What happens when an enchanter and a witch adopt a few kids?
I’ll tell you what: chaos… chaos and absolute mayhem. I finally got my way, I finally convinced my viramore—my soulmate—to adopt with me, but I have to admit that it isn’t exactly going as planned.
Join Seb and Ailin from The Ellwood Chronicles on a new kind of adventure when they bring three sweet kids—more like little monsters—into their family. The Enchanter’s New Kids is a follow-up of their relationship, and a sweet, fun, and heartfelt story about their kids.
Michele is married to an awesome guy that puts up with her and all the burnt dinners she makes—hey, sometimes characters are a bit distracting, and who doesn’t plot when they’re supposed to be cooking? They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with two little monsters, a three-legged princess, a four-legged goofball, and a cutie with giant ears (aka their two kids, their two cats, and their dog). She hopes to rescue another cat soon, and if her hubby wouldn’t kill her, she’d get more than one… and maybe a few more dogs as well.
She loves creating worlds filled with lots of love, chosen family, and of course, magic, but she also likes making the characters fight for that happy ending. She hopes to one day write all the stories in her head—even if there are too many to count!

Not gonna rate this because a book written about being parents is definitely not for me. I only read this to make sure I don’t miss any plot before I carry on with the series’. I do love me some Ailin and Sebastian but there’s not much here for me. I would’ve much preferred a short story of Ailin and Seb being happy in the future just as a couple but hey you can’t always get what you want.
WHAT A WONDERFUL TREAT THIS IS!! I have been in love with this world and Seb and Ailin since the first chapter of The Enchanter’s Flame. Michele Notaro has given her readers a wonderful escape. The conclusion of the series was a hard pill to swallow. The book hangover was real! So this is a wonderful gift. The Enchanter’s Kids was an amazing read. The love that Seb and Ailin have for each other has always been apparent it is amazing to be able to see how they have grown in their relationship and also how they have grown as individuals. Seb really shined in this he has come so far and it is amazing to see how he is finally comfortable with himself and how he is able to use his past to help the kids not only become a part of the family but heal and except who they truly are as well. I loved every word of this and will cherish the additional glimpse into the lives of two of my favorite characters of all time.
Oh my kids, how I missed Seb, A and the whole clan. Seeing everyone again, catching up with them and meeting the new family members was fan-freaking-tastic! A and Seb’s new kids will definitely keep them on their magical toes and fingers. “This crazy, beautiful, wonderful family was filled with more love than I ever thought possible...” So true and they’re also loud, chaotic, amazing and I wish I could be right in the middle of it. This book is full of heart, love, laughter, family and magic. An incredible series and a wonderful, enchanting return to the world of Ellwoods.
I absolutely love this entire series. Ailin and Sebastian continue to be such amazing characters. Their family is just like their hearts, there is always room for more. This latest addition to the Ellwood Chronicles is just as wonderful as the rest, highly enjoyable from beginning to end.
I really enjoyed this novella. Typically I don't enjoy shorter books because I go through them too quickly but this one wrapped up Ailin and Sebastian's story so perfectly . I cannot wait to read the spin off series next!
The Ellwood's have to be one of my favourite families and I'm so happy that we get another instalment that follows Ailin and Sebastian as they adopt three children, bringing them into all the craziness and never ending love that they could need. They are a huge, often crazy bunch but so supportive and always welcoming to those brought into the fold. It's great being back with the couple and getting to go through the process with them and then the adaption that both they and the children have to go through as they learn to trust and understand it's not a limited time situation that they've been brought into. The supernatural element also brings a couple of surprises along with the normal crisis' of raising three children aged eleven and under - Leilani, Niya and Remi. They all come with their own distinct personalities, abilities and ...... quirks. There are mishaps to keep things entertaining and so much warmth felt from all of the Ellwoods as they seek to welcome the three children to the family. Ailin did an amazing job of raising his siblings and now he's excited to do it all again with Sebastian at his side. Sebastian's nerves are endearing but his feelings shine through. He especially manages to create a special bond with Leilani when he shares his own history with her. They are, as always, so much in love and at times equally frustrated, mostly Seb with Ailin! So much fun to read and a must read for fans of the series. I would recommend reading the series in order as there is a lot of history for all of the characters and what has gone on in recent times for them all. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
I have followed this story closely and really like all the other books. I understand why this book was written. It was nice to see Ailin and Seb get some nice time, however I am not sure if this shouldn't have been added to the end of the last book. Once of the biggest problems is this book takes place after The Brinnswick Chronicles 1-3. That needed to be expressed more. From the beginning. Or I need to do a better job at paying attention.
