About Tomorrow...

I close my eyes as I hear him speak. I take one very long and deep breath hoping to calm the immediate butterflies that take flight in my stomach and hope to slow down the racing of my heart. The voice was slightly deeper but the timbre was one that was achingly familiar.

My actions did little to help, but then who was I kidding? A deep breath wasn't going to fix the effect he had on me and my body's inevitable reaction. Even the memories that would forever haunt me couldn't keep my emotions from triggering at the nearness of him once again.

I used to pray that I'd find the strength to move on from him, from the pain that the end carried, from the emptiness in my chest, but ultimately move on from—the loss of Creed Sullivan and the death of his sister, Cora.

The Sullivans had been the best part of my summers in New England.

Deep down, I knew my ache for all that I had lost was the reason I returned...

But I hadn't expected to see him again—especially not like this.

... Give me something bad!

I'm an easy to impress kind of person, especially in books. As a matter of fact, I rarely read negative reviews (always positive) before I start the book. If I liked the blurb, I will read it no matter what. But now, disappointment is seeping through my bones, and I think I'm too traumatized to ever do it again.

Note: This is a second chance romance.

Actually, I loved Abbi Glines books; from Too Far, See Breeze to Field Party series, loved them all!

About Tomorrow is the awful exception.

*Spoiler Alert*

**Big Spoiler Ahead**

***Proceed With Caution***

Lets be HONEST here. Gonna say what should I say. No offense for those who loved this book.

Drey, why didn't you like the book?

Because ...

✗ I do not tolerate cheating. Either fictional or not.

✗ I expected an emotional story, based from the blurb. But it wasn't. I've never shed a single tear. Frustration and annoyance ruled me.

✗ The book was kinda similar to Thoughtless. You mean by S. C. Stephens? Exactly! This book was just surpassingly worst.

✗ Hero was moody almost entire book.

If I had known that this book has cheating, I would never read it. But because I already finished the book, let me tell you things I extremely detested.

I hated a hero who took someone's girlfriends, wives, or partners. In their defense, they were lovers, soulmates, whatever in the past. But it's not a reason to cheat, never! I loathed the heroine. She should have ended things first before fucking someone. And she just gave up her 4 year relationship to a hero who was annoying, secretive, and a dismissive jerk! That is absolutely not a good quality for a hero who swore he loves the heroine.

"One day that girl was going to be mine, and I would never let her go."

... I liked him for being courageous and determined.

I remembered Thoughtless, I gave it 4 stars. It was a bit tolerable though because they asked forgiveness and they paid for it. Whilst, Creed punched Griff instead of redeeming his sins. Where's the fucking guilt? FYI, he punched him because he confronted Sailor for betraying him. That's the rational thing to do! If I was in that situation, I would do worse. They're fucking cheaters, show no mercy!

"I was a slut. No. I was worse than a slut. I was a cheating slut!"

... yes, you are!

This book has a massive package of cons, but it also has a few pros that I really liked. Honestly, it's Abbi Glines and her writing skills, it never ceases. One thing I loved from this author is that she can trigger her readers emotion by her words. She's a great author! The problem was she wrote a book that was not for me.

'ABOUT TOMORROW' Is a full length 'New Adult' book by Abbi Glines. Past and Present time.

❝ You're my yesterday, today and tomorrow. You always have been and always will be.❞

Jumping into this it was like that feeling of coming home after being absent for so long, because it's been years since I have read anything by this author but when I saw this making the rounds and a stand-alone I knew it was time to make my way back to her.

This tackles a few tough topics, cheating, drunk driving, suicide, drugs, so just be aware of that before jumping into this one. It’s nowhere like anything I had been used to in the past by this author, her books were generally safe reads, I have no limits but others will be just as surprised by this book as I was, it went down a few paths I wasn’t expecting. But overall it was an enjoyable read.

It all kick starts off in 2010 as a set of twins Creed and Cora made Sailor Copeland's summers so memorable when she stayed with her Gran in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The two girls were close like sisters and later on Creed and Sailor connect as teenage lovers which Cora was overjoyed about.

He was her first kiss, her first love, her first heartbreak.

Then tragedy struck when Cora committed suicide, it was Sailor and Creed who found her along with a note (we never learn what was said in the note), unbeknownst to them she had been battling depression for a while, they had been too wrapped up in their new relationship status and never noticed anything unusual with Cora.

This affected the two of them deeply, Sailor spiralled into depression and Creed cut all ties with her.

Now fast forward to 2019. Sailor's life is back on track, she's happy and settled with her boyfriend Griff of four years. She's staying with him short term until the movers move her things into her Gran's house for her which had been passed down to her upon her Gran's passing.

