When he promised he’d be there when she woke up, he hadn’t expected this. Ruby Matthews is engaged to her best friend, Abe Coleman, but she’s sick of him clipping her wings when she’d rather fly—until a car accident robs her of her memories. Not only can she not remember her name, but she now lives in the shadow of her former self, who had been so active and loved at church. When Abe falls in love with her, can Ruby love him back, while knowing he is merely waiting for his former fiancée to return? Abe Coleman wasn’t surprised when Ruby broke their engagement and went on a spontaneous mission’s trip to Nigeria. She’d been drifting away for a few weeks now, complaining she didn’t feel loved by him. But now that she suffers from amnesia, he falls in love with this new version of Ruby, who is receptive and trusting toward his love—as long as her memory never returns. *** *** *** If you enjoy deeper romances with a focus on practical faith in the face of tough issues, you'll be delighted with Cheryl's novella, Return to Me, an inspirational Christian romance. A more-than-relationship love story of faith, healing, and surrendering circumstances to embrace one's identity as a grace-covered child of God.
I loved every bit of this story. I commiserated with Ruby’s restlessness, I reveled in Olivia’s peace, and I sympathized with Abe’s longsuffering with both women. It’s a sweet story with a beautiful ending that will touch every heart.
