What a fantastic series this is, when you find your cheeks wet with tears you know that the author has played your hear strings!
Rosie does not like Christmas for herself, but for her daughter she knows she needs to make an effort, for those around her she knows she must make an effort, but as usual nothing ever goes smooth for the Queen of the Lost. The local sheriff is not happy that his brother has been run off out of town, his ex wife now making a future with the local minister and as far as he can tell it is Rosie's fault and is calling her a Witch (and not in a good way). Not to mention Rosie's ex husband, her daughters father (now pet tortoise) is still causing trouble, with the city police now questioning his disappearance and what exactly her part in it is (to be honest you would think the police would be glad he is gone!)
This book teaches Rosie family is about what you have and who you make it with, this is a series I cannot recommend enough it is well written and well plotted. Do Not Miss!

Such a wonderful and precious story. Full of Christmas strife, struggle, and most of all, magic. You're really going to love what comes in this book of the Mosswood series! I couldn't put it down!

This series is a lot of fun with suspense, humor, a side of romance and witchy happenings. Rosemary Bell (Rosie) isn’t necessarily a fan of Christmas, but for her daughter and new friends she’ll bring all the trimmings. Things get complicated and of course our girl ends up in the middle of it.
The sheriff blames her for his brother being run out of town, so when she becomes a suspect for her missing/murdered husband he of course cannot wait to catch her. Now we all know where her ex is… but things are about to get crazy.
Each new story is better than its predecessor as we get to know the Queen of the Lost. This story brings fresh developments and revelations about her family history. Maggie is showing signs of sharing her mother’s abilities and we see strengthening in Rosie’s relationship with Declan.
With its cozy vibe and small-town troubles fans of paranormal fiction, cozy mysteries and mid-life crisis will find this and the series entertaining.
Johanna Parker delivers a delightful narration. She offers unique voices and accents for each character. Her tone, inflection and pacing is perfectly matched to the series.

Loved it
This story is my favourite! I can relate to Rosie being not into Christmas...I find every year that it gets more commercialized. Kids aren't happy unless they get the most expensive gadgets...that is why I love Maggie's reaction to her gift!
Poor Rosie being hounded by the sheriff and he is out to get her...
Declan's relationship with Rosie makes progress and I really enjoyed reading their perfect scene...
Myles, Ben, and Tammy are the perfect friends willing to help Rosie with her sheriff problem

The downside of turning your abusive ex into a turtle is that sooner or later someone will notice they are missing and inevitably the finger of blame will point in your direction.
This book sees the further development of Rosie's magical abilities and her relationship with Declan. She finds out more about her heritage, who she is and where her magic comes from.
I love these books. They are filled with courage, love, family, magic and a few steep learning curves thrown in for good measure.

I’ve enjoyed the books in the Midlife in Mosswood series and had this on pre-order. Due to technical glitches, I wasn’t able to read it pre-Christmas. It didn’t matter, it flowed along and kept me entertained, and intrigued anyway. Rosie makes interesting discoveries, while the Sheriff launches a vendetta against her, and her ex discovers a few things for himself. It is all wrapped up in tinsel and Christmas, but it’s good to read anytime. The latest in the Mosswood series is in my opinion the best so far.

Christmas magic with a twist
The books in this series have all been entertaining but this story was especially fun. This was a heart warming story with lots of imaginative twist. Louisa West is a master author at writing a perfect heartfelt cozy with each book in this series having the right recipe.

Another Great Time in Mosswood
I love this series. The characters and story are such a pleasure to visit! The town of Mosswood, GA has such an interesting small town atmosphere. It was a pleasure to get to spend Christmas with Rosie, Maggie and Declan and the crew, and join in their shenanigans. Can't wait for the next adventure!!!

Holiday PWF
Love this series! Each book just keeps getting better. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next. This series is the first time I have read anything by this author but her writing is so good I plan on checking out more.

All I want is snow for Christmas.... (in Georgia!?!?)
It is Christmas time and Rosie is really feeling the pressure. She wants to make Maggie's Christmas extra special but, has little to no money to do so. Maggie's one request is snow for Christmas in Georgia!?!? Highly unlikely. Couple that expectation with the fact that Sheriff Holt is desperately trying to pin Randy's disappearance and possible murder on her and Rosie has more trouble than she can shake a stick at (even before she really realizes it).
I really liked this book. I'm enthralled with and invested in the characters. I enjoy the storyline and plot, it is funny, well-written and entertaining. I can hardly wait until March to see what happens next.

This book was my 100th read this year! I ended it on Christmas day and it ended my year on a perfect note! Rosie gets into some shenanigans and her new family join in on the fun. If you enjoyed the first 2 books at all you will love this one just the same, or even more! The love shared between her friends and family is heart warming and you can feel it spread to yourself as you read it. Thank you Louisa for creating such strong characters who make you feel apart of the story! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

The goings on in Mosswood are abundant from a dodgy Sheriff to Rosie causing havoc with a christmas tree. A Christmas Eve i would not want to have ! Rosie has made some true friends in Mosswood who pull together for a very Different Christmas Day- some wishes do come true.