It's at her boyfriends apartment that she's introduced to his flatmate and his cousin who is staying there for a few days, it so happens to be that the cousin is no other than Creed.

This was the last thing Sailor wanted, they try and stay clear of each other until she moves into her Gran's house, but imagine her surprise when she learns that Creed has also moved back to his childhood home just across from her Grans place.

When it should be her boyfriend making sure she's settled in ok etc etc txt messages go unanswered for days on end, being a med student was taking up a lot of his free time, times when Griff was mean't to visit were cancelled this all led to lines becoming blurred between Sailor and Creed and before you know it all those feelings that had laid dormant for years came spiralling back. Though it wasn't without a few bumps in the road they had to get over.

About Tomorrow is Abbi Glines at her angstiest. I’ve got to be honest, I picked this up because I loved the cover and blurb and I’ve loved this authors books in the past, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. For those of you looking for that delicious NA angsty goodness, this is the book for you!

Honestly, this review will be a bit vague because I feel like the blurb is vague and there is a lot that I could spoil. This is Sailor Copeland’s story and it’s a second chance romance. One of her childhood best friends and her first love, Creed Sullivan comes back into her life after she graduates college and least expects it. Sailor’s life is going on a clear path, but now with Creed back, things get a little messy.

I like angsty books, but they aren’t always my favorite if I’m not in the right mood. This one has a lot of angst in my opinion and there were times where things got a little too much, especially towards the end, but it also gave me a lot of feels which I loved. I love high emotion reads that make you feel.

Creed and Sailor’s love story is a beautiful one about first loves and second chances, but it also has some tragedy to it. If you’re looking for a read that will keep you glued to the pages and one that’s heart-wrenching and angsty, look no further than About Tomorrow.

i loved this book up until about 90%. There was a plot twist that, in my option, came out of nowhere and added nothing to the storyline. It just left me kind of confused and dissatisfied with the ending of the book overall.

Creed didn’t just make me happy; he made me complete. Most of my life I had wandered through it never feeling like I belonged anywhere. Until Creed.

It's been a hot minute since I last read an Abbi Glines book. Her books were a happy place for me whenever I needed a good dose of teenage drama and steamy romance. And when I read the blurb to this book, I had to have it. I'm a sucker for a second chance romance and this one sounded like it had all of the feels.

If you're looking for a steamy and angsty second chance romance, this one definitely ticks all of the boxes. Sailor and Creed were childhood sweethearts and each other's world once upon a time. Then tragedy pulled them apart and even though Sailor's life moved along, she barely was able to move on from Creed. She's met a wonderful new guy and now she's moving back to the town that holds such bittersweet memories for her in order to take care of her gram's house after her passing. It's been years since she's seen Creed but when she meets the cousin of her boyfriend's roommate in their apartment, her world comes crashing down to realize it's Creed.

This story deals with some heavy subjects and I loved the grittier undertones of it. Sailor is not perfect and neither is Creed. Their love is messy and broken and riddled with unresolved pain and haunting memories. Sailor is in a happy relationship and Creed is not the boy she once fell in love with. He's darker, colder, but he's still the same caring Creed she once knew.

While this book had so many elements that I loved, there were also some things that didn't quite work for me. Specifically the flashbacks. They just didn't flow. They felt quite random and didn't blend into the story. They were also much too short to really add to the overall plot and serve as anything other than a distraction. My other quibble was the conflict at the end. It felt...blah. It just felt like the story was driving to something much bigger and impactful. It just didn't fit. It felt like a quick way to add something but it didn't deliver on the something big that the story really needed for me.

Ultimately I still did enjoy this book quite a bit and it gave me the Abbi Glines fix that I didn't even know I was craving. If you're looking for a steamy second chance with plenty of angst, this one definitely got it.

Either AG has just lost her touch or I have gone off her books. What happened to the strong alpha men she used to write? Have we become so PC about books now that she can’t even write her characters the way she used to? Even her unsafe books had a lot more passion then the new ones she writes now!

I stayed up all night waiting for the release of this book & then I continued to stay awake reading it. Honestly, I am disappointed. I miss the writing Abbi Glines had in her Sea Breeze and Rosemary Beach series. This was...subpar. Everything felt rushed and overly explained. We knew how it would end and everything was predictable.

