This was a super sweet, quick read!
Katherine is a matchmaker, and she's hired to help Lord Berkshire's sister, Kitty. I loved the whole family dynamics, Katherine works with her sisters, and they all work only for love, and are there for each other. 🩷
For me at least, Lord Berkshire was a little rough at times, but I think that just made him more of the broody lord. 😅 He softened a lot, thanks to Katherine, and that was really sweet to watch. 🩷
Lord Berkshire's devotion to his sister Kitty was also very endearing, especially when she's working through things in her life.

Overall, this was a very sweet, clean regency that I recommend if you need a quick pick me up! 🩷

Oh this was so cute! 🥰

Good afternoon friends!

Here is a list of moments as to why I loved this regency romance!

🥰
Any moment Hannah and Amelia are joining their sister Katherine in chats and balls! (Dances)

Edward B grows and becomes vulnerable with Katherine.
His sister Kitty, also finds true love! ❤️ (with a guy named William and I will not spoil their relationship)

😂 also, Mr. Dunn and Martin (Edward’s close friend) are hilarious and I loved reading their lines!!

Best quotes: “You are beautiful, clever, and have an income,” he began. “I have no doubt that you would have your pick of gentlemen, assuming you ever decided to wed.”
“Finding joy in our mundane tasks is what life is truly about,” Miss Blackmore insisted.

“I was miserable before I met you. You have brought back joy into my life, something I never thought possible. And I’m afraid I can’t go back to the way I was, not anymore. You have changed me for the better.”

“I am hopelessly, desperately, inexplicably, in love with you.” “You are?” she breathed. “I am,” he replied.

What a fun book! This book captured my interest and imagination from the beginning. Miss Katherine Blackmore and her sisters are quite the matchmakers. They love to bring happiness to others by creating love matches, while at the same time, Katherine does not believe that there is love in her future. It is quite a dilemma.

That's when Lord Berkshire and his sister hire them as matchmakers. Honestly, in some ways, it is a series of misunderstandings and misadventures from that moment. There were many situations and circumstances that left me shaking my head or laughing. The cast of characters were unique and entertaining.

This is a wonderful book to sit back and relax with. If you need to laugh or just escape for a little while from daily life, this is a great book to pick up.

I heartily recommend this work by Laura Beers to my many friends who enjoy clean romance from the Regency period. This was my first experience reading a work by Ms. Beers and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. The storyline kept me involved from the outset and I was pleased to discover no pesty editing errors. Edward, Marquess of Berkshire, believably evolves from a genuine cynic filled with disappointment and negativism into a man filled with hope and love as Katherine works her magic in his life. WELL DONE!

Okay the blurb says Viscount Berkshire, but the story says Marquess of Berkshire. It has a few errors like this.

Miss Katherine Blackmore and her 2 sisters are matchmakers. Edward Simpson, Marquess of Berkshire hires Katherine to find a match for his sister Kitty. Kitty is very shy and get nervous when trying to converse with gentleman.

Katherine and Edward get off to a bad start. But end up traveling together to Gretna Green to stop his sister from eloping with his steward.

In the beginning of the story, I didn't like Katherine she was the one I thought was belligerent toward Edward. But as the story moves on, I began to like her.

The story felt too modern and not at all realistic.

Too many disappointing aspects spoils this one for me

I was somewhat intrigued by the premise of this book. However, there are many disappointments in it. I was disappointed in the dialog. It sounded false to me for the place and time period. The story line was simplistic. Travelling from London to Gretna Green was completely unrealistic.

In the main relationship between Kate and Edward, there are hints of a good story. Initial antagonism followed by an unfoldment of attraction and understanding is one such hint.

What happens when a boorish Viscount hires a headstrong matchmaker to find a match for his sister? Will they manage to work together to stop his sister from making a mistake? Will their dislike of each other turn into something else

This was a fun read, and definitely an enemies to lovers story. Lord Berkshire needs to find his sister a match, and the sooner the better, as she's interested in someone far below her station as the sister of a Viscount. Katherine Blackmoore and her sisters are wonderful matchmakers, something they do to bring happiness to others. They're known for making love matches for those who would seem unmatchable (is that a word?). Lord Berkshire and Katherine get off on the wrong foot because he insults her on their first meeting.

