Drunk Mack makes poor decisions, but this one didn’t seem too bad.
A few days working in a quaint coastal town with his roommate Larissa. She’s really the one working, appearing in a documentary about an historical house with some seriously bad vibes; Mack’s just wandering the town to bag a few interviews to add local color. Vacation and cash—definitely not his worse drunk decision.
But, pretty close.
Decades old secrets begin to surface, bodies begin to fall, and Mack struggles to find the truth before he and Larissa become victims of the past.

Another five star read by author DL Link. After reading crywolf I was anxiously awaiting the second book Phantom pains. Mister Link has a perfect combination of every genre you can think of, from Supernatural to Crime thrillers , murder mystery and even a hint of romance. I anxiously await this young authors next masterpiece. It will be a joy to follow his career and passion for the written word and let his stories entertain us as all good stories are supposed to
The second installment of Mack's mysteries offers further proof that DL Link is onto something good here. Mack, once again, proves to be a provacotive and entertaining leading man. Even when he's getting his butt kicked, he seems to be one step ahead of his opponents. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that Larissa deserves more attention. Next time I want to see her tag along with Mack. Great setting and characters, and the dialogue crackles with wit. Can't wait for the next Mack Macklin story!