I did not like Sailor. Sailor was this helpless, privileged girl who felt like the world was against her. She faced this trauma in her life after losing her best friend to suicide and her first love when he cut her out of his life. She became dependent on Griff. And Griff...he had no personality. I have experienced med school and have friends who are in med school. Yes, there are long nights of studying and time does seem to run away from you. But Griff was this two dimensional character who believed he was devoted to Sailor. And when he came to her house to beg for her forgiveness (after she cheated on him?!?) he began to mansplain her. So I didn’t like Griff either.
But back to Sailor. She willingly cheated on her boyfriend and even though there were lines that demonstrated her guilt, she wasn’t actually feeling guilty. She was lust driven and even said herself that if Creed just wanted a friends-with-benefits hook-up she would’ve cheated regardless of the situation. And then she started calling herself a “slut” and a “whore”? I absolutely hate when I have to read about a woman degrading herself because of male preconceptions. She did cheat but she wasn’t sleeping around with multiple men, she was losing herself in her first love in a sexual manner.
Even Creed. Creed also had no personality. He just continuously claimed that he was in love with Sailor over and over. Okay, we get it. I wish there was more of a build-up to their reconnection but instead there was the cheating and the lying.
And the flashbacks were irrelevant. It would’ve been better to play out the entire past scenes towards the beginning of the boom rather than having this dual POV. I really learned nothing about the characters through the flashbacks because it highlighted events that we could easily infer how those scenes occurred.
Also, it just felt like we threw in the fact that Creed was a musician and it really didn’t add anything to the story that Sailor was related to a famous country singer. It would’ve been better written as a “boy-next-door” love story where the two reconnect after their tragic past. We didn’t need the glitz and glam of fame.

This was very difficult to read because I have fond memories of reading Abbi Glines books. This may be one of the worst one’s I’ve read by her so far but I couldn’t even get through Cursed Souls. I’m upset with myself because I really wanted to like it but there was nothing to like about this book. I may be done with reading books by Abbi Glines and I’m truly upset about that.

Creed shook his head with a scowl. “Son of a bitch,” he muttered. I liked Griff’s mother and she wasn’t a bitch, but I didn’t think that was the point to his cursing. I kept my mouth closed and waited.
(I- is she for real)

My rating: 3.5 ✪

“About Tomorrow...” by Abbi Glines was one of my most anticipated reads of 2020. I've been a fan of her books for eternity now, so it goes without saying I was super excited to read this one from the moment it was first announced.

That being said, the second part of this review would include my rant over Sailor (Griff, or as I kept reading his name- Cliff) and... Creed.
description
Like, I love Abbi, but I have some things to say.

PART 1 (spoiler free):

I'm left with mixed feelings after finishing “About Tomorrow...”, on one hand it was written in Abbi's usual style, which means you won't be able to put the book down until you're done, but on other- it sadly lacked depth at times (often), didn't focus on the important things and failed to establish a proper connection to the main hero. I definitely think the fact the book was only written in Sailor's POV (except for the last chapter that was in Creed's POV) contributed to that, not to mention the heroine's love for the hero was indeed questionable (lust yes, love not so much, but more about it in the section that would include tiny spoilers).

PART 2 (incl. jokes for keeping my sanity intact; will discuss minor spoilers & quotes for context):

Firstly, I'm so done with Sailor(s) as main heroines for the next 10 years, first Sailor Brennan (The Hunter), now this one. # ngl I had bad flashbacks to The Hunter anytime people said the name in “About Tomorrow...”

I will begin this by saying that as much as I love the cover of “About Tomorrow...” I can't help but ask: " what does it have to do with the actual plot/story? Because for the life of me, I can't figure this out. That kind of scene (Sailor walking in the pouring rain, barefoot, wearing only tiny shorts and top, on some random road) never took place in the book, what's even worse: not only is Sailor never seen wearing anything remotely close to that, 97% of the book takes place during autumn & winter in New England with Sailor freaking freezing all the damn time and wearing the warmest clothes she can find.
I loved the winter atmosphere, the cozy outfits, why not have that on the cover...

Now, onto the real rant.

I can't say I liked Sailor as a charater: I was fine with her at the beginning but the more I read of her thoughts the more I started to dislike her and her mindset.

(For context: Creed is Sailor's first love, his twin sister killed herself so he pushed S away and never spoke to her again. Six years later Sailor has a boyfriend (Griff), who she absolutely worships for "saving her" after Creed broke her. Griff is in medical school and lives with Creed's cousin).

I'm not exaggerating when I say it felt like Sailor gushed 1000 times more about Griff and his holiness than she ever spoke about Creed, her actual love interest in this book.
Not only is she absolutely fangirling over her (ex)boyfriend anytime she can, she time & time again refused to trust Creed & always thought the worst of him. She avoided talking to him about her trust issues like the plague.
Sailor:

"That decision had been made already and Griff was no longer an option. However, I wasn’t sure Creed was either. I loved him, but I didn’t trust him."