Where there are sparks there's usually fire, and Lord Berkshire and Katherine definitely had sparks from the beginning. There were funny moments such as when Katherine severely overcharges him when he hires her to find a match for his sister. I liked Katherine and her sisters and how they helped those who probably wouldn't have found matches without their help.

I liked that Katherine was able to open her heart to love again when she had been ready to live without it after the death of her fiancé. Lord Berkshire had to learn to live his own life, and not compare himself to his father. These two people who seemed to be the opposite of each other had more in common than they thought. I especially liked that we got an epilogue several years later catching up with Edward (Lord Berkshire) and Katherine, and best of all his sister and her husband.

I received a complimentary copy to review. All thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

Miss Katherine Blackmore may be a wealthy member of the Ton and a matchmaker, but she has definitely met her match in the formidable Edward Simpson, Lord Berkshire. Edward acquires her services to find a suitable match for his sister Kitty. But Kitty has other plans. As Kate and Edward try to point her in the direction Edward chooses, they find themselves slowly confiding in each other.
This was an enjoyable Regency romp with witty banter and a hero and heroine that overcame the sorrow in their pasts to find love. I did catch some more modern phrases that seemed out of place. All in all it was a pleasant, clean read.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the banter between Edward and Katherine. I loved how they couldn’t stand each other for most of the books but their siblings some how knew they would make a great match. I loved watching the matchmaking that went on in this book and I loved the idea that the three sisters were matchmakers, not because they had to be but because they wanted to be. Fun idea and I look forward to reading the other sisters’ stories.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

I do not like to give a book a low rating but unfortunately, I found this book very disappointing. We have three sisters who very efficiently solve the shyness, social awkwardness and melancholy of the young people in a manner of few days through several sessions (are they trained therapists?) and they want their clients to marry for love as long as they fall in love with someone from the ton, otherwise they should forget about him/her and try to find someone else who is suitable and then try to fall in love. Very simplistic plot and writing style. I had to force myself to finish it.

When Laura Beers made the announcement for this book, I quickly pre-ordered it. Not disappointed. There was a great amount of banter and cute romantic moments. I laughed out loud. I have a few favorite moments from the book but I don't want to give anything away.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for an honest review. There several moments where I scratched my head unsure why the characters did what they did but I enjoyed it overall.

I really enjoyed this engrossing novel. Edward, Lord Berkshire has lost all his joy in life. It happened after his father died, and he became Viscount. He does not feel he will ever be the man his father was. His mother passed away, and his sister Kitty has become to fond of his accountant. She is very shy when she goes out in public for her season, and cannot utter a single word. He decides she may need the help of a match maker. His meeting with the head match maker does not go well. She talks of finding a match based on proprietary, and love. He has no interest if love is involved, but that she learns to talk, and be charming to men of her social class. Eventually they work it out, but it will cost him a small fortune due to his rudeness, and lack of decorum. She makes great progress, but she still wants to marry the solicitor.. To help her brother joins in, and decides he too needs a match. The book was delightful. He was Such an arrogant, and out spoken man at first. Slowly that changes, and so does Kitty. Just when everything seems to be progressing their is a twist in the plot. Now everyone is in the crosshairs of the Ton, and their gossip. I loved that pride did not over rule love, and it ended well. plus the epilogue six years later was most exciting. I really loved the characters, and the story. I gave it 5 stars.

This was a wonderful story which had so many intense emotions between the H and h right from their first meeting. Miss Katherine Blackmore and her sisters are known for being great matchmakers. It is something they don't need to do, to survive after the death of their parents, but it is something they enjoy doing to bring joy to others. Miss Katherine is well liked in Society but has no plans to marry after the sudden death of her fiance. Her life is finding true matches for those around her. The response of those she helps is usually very positive until she has an unexpected appointment with The Marquess of Berkshire, looking to hire her to procure a match for his sister. From that first conversation, he is impossibly rude and gruff and she wants nothing to do with him. That is until she begins to see the soft heart he hides beneath a gruff grumpy exterior.

I really liked Edward Simpson, the Marquess of Berkshire, he was so rude in the beginning but as time went on you could really see the man that he kept hidden. I loved how he kept coming back to meet with Miss Blackmore even after she said she wouldn't see him. He actually would go to her window to speak to her when the butler refused him entrance. That made me laugh out-loud. His concern for his sister was loving and he wanted the best life for her even when it wasn't the choice he would make.

