When it comes to second chances, he won’t take no for an answer.
Kaoz Bellamy left Crossroads to ride the range. Upon his return, he finds his girlfriend gone—and she even took his custom beer tap. Worse than the fact he won’t be accessing his favorite brewski anytime soon is the realization she isn’t coming back.
Did the big jerk of a cowboy actually think Brielle would wait around pining for him, when he didn’t give any indication how he felt about her? No amount of rope in the county could tie her to that man again. But after one look at him, she finds that old flame still burns hot, his hands are just as perfectly rough…and he can still light her on fire with his kisses.
No matter how sexy and out of control their interludes are, Brielle will never fully trust Kaoz again. He claims he’ll do anything to win her back, even help out her pain-in-the-neck brother with his startup ranch. Kaoz never did see eye to eye with her family, but if he can help get her brother’s ranch on its feet, he might have a second chance with the little firecracker he loves. Working alongside him means ample opportunities to remind her how good he can make her feel too…and Brielle fears if she loses her heart to the determined cowboy this time, there might be no getting it back.
Kaoz is a good-hearted, hard-working cowboy who wants to marry the woman he loves and run their own ranch together with her. Brielle is also good-hearted and willing to work just as hard as he does, and she hash the same ultimate goal. Plus, their physical chemistry together is hot, hot, hot. So, why do they need a second chance? What went wrong the first time? Lack of communication. Lack of appreciation for the other person in the relationship. Those are 2 classic relationship killers, and Kaoz blundered both so badly he devastated her heart. Brielle ends up doing some soul searching of her own and recognizes the role she played in contributing to the problem.
This is a romance novel so the reader can have confidence that there will be some kind of happy ending. The path Em Petrova takes us on in search of it is a wonderful one. Sadness, frustration, worry, fear, uncertainty, hope, desperation, determination, sincerity, friendship, smiles and love are all there, along with enough passion to light up your Kindle. The author’s writing style really pulls you along – I started the book intending to read for an hour or so, and then actually up staying awake late into the pre-dawn hours because I really wanted to find out how it all ended.
Although this is the second book in the series, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Characters found the first book in the series make appearances here, which is always a fun thing for a reader. As soon as I finished this book I pre-ordered the next one. That right there should tell you how much I really enjoyed this story. Warning … you may end up craving an apple turnover by the time you’re done reading! Read the book and you’ll see what I mean.

Just no....Sie sagt nein, er macht weiter...just no
Was macht er also?
Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read! Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.
This was an OK read for me. I don't know if I wasnt into Kaoz as much, but the story seemed a bit flat. When Kaoz comes back from his "training", he finds that his fiance has moved out. So he searches for her, finding her at her brothers ranch, helping him when their dream had been building their own ranch. The attraction is still there and Kaoz thinks that Brielle will fall back into his arms when she realizes that the heat between them is still there, even tho Brielle says that the trust is gone. It takes time but both find the way to work together and communicate to make the relationship work. It was a good storyline, for a portion of the story Kaoz seemed to be naive, but then Brielle seemed to be so selfish thinking that Kaoz left for himself not for them. The heat factor is a definite 5.

This is book two in the Crossroads series. It’s Kaoz and Brielle’s story. I really enjoyed it but both of them frustrated me to no ends at times. They’re both very stubborn and to blame for the issues in their relationship. Kaoz thinks sorry and flowers are going to cut it this time and Brielle has finally had enough, but she also didn’t want to sit him down and explain why she was so upset. Lack of communication between the two is the root of all their problems and it takes them some time to hit on that. Brielle is to busy blaming everything on Kaoz to stop and think about the fact that she’s not innocent in the issues. It’s a well written story that will take your emotions on a bit of a trip but aren’t those the best kind of stories though?
Brielle and Kaoz were in the middle of planning their wedding when Kaoz takes off for a job that’s going to take him away from home for several months. He never talked to Brielle about it before accepting or even told her why it was important for him to go. He just assumes she understands and is on the same page. Brielle starts to feel like Kaoz doesn’t want to get married and maybe that he doesn’t really love her. After no real communication with each other Brielle finally says enough is enough and breaks up with him and moves out. Kaoz doesn’t even know she’s gone until he gets home and finds her stuff gone. Now he needs to find her first and then try to convince her that they can fix what’s wrong with their relationship and give him another chance. Is it too late to fix things?

