea what this is and honestly have no idea how this can happen.
In Asgard. It’s been two weeks since Thor was crowned King of the Golden City in his father’s stead.
Galactus, Devourer of Worlds, shows up and claims that if he consumes enough special planets, he can prevent Winter and shadows from encroaching upon reality.
Thor uses Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard, to evacuate the inhabitants of the first unlucky planet.
A bit obfuscated—one minute, Thor and Galactus are working together; the next, Thor is warning a planet of Galactus’s imminent arrival.
1. 5 stars. Bah! A confusing crossover, a cacophony of corrupted characters carrying out a convoluted chore that cost too much for too little. Thor's new looks is actually a return of 90s Thor [not a good look] and Galactus? Don't even.
