After losing his 14-year old brother at the age of 10 - Jeremy developed massive anxiety over his own mortality - it became the fuel that fired his personal and professional success.
In the late 1990's, Jeremy Harbour acquired a competitor of the telecommunications he owned - without cash or involving a bank. Proving that necessity truly is the mother of invention, he figured out a deal structure that worked for the company he wanted to buy. In a single afternoon, he grew by a year's worth of sales - and that solidified it - he became a deal junkie.
A globally-renowned expert in Mergers & Acquisitions in the field of small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SME), Jeremy speaks all over the world - even having been invited to Buckingham Palace and The British Houses of Parliament to advise on matters of business and enterprise. His commentary has been featured in the Sunday Times, Financial Times, and numerous other publications, as well as appearing on The Money Channel.
As the founder of Unity Group, a firm specializing in attracting investments and creating opportunities for SMEs to scale, he has advised on more than 300 acquisitions of both distressed and solvent businesses. If it's a good deal, he pursues it, acquiring businesses in telecommunications, health clubs, spas, a music school, IT support, training, business process outsourcing, cleaning, air conditioning, and a cooking school, to name a few. With investments in 12 countries, you can say Jeremy's business sector agnostic.
Jeremy's passion for changing the mindset of wealth creation fueled the birth of Harbour Club where he teaches real tactics for buying, fixing, and selling businesses with no experience and no cash upfront. With new members every month it has become a change engine for good - helping entrepreneurs excel at wealth creation so they can be problem solvers in their local communities.
Here are just a few highlights of what Jeremy has worked on in the last decade: * 1000 Active Delegates in Harbour Club * 200+ Deals done through Harbour Club * 100 Deals Done through Unity-Group * 30 Reverse Mergers * 12 Countries with His Personal Investments * 2 IPO's
This is an excellent business book. Jeremy explains why buying and selling businesses is better than running businesses. This is a much faster path to wealth than things like Real Estate. This book teaches things you will not learn in business school but very applicable in the business world. Highly recommended.
This book by Jeremy Harbour offers you useful advice as to how you can make the best deals possible for your business.
As an entrepreneur, it can be difficult to grow. How do you reach customers? How can you market your products or services? Harbour will guide you through this by giving you expert counseling. Some important tips you’ll learn in this book include how to have a positive and productive conversation with sellers, how to tell if a deal is beneficial, and when to leave a deal.
Many business-related books tend to be monotonous and list what you need to do. Harbour instead writes with a relatable yet educational style. This makes the book easy to read, something which can be helpful if you’re new to the business world.
Besides offering you advice, you’ll also read about real-life examples and how you can learn their successes or failures. At 149 pages, it will take some time to read, but it’s definitely worth it if you’re serious about being a successful entrepreneur.
Go Do Deals: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Buying & Selling Businesses by Jeremy Harbour is an easy to read book citing the author's own experience in buying and selling businesses. This is a rather new approach to how to think about investing; rather than running a business, a good option might be buying businesses. Harbour details many examples of his past deals, giving you a glimpse into his success and specific methodology to take advantage of businesses opportunities. Acquisition plays a significant role in creating wealth as any savvy investor will tell you. Sometimes the best way to scale a business is to invest in other similar businesses, making you more of a major player. A "growth by acquisition engine" is a great way to think of this opportunity. Well written in an easy reading manner, this is a highly recommended book if you are looking for ways to increase your aptitude in buying and selling businesses.
Being an entrepreneur is a great adventure but definitely not an easy task, we struggle to take steps that would lead us to the next level and once we get to that desired level, the struggle to survive also starts. The idea of this book is teaching entrepreneurs a new practical method to buy companies without having lots of money or taking a big loan. Relevant and catching, the title reflects what the book is about, and called my attention immediately. The author uses simple vocabulary and gives straight forward explanations, not to mention the fact that he speaks from his own experience. I found this book realistic, practical and engaging as it offers great tools to step out of our comfort zone and teaches us not be afraid of taking risks. I highly recommend it!
Go Do Deals, by Jeremy Harbour, is a four-part book which is easy to follow along since it has been crafted after the author's own experience in buying and selling businesses. The main motto of this book is that buying and selling companies when not having enough money is possible. Harbour instructs readers with tips and ideas on how to move up the entrepreneurial ladder and he provides examples of what he did in the past. The book is simple and easy to read and the fact that Harbour puts all his experience on the table makes the ideas exposed more credible. I found this book very informative and precise and perfect for entrepreneurs, but also for those who would like to become ones. Great book!
Jeremy Harbour has written an extraordinary must-read book. This text is not a typical guide like a “pie in the sky” journey from “rags to riches”. Rather, the author demonstrates that with A good strategy, good pieces of advice and a little money it is possible to buy a company. “Go Do Deals” is a clear testimony that with effort and guidance it is possible to obtain everything that one proposes.
This piece of writing is divided into different parts full of clear examples and the easy writing style makes it the perfect bible for business.
To conclude, I must admit that this book changed the way I see business, I mean, it is possible, even for people like me, to make a profit without having much knowledge on the subject.
As a business owner myself, I like to be on top of my game and my way of doing that is reading about the market and all the things that come with it. I am not thinking about selling or buying anything in particular right now, but as I do want to grow, I am interested in reading about these topics.
Jeremy Harbour did a really good job with this book, combining all of his knowledge and his experiences and how he deals with situations that may or may not been in his plans. It is a very insightful read, and one thing I appreciated was the fact that he takes away the fear of selling.
A concise and helpful book When I started reading this book, I thought that it was adequate for anyone who is interested in setting up a business but then when I finished reading it, I found it very adequate for myself. “Go Do Deals” is a concise reading full of interesting ideas written by Jeremy Harbour. What is interesting about it is that there are examples from the author´s own experience that helped me understand the main idea of it, he also includes interesting quotations to make everything clearer, for instance. “Experience is what you get when you don´t get what you want”. It left me with a great deal to think about. It is worth reading it.
J. Harbour has a very good and clear style when writing. The author presents tips on how to source and buy companies without having capitals and without the need of asking for a loan. I liked the ideas he presented in Go Do Deals; it opened my mind to another world - one which I did not know. What is presented here is certainly both, mind blowing and thought provoking. I believe that many people like me - who are always looking for a new way of earning money - will find this very useful, as I did. I recommend reading it and I am certainly going to look for other titles from this author.
It has some interesting ideas and helped me change my view on some topics. However, this book is very light on content and is basically a big ad for you to buy the course the author offers. So you get introduced to an idea and it'll end with "if you want to know more, buy my course" which I find really annoying. I'd rather pay more for the book and actually have more than just tidbits.
I have always wanted to go into business as my major and I really enjoyed reading the different aspects on how businesses run and how they work! It really will help me out in my future.