Confident in Chaps is the second book in Em Petrova’s Crossroads series, and this is Kaoz and Brielle’s story. I’m always a sap for second chance romance, and this story highlights the importance of clear communication, remembering to lay your feelings on the line and never taking anything for granted. This is a lesson that Kaoz learns the hard way. Returning home to an empty house after a four-month absence, Kaoz realises that Brielle wasn’t joking when she said she’d waited long enough. But his sweet-talking manner and heart-melting smiles won’t suffice to win back Brielle’s heart; so when Kaoz learns that she’s moved on with her life and he doesn’t fit into her new plan, he needs a form a plan of his own.
Confident in Chaps is an entertaining read, with an easy ebb and flow to the storyline and characters that are as loveable as they are frustrating. I liked that author showed the failures of both parties in the breakdown of their relationship and that it takes equal commitment from them both to make a relationship work. Brielle for all her blustering, was far from innocent, and Kaoz forgot to talk to Brielle when making life changing decisions. Kaoz and Brielle’s story was volatile, exasperating, emotional and heartfelt, but through it all there was never any doubt that their love was a simmering flame that would easily be fanned into a blazing fire. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more in this series.

Confident in Chaps is the second book in the Crossroads series by Em Petrova. This story is about Kaoz Bellamy may be confident in a set of chaps, with or without the jeans underneath, but he sure does need to learn a few things about relationships of the human kind. At least that is what he finds out after being away for a while only to return and find out his fiancee has moved out of the house they share. It seems that while he was away learning and getting more experience in ranch management in New Mexico Brielle was back home feeling left alone. She was supposed to be planning their wedding and instead is confused about whether Kaoz even wants to get married to her. So what is a girl to do when the one she loves seems to not love her back...well move the heck out and on. So when Kaoz comes back home and is ready to get married and make the dreams they shared together become reality he is going to have to rope his little filly and fight her all the way to the aisle as she is bucking against him. This is a fast-paced, fun, witty and entertaining story. Brielle is a pleasure to read as she smart and has a "bee in her bonnet" about Kaoz. You have to feel a bit sorry for Kaoz as he really did not know what was happening. This is a lesson in communication between two people who do love each other and want a life together learning how to fight for it.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Kaoz was heading home after four months of learning from the best, a huge ranch out west. He was going home to see the love of his life, Brielle since they were to get married in a few weeks. Now, he knew she wasn't happy that he left, but he was convinced that he needed to learn from some of the best if they were to get their dream of a small horse ranch. He stopped in town, ran into his cousin Cort, bought some flowers for Brielle and went home...to an empty house. All her stuff was missing, down to her pictures, clothes, lists of wedding preparations, knick-knacks and HIS beer tap...so he had poor cell service and not been able to call more than once, but she was gone...he headed back to town to find her...which eventually brought him to her brother Beau's place. Beau bought the old, dilapidated ranch and was trying to restore it, with plans to get a barn built to board some horses for the winter, with help from his sister Brielle....Kaoz wasn't happy about the situation, but needed to do something to get Brielle to listen to him, since she let his calls go to voice mail, so he decided to work for Beau for room and board, to get things fixed before those horses came in...but you will need to read this cute story to see what happens and if Brielle finally realizes that Kaoz is the man for her...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brielle thought things were over, but Kaoz will never give up!
Confident in Chaps is the second book in the Crossroads series. When Kaoz returns home after four months of being away, he expects a sweet homecoming from Brielle, his fiancée he adores. When she moved out, she thought they were through, but Brielle has another thing coming her way when Kaoz comes to help her brother’s ranch. Both have some growing up they need to do, but will they reach the same important future goals together?
This was a great addition to the Crossroads series, and Kaoz and Brielle really stole the show with their romance. I loved that Kaoz was so determined to fight for their love, he never once gave up on them, but was also humble enough to realize when he did make mistakes and owned them. He definitely had a few things to make up for, but I loved his creativity, passion, and how big his heart proved to be. Brielle has reason to guard her heart, but I loved watching her open back up again for her cowboy. I liked how dedicated they both were to hard work, the hurdles they needed to overcome individually and together, and I loved their connection to one another. This book had the perfect feel of a second chance romance, with some angst and drama, finding the fun and spark again with your special someone, and a happily ever after that we all crave! I loved reading this book and look forward to more in this series!
Kaoz and Brielle have been apart for a few months while Kaoz is across the country learning more about ranch management. Brielle misunderstands his priorities and moves in with her brother right before Kaoz returns. The story revolves around Kaoz's attempts to win her back and get their dreams for the future back on track.
