It is my first time reading such an informative book on a particular body disorder or rather an extremely painful and deadly disease. In the book ' The Man Who Defeated His Death ' , author Vastav presents us a detailed account of the recovery of his father Mr.Nandalal who got diagonized with Meningitis when he was only 38years old and later the reason came out to be his advanced staged anal Fistula formation that was declared untreatable. Belonging from a low middle class economy it was difficult for them to get expensive treatments. When doctors declared he only had 2-3 months Mr.Nandalal decided to started his journey to acquire detailed knowledge on Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Ayurveda, different herbs and their application. A vigorous study in each of these arena of medicine along with experimenting each on his own body while starting a positive change in his lifestyle through particular diet practice, regular exercise, maintaining sleeping and body posture ,etc after a lot of hardwork he saw gradual betterment in his condition. He defeated his early death. He being a very kind hearted skillful person has helped many to recover as well. In this book even few of his failures are also mentioned. I truly appreciate that the author has put such great effort to include their intensive research with science backed facts along with reference to different books , medicines available in the market with tables , diagrams , illustrations making it easy to understand and refer. This book will definitely prove to be an excellent guide for people who are looking forward to understand this particular disease and take necessary steps for themselves or someone who is suffering in their vicinity. _______________________ Anal fistulae originate from the anal glands, which are located between the internal and external anal sphincter and drain into the anal canal. If the outlet of these glands becomes blocked, an abscess can form which can eventually extend to the skin surface. The tract formed by this process is a fistula. ••••••••••••

Sometime back I met a priest who was willing to tell me my death date just by reading my forehead. ‘No’ I said, I was not willing to know my d-day as I did not want to count my life backwards and live each day in terror. Nobody wants to die soon and everyone wants to live a peaceful disease free life no matter whether it’s a priest or a doctor telling, you have less time to live. Our hero in the story was on the other hand was curious to know how much time he had in hand.
This is a story about a good, soft-heart man named Mr. Nandalal also authors father who fought against a deadly disease. I have seen people giving up because of two major reasons- 1: they do not want to suffer and 2: they do not want to trouble the family with a financial burden but this is different as he did not give up. His children were quite young and parents were old and he lived in a small house with a leaking roof and made of asbestos sheet and bricks when this disease called ‘MENINGITIS’ hit him hard. His economic condition was so meager and thus could not afford to consult a professional medical practitioner so he was eager to read books to learn about different diseases, along with the basic home treatments to treat himself. He was so courageous that, he never gave up, under any difficult situation, the fighting nature, which was the main attribute of his life. At that time doctor suggested him he had 2-3 months of life ahead. He not only cured himself but also during the study of various root causes of all the diseases, he found the medicines to cure authors mother’s gastric issues, his sister’s asthma and his aunt’s intestine problem and many other peoples diseases were later cured by him. His practise included homeopathy, Ayurveda and food habits. He further instructed the patients to confine themselves strictly to vegetarian food. The use of spices, smoking, consuming alcohol were completely abandoned.
Story is very well described and even minute details have been taken care off by the author especially colourful pictures of the human body, self explanatory Meningitis disease and Anal Fistula diagram, potassium permanganate treatment, hand paintings done on the saree, camera repair and dismantle pictures, bike, pictures of great leaders like Gandhiji, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Homeopathy medicines, cause of constipation etc... the list of pictures go on at the end of each chapter.
I can write a lot about this book as it’s so interesting but I want to leave some parts to the readers discretion too.
This book is a biography of Mr Nandalal, the author’s father. Mr Nandalal suffered from haemorrhoids for most of his life. As the author was in a lower-middle-class family, they did not have the money to treat it. This book is set a good thirty years and then surgery was very expensive I guess. This chronic medical condition developed into a ‘Fistula’. A fistula is an unnatural tunnel that is formed to drain out pus from the infected area. This cannot be cured via medicine and has to be operated on. Again this was not an affordable solution to Nandalal. Over time the condition worsened to the point that doctors gave Nadalal two to three months to live. This is where the protagonist starts to research the disease and actively wanted to cure himself. The protagonist extensively read about Homeopathy, its basics of 12 tissue salts and applied the learning on himself. This caused the infection to go down and the fistula started to re-grow into the tissue. But he was not entirely happy as this had not cured him of haemorrhoids. In his learnings, he encountered Auryvedic teachings that constipation and the accumulation of waste in the human body is unhealthy. Therefore he started treating himself with ‘Enema’. Enema is filling the anal canal with lukewarm water to flush out any residual waste deposited in the rectum. This technique majorly improved his disposition. He also began to administer this to many people who came to him. Apart from this he gained mastery in Hatha Yoga and finally cured himself of both the conditions that were limiting his life. This book is a treasure trove of alternative paths. The author’s father naturally cured himself of medical conditions which have no alternative but surgery in Allopathy. So for someone who is frustrated by Allopathy and wants to read about a person who beat the system, this one is for you. Personally, I don’t agree with the principles of alternative medicine. But this book has opened me up to the possibility that in some cases alternative medicine does work in its own way and time.