"I knew Griff wouldn’t lie to me. There had been a female on Creed’s lap last night. Loving Creed wasn’t enough. I had to be able to trust him as much as I had trusted Griff."
(She really blindly trusted her ex, that clearly wanted to get her back & would have said anything to make Creed look bad. Creed's other cousin was sitting on his lap to keep the fangirls away because Sailor didn't go to the bar herself.)

"There was no way that he had changed his path to move in next door just to be near me. His feelings didn’t run that deep. If they had, he wouldn’t have walked away so easily. Griff had fought for me. He’d tried. Creed had done nothing. That was not a man who gave up an amazing opportunity and stayed in Portsmouth, NH."
("CREED HAD DONE NOTHING", you say? Calling people to deliver you wood for the fire? Calling people to fix stuff around your house because winter is close? Staying over on your couch because he couldn't lock your door from the outside and was worried to leave you like that while you recreated Sleeping Beauty? I could go on & on.)

You know the Second Lead Syndrome that sometimes happens in books/shows & the rival is actually quite likable and you understand why the heroine might go for them? Yeah, none of this applies to Griff.
Sailor would constantly talk about how good of a boyfriend he has been, how much he loves her, how perfect he is... yet all we actually see from him is Griff being super indifferent towards his girlfriend & not giving any fucks about her job/her moving to a house on her own. Sailor literally begs him to come visit her for weeks. He constantly avoids her calls & texts her one word answers. Anytime Griff would blow her off Sailor would excuse it all by telling us how he's sooo busy with medical school & how she should "get over it" and not be a "needy" girlfriend.
Even after getting together with Creed, Sailor kept ranting about Griff, her holy savior, that can never, ever do anything bad, the person that would never, ever lie to her. When Creed shared his opinion on how her boyfriend ignores her & her feelings, S immediately got angry and told us how he has NO RIGHT to judge sweet, kind Cliffy.

"I felt sick to my stomach. I was lusting over Creed and wanting to have sex with him again, not even considering Griff. My sweet, kind savior who loves me. I’d betrayed him. Last night I should have stopped things because of Griff. But I’d been too damn crazed to have Creed inside me to think of anything else."

“I know exactly what you thought , Creed. But no. I cheated on Griff with you. Sweet, kind, loving Griff who would move mountains for me. I chose you. Not my brightest moment,
(At this point I honestly wanted to slap the ish out of Sailor.)

Remember how Sailor keeps insisting she absolutely CAN'T TRUST Creed? All because he used to go out with random women when he was SINGLE? Yet, here she is actively cheating on her sweet, kind Cliffy with "trashy" Creed. What a downgrade poor Creed is.

Wanna know what was the last straw?
After being together with Creed for weeks she finally went to his show in a bar & once Griff showed up there all drunk & tried to publicly humiliate her & Creed by making a scene and asking crude things, Sailor actually had the audacity to get angry at Creed for hitting the douche.
When Cliffy conveniently passed out from the booze and being punched to Mars and back, our great heroine decided to go home with the cousin & Griff, so she can "keep watch" while he sleeps in case he got a concussion.

And she just expected Creed to get over that. To just be okay with her choosing to go watch her ex sleep, all worried for his health.
Oh, and Creed's cousin also took Griff's side. So loyal, my man.

My problem with the writing:
The second part (starting around 56% or so) of the book felt so rushed, Sailor went from gushing over Griff to cheating on him out of the blue. There was no bild up of tension between her and Creed, no close calls, they simply hooked up at one point and kept doing it from that moment on despite her already being in a relationship. Sailor would go from feeling like trash for cheating (calling herself "a cheating slut") to being too horny to care.
I was desperately hoping for chapters from Creed's POV just so I can get a break from Sailor's brainwashed ramblings about Griff and actually see what kind of person the hero is. Sadly, all I got is one chapter from when he was young at the very end when nothing mattered much anymore & Sailor was already on my sh*t list.

When it came to conflicts, “About Tomorrow...” had none. I refuse to count painfully obvious red herrings about Creed cheating as conflicts. Towards the end I couldn't understand how and WHY Creed suddenly slipped into the role of the reckless hero that gets drunk the moment the heroine upsets him so he thinks he sould go for a ride while shit-faced.

I wish we saw more of Sailor & Creed being a couple, doing anything else outside of the bedroom. There were so many possibilities, like them spending Christmas together. Anything to show us that what they have is love and not just lust.

“About Tomorrow...” is a book that had potential and still sucks you in despite the infuriating characters. The heroine's love for the hero is absolutely questionable, she's more obsessed with her ex and how perfect of a boyfriend he was. It's all she can think and talk about. Sailor never sees anything wrong with Griff despite him ignoring her, insulting her and provoking Creed. The hero is always the one that can't be trusted, always the one that has no right to get jealous or judgy.