Everyone around them could see that the arguing between Edward and Katherine was more than dislike for one another. Being thrown together to save his sister gave them opportunities to really get to know one another.

I enjoyed this start to this new series Regency Matchmakers and already read the description of the next book which I cannot wait to read.

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

I loved the characters in this story! This is a fun story with great witty banter and some very quirky characters. The story caught my attention from the first page and kept me fully engaged until the last. A sweet clean romance that keeps the reader entertained with tongue lashings and hidden feelings. Lots of funny parts throughout that will definitely have you laughing. I hated for this story to end! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

The matchmaker's match. Katherine is a lovely woman trying to help people find their match. Edward wants a match for his sister. He is pretty rude to Katherine and she doesnt want to work for him. But he talks her into it. Their relationship is like fireworks. He wants Katherine to be his, she pushes him away. I loved this enemies to lovers story.

Refreshing Romance

I loved the characters. It was a lovely romance in the manner of the days of propriety. All of the emotion and heart pounding buildup without being drawn into passionate and graphic love scenes. It was a refreshing read. Only 4 stars because of the simplicity and easily guessed plot line.

I love getting lost in a Regency Romance; and this new one from author Laura Beers is perfect! This was my first introduction to this writer and I was not disappointed. In fact, with this one book, she quickly became a favorite in the Regency era genre. Saving Lord Berkshire is the first book in her Regency Matchmaker series and there are so many characters to fall in love with. It will be fun revisiting each one in Ms. Beers future stories in this series.

After losing her fiancé, Katherine Blackmore makes it her mission to help others experience the same love that she once had. She and her sisters pride themselves on their ability to help find love matches among societies ton, but when a particularly difficult client comes along, Katherine's world is turned upside down. What ensues is laugh out loud funny! The chemistry between the two characters is undeniable even while the two are sparing with words. It's thoroughly entertaining to say the least. The witty banter, endearing characters and sweet story was easy to get lost in. Laura Beers is a talented writer both clever and elegant. I will certainly be adding all of her books to my reading list!

I received an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

I love escaping into Laura’s novels! This was a perfect getaway. Edward who has a stuffy personality and Kate who has a kind and loving personality would be the perfect match. I loved their banter between one another. Can’t wait to learn about the other sisters!

I love anything by Laura Beers and so excited for a matchmaker series!
☕️
Katherine is one of the best matchmakers for the ton. She believes that everyone should marry for love and only secures love matches. There is too much heartache in life already, and she is still grieving from her own.
☕️
Lord Berkshire needs to find a suitor for his sister Kitty but when a gentleman tries talking to her, she becomes mute. That wouldn’t do and with some persuasion, seeks out the infamous matchmaker.
☕️
Lord Berkshire just wants a good match for his sister and doesn’t bother to tell her of the scheme but Katherine refuses to take Kitty on as a client with her brother treating her so backhanded. This sets off Lord Berkshire for not getting his way and starts the enemies to lovers. They’re always arguing with someone left upset.
☕️
There’s lots of second and third chances, forgiveness, accepting your grief and accepting love. I loved the themes in this book.
☕️
I received an copy from the author and these are my own views. This book released this week!! Check it out!

This story was pretty bland. It felt very robotic. Every character spoke way too proper the entire book. I’ve read many historic romance novels and none of them ever read quite this way. This is what led to the robotic feel. It didn’t feel like natural dialogue because it was so stuffy and proper. There was too much emphasis on too many other characters too, especially his sister. The only reason I read the whole thing was I was waiting to see how lord Berkshire and Katherine would end up together but their romance was also dull. I liked that they got to know eachother before it turning into love, but there was like zero passion. It wasn’t horrible or anything but the characters felt so old and stuffy. Like they were all 80 years old or something. The whole time all I could picture was them sitting with their backs perfectly straight, chins raised, hands clasped, with proper English accented voices every time they each spoke haha.

I finished this book over the weekend and it was awesome. I'm pretty sure it has everything you could ever want in a book - a trio of matchmaking sisters helping people find love matches in the Regency era, a grumpy hero, the sweetest heroine, quirky side characters, the best character growth, the most tender romance....what is there not to love here?!