❤️Its the most beautiful thing about Indian Authors- They write something they have experienced and the book really express their feelings well❤️
My rating: 3.5/5 The author's father was diagnosed with a rare disease called 'fistula'. The doctors told him he only had 2-3 months left to survive. Any other person would have been depressed with this life-shattering news. But the author's father took it upon himself to understand his disease and try to find a cure, all by himself by reading and researching. Was he successful? For that, you need to read this book.
What I liked about the book: -> The author has put great effort to include intensive research with science-backed facts alongside references to different books. -> The book is an excellent guide for people who are looking forward to understanding this particular disease and taking necessary steps for themselves or someone who is suffering in their vicinity. -> The author's honesty and goodness of intention are very apparent and that's why the reading feels original and important. -> There is a lingering hope while reading the book.
What I did not like about the book: -> The book needs thorough editing. -> I understand the author's viewpoint of making healthcare and medicine an inclusive field of study, but we cannot undermine or demean the progress made in the field of allopathy.
Quotable quotes: -> Most people do not have the courage to accept reality. -> If we have the zeal to search, the way to the door, to find answers, will open automatically. -> No one can get answers to all problems simply by reading a single book. -> The aristocratic social conditions prevailing in the society, provoke the rich to dominate over the poor.

⭐The Man Who Vanquished His Death "is a very nice book title." The title itself made me read this outstanding autobiography of a simple family man named Mr. Nandalal, who is based in India and suffered from a chronic illness that had no cure, but he nevertheless fought this fight of life and gracefully won it by using and finding different medicines and therapies to treat himself. Later on, he has saved several lives.
⭐I have heard of a similar individual called very famous Daisaku Ikeda who is a Buddhist philosopher, educator, poet, and supporter of nuclear disarmament who was also told at the age of 32 that he won't live for a long time, but through his commitment to chanting, he conquered his illness and has now passed 90 years of age.
⭐His father suffered a terrible infection called 'Fistula'. He was advised by the specialist that he could not survive for more than 2 or 3 months. Still, he never yielded and tried himself to discover the arrangement. He went from specialist to specialist, but a similar approach was found. He didn't lose boldness and anticipation. This is his excursion to find remedies and medications that will spare him just like anyone. This is a true case of a man crushing his downfall.
⭐The novel is fascinating and very insightful. Through this book, anyone can be encouraged, and the author briefly explained in depth about some diseases that can be easily handled without costing a lot of money, like covid-19.
This book is an account on the author's father, Mr. Nandalal who happens to have a extraordinary personality. During the 1980s, the doctors declared that he is suffering from the last stage of the dreadful disease Fistula and had only 2-3months left to live to this earth. Could you believe that this man who had no formal medical education, did an extensive research on his own about the disease, its curing methods and proved the doctors wrong by living 25years longer! The author gives a detailed account on his father's unique lifestyle and habits. He's a brilliant person who worked primarily as a proof reader but was also into painting, sculpting, photography and what not! They are a typical telugu speaking middle class family hailing from Vijayawada, a place in Andhra Pradesh. I'm myself a telugu person and would definitely think about Mr.Nandalal Sir whenever I go through that area in future. He imbibed strong principles and morales into his children. In one instance when the author's sister was asked in her school whether she belonged to a Brahman Caste, she replied by saying- 'We have no caste'. Such is their upbringing! I found this book informative especially on topics like meningitis and anal Fistula. Loved the vintage photographs attached. Nandalal's go to medical book was initially "Where there is No Doctor" written by David Werner. The author argues that everyone must strive to have a good medical knowledge as it can help us to lead a long and quality life. Overall it's an inspirational read. Do give it a try and be amazed and inspired!
The Man Who Defeated His Death is an amazing educational biography on Mr. Nandalal , the author of this book is the son of Mr. Nandalal.
It is his journey of how he battled through his illness , this book is set almost 30 years back which although not long ago , was a complete different time , medicines were being discovered and access to surgeries were very limited as they were super expensive and also Mr. Nandalal was from a middle class family , you can obviously imagine the struggles he had to go through.
He was staring death in the eye and most people would give up , and most people who give up don’t have books written on them do they? Yes you’re right he didn’t give up , he instead decided to help himself even in the most helpless situation , he took it upon himself to collect as much information as possible and researched day and night about similar illnesses and ancient therapies , he ended up curing himself on his own through his own hard work , which I’m sure no one saw coming.
The fact that this book is a real story gives me so much inspiration , this man is a legend and more people should know about him. He took the worst thing that happened to him and made it the best.
From being sick waiting to die to becoming healthy again on his own and using the information and his research to help others get through their sicknesses. I think everyone should definitely give this a read. And the author is his son , it makes you connect to the book even more obviously no one else could have done a better job. Highly recommended!

