Pastor Mike Jones has been pastoring now going on 5 years. His life before stepping into ministry was very complicated. Despite all of the obstacles he’s had to climb over, go around or dig under he has remained relentless in making sure that life would never dictate to him what he could or could not be. With God all things are possible. Having to deal with acceptance and rejection comes with life. You won’t escape life without having to deal with it. Whether it be from family, friends or even a stranger it’s coming. But where the rubber meets the road is, how you respond to it when it happens. Many people get stuck when dealing with the pain of rejection and can’t get past the desire to hurt the person that hurt them. Learning to take the hit in one’s flesh instead of the spirit is all a part of one being able to surrender to the will of God. And I pray that if you haven’t gotten there yet, that you will be by time you finish reading this book.
This book takes you to a completely different view when it comes to actions people take and the reason they may have taken them. I love the part about knowing where to take the hit is extremely important. Taking the hit in your spirit instead of your flesh is crucial. I see what the writer meant about not allowing one’s emotions lead the charge when you have been hurt, violated, betrayed, or rejected.
