First off, it was very sad about what happened to the little girl.. but I just had to stop and wonder why a white woman was going through so much grief searching for her missing daughter, but she still found it inappropriate being touched in comfort by a black woman. Someone please help me to understand how you can have the same woman cooking your food, and washing your clothes, but find it dirty to be touched by one (make it make sense) I felt so bad for Kealy cause they knew in their hearts that he was acting out of fear and not guilt.. but in the end we all will see how guilt can slowly eat at your soul.
I enjoyed this very much. I could not put it down. The story was well put together for to be written in such a short time. I like the idea of telling each person's view of what they saw or how they though. My heart only wished for a different ending. I have enjoyed reading books by Edwin Page. Keep writing as I am sure you will. And I will keep reading.
I never considered searching the well. I kept thinking that someone from town kidnapped her. It was great that Lassie was with child . I didn't like that Kealy was killed with no repercussions.