I really enjoyed the development of Kaoz's relationship with Beau, Brielle's brother. I loved the insights into ranching that Kaoz learned in New Mexico, and how he utilized that experience to benefit local ranches.
Brielle had some maturing to do before she could understand why Kaoz had to go to New Mexico in the first place, but once she started looking past her own perspective the story really took shape. I loved the conflicting messages surrounding the engagement ring, and I especially loved the resolution that followed.
Kaoz is a strong hero in this book, willing to learn from his mistakes and dedicated to working smart and working hard. This author really knows her cowboys and writes authentic, fully-developed characters. Each story has wonderful pacing and exquisite tension. I loved every bit and was glued to the book right up to the delightful HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
4.5 stars This is the second book in the Crossroads Book series and it is Kaoz and Brielle’s story. It can be read as a standalone. When it comes to relationships, there needs to be a give and take and a respect for the opinions of one’s partner. Kaoz has an opportunity to go to New Mexico to learn all he can to build the ranch of his dreams for himself and the love of his life, Brielle. Thinking that Brielle is on board, off Kaoz goes and the time passes. However, when Kaoz returns, he is in for a rude awakening when all is not right with his world and he needs to step up if he has a chance to rectify his wrong….but was he wrong? Kaoz is a strong man who is learning from his mistakes and is willing to do whatever must be done. Brielle is a woman who needs to take a step back and really listen to understand the underlying motivations of another person and not jump to conclusions without having all of the facts. She has some growing up to do. Overall, it is one jam packed storyline with a sexy cowboy (you can never go wrong with a cowboy) and that down-home feeling that just makes one smile. Author Em Petrova has managed to do it again! This is yet another book that snared my attention and left me unable to put it down until I finished reading it in one sitting. The story was written with the perfect amount of imagery and about characters so likeable, I truly felt as if I was physically present while the plot was being unfurled. Confident in Chaps is the second book in the Crossroads Series and is Kaoz and Brielle's story. These two were hot and heavy until Kaoz decided to head west to New Mexico to learn more about managing a large ranch. Thinking these skills would help him better provide for Brielle and the family they would one day have, Kaoz lost sight that he needed to nurture his present day relationship with Brielle as well. When she up and leaves him while he is away, will he be able to regain her trust and love once he comes pack into town? It would appear that Kaoz has a steep mountain to climb, but no one will keep him away from the woman he loves. There is no one more up for the challenge of winning her back than Kaoz. A definite must read!
Kaoz, Brielle, and her brother Beau were all stubborn. Kaoz thought Brielle would wait for him busy with their wedding planning that he didn't care much about while he went off and learned more about running a ranch. Beau thought he could buy a rundown ranch, deplete his savings, and fix it up the way he wanted and made promises to clients he couldn't keep. Brielle left Kaoz and she fought his helping her and Beau out even though they were in over the heads. There were funny moments and ones that just made me shake my head at the characters' foolish actions. Kaoz and Brielle spent more time getting it on than talking which led to many misunderstandings. It was funny that they were raising pigs and she couldn't slaughter any of them. I wouldn't be able to do it either. I laughed that Kaoz kept making Brielle different kinds of eggs and she didn't tell him she couldn't stand them. Beau was arrogant and came out swinging too many times. I hope he's a humbler person in a future book. This was a steamy second chance romance.
Koaz wanted to be able to provide a good life ranching with Brielle so he left and went to Mexico to learn more about it to help them. Brielle is upset because he didn't discuss this with her and left. When he comes home after being gone fir months he is stunned that Brielle has left him. He finally tracks her down at her brother's new ranch and knows its going to take time to win her back. So he offers his help free of charge to her brother. At first Brielle wants nothing to do with him but soon that changes. It looks like things are back on track when she overhears that Koaz is offered another job out of the county. Will Brielle give him a chance to explain? Will Koaz give up on them being together again?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Communication is the most important thing in a relationship, but Kaoz and Brielle seem to fail at it terribly. He went to New Mexico to learn how to run a ranch, while she stayed in Georgia to plan their wedding, but when Kaoz came home Brielle had left him. She did not understand why he had to go to New Mexico, little lone did she want him to go. They each thought what the other was doing was going overboard in what they needed. So instead of talking about it they reacted. When Kaoz returned to Georgia Brielle was living with her brother, Beau at his start up ranch. Now Kaoz was trying to win his girl back. The way he was going to do that was help Beau with his ranch at least Kaoz would be living near Brielle. Kaoz and Brielle have an electrifying relationship with many ups and downs. You never know what will happen next.