Like I said it was nice to see them happy and not life shattering moment after moment. However it felt sort of anticlimactic and it more sets it up for possible further books maybe. It is hard to write a book with kids as the main plot points and i personally would have rather seen Ailin and Seb actually get a happy ending together being together. This book is still worth a read if you have followed the series and are deeply invested.
When I saw this book I immediately signed up for an ARC not even knowing what it was about. I love this series. I have every book and will continue to buy every book that comes out.
We learned previously that Seb and A were adopting some kids. This is the story of how these kids became Ellwoods. I love how the original plan to adopt two kids turns into three. As always if one is in need the whole Ellwood coven will help out. We get a look into the every day life of Seb and A. Their love for each other and their family is beautiful. It was great to see them have their own kids. We see surly pre teens and teething babies and poopy diapers. This was a great story. I can't wait for the next book.
Hello, all the yessssss to this book. Seb made me giggle and cough water all over the place with this book. Oh my, I have missed A. His love and care for everyone he meets. The author has a way to make you feel like your there on Coven land sitting by the firepit watching all the kids, animals, and adults go about there lives. We get to see the new kids and watch them start to love, grow, and trust. The one thing I will say is to grab a box of tissues just for a few minutes. The author has to make our hearts stop and feel like it's getting ripped out. She redeems herself thankfully. Otherwise, there might have been a mutiny on her hands. :) Just kidding I think maybe
While I appreciated the lightness and slice of life after the war, I wished for a little more action. I also wish I’d read the spinoff series first as they fit in before this book time wise. Also said timeline was off. In the beginning it said they’d been together 6 years. The war was a year after they met then three years passed before the end of the last book. This is supposed to be 2 years after that so in order for the littlest one to be a year when her mom died in the war, she would now be 6 not 4 and Jorah would be 19-20 not 18. Not huge impacting details but it threw me off and made me do math - lol.
There are not enough stars for this book. It is a nice glimpse into the world of the Ellewoods after the war and heartache of the boys being gone. I love watching thar even after so many years together the Ailin and Sebastian are still madly in love and just as much children as their children are.
If you have not read the series...then you are missing out on some tears laughter and heart stopping moments.
I'm seriously addicted to this amazing series (It's imaginative, exciting and brilliant) and Seb and Ailin are one of my favourite ever couples, so this book was a total pleasure to read! The love between Seb and Ailin is beautiful and hard won and I adored this story of them extending their family.
Yes to this whole book! I love coming back to this world and especially following Seb and Ailin's life after everything. Getting to see how they are doing with their new kids just made me so happy. This had me laughing and smiling so much. I just absolutely love this whole series. Definitely you need to read this series if you haven't yet.
What a way to end this story. It actually happens after Nicoli and Del and Gray get together. Sebastian and Ailin are awesome, all around great characters, and great fathers! The girls are so sweet and Teki is just adorable. I look forward to reading about them more when Jorah gets his book. The were awesome in Basil's story as the welcomed Rasha to the family.
This was a wonderful book a new visit with Ailin and Sebastian and the three children they adopted this book is full of love and fun if you haven’t read the whole series you are missing out on wonderful books read this book it was fabulous
I was not expecting this book since I was trying to wait patiently for Jorah’s book, but it was really so great! These guys with three totally different kids was so fun to read.
I can’t get enough of Seb and A!! They are so great together. Add three new kids to the Elwood crew and chaos follows!! I loved how author talked about some of the issues with adopting a child, and it effects everyone. I truly hope there will be more books. Highly Recommend!!
OMG this was so fricking adorable, I can't stand it. Those beautiful people adding to that big beautiful family is just wonderful. This was a wonderful peek into their lives in peaceful times and I just loved every page of it.
Seb and ailin are the best. I loved this story and the introduction to their new kids. I would highly recommend this book. Hope to read more about them soon.
Rating (All ratings use a Scale of 1-5) = 3.5 Stars
Blurb = 4.5; Very clear in letting potential readers know that this story is an "add on" and in a completely different vein.
My Genre Scale = 4? The series was right in my wheelhouse (4.5). This story is a little different from the series. It is basically a story about family and adopting kids. It just happens to be set in a world with magic etc... M/M stories with kids are about a 3.5 for me.