I would only recommend this book if you have nerves of steel, aren't bothered by cheating & heroines that beg to be yeet-ed off this Earth.

I wanted to love this book so badly.

3.5 ⭐'s

I haven't read an Abbi Glines' story in quite a while and I guess I was missing a Rush-like character so I thought I would give this a try. And for the first ninety percent, I was glad I did.

Creed and Sailor spent the summers together when she visited her grandmother. Sailor became best friends with both Creed and his twin sister, Cora. As time went on and they grew up, Creed and Sailor began a relationship and everything was amazing until something horrific happened.

Now, Sailor has graduated college, her grandmother passed away leaving her the house and she's in a good relationship with a medical student, Griff. They're from Nashville but moved up north and Sailor is staying with Griff and his roommates for a few days. That's when Creed come in, he's one of the new roommates.

Sailor is floored. She went through quite a lot when things ended between her and Creed. She even needed counseling and Griff to heal.

And things are fine...at first. It isn't until she moves into her grandmother's house that everything starts changing. She's learning to live with the cold and she gets her dream job but the distance between her and Griff physically and emotionally is taking their toll.

I heard a lot about other women in this book and while Creed "dates", there's never really anything in front of Sailor. If you want to know about cheating - .

However, NONE of that is consequential compared to what goes on in the last ten percent. WTH??!! Something like that coming out of left field with so little time left in the story was just wrong no matter how things worked out. And even though I'm not a fan of that plot line, I wouldn't have minded it if it was earlier in the story.

Overall, everything worked out. I did think it ended a little oddly and I don't think the explanation over the split was adequate.

omg I ended this book laughing. AT HOW RIDICULOUS IT WAS. I'm just... disappointed. This was a mess. It was all over the place. It started out okay. I was intrigued and the prologue gave me butterflies, but soon they were squashed. The 1.5 stars is because I liked the prologue and before the cheating(oh there's cheating here) things weren't that bad, I just wanted more romance. I apologize for the typos!

¡¡SPOILERS AHEAD!!
I'm gonna spoil the shit out of this cause I'm feeling A LOT.

The story

Heroine whom I don't remember her name... has a boyfriend and is moving near him after college. She got her grandma's house after she died and that's where she had spent her teen summers with Creed and Cora (twin siblings) that lived next door. A tragedy happens when they are 17 so they lost contact after that. In present day, she stays at her bf's apartment for a few days where we meet Chet, the roommate and his cousin Creed. (yep, same Creed). They act like they don't know each other and blah blah blah. She was just horrible. Like well, not horrible but damn girl, learn to be alone. She starts with a boyfriend, literally cries for him like half the book cause he is all busy with medical school. When I say half the book, it's literally half the goddamn book. There isn't any romance between Creed and her until HALF THE BOOK. As soon as Creed makes his move, she gives in and CHEATS on his nice but busy boyfriend. THEN, she sleeps with Creed TWO more times BEFORE she even thinks about calling her boyfriend. Her NICE boyfriend. He doesn't answer, so what does she do? SHE STARTS A RELATIONSHIP WITH CREED. That isn't even a relationship as it's still without a label. Give me a break.

Then she ends up breaking things off with Griff (the bf) over the phone and proceeds to be happy with Creed for like a week. Then when Creed leaves for work, Griff comes to try and save their relationship only to leave after he says he saw Creed with someone else. The girl starts to doubt everything and when Creed sees her the next day and she says that Griff came, he says:

"oh well, I'll give you some time to think things through, BUT I won't beg like him"

AND LEAVES. LIKE DUDE WTF!!!
(background story: Creed left the girl (SAILOR OH THAT'S HER NAME!), she left SAILOR after they found Creed's twin sister dead over 6 six years prior. She had overdosed over pills because of depression caused by a raping incident.)

So this guy, has the nerve to say "I won't beg" after having sex with this woman. Who is feeling guilty as fuck, is needing some time to think, who he claims to love and whom he had already left in the past. Nah. You fight my dude. He didn't fight. So what does he do? He just disappear for days and A FUCKING WEEK LATER brings a girl home. A WEEK. Then Sailor is all crying and shit and Creed goes to her house (oh yeah, they are neighbors because Creed went back to the house next door) and says " I didn't sleep with her" and leaves. Uh... okay? whatever.

Then things happen, they get together again, which by the way was awful. Creed LITERALLY says "it's only been you" and Sailor's says okay! and that's it. LITERLLY THAT'S IT!! Not anything about "what did you do" or "why did you bring ANOTHER WOMAN" no no no, she says NOTHING. The girl Griff saw with Creed was his cousin btw.

