Transfusion Saga #9

Roots of Rage

Rate this book
The plan had sounded simple,
Step into Hell and save a Tree.
That was all I had needed to do.
However, that plan was becoming more complicated by the minute and that list was growing eternally bigger.
Like killing demonic Queens,
Removing Claiming Hexes
Outrunning hungry beasts
And mainly, trying not to piss off Vampire boyfriends, any more than being constantly kidnapped down in Hell is likely to do.
And now fate had chosen me to be its blood queen.
Only one fuelled by…

The Roots of Rage.

My only question. Will there be a book 10...does this story ever end?
Not happy with this ending, cliffhanger.

If there is one thing that I CAN NOT STAND is several interconnected series that aren't finished.

Afterlife... to Kings of Afterlife (to be cont'd)... to Transfusion (to be con'd)... to Afterlife Chronicles (which I'm not going to waste my time with, because I doubt it's completed).

Vincent and Ari's story was to be continued, Jared, Sigurd, Seth and Lucifer's stories were never even started, and then the Transfusion series was written, which was YEARS after in the timeline (which often mentioned or hinted about previous characters and storylines...like the Blood Wars, urm... wtf happened? Inquiring minds want to know!

Finally, I get to the 9th book in the Transfusion series and realized EVEN THAT is to be continued, and now I have even more unanswered questions.

I am tired of reading these series and nothing is complete, with unfinished story after unfinished story, with just more unanswered questions. Some people may be ok with this, but for any people that are OCD like me, and like a series to be complete and in order, then beware before reading, because the only series that is actually complete is Afterlife, and even that one has a lot of holes and a lot of unanswered questions.

I do have to admit that I did love the stories though, and especially the characters, including Lucius and Amelia, who were my favorite couple by far. I will miss all of the characters, but I think I will miss Pip the most. I don't think I have ever read a more colorful and adorable character before! Kudos to Stephanie Hudson for creating one of the most wonderfully crazy and beautiful female characters I have ever read. Even though I am not happy with the series, I got to meet Pip, so not all was lost. :)

So many exclamation marks in one book..
15 times in a chapter 8
22 times in chapter 24 wish I had counted how many through the whole book I’ve never seen so many exclamation marks in a book before!!!!!
I think that’s a first.
But saying this again thank you Stephanie Hudson.
But WOW what a bloody ending holy hell..

Stephanie Hudson is on my short list of favorite authors. Her individual narrative style, storytelling technique and extraordinary characters create a sensation I call "blissed out book inhalation". I'm absolutely addicted!! (:
I surely recommend this book to anyone (after you read the first 8). 👍👍

Holy Gods!!!

Ok I just have to ask damn it!!! Why a cliffhanger??? No matter how good a book is cliffhangers get underneath my skin in a bad way =(. I still gave five stars because lets face it the book like all the others was GREAT!!! I gobbled up all 9 books and the whole series before this one. Now I'm stuck waiting for the rest of the story and hope it doesn't come out too long from now because I'll have moved on an forgotten about all these wonderful characters.
This book had me loving to hate the handsome Vampire King Luc! Some of the ways he let his demon behave was walking the fine line for me. I know he has a temper and he sure shows it here a long with letting us see his vulnerable side.
As for our main heroine Amelia ...... Sometimes I found myself thinking she's so smart she's dumb!!! I mean we all know she is one kickass geek but at times her rush to judgement or reaction to situations just kills me and leave me wondering what piece I missed.
Hell and its levels are described with such detail its like walking into these places and really witnessing it for yourself and the history provided is just outstanding!!! You really get educated on the history told about all the Gods mentioned above and below. Stephanie you blow my mind with how much information you sneak into each of these many books you've published. Give yourself a pat on the back!!!
I don't do spoilers so ill end this with a must read and enjoy starting from book one in this saga and the reading hangover that follows =)!!!

As always, the Transfusion Saga books don’t disappoint!!! I liked this book more than #8. More things happened and it was more action packed.

Amelia is kind of a badass in this book and she uses more of her blood magic, which was awesome. She fights off a bunch of harpies, saves Nero, kills the queen Harpy (well basically does, technically Lucian does later), escapes a bunch of hellhounds and then finds herself in a strange town with Trice trying to get her hex removed.

This book ends on a cliffhanger and I hope that there’s more of a love triangle between Trice, Amelia and Lucian in the next book.
I‘m also kind of rooting for Nero and the douchie Fae commander...even if it’s just to show Vern what he’s missing.

I think I’m just a sucker for love triangles.....

Anyways, definitely worth reading!!!!

The cliffhanger at the end though grrrrrr....

I am NOT supporting an LT. I hope Amelia reunites with Lucius in the next book! Since they've been separated for the entirety of this book!

And omg, please, please DONT let Lucius kill of his loyal brother.... because the guilt will torment him for the rest of his life!! PLEASE MAKE IT BACK BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!!

Maybe I should wait until all 12 books is out before I resume. Since I do find these cliff hanger and the fact that Amelia is keep being separated by Lucius a torture.

P.S. Trice as long as you keep your hands to yourself, then I won't hate you. But if you do anything anymore despite you know Amelia is Lucius chosen one than I will hate you. Amelia, don't sway, stay faithful to Lucius! Because if you show me an ounce of your unfaithfulness then I'll be quitting this series :(

Woooo I did not expect any of that *Spoilers*

This book was so much about weaving the tail of who is behind things. Creating the stage that will hopefully come to a head in the next book. I loved it. I can say that I definitely thought Dariush was the traitor. I mean seriously who else could it be. Clearly I now know I’m wrong. I hope Amelia gets to Dariush and Lucius in time to save Dariush. I would hate to find out he dies. Especially since it sounds like he will be needed.