Odds if not your genre = If Fantasy Sci-Fi is not your genre, but stories about strong families and adopting kids are; then this should be a great read (4.5). If the reverse is true, then maybe a 2.5 unless you loved this series and these characters (3.5).
Development of: = *World = 3.5 (as a reader of the series, not sure if one does not have that background). Understanding the orphanage and what has and is going on in the Universe was expanded and developed. *Plot = 3.5 *Characters = 3
What stood out = Not much except the bond and obvious love for this established couple. Again, this story is a heartwarming story about parenting and growing families.
Mood Type / Appeal to those looking for = a strong supportive family, an established couple with strong bonds and lots of unconditional love, along with "laugh so you don't cry" growing pains trying to raise 3 adopted kids after already raising a house full.
Warnings = None HFN/HEA = Definitely
Series Notes = Add on *Reading on? N/A but do plan on reading the next series from this universe and the "Magic of Three". *Reading back to back? I did not. It had been about a year since I read the previous 4 books. *Can be easily read without the previous? Yes, I would definitely think so.
Rating Notes = (SubPlots, thoughts, etc... ) No other subplots really. For those that loved the series, it allows us to catch up with beloved characters. For those new to this world, then it provides a nice peek into a family full of love - experiencing growing pains after adopting 3 kids of varying ages at one time. It was a well written interesting peek into their life.
************** Below are my explanations or thoughts on reviewing! *************** 1. I try to take into account and note any common pet peeves often bemoaned by other reviewers 2. "Brain candy' does not necessarily carry a negative connotation in my reviews. It has its uses; to pass time whet tired, on the beach, etc... The problem is when I'm expecting a novel and I get fluff. (What is brain candy? Pure entertainment; It may be formulaic, from an author published quickly like monthly, things escalate fast, and are often solved easily etc.. Publishing industries version of pop music). 3. Blurb rating purpose: Like many readers, I do not like to think I'm reading one kind of story; just to end up with another. But...I also don't think a book should be docked stars for being as stated. If I don't like stories about "_________", and I choose to read it; I shouldn't give it 2 stars based JUST on my preferences. Unless... it wasn't clear in the blurb. 4. Other Factors that effect my perspective when reviewing: Since 2009, I have exclusively read m/m. My 1st was in 2007. I am a Kindle diehard, and I never do audio for m/m. I read at least 100+ books a year - with an average length of 220± pages; but the total number of books is usually much higher. My Goodreads lifetime rating (at the start of 2021) was a 3.64 average for 1527 books. Which considering, one should be better at picking out books the more one reads, I feel is an accurate average. I have over 795 reviews within the m/m genre here on Goodreads.
I loved reading this and seeing another time jump from the end of the first series. Ailin and Seb going to adopt two little girls, sisters, named Leilani and Niya. Seb and Ailin being nervous (yes there is banter, Seb “picking” on Ailin for being nervous even though Ailin is a dad and has done this all before) yet so excited to start this part of their life together.
They are adorable with Leilani and Niya. And then there is a little surprise! And Seb found him all on his own! Seb found Remi!!! Who they end of adopting too because Seb just knows Remi belongs with them. (I read Remi’s book before this series and I loved reading Remi being adopted and his life as a little baby)
I adored this book so much. I love the growth. The family. The cuteness and Ailin and Seb being dads together to the littler children compared to Seb coming in and parenting the older children of Ailin’s later in the older children’s lives
I expected Toby and Thay's story and got this. At the end of book 4, author said their story was next, I hate spoilers and don't read blurbs... so this installment was a surprise and the spoilers given in it about who's together before reading about how they got there, was devastating 😢 Wish I had not been told. Now what's the point of reading the kids stories when I know they'll be together in the end. Ugh!!!!... so frustrating!!!!
The story in itself is great though! I love the nee kids. 😍
Just plz take out that one section where you give the spoiler... and take out the authors note at the end of book 4, where you say that Toby's story is next, when it's not. 🙏 But thank you for the amazing world you've created!
Oh, this was great. I have not read any of the Ellwood series books but I have been reading this author’s new series with the kids and I have been liking it, I also think it gave me enough of a background to be able to know what was going on in this story (someday I will get to this series, but you know life). It was entertaining watching Seb and Ailin navigate bringing the new children into their family and all the pitfalls and minefields you have to go through. I think the kids were great and as always the Ellwood family bands together and are welcoming.
I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review