💌Why I set this example is to motivate and encourage people to believe in miracles and never give up no matter how difficult the situation is. If people can strive for life then why not hurdles in life.
💌Author Mr. Vastav is the son of Mr Nandalal and has penned down his fathers life experience very beautifully. It must be an honour for him to write this book and dedicate it to his father. This Book depicts his fathers striving journey, knowledge and inventions, which showed a wonderful path to everybody to save themselves and their loved ones. This was the life story of the creator's dad Mr. Nandalal. The creator depicts how his dad battled and furthermore he has written down his dads educational experience and excursion. His dad must be pleased with him.
His dad experienced horrible infection named 'Fistula'. The specialist told that he was unable to live for more than 2 or 3 months. Yet, he never surrendered and attempted to discover the arrangement himself. He went from specialist to specialist yet he found a similar solution. He didn't lose expectation and boldness. This is an excursion of his for finding cures and medicines that can spare him just as others. This is a genuine occurrence of a man who crushed his demise.
He was gallant to the point that, he never surrendered, under any troublesome circumstance, the battling nature, which was the fundamental property of his life.
This story gave an ideal case of not surrendering, how an average person spared himself from death and shown a major success without surrendering an expectation forever and inspirational mentality towards everything.
The composing style of this book is one of a pearl. I was so seen in this book that I was feeling like I was talking with the writer and he is disclosing to me his dad's excursion flawlessly with the assistance of different photographs and graphs. I am truly contacted subsequent to perusing this book. I prescribe this book to everybody.

Overall it's worth read for me and recommend to everyone because it's not only a book, it is a treasure of the journey of the man who defeated his death.
This isn't just any fictional story rather this is authors right emotions his fathers life and his is a life of courage , art , wisdom and life lessons that one will keep close to there heart .
It is an in depth research to nourish other , to let others know how to come out from disease that's seems scary and impossible to come out from .
This is a beautiful story in a way that it reminds one the value of life and the treasure they hold and how one should not procrastinate rather work hard . In depth study and analysis of homeopathy and how it related to them has also been thoroughly explained in the story .
while this book slowly and gradually tells the title and explains about the sickness there are a few pictures too attached with the story as it seeps in step by step . I personally loved authors way of attaching the pictures as it shows emotions and attachments to the story and seeing them makes it feel like you are living the story with them . It would have been tough for author to pen down such intricate details of his father but I am glad he simplified things and did that . The only part was certain pages were monotonous , the starting and ending of the book was great and quick with information and story which made it easy to grab attention but a few stretches made it loosen it which disappointed me just a little bit , but nothing matches the amount of information that has been provided .
Vastav's The Man Who defeated his Death is a very inspirational read. Mr. Nandal Lal , which ended with a horrific illness. He contracted a fatal disease called fistula. Doctors said he has only 3 months. He never lost hope and courage.
He started looking for a solution. He began to receive information from friends and doctors, began to read more and more books, began to study such diseases, and began to study ancient remedies. Thanks to his belief in himself and his research, he was able to fully recover from an incurable disease within a few years, helping and saving many of his chronic patients suffering from incurable diseases.

"The Man Who Defeated His Death" by Vastav is an inspirational read with useful techniques of medicine. Speaking of title, it is intriguing. This is a biography of a man (Author's father) who, despite seeing his death in front, did not give up the hope and courage of his life. Mr. Nandalal from India is a man who transformed himself from a Chronic Patient to a Therapist. And that's the beauty of life, we never know what life holds for us in the future. No matter how many circumstances we come across, at the end of the day it will be worth it. The book isn't just inspiring but also enhances one's knowledge. The language is lucid and even a beginner can read and understand it. The author has used some images in the book which are extremely helpful to the readers. The author's dad is also an amazing designer (on page number 33, you can see the beautiful art) Author also has mentioned some of the helpful books on bio hem tissue salt therapy. We often think that most things are impossible, but the protagonist proves all of us wrong. So let me not give you any spoilers. Do read the book to know the full story. The book focuses on biology and Ayurveda. Although there are lengthy descriptions at some point, I didn't find it annoying although I am least interested in medicine and now that's the beauty of this book. .
The story is inspirational and motivational. The story is about a man who refused the god of death and said "not today". This book is an autobiography of author's father, who defeated his disease by himself and set an example that if ur intentions are honest towards ur will then u can achieve what u crave for. They say that Survivor instinct is the best instinct one could have.
Author's father Mr. Nadalal is a middle class man. Who got diagnosed to cancer. Everyone knows that such a deadly disease is not easy to defeat not with a low budget. Doctors with no choice left told him that he don't have much time left as they were not Abel to pay for expensive treatment. But what came next was inspiring. He started studying homeopathy, ayurveda, biochemic tissue. And started treating himself. He also learnt acupuncture, hatha yoga.
With this knowledge he had gain , he not only saved himself, but also started treating others like Chronic patients on their request and saved many lives in the time span of two decades. The book is about his journey and how he acquired his knowledge. This book taught me that being wise or doing hardwork is not enough, when you can't make a change in the society with it. A positive change. The book is simple, and understanding as it is a biography so might sound like a study material. This book is a must read.