I loved seeing Katherine and Edward's relationship grow as they went from barely tolerating each other to falling in love. It was so satisfying watching them learn to trust and open up to each other, and seeing how happier they were when they were together by the end of the book. Their character growth was on point.

Moral of the story here friends is that if y'all haven't read this book yet, it definitely deserves a place on your TBR lists. I have spoken.

*1.5* Ok, i liked the plot and the grumpy-sunshine trope is one of my absolute favorites. However, the dialogue was atrocious, and the whole book felt like a rough draft. And the narrator, oh my gawd, the narrator. I'm sorry, but the way he read the dialogue made it even worse.

On top of all this, it's like the mmc did not listen to a single word the fmc said about who she is. If a man wants you to give up who you are or change something about yourself in order to marry them, don't. Run.

Also, all y'all are so crazy for giving this an average rating of 4 stars!! Don't read this waste of time. Find the same plot by a better author and narrator.

I loved this book. I laughed out loud with some of the interactions of Miss Blackmore and Lord Berkshire. The sparks flew off the page. They did not get along...at first. I found it interesting how they each were dealing with the death of loved ones. In some ways they were similar but in many ways opposite. The developing friendship between them is delightful to read. I also loved the premise of Matchmaker and one in need of matchmaking. I am hoping for stories of the sisters of Miss Blackmore as well. So much fun!

Romance and nonsense

I finished this mix of a book so the writing got me to the end but it is nonsensical in parts and there were glaring contradictions that should have been sorted :
They mount the steps to Katherine’s house yet Edward appears at the window- that’s a good trick!
They complete a round journey from London to Gretna Green of
540 miles in 4 days by horse and coach.
They are in an enclosed town house garden but then “walk back to the estate”.
The one that really bugged me: Lord Berkshire being called “mate” by his friend.
No, No and No!

Hoping for more

I wanted the story to be more realistic and more compelling. Instead Lord Berkshire is way too grumpy. Why would Kate fall for him? She wouldn’t. Plus she visits a man’s house unchaperoned and yet the ton love her. There is no way she is respectable. Not to mention riding in a coach with a man. I wanted there to be a love story, but there was no fire, everything about their relationship was luke warm. Very disappointing!

I needed something light, fluffy, and easy to read in between some intimidating high fantasy/sci-fi novels. This was the perfect palate cleanser. 🤭
I do kinda wish there was more description of the settings and clothing, to make for a more atmospheric read, but alas, it was still as I expected, a quick, fun, little romance novel!

Katherine Blackmore and her two sisters have a matchmaking service in London catering to the Ton. They have been left an inheritance by their deceased parents but enjoy introducing ladies and gentlemen and finding their love match.
Edward Simpson, Marquess of Berkshire, is deeply concerned over his sister, Kitty. She is so shy that conversation with a gentleman is beyond her capabilities. She blushes and looks at the floor. This is her first season in London and Edward thinks marriage will solve the problem and when Edward makes a decision the matter is closed as far as he is concerned. His is the only opinion that matters.
Edward grudgingly makes an appointment with Kathryn Blackmore in hopes of enlisting her services as a matchmaker for his sister. Edward and Katherine clash immediately. He scoffs at the idea of love and wants his sister married to an eligible man as soon as possible. Katherine refuses to take them on as clients because of Edward's autocratic thinking and overbearing conduct which makes Edward furious. He is a marquess and no one turns him down.
This could have been a very interesting story but was very disappointing to me. I like books by Laura Beers but this is not her best work.
What I liked:
There was a small amount of humor in the story which was mostly due to the machinations of Edward's friend, Martin. I liked his character. When Katherine refused to see Edward he would sneak around her townhouse and shout through the window.
What I did not like:
1) Edward Simpson never becomes even remotely likeable until the epilogue. His primary emotion is anger and everything makes him angry, shouting angry. When he and Katherine disagree on anything he verbally attacks her. Now, how could anyone fall in love with a person so unlikeable?
2) When Kitty begins to talk she gushes. When she moves she rushes. ALWAYS.
3)overuse of the word mundane. Edward uses it in every conversation and thought. I was heartily tired of RUSES, GUSHES, and MUNDANE.
