He’s a big-city professional football player. She’s a small-town physical therapist.
When their worlds collide, will their undeniable attraction survive?
Ashleigh’s a small-town girl through and through. She’s content living in Connor’s Grove and she excels at her physical therapy career, but there’s always been something missing in her love life. Although Ash has a bit of history with her new celebrity client, she’s determined to help him rehab his busted knee so he can return to his high-profile life.
Brock’s returned to his hometown after a football injury took him out for the season. He never intends to stay long term – just until he’s back in prime playing form. His laser focus is on his recovery and not the beautiful physical therapist that he left behind several years ago. When their long dormant attraction springs to life again, he can’t ignore the fact that she’s always been in his heart. But he’s going back to the big city and his professional football career no matter what.
The quirky people of Connor’s Grove embrace Ashleigh and Brock and show them what it means to belong in a small town where people care about each other, know everyone’s business and dabble in a little matchmaking.
Do Ashleigh and Brock need each other enough to overcome their opposing dreams and aspirations?
Book 4 in the Connor Brothers series of small-town, clean and wholesome romances. Fans of Hallmark movies and romantic comedies will love this delightful, touching fourth book in the series. This novel may be read as a stand-alone.
Leah Busboom wanted to become an author since the day she learned how to read! She specializes in the Romance genre because she loves a good story with a happy ending. Her books are known for their heartwarming stories; intriguing characters and hilarious real life situations that will make you want to laugh out loud.
Leah currently lives in Colorado with her wonderful husband, her "Blue Bomber" bicycle and a hundred bunny rabbits that roam free in the neighborhood.
Just as expected, another great book by Leah Busboom. I was excited to head back to Connor's Grove and hang out some more with the Connor brothers. Except, this time, the story focuses on the Connor sister, Ashleigh. However, you do get plenty of the Connor brothers too so if you haven't already, I highly suggest reading the first 3 books as well. I've reviewed those on Goodreads too! Honestly, I have enjoyed this entire series and it has become one where I've kept my eye out for the next book. Bonus - the series is on Kindle Unlimited.
I really liked Ashleigh and Brock's story. I'd say it was among my favorites of the series, if not the one I would call my favorite. You get a mix of second chance romance and famous athlete falls in love with average girl (which is kind of a guilty pleasure story trope for me). I felt like they had great chemistry and Brock seemed like such a big sweet teddy bear. I totally would have visited LA to spend time with him. This book is clean (no explicit scenes) but what I like to call saucy, meaning the characters aren't afraid to check each other out and admire each other physically. But I'm totally okay with this since it doesn't get explicit, is done tastefully, and a more advanced physical relationship (if you catch my drift) doesn't happen until after marriage.
I felt like I've been able to see a growth in the author's writing style that has helped to keep me interested in the series which has kept me coming back for more. Also, all the covers for this series have been super sweet and adorable. They read just fine as standalones, but as I've said before in so many reviews, it's even better to read the whole series in order. One thing I will say, it seemed like the Connor women were all cranking out their next babies soon after having one baby (I say this while laughing to myself because while it's true, it wasn't like it would cause me to stop reading).
While we've now gotten all the love stories of the Connor siblings, I did see that some of the other characters we've met throughout the series are getting their own books or novellas. Which definitely means I will still be keeping my eye out for more books from Leah Busboom. I'm sure some of our old favorites will make appearances again in those.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.
Ashleigh Connor is a Physical Therapist in the small town of Connor’s Grove in Minnesota. Her new patient, Brock a tight end for the L.A. Rams, is a guy she dated in high school. Brock suffered severe knee injury when he was tackled during a game. Ashleigh’s job is to get him ready for the mini-camp before the season. Though very professional at first, both Ashleigh and Brock soon realize there is still some major chemistry between them. Can their relationship sustain the long distance once he returns to California?
Leah Busboom has hit another home run in with this book, or should I say she has scored a winning touchdown? This is the fourth book in the Connor Brother’s series. The three previous books cover her three brothers. I have read all the books in the series, but believe this one could stand alone. There are some references to things in the previous books, but no value would be lost if you haven’t read them. Having said that, they are all very good books and I would recommend them. This is a sweet and clean romance. It is free of curse words, sex scenes and violence. If you are a football fan, you will particularly enjoy this book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes clean romance novels.