It shows how one can even defeat the inevitable death if he has will and perseverance to battle with things that try to stop us and how we can improve as well fight with diseases using methods about which we have very little information or knowledge.
What was it about this thoroughly general layman that caused so many people to plunge into his struggle. An epic stretching of 154 pages will bring a change a ray of hope and a motivation in shadow days. It was agony of his relationship with his deadly disease, that effected his body. The infection spreading everywhere leaving only a couple of months in his hand. What would a normal middle class man do, wait for death. Lack of resources and only prayers left for him. But here this warrior changed the direction of his life.
A highly inspiring journey where the writers father, used to treat himself of whatever health issues he had by going through books. His urge of knowledge in curing any particular books can be experienced by reading this out. So he read about homeopathy, biochemic tissue, Ayurveda various therapies like yoga and acupuncture and so on. He not only cured himself but has also helped many such patients suffering from different health issues.
I was deeply inspired by the lines from the book.. We have knowledge about science and various other technologies but we lack knowledge about medicine. Another interesting point was his meeting with the sadhu who guided him the right path without ego.
The entire book has lots of such interesting moments and learning experience for readers. I am glad I came across such awe inspiring story.

⭐I met a priest some time back who was able to tell me my date of death just by reading my forehead. 'No,' I said, 'I didn't want to know my D-day, because I didn't want to count my life backward and live in fear every day. Nobody wants to die prematurely and everyone wants to live a life free of a peaceful illness, no matter whether it's a priest or a doctor saying that you have less time to live. On the other hand, our hero in the storey was curious to know how much time he had at his disposal.
⭐He sought cures for the symptoms of his illness with his determination to fight and his ability to understand something, one by one as he began to research various therapies such as Biochemical Tissue, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Ayurveda, and various other therapies such as Acupuncture, etc. He also studied numerous ancient techniques with his thorough study into Hatha Yoga and healed himself fully in a few years
⭐Upon their appeal, they also began treating numerous other chronic patients and rescued hundreds of them in two decades who had lost hope of recovery.
⭐The passion of the author for his father and his understanding of an excellent script make this book a great fit to read right now.
This story is about the narrator's father who suffers from meningitis. The narrator's family is poor and his father, despite his illness doesn’t want to spend money on doctors because as the man of the family, he has to take care of everyone. As a kind and good man, he decides to give up on his treatment. Instead, he reads every book on such treatments and figures out a way to cure himself. When the doctors say that he will not live for very long, he proves them wrong by curing himself completely. He finds out the root causes of many diseases and he even cures his sister and grandmother. This is an inspirational story which will make one tear up. We humans have the tendency of giving up on life after the slightest of misdemeanours but the story of Mr. Nandalal reminds us to believe in ourselves and never give up. The language is extremely simple and easy to understand. I felt like I was having a conversation with the author. The author describes some of the diseases too which makes the book informative as well. There are many images in the book as well, which helps to understand the materials better. It is a short read and took me around a day and a half to finish.
'The man who defeated his death' surrounds the life of Mr. Nandalal. He is a middle class family man with a hard childhood. With his own family to care for, her falls terribly sick and the doctors say he is diagnosed with a disease called 'Fistula' and has two or three months to live. But he doesn't give up and starts to research all the medicinal fields to come up with a cure. . I have to say, the story is very inspirational. Normally, when a patient is diagnosed with a deadly disease and is pronounced to be alive for just a couple more months, they lose their sanity and become helpless. But reading about a man like Mr. Nandalal who held onto hope and searched for a cure in every corner is fascinating. And knowing the depth of his research and unlocking all the hidden and forgotten cures and sharing them with those who suffer from diseases is heart warming. The entire story is shared by his son who portrays his father as his role model and the reader can't resist seeing the same. The author shares the vague discovery of various medical treatments and we can learn a lot from it. I'm very sure everyone should read this book. You can learn about many simple methods to keep your body healthy and immune from diseases.
