An immortal dragon guardian, a portal to a new world, and the corrupted mortals who fawn all over her.
As a warrior stuck in a peaceful world of mock tournaments, preparing for a battle that will never come, Niawen feels like a pawn. Waiting. Overly still. Unrest pushes her toward the unknown, to the mortal world beyond the portal—a place she is told is full of corruption, full of humans who would defile her inner light.
Despite the warnings, Niawen enters the mortal realms to escape a broken heart, with her fearless dragon. The mundane, and supposedly evil, humans hold a fascination she couldn’t have anticipated. What’s more, they’re all captivated by her and her powers.
What Niawen fails to understand is that her growing affections for those in her new life could all be sabotaged by death. They are, after all, mortals. What’s more, she has no idea what real war is, or does, especially to the light of those who engage in it.

Corrupted is the first novel in the Fallen Emrys Chronicles, an epic romantic fantasy series. If you like a heroine who rebels against the norm, several charming princes and a dashing fur trader vying for her attentions, and an adventure in a new world, then you’ll love this book by E.E. Everly.
E.E. EVERLY once trampled through the Appalachian woods and built forts in bramble bushes. She loves the sun in winter and the rain in summer. She believes in miracles, the power of love, and magic. Other worlds do exist, and her writing opens portals to them. Cake is always to be savored, and her soul animal is a cat. Meow.
This book has so much going on you don’t want to put it down. Niawen is bored with the immortal world and is fascinated by humans, so she goes on an adventure. There are four men that are fascinated by her and also a bad guy, but you kind of feel for the bad guy. Niawen is also a little naive. After reading several different Emry books I find them fascinating and adventurous there is never a dull moment love the series.
This is a brilliant read ... well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Crisp dialogue without unnecessary fluff or filler, three dimensional characters that come to life on the pages and a believable storyline made for a quick, entertaining read. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with and wonderful world building. I received this novel from StoryOrigin. This is my true and honest review.
A beautifully crafted start to what I hope is a long series!. I can not wait to see what happens to Niawen, Owein and Kendrik.
While Niawen may be a little naive, I absolutely love how Everly wrote the character and had to have them go through some hardships to end up being a bada$$.
Also THE DRAGONS!!!
This book definitely left me biting my nails trying to read faster just so I could find out what happened.
I received this book to review and these are my honest thoughts.
So many things I love about this novel! First of all—the guys! Multiple! Kind of hard to pick my favorite—okay, I’m lying. I love Kenrik. But each of them has things that I love about them. And the villain. I have a hard time hating him. He’s just so broken. I really love how Niawen is so naive to the human world. Great story!
4.5 stars There is so much to say about this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat with the many twists and turns. I really like the characters especially Kenrick. There is plenty of adventure, and emotion. The world and character building is fantastic with the amazing storytelling. I can' wait to read more of this series.
Naiwen decided she could not stand to stay home anymore. She left with Seren her dragon to go to Bryn. There she meets four men, all who want her for their own reasons. She has to make a hard choice in order to survive this world. This really should be one of the first books about Emrys to be read. I am in love with this series of series.
A good book with an interesting story, about the protagonist discovering herself and experiencing new feelings of friendship, love and betrayal. The protagonist's development is peculiar and good, she having to discover her strengths and weaknesses. The story and characters are very detailed, I'm very satisfied.
Another great book by Ms. Everly! She once again brings an intriguing story that had me glued to the pages from start to finish. Her characters are strong and the story flows fluidly. Add in the humor along with the romance and she delivers a terrific dragon story. Loved and recommend this book.

Neawen leaves Gorlassar behind to go to the mortal world. What will happen when the mortals see a dragon? Will she want to go back? Can she go back if she decides to? What about the affection she is haveing for some humans?.

I love this writer and her books. The Emrys, the children of light and her adventures with the mortals. Every guy seems to fall for Niawin and she has a hard time with all the attention. Niawin, the child of light meets a child of dark, Caedryn and falls in love. Is this good or bad? I loved the twist.
OMG, I could not put it down. I read it in one day. Characters are easy to relate to, story keeps you entertained with all the twist and turns. This book is definitely worth the time spent reading!.

This was so well written I did not want it to end!! This is an amazing read with some pretty strong characters! Really hits you in the feels! Amazing job!
Niawen left Gorlassar to venture into the mortal world and had to overcome a a lot of trials some good but also some bad. When Kelyn and Kendrik falls for Niaween things get complicated and she leaves then she ends up with Caedryn which she thought this is where she wanted to be but when she finds out the deception that Caedryn did. She was devasted. Lots of ups and downs and a real page turner. A little intense at times but, overall, a great book to read.