And a few weeks later they see Griff in a bar. Griff is WASTED and start saying things a normal heartbroken drunk guy would say and Creed overhears it and punches him. Sailor feels bad and gets mad with Creed, so she goes with Chet to help watching Griff overnight. Sailor leaves Creed after saying "We will talk tomorrow". At that moment I just knew what was gonna happen. It was obvious as fuck. So, the next morning Chet tells Sailor there has been an accident and that Creed's car has been found, but he wasn't. That after they left he got drunk af and drove. She then thinks he is dead and blah blah blah (I wasn't crying in case you were wondering). 72-hours pass (or was it 42, idk don't remember) and he appears. Apparently he slept in a boat in the docks after drowning his car in marsh and when he woke up he was deep in the sea on the work trip the boat guys were doing. He hadn't been able to come back until right that second. Didn't have a phone and the boat guys didn't have service in the water.

Then it's over. Literally. The book ends with a throwback in Creed's POV (the first in the whole book) from when they were teens and he is talking with Cora about how much he loves Sailor. And THAT'S IT. SEE THE RIDICULOUSNESS?!?!?

Some weird things to point out
Creed moving situation was weird. He moved with his cousin cause he wanted to try out being in a band, but when Sailor leaves like 4 days later, he leaves, too. Literally 4 days after he arrived. And then he is into architecture and shit and in college and I'm...just... confused. Also, he never touches a guitar after the beginning but Sailor said he was sooooo into that as teens. YET we never see a flashback of him playing. Also making him appear with different woman at the beginning was unnecessary as fuck. And ALSO, SAILOR AND CREED NEVER TALK. They have short SHORT conversation about their past, but they literally NEVER sit down and talk about their feeling or their past. Nope. Nothing.

Another thing. The dad. HAHAHA I JUST... omg. So, Sailor's dad is a famous country singer (didn't see the point of that but whatever) and he visits his daughter a little before Thanksgiving. She spills everything and tells him about the TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE she went through when she found her best friend DEAD from suicide. And what does the dad replies??

“Dad let out a low long whistle. “Damn, honey. That’s tough.”

And proceeds to ask her about the guy, LIKE WHAT HAHAHAH. I can't.

ALSO OMFG. Griff was with Sailor for FOUR YEARS. 4 YEARS. FOUR. And they NEVER have sex. HAHAHAAHA YEAH OKAY.

The dual timeline was weird. The throwbacks into their teen years didn't add anything and idk. It was messy.

My conclusion
I haven't read anything from Abbi since the 3rd or 4th book from The Field Party series cause I wasn't liking her writing and the stories just weren't it. It was miss after miss with her. I gave this a chance cause the synopsis intrigued me, but nope. I guess I have finally outgrown Abbi Glines. I'm sure I can re-read a few of her that I like but new stories in the future?? No, thank you.

P.S. the cover doesn't make any sense. The whole book the girl is freezing her ass off as the book is only from October-December (of the same year).

I'll leave another quote that I just.. no.

“Creed shook his head with a scowl. “Son of a bitch,” he muttered. I liked Griff’s mother and she wasn’t a bitch, but I didn’t think that was the point to his cursing. I kept my mouth closed and waited.”

lol. i'm done. if you read all of that, props to you. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

I don't know why I keep doing this to myself -- but thankfully this time I didn't put $9.99 into another torturous mistake. Kindle Unlimited is about the best thing ever!

Quick read -- not much to think about -- nothing challenged me or made me doubt or plead or even care how this story would end. I didn't have a favorite character or cheer for a happy ever after. Bah! Humbug!

There was a time when I liked Glines' work. Then all of a sudden, it seemed she just went off the tracks. The plots became same old/same old and boring, the characters lost their spark, and nothing has changed. Her writing has become stagnant and dull.

All her books feel like I've read them before. It's like she uses the same formula with every story. The outcomes are always predictable from the get-go. It leads to boredom for a reader. I think I'm ready to finally just give up, call it quits and admit that her books just aren't working for me.

I thought this was okay. There were parts that really grabbed me -like the chemistry between Sailor and Cade, and the addictive angst. But I dont think the dual timeline was very effective here, yes it gave of glimpses of their past romance to help inform their shared history but there just wasn't enough to be impactful. I also think the final tension shot before the resolution was such a lazy gimmick and just made me roll my eyes instead of being invested in the story.

Wow! The angst in the last quarter of the story had my heart beating double time!

I liked this story of Creed and Sailor and all of the obstacles they had to endure in order to get to their happily ever after. But there were times that I thought Creed got off to easily with some of the stunts he pulled. Sailor should have made him work harder to prove his love and called him out more on some of his actions.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't my favourite Abbi Glines book. Sailor and Creed have an interesting past which all comes back the moment that Sailor's boyfriend moves into his new apartment and she discovers that the roommates cousin is Creed.