Rosie's love strengthens as her relationship with Declan gets stronger and her love for her daughter and friends blossoms. It's hard to get into the Christmas spirit when you have been beaten down all your life. Fortunately her loving heart comes through at the end with a crescendo of love for her chosen family. Sheriff Holt tries his best to be the malicious Grinch to eliminate Rosie and her magic. I like the action, humor and romance. I look forward to the next book.

I have no problem accepting the paranormal events in the books I read. I do, however, have a problem with forcing a magical solution when simple logic would be a more rational solution. For instance, when you are put in jail for murder, and there is no dead body anywhere in sight, ask for a lawyer. You'll be free faster than sitting around waiting for magic to forcefully break you out. Just one example of illogical "realities" in this book....

Great read!
If you have not yet entered the world of paranormal women’s fiction, this series is a great way to dive in! This book is full of wonderful, complex characters and an interesting plot full of twists and turns to keep the reader interested. I highly recommend both this book and this series!

A Festive Tale of Family Secrets Unveiled and The Value of True Friendship.
Louisa West is still a relatively new-to-me author. However, this third story in the Midlife in Mosswood series has cemented Louisa as an author I want to fill my library with.
Louisa has created a wealth of characters for this series.
Our protagonist, Rosie, is surrounded by great characters. Her daughter, Maggie, boyfriend Declan, best friend Tammy, and good friend Ben. The Mosswood townsfolk are a diverse group, showcasing lots of different characteristics.
This series is my only experience of Johanna Parker’s narration.
Once again, I really enjoyed the pace at which Johanna read this story. The emotions and inflexions she used for the different scenes felt natural and brought them to life. I loved her lilting southern accent for Rosie, her daughter Maggie and the townsfolk of Mosswood. Unfortunately, what lets her down is the Irish accent she uses for Declan. It still jars on me and I don’t think the tone fits his character. Think Dick Van Dyke trying to capture the Londoner’s accent – just no – stop! Declan continues to play a major role in this series and I had to try very VERY hard to ignore Johanna’s portrayal of him. However, it didn’t distract me enough to stop me from enjoying the story as a whole.
I love the host of characters in this story.
Our protagonist, Rosie continues to grow in my estimations, exhibiting all the personality traits that I love. She’s intelligent, resilient, self-reliant and has oodles of gumption. I love Rosie’s relationship with her daughter, Maddie, and enjoyed watching the two as Maddie grows in confidence too. Declan and Tammy have become strong supporting characters. They both had their own issues to deal with in this story, but I liked how the dynamics of the friendships changed and evolved. I loved listening to how Rosie, Maggie, Declan and Tammy dealt with the challenges in this story.

I loved the mix of humour, suspense and romance, plus, there’s no life-or-death perilous cliffhanger at the end! WoopWoop! But most of all, I loved the feeling of empowerment I was left with after listening to Rosie and Tammy’s struggles and how they both rose to the challenges their lives threw at them. It was inspirational!
I’ve already got the next audiobook – Get Witch Quick – waiting in my library. I’m looking forward to finding out what adventures Rosie, Declan and Maggie get caught up in next!

cute but confusing
This was a much more fleshed out story than the previous ones and I still have questions!
The thanksgiving scene in the previous book made sense to show the burgeoning relationship between Tammy and the pastor, but what happened to their son? He’s a teenager that was publicly embarrassed by his parents marital crisis, how come Tammy isn’t mentioning her potential step-son?
Again, we got a bit of back story regarding Terry after the Halloween showdown, but somehow that translated to him leaving town completely without talking to his brother… who knew about the zapping incident?
Rosie went back to Atlanta to get her stuff, but how come she didn’t swing by the actual apartment to !pokecheck everything out? What about her “friends” maybe they saved things for her too? I can understand how traumatic that entire ordeal could be, but if you were trying to make everything decent for your first Xmas why not go all in?
Speaking of Christmas, are we supposed to believe that was Declan’s dad or St. Nick?
This was a much more fleshed out story than the previous ones and I still have questions!
The thanksgiving scene in the previous book made sense to show the burgeoning relationship between Tammy and the pastor, but what happened to their son? He’s a teenager that was publicly embarrassed by his parents marital crisis, how come Tammy isn’t mentioning her potential step-son?
Again, we got a bit of back story regarding Terry after the Halloween showdown, but somehow that translated to him leaving town completely without talking to his brother… who knew about the zapping incident?
Rosie went back to Atlanta to get her stuff, but how come she didn’t swing by the actual apartment to !pokecheck everything out? What about her “friends” maybe they saved things for her too? I can understand how traumatic that entire ordeal could be, but if you were trying to make everything decent for your first Xmas why not go all in?

Another entertaining story. There is also quite a bit of humor to keep you chuckling as you read. I really like the authors style and will probably continue with the series.
Now Rosie is quite happy. She really is glad that Tammy is becoming the best friend she could ever ask for. Her circle is really growing. As we all know, all good things come to an end. For Rosie it all goes back to Randy her disgusting ex. Declan convinces her to return to that home to see if she could get some of her stuff. She really wanted her christmas ornaments. When they arrived her stuff was on the street with not much left. Rosie was heartbroken. After returning home, she started getting hassled by the Sheriff. He accused her of murdering Randy which she didn't. On top of that it was almost christmas. When would her troubles end and then she scooped up the turtle. My favorite character is the turtle. On to book 4.