A delightful fourth book in the Connor Brothers series! We met Brock Steele in a previous book when he was having a home built in Connor’s Grove. Brock is a tight end for the L.A. Rams and is used to the fans and media coverage that come with his pro career. He is now back in Connor’s Grove recovering from a knee injury when Ashleigh Connor arrives to help with his physical therapy. Ashleigh and Brock were once an “item” in high school, but that was years ago and she is only interested in getting his knee back in shape. As they spend time together, Brock begins to hope that there is a second chance for him, but she is a small-town girl and not interested in life in Los Angeles. Follow along as they try to have that second chance despite the chaos that surrounds his life. I always enjoy the author’s update on the characters from the previous books, especially with this lovely family. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
I loved Ashleigh and Brock's story. They had been an item for a short time in high school and then Brock left for college and Ashleigh was left behind. Brock made it into the NFL as a tight-end playing for the Los Angeles Rams and was injured, Ashleigh was hired to be his PT to help heal his injury back home in Connors Grove, Minnesota. The chemistry between these two was electric from the start. I also loved how Ashleigh was true to her morals and even with the pressure, she remained true to her beliefs. In the end, there is a happy ending and a wonderful story to add to the series.
This author is able to paint a beautiful picture in my head where I could easily find myself friends with the characters in the story. That is truly a gift. I look forward to reading more wonderful books by this author.
I was given an arc of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Delightful surprise This is the first book I’ve had the pleasure of reading by this author, and I loved it. Ashleigh and Brock are terrific characters that draw you into their story of being in love, but being separated by distance due to their careers. After he suffers an injury while playing a game for the Rams, he returns home to Minnesota where Ashleigh is a physical therapist. No overt sex scenes or swearing just a really good read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Just finished reading the last book of the Connor Brothers series and I wish there were a dozen more. Appealing characters navigating their love lives with humor and lots of family input. I'm a Leah Bushoom fan!
Leah has done it again! Another Connor family member that stole my heart & she improved her healthy salads enough that Brock would eat them. lol I liked Brock & Ash together, they worked well & they made me smile, often. I loved the twist with Jamal at the end, that was special. Leah's clean romances are like a breathe of fresh that I can never get enough of.
In this book we get to read about the Connor brothers Sister, Ashleigh. As a Physical Therapist in the small town of Minnesota called Connor's Grove Ashleigh is sent to the Rams tight end, Brock Steele aka Man of Steele. Brock suffered a severe knee injury at a game, going home to recuperate in his hometown he didn't expect to see Ashleigh. Both Brock and Ashleigh's foolish past coming back to haunt them. I love how Ashleigh tries to keep things professional at first, and how respectful yet determined Brock is. I loved Ralph and Jamal in this story. I especially loved the impact Dr Chen had. This is a fun, cute and sweet story about second chances, first loves and true love.
Ok great book as usual but I deducted a star because I was incensed at Ash’s selfishness. She can’t even VISIT Brock in LA a few times half the year? For 4-5 years only? Yet she claims to love him? What kind of love is that?! If she had been unhappy but even reluctantly willing to put in the effort, that would be ok & even understandable - but to outright refuse to compromise was just infuriating to me. Otherwise good read.
A knowledgeable and impressive survey of married life with an impressive survey of the impact of history on children and young couples. How priceless was the inclusion of a disabled child! I appreciate the way the bride's values were important in her relationship with the man she married. I was surprised by how often I teared up as I was reading.
Ashleigh and Brock had their time together in high school, and then it came to an abrupt end. I enjoy any of the Connor family and their small town, family dynamics. It's hard reading about what sports celebrities go through. I can't imagine going through all that in real life. This author does such a good job of changing POV. I love the happy ending.
Ashleigh and Brock hung out in the same friend group in high school and dated briefly, but they haven't seen each other since he left for college. Now he's a big-time football player back home to recover from an injury before the new season starts. She's the local PT assigned to him.
The story was cute. The matchmaking moms were adorable. The side-story was amazing.
Like I previously mentioned each one of these stories keep getting better and better! This one did not disappoint me either! The story of Ashleigh and Brock was full of both sorrow and joy!
Hold onto your hats for a great family get together
I love each family and their devotion to their parents and each other. The football games and house buildings were sounding great. I loved the family values. Especially Ashley
This is a sweet story with Ashleigh and Brock. I loved how they were able to work out their differences. All of the characters are great. This is a fun, clean romance.