It was a bit of a predictable story, but there was good character development for Sailor. We didn't as much of Creed as I would've liked, I think his POV would've added more to the story. The characters were all likeable, even the ones we weren't really supposed to like at times. It flowed well and was easy to read.

There was a lot of push and pull and miscommunication which was a bit frustrating at times, especially the whole Sailor and Griff thing.

In the end it was a fairly fast and overall easy book to read.

4 1/2 Stars for this heartbreaking romance!

This story just broke my heart! I just loved Cora ... she is just a good person, always giving ... but not getting much in return. Then there's Creed ... at first, I thought he was a jerk and then I would like him, then he was a jerk, then I would like him ... I kept going back and forth. This story is told from Sailor's POV ... and I wish that I could have gotten into Creed's head to see why he did the things he did. This is a quick read that I would recommend.

Sailor spent summers at her grandmother's house and with her best friends ... twins Cora and Creed Sullivan. Until the summer when they were 17 ... the summer everything changed. Cora died, Creed vanished and Sailor's life would never be the same. Six years later her boyfriend is going to Boston for medical school, so Sailor decides to move to her grandmother's house, because it's only an hour away, instead of staying in Nashville. But while staying with her boyfriend till her things arrive, she runs into Creed and all those intense feeling for him come rushing back. But Creed isn't the same person ... life and circumstances have changed him.

The wait for a new Abbi Glines books was well worth it! She delivered a phenomenal read!

About Tomorrow was beautifully captivating. There was so much feel and hope written in this book that you can feel it fully in your heart. This was a second chance romance that was a great story line. The characters, Creed and Sailor, are relationship goals to the max. Sailor is such a strong woman that is caring and kind. Creed is selfless when it comes to Sailor. He is the exact type I know I wish for in a guy. They have to overcome their difficult past together while Sailor also has to deal with her present. This book was powerful in the events that happened. It shows you should take part in even the hardest conversations in your life. It gives you hope for a better tomorrow.

You know its gonna be a good book when you get butterflies just when reading the prologue! I am continuously wowed by Abbi Glines work. I will forever be a fan of her writing. I definitely recommend this book. This is such a strong book that everyone should read it.

Great book! It is a very well written story. It was very suspenseful at the part where Creeds Jeep was found in the water; it was as if I couldn't put it down! Definitely recommend!

I thought this was an amazing book. I think it has jumped up to be my favorite book Abbi has written. It was very easy to read, and very hard to put down. I felt the characters and situations were very relatable and that made the story feel more real and less like fiction. The only "negative" thing would be that a trigger warning might want to be added for suicide/mental health. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book.

I love the way this author writes, her characters and the stories!

About Tomorrow is a tale about two lost souls, who once loved each other, brought together again by fate.

Abbi strikes with charm and full of feels. Sailor and Creed were the characters that hooked me from the beginning. Their chemistry driped from the pages. I adored how real they were with each other and how they understood one another so fully. They were more than I could have imagined.

Sometimes a book grabs you by the heart and doesn't let go. About Tomorrow felt vulnerable, real, emotional and enchanting.

About Tomorrow felt like home.

A modern day Nicolas Sparks, The Notebook.

From the first chapter I was intrigued. By chapter three I was hooked. With each chapter I read I fell more and more in love with these characters. Life happens, even the ugly parts can change a person for the good.

Sailor is the daughter of a famous Nashville country singer. You would assume her life was all glamorous, but all Sailor longer for were summers at her grandmother’s home in New England with her two best friends, Cora and her twin brother Creed.

But life can be cruel as Sailor finds out at 16 and with Cora and Creed no longer in her life she had to fight her way back to reality.

Insert six years, a hot med student boyfriend and Sailor is back in the Boston area with new heartache and a home left to her by her late grandmother. Her grandmother’s home had always been the place she felt the safest and more like home than any other place she had traveled in the world. But can living their without her beloved grandmother and risk seeing her ex be too much for Sailor?

“As a little girl, I’d loved playing with him, and as a teenage girl, I had fallen in love with him.”

Creed and his twin sister Cora could not wait until summer time when Sailor arrived at her grandmother’s house. Over the years, Cora’s best friend had turned into the one girl Creed couldn’t live without. Ice cream cones became stolen kisses and much, much more. So why after on major event did Creed turn his back on Sailor and never look back?

“I loved you. I loved you so much it destroyed me. Losing you shut me down, my life no longer felt worth living. The darkness that surrounded me after what you did to me was so bad I didn’t recognize myself anymore.”

Either life is a cruel bastard or and evil genius because Sailor’s return to Boston will test both Creed’s and Sailors’s sanity, morals and heart.