I am shocked that Dalene, the which is in fact Judas’ wife. I kind of figured her revenge was very personal but didn’t peg it to be quite that personal.y favorite thing is how we are kept guessing at every turn. I love not knowing what will happen next. It’s the best.

Finally secrets are revealed!

I am reading this series and enjoying the books as well as the characters. It was beginning to get frustrating from all the flip flop to evil characters without understanding why this unending grievance existed. Finally history was revealed fully to understand the true extent of revenge. Also in this book nine, Amelia finally stops and thinks before rushing out head on into the fray. Amelia is so smart, it’s about time that she shows up from a place of power. Like Amelia proudly states, she is a Draven. Not giving away any spoilers because if you are reading this series too, this book will give some feelings of Finally we get to understand what is driving the ultimate villain . . . . Read On!

NOoooo.......!!!!

This has been a wonderful ride. The series is full of adventure, action, laughs, and never a dull moment.

This book is no. 9. All books end on a cliffhanger. I will not judge. Maybe it's due to the number of pages. Which to me, I don't mind. As long as author gives us the next book in series. SOON!!!

Will edit reviews on weekend. Can't have my Lt. walk in on me doing this while at work. Needless to say, glad it's been an uneventful week in the city. I am in much need of sleep since book 1. Can't believe it's on KU!. I must have the series. And lots of coffee. ☕

Waiting on the continuation. 💘

It seems to me like one book is the boring builder and then we have a bit of action. This one was a bit more action packed than before and it kept my little brain a bit more entertained.
I'm very intrigued as to what Amelia's origin is! Her power is something i want to learn more about. I think one more kidnapping though might just send me over the edge! Me and my determination to finish this series has just about had enough. However, I'm in the cusps of it all now I certainly can't just leave it all or skip to the last book!
Also, I really am not lying when I say I'm into the world building here. I love how each world is darker than the last and it's written so well.

Cliffhanger Ending

I've read The Afterlife series and the Transfusion Saga to date. I'm hooked on the writer's style of paranormal romance fitted with quirky characters like Pip and strong empowered women like Amelia, along with strong, confident and caring men like Lucius and Trice. I enjoy the ancient battles, picturesque scenes, betrayal you didn't see coming, sensuality and sex. The plot twists...dang, the cliffhanger in this one...made my jaw drop! Now I'm Jonesing for book 10. Thanks for that Stephanie Hudson! ;)

Good next part

So the story continues of Amelia in hell and her adventure there
Lots happened and lots of fresh description
There was a tendencies to say “this happened and then this” and use of unnecessary words like the myth of Styx told by Lucius .....who’s a king in hell ....so would prob know and not be like according to legend
Also the temple of Zeus scene was starting to sound like a brochure or history presentation but otherwise it was really good as usual with a whole host of my favourite characters

Action, Action and MORE Action!!

In Roots Of Rage Amelia spends almost the entire novel on the run, trying to find her way back to Lucius. After she defied Lucius at The Tree of Souls and entered Hell, Amelia found herself in serious TROUBLE, trouble that followed her everywhere! Luckily, she quickly encountered three beings who were able to "assist" her in her trials, and naturally being the likeable, loveable and quirky human she has always been been Amelia manages to make a few new friends along the way to help her out....

Omg wow!!! Another whirl wind of a story. Amelia just attracts danger but will we finally find out who is behind all of the problems Lucius is facing? Will Amelia and Lucius be able to stop the final attack? We won’t know until the next read arghhhhhh.
Great story, plot and writing. The characters are great. Loving this series. Lots of angst, lots of gruesome scenes and fighting, the romance has been placed on hold in this read, but what a read it is. Can’t wait for the next instalment

Another amazing addition to the series

Stephanie has hit the mark again. I don’t know how she does it. Every book reignites my addiction
Amelia has been taken away from Lucias yet again. However this time the threat is so much more dangerous. Traitors (or are they) plotting revenge. Shocking revelations to come near the end
I was dragged into this addition from the start and didn’t want to come up for air.
Absolutely riveting.

Adventures, hot dominant guys, and a gal that kicks butt!

This whole series has me hooked, can’t wait to see what is next! These stories are full of snark, sexy guys, passionate love affairs, and amazing adventures that had me alternately laughing my butt off, ready to slap someone, and cheering for Amelia (and her friends). Just finished reading #9 & I can’t wait for more! I think if Amelia was real, I would have no problem nerding out with her over sci-fi and takeout.

All I Can Say Is "F***!!!"

Stephanie is a master at weaving a tale that will keep you spinning to the end! Just when you think you have figured it out, you find out that the plot is so much deeper.
I absolutely love Afterlife Saga!!! I can't wait for the other journeys ahead of us. What you have done with Transfusion has renewed my faith in what is in store for us when you tackle Vincent's story. ❤

So many twists and turns

Amelia and Nero are whisked away from the castle as soon as she wakes up captured by an unknown enemy. While Lucius rants and raves trying to figure out who is the witch, he now can’t believe his chosen is gone again. Now Amelia has to save herself and Nero from an enemy who hates Lucius. More bad azz powers, ugly mean demo s who all have a sad tale. Hooked on this series!

This is my least favorite of the series so far. The first few chapters are about the end of the last book only in lucius POV. It could have been cut out. It was also really wordy with a lot of history of hell and kingdoms. I started just skimming over it.

I want to finish the series so I can learn exactly what Fae is and get to a nice ending. But... I may read a few books before even bothering to buy the next one.

What? That ending has me scratching my head in a good way lol.
I'm loving the friendship between Amelia and Nero, the banter between them is hilarious.