This is a superb story that is all about the importance of communication If Kaoz and Brielle had just talked to one another instead of assuming that the other understood what was happening they wouldn't have gotten into the mess that they did This is overall a wonderful addition tot his great series that is shaping up to be another winner from this very talented author
Brielle is devastated when Kaoz walks away from her and takes off across the country She moves in with her brother Beau to try to get his ranch up and running. When Kaoz returns her expects everything to be the same with Brielle something that it definitely isn't Soon he is willing to put his new skills to the test top help beau ion an effort to win Brielle back and int the process she realises why he had to leave and does a little growing up herself Can they save the ranch and can they have a future together You will have to read to see
Brielle is a woman who was hurt by the lack of caring about their future and the fact that Kaoz kept making plans without consulting her. She loves him with all her heart but yet can't seem to get past that she doubts his love for her.
Kaoz is a man who has plans but doesn't always think things through or talk to the people that matter. His plans have their best interests at heart but the lack of communication makes people doubt him. He realizes that he needs to show her how much she means to him and that he wants a future with her.
I really liked this book because it wasn't about these two meeting for the first time, first date, first kiss. These two were already in love but yet issues were keeping them apart. I loved that this book showed that relationships take work and need an open line of communication. That stories don't end after the first kiss.
Kaoz Bellamy went to New Mexico to learn more about ranch management so that he and Brielle will have a solid future. She stayed behind to plan their wedding, but by the time Kaoz returned, Brielle was gone and living with her brother. Both of them need to learn much more about communication and its undeniable value before they even think about marriage!
However, Kaoz wants his woman back and will do anything to win her over. He offers to help her brother with his start-up ranch. Will his plan work? Will she come to her senses and grow up a little? Will he learn to communicate better so that she doesn’t run off, not understanding what is behind his seemingly unnecessary actions?
Fortunately, both characters are likable and can fix their problems if they recognize them and take action. Will the wedding be on again? Grab your copy and see how everything works out.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. The second book in the Crossroads series is about Kaoz and Brielle. They are in love and getting married. Everything was great until he decided to take an opportunity away at a ranch for months. He believes that he is building on their future and Brielle will understand. She believes that he is avoiding their future and feels bewildered and hurt. Neither understands why and what the other has done until they find themselves picking up the pieces. Trust and communication are issues they have to fix if they want to have the future they dreamed of. This was a love story gone wrong then made right. I really like the characters and their chemistry in this book. I look forward to what Em brings us next

I really enjoyed reading Kaoz and Brielle's story. I really love a sexy cowboy and a strong, independent woman, and that is what you get in this book. Even though this book is the second book in a series, this book can be read as a standalone, which is what I did, but after reading it, I immediately pre-ordered the next one, because I enjoyed this one so much. As with the case in this book, communication can be a big issue with couples, but don't let it be said that people can't learn from their mistakes. They still have the passion, so they just need to improve on communication. I also really wanted a good pizza while reading it. I loved this book, so I highly recommend it.

This is a sweet second chance romance. The characters are realistic and the story tugs at your heart.
Kaoz Bellamy left his fiance for several months to go work on a big ranch to learn the business. On his return he is devastated to find she has moved out and is working with her brother to build his ranch. Brielle felt abandoned when Kaoz left and questioned if he really wanted to marry her as he took no interest in the wedding preparations. Kaoz volunteers to help her brother so he can be close to Brielle and try to win her back. After several self revelations on both their parts that get their HEA.

