Alpha wolf, Sean O’Reilly, is out for blood. The man who killed his mother and several other members of the Wolf Creek Pack always seems just out of reach, disappearing into the wind any time the pack circles in close. Nothing could keep him from finding this monster and making him pay.

Nothing, except Emma.

When Emma walks into his family’s brewery, Sean—and his wolf—are drawn to her instantly. But there’s something different about her. She’s his mate. But the female shifter isn’t connected to the wolf within.

Sean will do everything to keep his mate safe, and make her fall in love.

Emma is a wolf shifter but she's only shifted once when she was a teenager and she can't feel her wolf. She was raised by human adoptive parents so she never had any shifters to help her figure out what was going on with her shifting abilities. Now she studies wolves and tries to care for them long enough to set them free when she is able. She is back to see how some wolves are doing after they were released a while back and she comes across Sean who is a wolf shifter also.

Sean is consumed with finding and bringing down the hunter who killed his mother and is killing other shifters. But this bad guy is really bad. He does absolutely horrific things to these shifters once he kidnaps them before killing them. He's sadistic and Sean and his pack need to find him and stop him. But Emma complicates things because now Sean knows she's his mate and if this bad guy finds her even though she can't shift, he will probably kidnap and kill her also. So Sean has to keep her safe while getting to know her better and tracking a killer.

This was an action packed, quick read. I loved the twist and reveal who the bad guy was. I had a good time with this one.

Emma helped release a wolf pack into the wilderness and one year later they are spotted and she goes to check on them. She enters a bar and meets three locals who are brothers and a cousin. Sean is the Alpha of the local pack and he is centered on Emma. He takes her to her camping spot and helps her set up. He checks on her the next day and knows she is his mate. She has not shifted since she was 16 and he has awakened her wolf. They have a common enemy in the territory…a man and others who kill shifters for their hides~ Now, they and others will have to fight them to protect Emma and others. Who will live and die? Great Story!

Found this story had an interesting take - a scientist who studies wolves, yet is a wolf shifter who has suppressed or lost her wolf for years. Add in an Alpha wolf who lost his parents to a wolf shifter hunter and things start getting interesting. Sean, the Alpha and pack leader, knows who the hunter is and is aware of numerous kills he has made. He also knows that Emma, the scientist, is a wolf shifter who has seemingly lost connection to her wolf. From this point, the story really starts to get intriguing and takes several twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale and look forward to reading more by TJ Finn.

To start with I was enjoying this book and was over 70% through when I came to the following sentence ‘she drug the other…’

NO NO NO the word was dragged the others. Why would you drug someone you want to save.

The misuse of the word drug means I will never get a book by this author again. Shame on her for lazy writing.

She came out as stupid at the beginning, but that particular situation was later ignored by the author as if it never happened, so she was Ok. At least she had the common sense not to stay alone in her camp while a dangerous psycho roamed the area. It ends in a cliffhanger but I don't care enough about any of these people to read the next book.

Liked the book. It was to short for me. If you read the first one and liked it like I did you need to read this to. Now I have to see where the 3rd book is.