“I stared outside and accepted the fact I wasn’t going to be able to stop this. Creed Sullivan was worse than any drug.”

I give this book five page turning, attention grabbing, soul searching stars.

I have always loved Abbi Glines stories. I’ve read almost all of her series. Too Far, Sea breeze, Rosemary Beach, The Vincent Boys, you named it. But I had so many issues with this one.

I can’t tolerate cheating for starters. Although I was even willing to overlook this here as the boyfriend never called, never had time for her or went to visit her once since she moved out. And if you don’t give your girl attention someone else (gladly) will.

But that also doesn’t mean she had to end things with him the way she did. I really didn’t enjoy how she treated the guy after she cheated on him.

I also couldn’t feel any chemistry between the main characters.

It makes me sad to say this, because I used to love this author in the past but it seems she had lost her touch. I read a few of her recent works and they’ve been just meh for me. Maybe I’ve outgrown AG books…

It’s been a while since a read a book from Abbi and this was really good, it had a lot of angst and I just love second chance romances.

Sailor and Creed were friends and lovers when they were younger but after a tragedy they didn’t see each other in six years and their meeting resurrected all the emotions they had before, so we read about them after that meeting and how they get closer while living in their childhood’s homes. Their steamy scenes were the best and their chemistry was really hot.

The book is not too long but I really enjoyed it and the characters were amazing too.

About Tomorrow by Abbi Glines is a beautiful second chance love story, and my first book by this author. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. There are a lot of twists and turns that kept me reading. About Tomorrow feels like a roller coaster ride of emotions. I was so touched by this book, at times I found myself holding my breath. If you love second chance romances, I strongly recommend this book. I will be reading more books by Ms. Glines.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Sailor and Cora were best friends growing up, they spent the summer holidays living across the street from each other. Sailor’s parents work in the entertainment industry and have very busy lives so every summer she goes to stay at her grandmother’s house.

Cora has a twin brother called Creed and as they all got older and crossed the bridge of adolescence, Sailor developed a huge crush on Creed. This eventually grew into mutual love for both of them and they began exclusively dating each other. Until that last year of school when Cora tragically passed away. Creed never spoke to Sailor again.

About 8 years later, Cora has been to college, graduated and recently fallen in love again. She is set to move back into her late grandmother’s house and look for a permanent museum job. Her boyfriend Griff is attending med school and living a few hours away but she is keen to help him get settle first before she part ways for a while.

Cora is horrified to come face to face with Creed for the first time since that fateful day in summer. He is temporarily staying at her Griff’s apartment. All those memories come rushing back and just being around him has her completely off kilter. The thing she wants to know the most is why he cut her off so easily, leaving her broken hearted and damaged for so many years. However, the last thing she wants to do is bring up the past and have Griff know the history between them.

Before too long Cora moves into her new permanent home. She has a lot of stuff to sort through and few new skills to learn, like lighting a fire. When Creed comes knocking on her door she is shocked to see him, what the hell is he doing back in his old hometown and does this mean he is back for good? What does this mean for her relationship with Griff?

Been a very long time since I read a story from Abbi and this was on sale so why not? I guess this could be summed as a second chance romance for high school sweethearts but there is a lot more to this story than that. Once I started reading I just kept going, it was very easy to read, the only thing I didn’t like was the final plot twist. I just didn’t think it was necessary at all and it felt like it was thrown in to add some drama. That’s just my personal opinion though.

I love Abbi Glines and when I seen she was releasing a new book I was so excited! I devoured this book so quickly, it was unputdownable! I love a story that has you hooked from the very first page!

Creed and Sailor were childhood sweethearts and lost touch after suffering a tragedy. Some years later they reconnect but they have grown up, Sailor is dating Griff. When Sailor and Creed grow close again all the feels come back. I loved getting little snippets of their past it explained so much about why they grew apart.

If you love a second chance romance with some heartbreak then I would definitely recommend this book!

Abbi freaking Glines!

First of all she never fails to amaze me. I devour her books. The characters, backstory, love and drama make them impossible to put down. She is just that talented with words!

This book should be 10 stars, hands down.

So, Sailor grew up in somewhat in the spotlight. Her dad is a famous country singer. Her mother is a self centered and more concerned about herself than her daughter. All she ever had was her summers with Gran and her best friends, twins, Creed and Cora. As they got older the friendship between Sailor and Creed morphs into more then tragedy strikes.

Fast forward six years later and Creed and Sailor are forced back into each other's lives. The problem is she has a new boyfriend, one that saved her from the darkness after Creed left. However, things between Creed and Sailor are far from over. The problem is will history repeat itself?