Kaoz might have been a bonehead for the way he took Brielle for granted in his singleminded decisions to reach his goals, but he quickly recalibrated once he returned to an empty home. I actually loved that Brielle decided to move on as Kaoz’s dismissive actions were the last straw for her. I also liked the way she decided to work hard in helping her brother with his ranch instead of acting like a weeping victim with a broken heart. While Kaoz was trying to figure out how to get back into her life, life on the ranch continued and insecurities flared within Brielle. It took a while for this obviously in love couple to get back in sync with one another, but the journey was sweet and romantic.

Kaoz left Crossroads to go learn about modern ranching techniques. While he was gone, Brielle left him and abandoned their wedding plans. She and her brother bought a ranch, and Kaoz is gonna help them turn a profit. He also intends to win her back. This is book two in the Crossroads series, and it's well worth the time spent reading. Brielle is a frustrating character, worried about what Kaoz is doing, still blaming him for their breakup. I love Kaoz, knowing that he'll do whatever necessary to earn her trust back, not afraid to grovel or admit his failings. They are so hot together - I'll never look at apple pie the same way again.

I love this author’s cowboys and Kaoz was a treat! Capable, funny, sweet, and determined to have his second chance. Their second chance. He left his home, and Brielle, assuming he could come back with no issues. Wow, was he ever wrong and Brielle was not shy about letting him know it. He wasn’t leaving and soon they were forced (well, she was) to not only work together, but live together. Again…
Salty, heated and with lots of humour, these two navigated a cowboy-infused second chance. They pushed (well, Kaoz pushed) and Brielle punched back which made this not only steamy but a lot of fun too. You can’t go wrong with Em Petrova’s cowboys and Kaoz is a prime reason why…
*I happily reviewed this story **Thank you to Booksprout
Kaoz Bellamy is back in town and it isn't the warm welcome he expected, I get why Brielle left but I also think she could have told him she was leaving even if it was just a text. In saying that I really liked how she decides to make him work to get back in her good books thanks to her brother and his need to make the his ranch succeed and offence against Beau but yeah he definitely needs help. This is the perfect book about falling back in love and learning about how to make a relationship work as well as what you are passionate about. There are plenty of laughs, eye roles, learning curves as well as crazy attraction, steamy times, great friend and family and of course a happy ever after.

This is a fantastic story! I loved every second of it. I didn't want it to end. I always enjoy reading second chance stories. I couldn't put it down. Kaoz Bellamy left to learn more about the ranching world so that he can make a life with his love, Brielle. He made a mistake though and lost her instead. Brielle was left alone and doubts of their relationship start creeping in her mind. She decides that she will help her brother make his dream of a ranch come true. Things at the ranch has pushed them to the limit. When Kaoz comes back, he will stop at nothing to get her back including working for them for nothing but food and board. Will they find their way back to each other?

Kaoz and Brielle's story has all the feels that one would expect from an Em Petrova story. Brielle, Kaoz' fiancée, is an independent woman in her own right, but she doesn't believe anymore in Kaoz' love for her. When he left for months, while working for their future, and his lack of communication with Brielle, she felt something was missing. Kaoz is a great guy, but he is absolutely clueless and doesn't realize how the woman he loves above all else is feeling. With lots of feels and problems that has plagued these two, it was very rewarding seeing how Kaoz finally opens his eyes and fights to keep the love of his life. Both have issues, but they find that communication and not giving up is the reward to their HEA. **I was gifted with "Confident in Chaps" via Booksprout and** 4.5 Stars!
Another fun offering from Em Petrova. Kaoz Bellamy (cousin of Cort) returns to town after several months hoping to find his fiancée waiting for him at home. He left to take a job on a Ranch in another state, whilst she was busy planning their wedding. Lack of communication and possibly some immaturity on both sides led to her leaving him. Some soul searching, proper communication and rediscovery of the wants and needs of the other leads to their happy ending. The story is well written, full of steam and romance and a pleasure to read.

This story does not surprise the reader in the meaning of being really good. I have by now read a few of this authors stories and they are all really good. This story is certainly no exception to that. It has a very good and solid storyline, and really fabulous characters. Of course there has to be emotions and mixed messages and all of that to spice the story up. It is also long enough that the story can give the reader a true story, not just a short cooked thing, but a real good quality story. Overall i enjoyed it very much and now I can not wait for the next story in this series!
