Excellent workbook

This is not a wordy book. Most of the description of the process is in the beginning. You quickly get into figure drawing exercises. Once you have done a few the rest is just following along the pictures. After completing all 13 figure poses in the book, a beginner will be well equipped to start drawing their own poses. Or at least be able to break down any pose into a manageable sketch. This isn't the only book you'll ever need, but it is a good one to build from.

Good for Learning How to Draw

Excellent book that has easy to follow pictures of each step for how to draw different figures such as a leaping ballerina and person looking behind them. Each page also has written descriptions for how following the steps.

It doesn’t help me

The drawings progress too quickly from a stick person to completion. The only use of shapes is for the joints of the person. I don’t see how any beginner can follow along.

It’s a rather basic book on drawing. Moderately helpful. Other books cover the very same material in a much more helpful way.

Bodies everywhere

It breaks down how to draw the human form fairly easy if you aren't used to drawing full forms in motion.

Super basic and not particularly helpful on how to follow through to the end. This book is more like a bunch of worksheets thrown together. Plus, some of my pages were blank/missing.

This is a good intro to figure drawing if you can’t reproduce a figure by eye. What I mean is, if you can’t look at a person or a photo and draw outlines that are representative, this is a good book to get you started on drawing human figures. If you are trying to draw someone from the past or the future and out of your imagination, this will help you get started.

It’s nice but…

It’s nice in that the breakdown of the figures to simple lines and circles to start makes it very easy to draw and helps to build confidence. Where I’m a little disappointed is that the “finished” figures leave you with basic circles or hands and no faces. I would have liked a little more in that area. Even just a very rudimentary hand and face would have been helpful. Also, I would have liked to have both male/female examples for each to see and understand the differences in the forms. It’s not bad for what it is. Just wish it was better. My search continues.
